People who already used their ring reset in the two years before the combat system was changed entirely is a bit different than making a really poorly thought out GE purchase... As for the subject of whining, I haven't see any on the this topic so far. The entire premise of it is to offer suggestions, and that's precisely what people are doing.

A big spurt of recent motivation for me has been creating a new account and seeing how the current game is to new players. I have to say, I had a lot of fun with it even though I'll never truly recapture that "new player feeling." I generally don't have a need to look up stuff because I already know it exists in a lot of cases (with only a few exceptions, like low level armor that I'm not familiar with.) But when I look at my main account, I'm...bored, sadly. I miss the clans I used to be in, the friends and group activities. Big events are fun, but so impersonal. I've got a lot I can still do in the game since I'm far from maxed or completionist, but I generally have little desire to do it. I do what I can here and there, but since most of the duration of my playing style has been friend-driven motivation rather than self-motivation (is that a thing?) I find myself slowly losing attachment to my beloved Runescape. :(

I guess it might be confirmation bias, since I see more topics replied to there by CM mods rather than the RSOF -- but the RSOF is gigantic and any ones that MIGHT'VE received responses are probably swallowed in the sea of weird things that are posted there. But the CM mods there have been very involved there lately and very helpful, so meh. I mean, it can't hurt to try alongside an email. Just be sure to make it a selfpost.

Most people just grinding out for items don't bother to waste time on upgrading their rings. They simply want it over and done with. Those past those milestones of obtaining their favorite items really have nothing else to do with their tokens but to put it into exp, and that's not really worthwhile anyway since they gain xp at such a higher rate than they do tokens. It might not be what it was intended for, but the affect of abusing addition resets is really quite small. If it's that big of a concern, they could just put dg ring resets in for a small amount of tokens per reset and skip the refunds altogether...but again I really don't think the "Abuse" from those things would be that big of an issue since DG is self-contained as it is.

We have no idea if his ban was via the botwatch system or done manually. While Jacmob has stated that botwatch hasn't had any false bans, he admits in that same sentence that the bad bad bans have been the result of human error. The fact remains that there have been false bans on legitimate players and as a result quite recently that have been reversed, so the jury's still out. VPN users, for one, get banned by mistake sometimes if that VPN is also used by goldfarmers. You're well within your right to question anyone's gains but it might help to have a broader view on the subject before coming to any conclusions. Some people have had varying levels of success contacting some of the community management mods about it via reddit, especially if the ban came about from a false flag due to their VPN. They're actually getting slightly better with admitting to mistakes, sometimes even compensating people with spins. Granted it's still awful when compared to CS from other competitor MMORPGs, but hey. Take what you can get, since you're stuck here forever.
