  1. I don't know of any hunting training methods that don't require some form of attention.
  2. If I could go back, I would grasp my younger self by the shoulders and shake them violently. I would tell them to never abandon their hope, because they are ten times smarter than they truly realize, with ten times more determination and will than most kids. I would tell them to push themselves as far as they could go and take full advantage of highschool, in AP courses, SAT prepping, getting scholarships. And then I would tell them to stay the [bleep] away from computer programming, because although they're good, they're going to hate it. And then my younger self would probably slap me across the face and run away, doing everything as it already had been done. I simply didn't have the maturity or experience at the time to know what opportunities were passing my way, and nothing would've changed that. I needed to make the mistakes I made to get where I am--and that includes my scholastic escapades. There is no single subject that would've helped me out more than the other, nothing that I 'wished I had learned' that I can't learn now.
  3. I think it's right to say that they're worse than before, since the spread and usage of bots has exponentially increased. I think it's wrong to say, though, that we wouldn't have been in this exact same place anyway regardless if Free Trade was removed or not. It's simply the increase in sophisticated technology, coding techniques, etc.
  4. This is remarkable and the implications of this update are...well, they're just great. I cannot wait to see where this will be enabled in the future. I honestly do not know why this wasn't announced on the BTS or the main page.
  5. It was answered by a JMod in a Q&A that you can read if you follow the citation marks on the actual wiki itself.
  6. It's going to be a clash of two immature crowds. I'd be surprised if there wasn't bloodshed.
  7. The real question with that is: was anyone really surprised?
  8. It is a tad annoying and for that we apologize. I think the spacing issue was something that wasn't anticipated. Maybe for popular threads that are often looked at, we can do as you propose. I can't make promises, but I will pass it back for discussion. It's just that we can't ask people to report all of the topics like that, because it would bog down the report queue so much that we'd run the risk of severely delaying action against far more pressing issues, like trolls or phisher bots. I hope this clears up the situation a bit more from a moderator's standpoint.
  9. yes but on the wiki it says it was confirmed at 1:100k-1000k Not quite confirmed, moreso estimated.
  10. I would actually consider that as an abuse of the report function, which I strongly would not recommend users do. The report feature is to be used to alert moderators of rule-breaking content. Posts prior to the conversion were not formatted in such a way to violate our Irritating Posting Styles rule, and therefore would not have action taken against them since it was no fault of the user. So tldr I think that's poor advice and I wouldn't recommend doing it.
  11. It happened when we converted from phpBB to IPB. I don't think there's any way to fix it save manually editing it, which isn't practical considering most old topics aren't still active today (with the exception of some guides, a handful of GD topics, etc) and the moderation staff is already very busy maintaining the forums.
  12. I think it's helping the pressure on Jagex, if anything, since despite what we do to organize things a bit better botting is still one of the most heated topics on the forums and gets mentioned nearly once every thread throughout the runescape section. It is something too vast to ignore, which is why many users are critical of the social media stunts they are pulling with this so-called 'Bot Busting'. These higher degrees of discussion that are able to exist because of these organization efforts helps the information spread far more effectively, and from it it spreads to other forums--even the official ones. I think there is no lack of pressure from the community. It is the income, in the end, that will hurt them the most in terms of sent messages...and as some users have repeatedly stated, I don't think anyone is at the point where they're willing to cancel their membership in protest.
  13. I would not say your starting income is all that important but your income per hour. Your cashpile is finite, so when you choose to powerslay, you will eventually have to gain back more money as you will be doing so at a loss. 5mil cash will get you at least 20k cannonballs so that should be a good point as that would cover you for ~16 tasks.

I honestly can't think of a favorite memory. Although I have a pretty good memory, none of them leap out at me as the indisputable favorite. Walking up to the stage when I won 1st Place in a portfolio competition, maybe, because I was so utterly shocked. The second time I had met my soon-to-be-boyfriend, I grabbed his hand as he was leaving the car and asked him not to go, and the look on his face when we both sort of realized that there was more than simply a feeling of friendship between us. Being told by my parents that we were going to Wildwood for my birthday, a shocking surprise since I never expected something so extravagant. Thinking back to my childhood and all the times my grandparents watched me and tolerated my scattered attention and energy. My first crush on the boy who lived next to my house. Setting up the house for my mom's birthday as a surprise, and running outside to light smokebombs and sparklers when she came home... They're all small things in life that I think back on when I am depressed and try to remember how blessed I've been, and how little I've done to deserve such happiness. And I thank whoever is listening every night for it.
  15. I would still be sad, but I would be more frustrated than I already am with the situation. But I don't think that anyone could say that he didn't reap what he sowed in such a situation.
  16. Because they're extremely slow slayer exp given their high amount of hp, time it takes to kill them, and needing specialized weapons to kill them effectively. They are not like waterfiends, which drop valuable charms. Picking up noted drops that might at the end of it all barely add up to 100k gp and gaining less than 15k slay exp per hour is not something you want to do when you're looking to maximize slayer exp.
  17. EDIT: I'm stupid; yes, follow RobinHoodie's advice, Korasi > dscim, but use the dscim until you can obtain Korasi's Sword. (Received after The Void Stares Back quest)
  18. Yes, that's all well and good until you have an economy that places training methods at well over 20gp/xp and this game becomes your second Conquer Online. What good is half of Nex's drops if you can't sell them or make adequate use of them? What good is having a weapon with the highest DPS if there isn't anything worth killing? Apathy seems like a good idea when you're perched up on a pedestal and living off the fat of achievements made long ago. But it doesn't last for long.
  19. Moved your topic to Help & Advice, where you will get the advice you seek faster. :)
  20. Because this topic is simply focusing on bots ruining a particular area and how it negatively impacts your hunting, I would suggest that you post this in our Bots thread in the rants forum. If, however, you wish to recreate this topic and give it a wider range of scope so there might be adequate discussion, you are free to do so. PM me if you have any questions. :)

Read the material. There is no way around it--you will need to, especially if he's going to quiz you on it.
  22. I wouldn't say not to slay at all because it's decent CMB exp and charms are always a plus... but if you're slaying with making money in mind, powerslaying is not what you should be considering right now given your financial strain.
  23. Please report rule-breaking posts rather than respond to them. Try to keep it civil and helpful from here out.
  24. Wouldn't waste your time on slayer dart; why not use the black sally freezing and sidestepping instead? You would kill them faster and wouldn't need as much pray.
  25. His Porsche before: His Porsche after: I'm extremely sad to see him pass away but...god damn it, this is why we can't have nice things. He was out drinking with his friends before this happened--what kind of friends were they to let him drive off? It's a guilt they will have to live with the rest of their lives.
