if you could make a new skill...
I'd make a new skill called Forestry that condensed Woodcutting and Firemaking. They're so darn close, there's no reason to have two seperate skills for them! (Sorry, pet peeve)

Armadyl Guardian
Some have speculated that this could be the opening of the mithril door in the ancient caverns. This could be linked to the new path found by Lucien. Jagex said they'd be leaving all sorts of hints to the new quest, and they encouraged us to investigate/speculate. I don't know a lot about backgrounds and quest story lines you guys have been discussing, but surely this is all related, and we're in for a big bang. The door is still sealed shut, however, even after this "rumble." The only new area (to my knowledge) is the new anvil room. I find it hard to believe, with the current clues, that the Dragonkin Anvils and Lucien are related.

Player Moderators: Are They Really Worthy?
People aren't perfect. You're going to have someone messing up the data somewhere. Mostly, player mods do a fairly decent job. There's always going to be a few though, that get the group a bad reputation. I'd be willing to bet that most mods that get bad reputations stem from the fact that whiny kids complain about getting blackmarks "unjustly."

Armadyl Guardian
Even with the unlocked Ring of Charos? What about Lucien himself? Actually he does tell you what he's doing with the ring. I remember this being discussed on the thread I created after I found out how to get the RC guild master to tell me what she was searching for. He's searching for an ancient artifact that gives off a "very specific" form of energy, similar to what the RC guild master says. As she is referring to the Eye of Saradomin aka the Stone of Jas, I can only assume that Movario is searching for the same thing, although he doesn't say outright. Here's a wild thought: perhaps the Staff of Armadyl has the stone of Jas on it? If you've completed the quest, "Defender of Varrock", Zemorragul (sp?) already suspects that Lucien has received the staff. Perhaps Movario is searching for the Stone of Ja to add to Lucien's collection? If I was trying to overthrow Zem, I'd grope for every advantage I could get. Yay wild speculation on my part! XD

Did you side against Lucien in the Temple of Ikov quest?

28 October 2008 - Hallowe'en Event and Quest
Is there a connection between receiving a Communique and siding against Lucien in the Temple of Ikov? Can those who have received Communiques state whether or not they sided with Lucien? EDIT: The pictures of that new room in the Ancient Cavern remind me more of the Elemental Workshop sort of setting. But possibly being able to smith dragon is just as plausible! :D

Weekly Poll: Do you follow through with your goals in RS?
I rarely follow through with my goals. I need smaller, baby steps to keep my attention when it comes to Runescape. Too much and it gets far too daunting/boring. EDIT: ! It seems I'm in the minority. Where are all my fellow procrastinators :(

Ranging in PVP using the wilderness ditch
It's an obstacle being used in the environment. They're no different from the various rocks and half walls you'll find across RS. Now, if you made the argument that the ditch has no place in PvP worlds due to the fact that it serves no purpose, yeah. I'd have to agree. Since it's original implementation was to prevent being moonwalk'ed into the wilderness and being barrage/spec koed is impossible in PvP worlds, it's useless. But you're upset because you claim that "not everyone can range" and it's not fair. This would be the user's fault for not employing more flexible pking tactics. I think if you changed your rant up and shored it up with some viable facts, then you'd be on the right page and the righteous people of Tip.It wouldn't be 'up-in-arms' against you :P Originally, it wasn't. Now the game has changed significantly. PvP worlds are not the Wilderness of the past. It is now no different than any other obstacle in Runescape.

Lumbridge Explorers ring
I think it was a lovely update. It gave some pures the opportunity for faster travelling without training magic. I just have to wait until I get Dorelei the money for 42 prayer before I get it, which is a bummer. But I'm sure that not all pures are like that haha.

The God Wars Dungeon's Frozen Door
I think there will be a room with the Armadyl, Zamorak, Bandos, Saradomin, and Zarosian, boss monsters all at once. If you manage to kill them, you'll be able to receive the Dragon Battletank--your own personal black dragon to ride upon and rampage through Falador. This attacks with mage, range, and melee all at once, and is fully able to ko your opponent in one hit. It also makes you temporarily invulnerable. What, this isn't the wild speculation of things discussed to death topic? Darn, I need a new map! :twss:

Gamasutra- interview with Jagex CEO Iddison
Hm. New statistical figures. I could've sworn a few months (maybe a year) ago there was more P2P females than P2P males, if only by a few percentage points. :-k

Pvp world interest already dieing out
Overproduction? The demand has probably stayed the same, but the supply has probably skyrocketed. Thus, causing prices to fall. It's just as plausible explanation as "PvP interest dying."

October 15th 2008 - PVP Worlds + Game Log In Improvements
I've never heard anything to support that theory, nor does the update post mention any sort of system. They mention "random" drops.
-
Rare demand once again?
Er..why would they be? They don't help pking at all and there's probably a 1-in-10000 chance of getting it as the "random inventory drop." :3 I dunno, I just don't expect their price to fluctuate more than normal.

Pures of Today
Hehehe! Oh you devil

Pures of Today
Either they'll become self sufficient or they'll have to have REALLY good connections with friends of varying levels. :anxious: I just made a pure named Dorelei and realized, "Oh crap. I need money. Uhm. Okay, lets do some jobs. Crap, this requires me to train skills...I have no money for arrows...argh!" etc So now I'm working on getting skills like fishing and cooking at a high enough level for lobster while saving up the money for arrows. :/ Periodically I might bum some cash off my friends. 5k goes a long way when you've got nothing to begin with XD.

13 October 2008 - RuneScape Pre-pay Card Launched
I like that these are offered at target. I wonder how much more expensive these cards are to cover the cost of convenience... Either way, I get 10% off it because my father is a target employee. Yay!

Soul Altar Coming Soon?
Considering how long it took for the blood altar to come out, I don't think we'll see the soul altar released any time soon :

Halloween Event Discussion
I have a sinking feeling that it'll be as "fantastic" as the gnomecopters were... Probably will have something to do with the Grim Reaper again since so many people loved that.

Will kebab be used when PKing in F2P?Conclusion P.5!
You keep saying they can also boost your stats like it's this wonderful awesome cure-all. You even said it yourself: they can give you -3 to your stats, and a +2 to your stats. So if you get a stat lowering, then a stat raising, that's still leaving you at a -1 in whatever stat (assuming they even affect the same stat) I don't see how the magical +2 boost at complete random to any stat justifies -3 in any stat.
-
Will kebab be used when PKing in F2P?Conclusion P.5!
Pking and damage dealt/received is too random as it is. The price of consistency and no chance of negative stat effects makes up for the cost of lobs/swordfish. If price is truly so much of an issue, people can just buy trout or tuna.

Killing for Commodities
The new Armored Zombies and Tormented Wraith NPCs drop planks in noted form fairly often, and both have a chance at 'decent drops' (Except the TW drops elixers, too) I'd do them if I ever wanted to train construction (though I'd probably camp at AZ for better experience)

Pickpocketing success rate
Hm. That sort of shatters my mindset that gloves and boots increased your chance of successful theiving (I could've sworn I read that somewhere, prior to the Gloves of Silence update) It'd be interesting to see the data, but bless you for pickpocketing people 300+ times at each level :3
