  1. I want to make a replica of King's Landing, as best I can, in minecraft. I logged on and created a new world 'til I hit a place that looked about right and set to clearing some trees by burning them, figuring I could just replant them later. Then, when I had a working space, I'd get to planning. ...That plan quickly went to the [cabbage] as 1) My borrowed cruddy laptop started crashing after 15min of play time 2) it essentially became "How many times can Kim burn down forests and still get a laugh from watching it burn? Needless to say, the idea to replicate King's Landing from the Song of Ice and Fire series is on the backburner. No pun intended.
  2. I played on servers just fine prior to the 1.3 update and both servers I tested on were managed by knowledgeable admins, running stable on top of the line machines :P (i7 cores, 4+ gb ram, etc)
  3. So I need some help. I am experiencing massive delay in my actions on servers. It is so bad that playing on Peaceful is mindnumbingly aggrivating and nigh impossible and...well, playing on any other difficulty is almost certain death. Strangely enough, it's just when I play on servers. I play as I would normally on single player, no lag, on Fast-Normal with soft lighting on at a steady 30fps. No such luck on servers, where it takes over a minute to register as an attack on a harmless mob or take damage for a fall, let alone the delay in destroying blocks. I originally thought it was server-side, but it must not be since I've tried both a server with a third party wrapper and the default provided by Notch. Both were updated to version 1.3. And I must stress that prior to the most recent update, I've never experienced anything like this before. Since I had the delay problem on both servers, I checked for problems on my end. I did the simple things, like rebooting my router, restarting the computer, making sure the machine was running cool, etc. I pinged the two servers I had delay on, both averaged about 50ms response time and virtually no loss. Then I checked my speed and saw relatively no change (approx 1mb/s dl and .6mb/s upload, which is what I played on just fine before). When I saw nothing troubling in my speeds and response time, I deleted the old copy of Minecraft and downloaded a fresh copy, no mods. Still delay. So now I'm completely confused and unsure. Worse, it seems as if only a certain amount of people are having this problem, my unlucky self among them. I'm fairly certain it has nothing to do with my specs since I can play the game perfectly on single player, as I stated earlier. Is anyone else experiencing this same issue? Or, better yet, is there any hope or whisper of a patch or an unofficial fix out there yet? The situation is extremely frustrating and I miss my multiplayer goodness! Thanks in advance, etc.
  4. That log tells more of a story than you think, and not exclusively the bolded part, considering it explains in perfect detail all the reasons why they had to do what they did prior to that. Plus, if anyone was around to see the incident the lot of them caused on the forums, they would've seen 20+ spam topics before the staff handled them. It's slightly...ironic? No, that's not the right use of ironic. Oh well, it's odd to say the least, and certainly not the 'justifying evidence' you were hoping for. If anything, it's quite damning. There's a reason why I'm no longer on the staff. I hit a point in my life where I was no longer able to do things professionally and give the community the work it deserved. It's why I stepped down. And I'll admit fault for lashing out as I did. Luckily, the rest of the staff was not as poor as I was and they did the right thing at the time.
  5. Well either it wasn't permanently or it was a small temp ban, but I appreciate your snarkiness nonetheless. Staff always give reasons when asked, so forgive me for saying that's a crock of [cabbage] you're trying to pass off as fact. And even if they didn't in some miraculous and twisted parralel universe, then when they appealed even with "Why was I banned etc etc" they would have it thoroughly explained to them by an admin. Well you wouldn't get a reason for why Danny was banned, but if you asked a staff member about your own ban you would of got an answer. Quite curious as to who you talked to, even, because your recap of the situation seems...faulty. In regards to the irc mute, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't asking in public repeatedly and then your friends took up the chant, which would've given an IRC moderator no choice but to take action as they had. And, mind you, you don't need to be unbanned from a channel to private message anyone online in IRC; you could've pm'ed the person who supposedly muted and kicked you even.
  6. How do you know they didn't, or at least on an individual basis?
  7. Being funny != acting like at idiot. Look at Danny; I'd say he's probably one of the funnier members of Tip.it's clan community and he's still around. And most importantly, he isn't an idiot nor does he act like one. I have to wonder if any of those people who were banned at the time even bothered to appeal it or talk to the staff about why they were banned; of a surety they would not have been banned unless they made a monumental [bleep]-up or had a large history.
  8. Welcome back Mateuz and all those ex-DH'ers. Looking forward to getting to know your new clan as TPC. Knowing the shared history between your three 'root' clans, I have great expectations for you all here. Good luck.
  9. Migrating from phpbb and ipb was horrendous enough, no thanks.

How is it that you're certain that your understanding of the bible is more correct than any other? This is what I mean by relying too heavily on the written Word.

And in some cases shun them. I'll counter your example with my own: my relatives in Indiana work with their church, and their church works closely with the community. A gay couple recently moved in the area and wished to attend their church, but given the church community's views of the bible, have since been prevented from attending their church after an Elders meeting decided that it was an affront to the Lord to have them worship in their church. Are they exactly working within the Christian belief? That's debatable. All these misinterpretations are what we deserve by relying too heavily on the written Word exactly. But that couple was shunned all the same and last I heard they're actually considering moving again because of this. Not all Christians are cut from the same cloth.
  12. Taking the bait: You should know better than anyone that any community can have sporadic highs and lows. E-thug: Lolz you obv care if you're posting trollz!@#!@@41411
  13. Duraflame always had a sickly green color to their flame because of all the chemicals its saturated in. I hate using them when I intend to roast marshmellows, just unappealing.
  14. If it helps you sleep at night, sure. But in real life, you see, scammers actually grow up to be lawyers.
  15. What if what if what if they use their head? What if we stop catering to illiterate 10 year olds?Stupid thread is stupid. Tif is turning into zybez. HAHAHAHAHA--wait, what? How does one exactly go from people displaying sympathy to comparisons to zybez? Was the phrase 'apples to oranges' ever uttered in your presence? Disagreeing with one person, hey. Disagreeing with a mod, meh. But wait! Suddenly disagreeing with one mod makes you disagree WITH THE WHOLE SITE LOLZ OMG BECAUSE OF SYMPATHIZERZZ@!@@? Wait what? nosense.jpg

Hotel Dusk is pretty great for a point and click DS game.
  17. I agree with this, oh how I would love to play Craps in rs That's what the Burothrope Games Room used to be, I think. Sadly, it's a dusty forgotten area and these games are more popular than the Games Room ever was. It actually makes me laugh a bit on the inside.
  18. Actually, I disagree. Luring from safe areas to the wilderness (or I suppose in this case, a wilderness-like environment) was never allowed. It won't be long until this is fixed, because there's really nothing grey about it. Allowing the dangerous portal to stay within the safe Clan Wars Arena has contradicted years of precedence. Still, anyone familiar with clan wars should really know better than that.
  19. It's not exactly a new phishing scam. This type of scam has been circulating the clan world for years. The dead giveaway is always the discrepancy between how the link looks and how it shows up in your status bar.
  20. I absolutely disgust headless players in multiplayer games. I hope these idiot dudes who lost their banks quit computer and never ever play multiplayer games of any sorts again. No sympathy for them. It's called being human. If you don't like it go play a single player game. Everybody in every game will have a period of time when they do not know exactly what they are doing in it. If you've amassed enough wealth for a santa hat, or a piece of bandos, or...hell, anything over 10mil you should have a fairly decent working knowledge of the game. And if you don't, you learn a hard lesson. And you don't do it again. But just because I don't sympathize with people who lost their stuff doesn't mean a person should quit an mmo. Especially given that there are other people who are like me in knowledge and understanding of the game. (And this thread shows you that much, you must admit.) Just means that we either have enough luck not to make a mistake, enough knowledge to avoid it, and/or have learned such a lesson in the past. Whining about mistakes from your own stupidity is aggravating if you're standing on the other side of the story for whatever reason.
  21. The Wilderness Course is the best xp for my level, so no thanks. If you're constantly getting killed, however, then your xp/hr is drastically decreasing and it's probably more worthwhile to find somewhere else to train until the pking frenzy dies down. You're hurting yourself and yourself only when you stay with this stubborn course of action. I understand the frustration but it's not like you don't have reasonable alternatives.
  22. Lower the supply the more expenisve they get retail so if you find people refurbing old computers you can turn a quick buck on stuff destined for the junk bin. Usually the work needed to advertise and sell such old parts isn't worth the time invested, but hey.
  23. If you weren't comparing now to your tenure on the staff and you admit you're not active and by all accounts unaware of what's been going on in the clan section how do you propose to justify your complaints? Perhaps you just enjoy writing paragraphs and forgetting where your enter key is to spout off some hearsay? By all accounts your only real experience in clanning was in Legacy and they died nearly a year ago and you've been out of touch ever since. I find your criticism irrelevant and practically useless, which is a shame because you're not a dim fellow. You're actually quite smart if you'd put your head out from the sand and work on something worth talking about.
  24. This, you don't even need to go there while they're open. They have kiosks that will weigh your envelopes and print out the appropriate labelling/postage dependent upon its weight at no extra cost. I don't know what the rules are for pickup because I think it might vary from area to area. But you definitely don't want to leave something too big to fit in your mailbox on the outside of it for pickup. Dropping it off in a mailbox or the drop off at your local post office is probably the way to go.
  25. And again, if you were around you'd see that there's activity there. But this time is different than your time--worlds apart. You can't compare them. Stop holding them to your own twisted standard of yourself as a staff member; it was drastically skewed and overinflated.
