  1. The helmet camera is nice, but it would be better if they just remembered to turn the camera in the direction they're looking. Helmet cameras are jerky with movement and honestly, disorienting for me. And with all that bouncing around, to me, it feels easier to fake things. Abandoning it actually makes me happy. It could've been great, but Steve is an absolute jackass. He can't teach. He's arrogant. He's...ugh. Don't ever believe him when he says he's not afraid of ghosts. He's afraid of everything and he covers for it with false bravado. And the people they choose are characters, not genuine people. Sure, there's some people who actually want to be there. I entered my Dad in to be chosen, but he wasn't picked...probably because he's actually serious about it and he's a bit older. The problem with thermals is that yeah, while they are great investigative tools, damn near everything reflects light and heat. You have to really analyze what 'hits' you get.
  2. Wow, where did this wellspring of passion come from? Statisitcally, 1500+ is 60% of the total you can acheive. That is low, regardless of whether or not you disagree with the stance some players take. Neither is thinking that someone who got to 1500 total is someone who plays for 6 hours a day and opened their account on August of this year when really, they could've been playing since 2002. Making the assumption that anyone who thinks 1500 is 'low' is an efficiency nut is just setting yourself up for ridicule. If they were planning on making a large chunk of their servers these level restricted words maybe, just maybe, this would be something worth getting all hot n' bothered for. There are what, two of these worlds? To launch into a morale crusade at the even slightest hint of someone's opinion on efficiency is a wasted effort. Your level doesn't mean you're dense. Without launching too much in the level vs maturity debate, I think it's fair to point out that even a level 114 can be as uneducated as a level 60. That's a problem these worlds can't solve. It's something we, as an entire community, cried out for a fix, and this was the closest Jagex could manage. That still doesn't mean there isn't an easier, more effective system to stop people from bothering you: that was, is, and always will be your Ignore List.
  3. Is this the fight that Dan got yelled at for naked binding like Goku? Lol. Grats on your win; out of curiosity what time was this?
  4. Ghost Hunters has hit the perils of their popularity. Earlier episodes, with little notoriety and good earnest work, have always been what I strive to do. The professionalism they displayed back then and healthy dose of skeptisicm was unmatched with any tv show on today--and if that Destination Truth show was anything like the pilot I watched for it, then yes even them. It was right when paranormal shows were picking up and they spread a great amount of awareness. Now, I agree with you, they're terrible. I still watch because I am always curious but I pay little if any attention to the bulk of their investigators. Auto pilot sets in after they talk with the owners and start investigating because, it's like you said, they're jumping at every little creak and dust speck. Their head tech guy is a tool bag, the girl investigators (and I'm not trying to be sexist here) are terrible vapid wenches, and Jason's always had his shiny bald head up his rear since day one. They're almost as bad as watching Ghost Adventures...almost. But really, I mean look at this guy. You can't be more of a tool if you tried: I still lol that when they see a shadow they always piss their pants. It wasn't always the same thing. There are actually some good shows about the paranormal out there. GH is just no longer one of them, sadly.
  5. I haven't particularly noticed its 'usefulness'. 1500 is setting the bar pretty low on members worlds and I would've much prefered 2000+. But still, at the end of the day, it comes down to: "Is it lootshare/coinshare?" and "Is that world taken?" Everything else is solved by your ignore list. It's not like RuneScape has an outgoing community strong enough to have two random people meet and go, "Hey, you don't suck? Me too! Ha ha! Let's kill the KBD." That just doesn't happen. More worlds are always a success, in my book, but did the 1500+ worlds revolutionize anything? Absolutely not.
  6. All of these are also detailed during guides or common sense. :/ And if people didn't know them, they'd ask. EDIT: It's worth mentioning that in some of those tips, the amount of research and comparisons they've done are better used in guides than 'tips'. It's just redundant. Nowhere, because no one needs information on it. It's already covered in comprehensive guides that people look for to answer their questions. >_<'
  7. You can submit things like that to Racheya, who runs the Tipit Times. They come out on nearly a weekly basis. There are tons of threads asking how to train x stat at any given time that would more than love to benefit from handy tips like that. And many of these 'tips' are already covered in detail in specialized guides. One that comes to mind is Grimy's exp spreadsheets, which neatly displays all that information at the click of a button. I just still don't think it's practical. Why post information just for the heck of it if it's not being turned to a purpose? For postcount, lulz, etc? Meh.
  8. What I don't quite understand is: what's the need to share tidbits of information like that when no one is actively seeking them? And if they are, why can't they just be posted in the H&A forum in their respective threads? And how would you objectively judge if something came from 'another fansite' or not if you're not a forum user there? There's no way to tell. I'm not a fan of the idea, much less a carbon copy of how it's run on another fansite...But that's just my (unwanted) tidbit, which is ironic, EDIT: and I'm in no way the last say in the matter, just chiming in
  9. Wasnt me using my account , But you can think what you want ;p Wait, why was someone else warring on your account then? O_o
  10. FAIL. I think he meant with in-game cash, not real currency. I would be okay with this as well; heck, why not?
  11. It's a great thing for blasters to wear in f2p cwa.
  12. Forgive me but I wasn't aware of DF acing. <_< Hopped a few worlds and then AC'd BK's fight. Ah sorry, I had heard you were hitting clans you thought were pking. Must've been bad information on my part, then...
  13. With clan wars especially, though, you should take your normal precautions to not use an attack mode that trains defence.
  14. Forgive me but I wasn't aware of DF acing. <_<
  15. Yup, quills are. Feathers aren't.
  16. Well, not quite for nothing. 300 phoenix quills is 1.25mil worth on the GE. So that can go towards your herblore training :P
  17. Uh, I trained from 1-72 runecrafting before the abyss came out, when you had to sell noted essence to the shop...but that's really it. Yeah, I trained cooking and fletching before make-x, but that's not really significant. I don't really consider myself old school, even though I've been playing the game for nearly 6 years now.
  18. A tortoise will stand you in good stead, but you won't last as long compared to those with a unicorn. I personally used a void range and melee set and didn't find it too hard to endure. Chaotic rapier is definitely better than using a whip, but bring something along to spec with (or alternatively, an EE, but I prefer spec.) I'd really recommend using curses anyway, since they drain slower than normal prayers, and in the long run will save you money. Do you have extremes? I know you mentioned you don't have overloads, but failed to specify this.
  19. No worries, I'm really looking forward to hear the follow up! Best of luck to you (and bring extra batteries~!)
  20. Ooh those are a pretty penny though. You might be able to get a good deal at a rental store. Not a lot carry them, but it would be cheaper than buying one. A good thermal or night vision will run you well over 800$ USD. :/ I tried to get my father one for his birthday, since it's him and me who do the investigating, but I just couldn't afford it. Get something that uses a good recording format, mp3 ideally, and has a memory card (sd, microSD, and so on). The one my mom bought my dad was a little on the cheap end and it had it's own weird format and no real way to back up the audio files. Very disappointing, but it does get the job done. :/ Good audio programs to use though for reviewing is Audacity, which is free, and CoolEditPro, which isn't (sadface!) As for questions...eh, whatever gets an answer, you know? You might be interacting with residual haunts, in which case you might not get answers to your questions but still hear something, or ones that are aware. I personally am afraid to try to provoke, because my beliefs are that there are poltergeists and demons who are 'evil', and I would be even more afraid to try that strategy in a place like amityville. I just try to be respectful, really. If you get the reactions you seek, say thank you...feels wrong not to. Asking questions related to the area is great, but the standard "Is anyone there?" etc works just as well. It's hit or miss. Just because you might not get an answer that night doesn't mean that something isn't there.
  21. You guys had a great handle on the fight from what I saw. And returning the favor with ac'ing is the absolute least we could do. MMA were really scattered throughout the duration of the fight, but you guys kept it tight and together. Well done. Though I don't know why you let Lordhotshot lead... (Just kidding, you're awesome.)
  22. A good digital recorder will last you a lifetime and won't run you more than $40. It's also a great way to archive what you find. Heck, I even use the recorder on my MP3 player. A digital recorder doesn't have to be high end--those really fancy ones just pick up too much useless junk and noise. What other methods did you guys plan to use when you do a walk through?
  23. When do you plan to do your first proper investigation? Not going to lie, that house looks amazing. The fact that it's power has been cut to it is even better. I wonder if you'll encounter any disembodied voices or evps in spanish...haha. Any other background on the house? What'd Church say about it? I would love to do an EVP session in there. It's my favorite method of investigation simply because it's the hardest to tamper with and it's the easiest sort of findings to present to skeptics--which isn't to say skeptics are bad, but when you present a photo that you know isn't edited and they whine "This is shooped!@!" when I know it's not...because I took it. I'm not a fan of live play-back though, like those toolbags in Ghost Adventures, because it's too easy to let your emotions alter your perception of what you're experiencing.
  24. That's why they yak it back. I'm sorry, but this suggestion seems like just another method to strip another element from an already bland and stale pvp environment. :/
  25. Alright, thank you for clarifying for me aspeed and tripsis. That makes much more sense and sets my worries at ease.
