05-Jul-2011 - Salt in the Wound
You seem to have missed when MMG removed certain intrusive advertising in the F2P game - or how a skill like agility lost its use in F2P. Not to mention how F2P could once solve P2P-based puzzle rooms in Daemonheim. Though I think they still can with one particular room. It's a bad thing for a games company to be hypocritical. We had this very same argument the other day in another thread... This was never set in stone, and noted somewhere in a Policy that they MUST abide by. It was something they decided to change two years ago, just in an effort to remove the P2p features which were in F2p, it was never said they would work to ensure no P2p stuff was ever seen in F2p... Where you people get off with your criticising of a company who's main aim is to earn money is just unreal. And for F2pers to rage over this is absolutely laughable... No-one is asking you to play this game. Ah I see. The big loophole here is that they can say "We never REALLY meant it, we just removed those things 'cause we're REALLY SUPER AWESOME! And now we're putting them back because we're even more REALLY SUPER AWESOME! :D" And then belittling people who are likely paying customers who have a right to voice their opinion because, in your eyes, Jagex can do whatever they please and you'd say yes sir I'd like another? If you find my comparisons to your attitude ridiculous and extreme, I find yours exactly the same. You're not even attempting to see the rational arguments against such things. It's 'absolutely laughable' to take your own phrase. C'mon now, at least try.

Youtube troubles
I'm curious myself and I'll be glad to, one moment. EDIT: Nope, it doesn't make bit of difference. (The balls are inert.)

Youtube troubles
God [bleep]ing bless you, Eee. I have to manually add the 's' to the video's url, but it works like a charm. Thank you. I'm ashamed I didn't look deep enough to see if anyone else had this problem on my own, I honestly didn't even know Adobe had a forum set-up. Anyway, thanks again. Well I just right clicked and went to settings on an embedded flash video and it says hardware acceleration is enabled.

Youtube troubles
That's a good idea, I'm sorry I didn't think of it. Let me go check. EDIT: Nope; not on IE/Chrome/Firefox. Again, all the most recent versions. Thanks though :/

Youtube troubles
Thank you for the confirmations. Yes, I've already did a reboot and I'm sorry I didn't mark that on things I've already tried. My drivers are up-to-date, as I recently reformatted my computer. I should've mentioned that earlier even though I can't imagine how they'd affect it but hey, I'm not brilliant and I'm a bit at wits end, so yeah.

Youtube troubles
So yes, it does have bearing, and it was unnecessary to even ask it. And it frustrated me. Sorry. Neither is disregarding the original post. Repeating things wastes my time and yours, and I don't appreciate it. Acting defensive over poor advice however, quite possibly my bigger pet peeve. >____________________________________________________>

Youtube troubles
Seems a bit odd to not want to say something that's supposedly implied (even though it was the first and foremost question I asked) yet offer advice that has already been checked and explained. >_> But thank you for trying to help. I guess I'll just have to hope it sorts itself out.

Youtube troubles
I tried it on two different computers, it's very unlikely that my main computer had an issue here with its flash. Especially since I tried it with Chrome, which has its own built-in flash player. But in the interest of being thorough, I did as you recommended and unsurprisingly, it did nothing. I take it Youtube's videos are working for you? You didn't address that point in my post and I kind of wonder if you read it all. :/

Youtube troubles
No matter what I do, when I go to youtube to watch a video, it shows nothing but a black square and doesn't load the player. I've tried: 1) Updating Flash and doing a clean install 2) Trying Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome (latest versions for all) 3) Using a different computer 4) Disabling all add-ons for all browsers 5) Clearing my browsing history 6) Restarted, everything up to date, and so on To no avail. What I really want to know is if anyone else is experiencing this problem and, if not, what do I do to fix it? I've checked Youtube's help documentation and Currently Known Site Issues, none of which offer any insight to my problems. EDIT: To explain it a little more concisely, I can access the site itself just fine and load other flash elements (like games). But on Youtube specifically any video I try to load only opens a black container that doesn't play. EDIT: This is what it looks like: (Ignore the black circle on the bottom right, I did that myself. It was a picture of a woman in a thong, which wouldn't have been appropriate to show.) EDIT: Thanks to help from someone, I found that the Html 5 version of videos work fine for me as well as embedded. It's only when I try to view them actually ON youtube's site with the flash player does it fail.

What Loyalty Rewards Say to Me
Last I checked, this isn't a topic discussing whether or not people should be giving Jagex a deserved pat on the back. This is the rants forum, where people may blow off steam and (intelligently) debate their frustrations out. If people wish to keep discussing whether or not a compliment or a complaint has a bigger impact on Jagex throughout its history, then I think that would make a swell topic in General Discussion. But please, for the sake of topicality, focus on the main points the OP created. Thanks :)

05-Jul-2011 - Salt in the Wound
It's easy to try to be objective and dismiss the people who are upset about this, and it's done each and every time these tiny updates are made. But how long does this list of tiny tweaks have to get in order for those on the other side of the argument understand their opposite's concerns? It seems like those against it simply think people are being selfish or overreacting, yet so far it seems that those concerned about this trend are starting to be proven right.

Verac's Brassard
Ya it's on a 25 interval. the 20 is for FOG armors. My bad, I'll fix my post. Been a while since I used barrows gear. XD I'm sorry for the mistake. @_@

Verac's Brassard
When you first buy it, the barrows item appears normal in this case "Verac's Brassard". When you engage in any type of combat activity, the 'time in combat' timer starts. The name of the item is changed to reflect this. In this case, "Verac's Brassard 100" Remember that barrows armor degrades over time in combat, so you will see it at stages of 100, 75, 50, 25, until it finally hits 0 and offers no benefit in combat. It takes roughly 8 hours of combat to degrade down to nothing. You can repair the degrading bits of armor with any Armor Repair Stand in any POH with a bit of coin on you.

Anticlimatic ending and very little character development. Kind of disappointing. Also, it's been so long since I did Kennith's Concerns that I forgot he had a friend in the quest named 'Kimberly'. It was very confusing for me in conversation when he mentions her again. I thought he was talking about me for a second.

Addicted To Runescape
I'm not addicted, but I've conditioned myself to be lazy and reward that laziness with games (like rs, or others). It affected my life for a while, actually. I'd like to say it no longer does, but I would be lying if I tried saying that videogames still weren't my biggest vice. I don't blame RS and other games for what mistakes I made. I made them willingly because I lacked the discipline to resist temptation.

You've missed the point or just chose not to acknowledge it; probably the latter.

Understanding How Bots Work
I can't see them taking away their most accessible and sellable point to stop a problem that, to the average observer, they simply don't need to worry about to stay afloat. They don't need to protect their assets, because they're not in any direct danger. As aggravating it might be to the legitimate user like us, we're likely not going to quit over it. As a customer I want them to take responsibility, but I doubt it will happen. It actually has more of a negative impact on me personally to ponder good ideas like Urza or Seesall presents, knowing they won't happen, than rampant botting actually does.

Tempted Killers Reopen
Hardly matters what they were in the past. Why not save the trololol'ing for their first war posted. If you're right about your insinuations, you'll have ample time to do so. But if you're wrong and they had turned over a new leaf, at least you don't end up looking like an idiot for it.

You're very lucky :( Closest he's getting to me is New York. Bah.

Tempted Killers Reopen
I think you should've gone with a different name, but at the end of the day names aren't that important. Rebooting TK is unlikely to draw back its core who have already established themselves elsewhere, but I doubt that was your intention anyway. Honestly, the best of luck. Anyone who gives clean fights these days are welcome... You are going to give clean fights, right...? >_>

Rule-breaking and the role of a fansite
Well, we can at least not lock all the anti-cheating threads and put up a visible message here that we at least don't support bots here. Locking legit anti-cheating threads is supporting cheating IMO. Not all the topics are locked, though, nor all the posts regarding anything to do with botting removed. But if a topic is solely to look at "Frost Dragon Bones have plummeted because of bots" then...Well, okay, that's true, but it doesn't warrant a whole topic for discussion. They can be posted in the existing bot threads we have in General Discussion, or in the rants thread if they feel they need to vent without worrying about creating an encyclopedic topic. I think since people have seen one thread locked, they're assuming all threads here on out will be locked which simply isn't true.
