  1. If you want to discussing the validity of achievements in 07 when compared to runescape's history, fine, but please stay on topic and within our forum rules. Thanks very much and PM me if you have any questions.
  2. It's not just rule, in the US it's law. And it's still part of the RS ToS:
  3. Me too, especially since that was one of the first things I tried. I didn't stick with it at the time, because I thought click through functionality still worked and it didn't make sense to me to lose all that screen space. Now I'm considering going back to it because of, you guessed it, lost space. RIP.
  4. Adding people to your friend list. Runescape players are capable of devouring over 400 pounds of meat in a little more than half of a second. It's the same creative statistical interpretations when we were told that over 95% of players were in favor of the SoF ... by way of daily spin usage. If a person was really against SoF, they wouldn't use their daily spins at all. That's been discussed to death but to re-hash and really oversimplify a very thought out and interesting discussion, players essentially have no choice but to continually use it due to the way it's set up, the popup's annoying nature, and competitive play. It's set up to be part of the addictive mmo architecture. Should have a re-read of those old threads about the SoF, it's really a fun* read. * - I am not responsible for the medical fees from brain damage brought about by facepalming at most of the posts on those threads.p

  6. 100% chance of it in any post directed to sally 50% chance of any post directed to his friends 0% chance if you're trying to sell him something but 75% chance if you're his friend AND you want to sell him something. but it falls back to 0 if that something is risque
  7. Warped tortoises are never worth killing :P Neither is your mother but I haven't cancelled my plans just yet. HEY...oh...eh.
  8. Pittsburgh is a lot like that too
  9. I think it wouldn't matter how it was phrased. Put the word months in there, and people become terrified, especially since waiting for updates is not big a stretch of the imagination. :P I'm not too worried though. This battle of lumbridge stuff has me so preoccupied I barely have any time to go do anything else with how slow the collection rate of tears and fragments are...
  10. Not as much as we hate your name collectively, I assure you.
  11. sir that is what the ignore list is for do you know how many people from Solace I had on my ignore list at any given time, or EoE
  12. Except Riptide was referencing the NIS, which was in a very long beta testing period. That isn't to say I really agree with him. NIS alpha & beta actually fixed a lot of game-breaking glitches, such as the time you could equip multiple armor pieces or something along those lines. There were a lot of small to medium sized updates released on a regular basis. What I have a slightly more difficult time understanding is why they didn't start out with known issues from the get-go. I'm sure there's some reason for it, but in all honesty it's not a big deal so long as the remaining little things (hi, "hide" global chat, clickthrough chatboxes, etc) are addressed soon. Edit: Well that explains the above question, heh!
  13. Any news older than a month as of late ends up being very risky to accept as truth, what with all the push backs they end up having to do in order to ensure a somewhat stable release.
  14. Why do you have to spend 24 hours training agility? why don't you
  15. Haven't read the books but what on god's earth is the stuff over her ears? When I went to RSwiki to look up a picture of her she looked like a normal human being. Is it supposed to be a hat? If so, when will her hat be available. HEAVY WANT HAT.
  16. This....I like the sound of this... You say that now...
  17. I haven't left Lumbridge since RS3 was released. Help me please. ;_;
  18. The thing about long distance relationships is there is a reaaaaaaally long time in between seeing your girlfriend/boyfriend. Before you go, "HURR DURR NO KIDDING" just let it sink in. If you're trying it out, really trying it, give it more than one break and one visit. The reality of what you try to do often doesn't set in until after the first departure, where you're waiting all over again, in my experience.
  19. I would say - this time speaking as a mod - that the 200m is being moderated to the same level the rest of General Discussion is with the way it is now. The only reason why you see more mod actions there as opposed to any other thread in GD is because it's so massive. If there's an argument for less enforcement, I would think it'd have to be an argument that made sense applying to the entire board as a whole. On that front suggestions are always welcome. I figured this would be a better alternative than just hiding the post and completely ignoring user concern, no? If just left in the 200m thread, we would drive it off topic again discussing moderation policy and block out anyone who wanted to legitimately discuss the top 20, seasonal high scores, any NIS setups that might be relevant to training, etc. That sort of thing has happened before (with a different subject of course) on the 200m thread and I would hope to avoid it if we could, especially since discussions like these are supposed to take place on the Forum Updates & Suggestions board.
  20. I split this off into its own thread so it can be given the attention it deserves, though the irony of the situation doesn't escape me. But as moderators work to protect the interests of the community, it seems fitting that the community take the opportunity to state if those interests have changed or if they're not being met. ---- I will be honest and post my opinion as an individual - not a member of the moderation staff. The topic was set for death the moment Suomi reached 200m all and nothing short of a new skill release could revive it. Only because there are some great and passionate people in the efficiency community is the thread still tracking the progress of the top 20. The topic's scope never really was anything more than tracking those top players. Efficiency and metagaming play an important part of that tracking, which gives the thread considerable life that almost no other discussion has on the boards. What's mostly moderated seems to be the bickering back and forth that usually gets regulars to go, "can we please stop rehashing x again for the umpteenth time?" Hardly seems right to calculate that into how well a thread is doing if they just argue the same thing over and over. At least by splitting it off into another topic, they can do that elsewhere. And if the drama is really missed, well, it's not really gone -- you just have to go to another thread for it. That's my two cents on the matter. Again, just my individual opinion as a member of the community, not as a moderator or a representative of the staff.
