  1. Because it happens so rarely and inconsistently that it's not even worth mentioning. Hardly is it ever given out to the people who deserve it the most. The feature might as well not even exist. Their three strike philosophy is a failure at heart because they don't have the manpower nor a stable system to enforce it.
  2. Items don't disappear over time. If you truly have lost items you thought you once owned, I'd recommend changing your password/recoveries/pin.
  3. Nope, the only option with a good troll is to ban them, basically. And because their forums are so low quality, that will almost never happen. You have to really, really work hard for a 'forum mute'.
  4. When someone is completely green to such a level of detail isn't it better to use cash, since you're not earning tokens faster than you could earn money? Would also allow him to put the tokens to better use, like upgrading his rings? Idkmybffjill.
  5. Only 25 days left until its release. It's not that bad ^^

Except that his statement was one that highlighted the hypocrisy in judging the RS community by the few people who chin improperly, just in the same way that people think that all 14 year olds are stupid. So I really don't understand where you're coming from at all, since it seems like you're trying to say he thinks 14 year olds are stupid.
  7. Obviously. Which is why they'd have the right to strike if their wage wasn't adjusted to meet an increase. But it's not like if cost of living went down, people would suddenly take less pay... Such an argument would surely cripple government workers when their nation is in deficit. Isn't such a blanket philosophy impractical?

Serious tones != truth. I think you mean every stereotype has a grain of truth. That is how the saying goes, after all, and holds true all these years.
  9. Why, if the environment/work load/cost of living is the same? Workers have no power in the workplace; the only thing that ever changed that (unions) was abused until it pretty much was forced out of the workplace thanks to big corporations not wanting to take that threat.
  10. Everyone agrees to work for the salaries/benefits presented to them when they accept the job. The only time I see striking as acceptable is when they threaten to lower that agreed upon amount or vastly change the burden of work. And even then, striking isn't all that smart when you have hordes of people willing to rush in behind you to be those 'indentured servants'. Postal work is hardly skilled labor that requires specialized people to do it. I know it can be stressful working in a profession where everyone is trying to do more with less, like nursing. But I honestly think that's hardly the case here given that they're unionized. I'd be willing to bet half of them are striking just because.
  11. I've had to remove a handful of posts that went off topic or focused on attacking individuals instead of the presented ideas. Please try to keep in mind that here we are meant to be debating ideas, not slinging dirt on the individual. :) ---- Personally my views on it are that if we accept that this poll was rigged, then no one has anything to be upset about. What good is anger directed at people who simply voted for what they wanted in a meaningless poll? It's an unnecessary divide. We all knew that with this update that bots would come back in stronger numbers, that people would stop caring about powertraining others accounts for cash or things like that and focus on the grinding. What I'm kind of shocked here is that why are people upset with those who voted 'Yes' instead of Jagex who couldn't stop the bots?
  12. Yet anything that actually rants about a legitimate game issue ends up being better written than half of the crappy suggestions you see in the actual RSOF Suggestion board. In the suggestion boards you see stupid crap like "Oh we should have angel wings and horses lol!" whereas the rants board actually tends to focus on what's wrong with the game we have. The purpose the rants board serves isn't exactly to vent, but to laugh at idiots with ill-formed opinions and actually get some good feedback on the game. At best the rants board is a broken thing with no defined purpose with some nuggets of gold throughout. And it's a damn shame they're scrapping it instead of harvesting that.
  13. 5k+ users daily.
  14. I meant the latter. I frequent the RSOF and it was pretty decent actually; letting them roam free on the forums without a legitimate place to [bleep] and moan is going to be a bad move. They already do spill over, though. Their forum moderators are extremely overworked and have to deal with a crappy forum system to boot.
  15. I agree with the principle but as the first article points out, they aren't exactly helping themselves if they're highlighting how expendable they by striking.
  16. Ah I was mostly joking. :P I'm really impressed that you did so many kills. I would've gone bonkers.
  17. They removed the rants section before, and brought it back. I expect the same thing to happen again.
  18. EDIT: Just wiping my post. I can see an environmental righteous discussion a'brewin' that I want no part of lol. >_<

Less e-swagger, more on topic discussion. Please consider this a friendly reminder. :)
  20. I didn't quit because it wasn't important to my play style. There's a famous saying about making assumptions..
  21. That is the one thing I didn't try, creating a page. I said specifically that I only tried groups and regular user accounts. I wasn't aware that groups could have duplicate names for different types. That would be why I was asking. :P I'm sure by release time it will actually and truly be a cosmetic item--ie no stats--but for now it is not. And if it gives anyone an advantage, no matter how small the numbers, wouldn't you say that's a poor practice for a company that has stated repeatedly that they don't want to give people advantages?
  22. Because it lets you see things that you normally can't (spirit planes or w/e they are in the wilderness), so with this being a new area, people are trying out everything possible to find hidden things that have to do with the new area. :wall: I completely forgot about that. Sorry. @_@
  23. That could work, I guess, but every name display change has to go through a 24-48hr waiting period for someone to approve the name change. I know I just tried creating a group called RuneScape and I couldn't actually post AS the group account. Didn't want to try with a page yet though... I don't know it's just a bit fishy. None of their other posts are ever signed by mods on FaceBook, just twitter. Though I suspect that will probably be changing after tonight's mishap. Eh.
  24. Why do people keep tying in Jennica's ring with this? o_O
