  1. You win coolest blog name is prestigez prize
  2. I personally think that blaming the declining activity in minigames on the efficiency mindset is too convenient a scapegoat. While the current community is definitely more efficiency minded than it was in the past, this sort of behavior is nothing new. In fact, it has always been a part of the game, just in a less pop-culture sort of way. It's important to remember that they're minigames, not really intended to appeal to everyone. There's always going to be your reward chasers increasing the game's activity so long you use that to draw in extra players - and many minigames do use this system. Nothing really wrong with that, except that as the game changes it risks becoming completely irrelevant with each game update. If you look at almost every dead minigame, there is a section of the community that will always be there that enjoys the game simply for the sake of the game. This is true for GOP, Stealing Creation, Castle Wars, etc. These people will always be there, regardless if the rewards are no longer relevant in today's game. Sadly, those people will always be a smaller group than the reward-seekers. Again, that hasn't changed over time at all - what has is the number of overall players. It's simply easier to spot these problems when you look at minigames. Less people overall throughout the course of say, 3 years, can really make things difficult even for the hobbyist players since a few of these games were clearly made with a larger audience in mind to run smoothly. (Castlewars being a prime example.) It might not be all that wise to hold minigames up as the sole pillar of proof that the game's population has declined over the years, but when held against the rest of the evidence we have on the matter it's easier to infer what's going on. Now that I've said all that though I would like to also point out that MMORPGs overall are declining as well, which does not help the problems RuneScape suffers from today.
  3. Camp imgur/reactiongifs/tumblr. There can be only one.
  4. True, if I still had them I should've taken a picture of the ridiculous amount of serum 203's I had back before ashes were a summoning secondary and overall cheap herblore exp.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5ab8BOu4LE This could refer to 1 lvl left to 120 or the fact that you're the only person in your screenshot. (I would have been there if I was awake - grats Mish <3)
  6. Okay let's talk first for a moment: scalable NPC levels. Imagine all the quests in scape with scaling enemies for difficulty like that, maybe with different tactics for each level range. That's awesome. I hope this "experiment" ends up being a success and leads to further tweaking so we can reach that point.
  7. Holy hell chrismas tree hat is 8m? When did that crash? I remember it being 22m for quite a while after its release.
  8. Seriously though, if the image and anecdote were too weak an explanation, then I'll just outright say it: it's really fun to fiddle around and train, but people will find an item or method that is a comfortable middle-ground between easy/fast and cost and only make that for the rest of the skill/grind. It doesn't really add any "depth" to the skill or activity, just a minor inconvenience.
  9. Sort of. I'll use a well-known example to illustrate the problem though... Ask me how many of potions of health I have in Skyrim (blue mountain flower, wheat, very common ingredients) throughout the course of 100 Alchemy. Go on, ask.
  10. Listening to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw_kqoW1HxY The only damn album I can stand from them. Very nice concept album and it's catchy, in a way.
  11. Here's something while I kill myself get this stupid stick. 77k/220k arrowheads for 99 fletch. One more month of buying them for 99 fletch. Nearly 97 cons for next bxpw or training after con rework, whatever comes first. 5k orbs are a remnant of the last bxpw I think, I forget to do staves a lot. Don't really care about crafting exp though... About 650k exp in charms, which puts me something like 300k away from 99. 42k spirit shards short of using what I currently have, all purchased over time at 22/23 ea. Then I suppose I'll need at least another 150k more. Prismatic pendants waiting for Divination and the second skill. Seeds eagerly awaiting bxpw, otherwise I'm still planting maple/pineapple/calquat/herbs. And I'm starting to stock the daily glass for flasks, dunno why. Finally, 68m/155m for drygore sets. Buying GWD partners pls.
  12. I know, I know...I haven't finished the graphics yet (because [bleep] you, I want them) and I haven't played a lot to "achieve" anything. Today though I'm hoping on getting 86 hunter, 86 mining, and finishing the yaktwee stick.
  13. I used to be in Gladz. I remember you by the way - feel free to add me. Were you in gladz when Cordeiro was?
  14. So it's been about a week and a half to two weeks. There has been an effort to leave more lax banter in General Discussion be similar to how Off Topic functions. (So no more splitting unless in extreme cases gone way off point and so on.) Do you guys think this helps at all, or is there still more you'd like to see done? If you can't give specifics, that's fine, I just might have to ask some questions to understand what you mean.
  15. If that were the case, he'd be banned from the game too, not just the forums. I remember seeing lots of people get confused when they did the same thing to people posting about swiftkit.
  16. Your use of Orion is probably not why you were muted on the RSOF. Were you posting repeatedly about it? It's a topic the forum mods there aren't allowing people to discuss.
  17. Me too. Except replace glad with highly irritated. ;_; I was really hoping it for the next week for personal reasons. You can't catch me, responsibilities! *runs away*
