  1. 20 mill is just crazy. I'm sure that for every person that can -casually- afford that, there's another 250 who can't. I'll agree that pretty much everyone who makes a clan will really mean it that way, but it also means that there will be a lot of people who just don't bother with it. For those that can't afford it, and for those that can but find it to be a huge waste of money, it would be a dead update. Instead, I would think of some other requirement for founding a clan...maybe it would increase the fee of membership in Runescape (honestly, $5 isn't THAT much)? I personally think Jagex should leave clans alone (and they've been doing a good job with it so far). Almost everyone in clans wants them to have an update for clans, but the day Jagex does, all of those people will just complain about how bad the update is and how it will bring the downfall of clans as we know it. It would change clans a lot more than most people really care to think about, and that kind of change never goes over well with the community. :?
  2. Not long ago when it was just DI and Gladz competing for the #1 spot, Gladz beat DI in numbers but lost as far as levels go. There were probably some lesser known clans with a greater member count, but as far as the top ones Gladz were the largest then, unless I'm mistaken.
  3. I never actually knew that rule existed...it's been a while since I've made an account, so that's probably why. But if they have that 13+ rule, why does Jagex insist on censoring language to high hell? I'm pretty sure that the word "crap" is acceptable for teenagers...
  4. I know it was definitely possible to have not heard of every single clan in 2002 for a fact.
  5. I made my clan on October 25, 2002. That's very early RuneScape-Classic  Yesterday I got rid of another clan, one left :D Got any proof whatsoever that your clan existed in 2002? Didnt think so. You managed to get 80 combat in 4 years play time.. If you had played 1 hour a week for that 4 years you would be about lvl 105. Judging by your spelling in 2004, you were about 10 years old back then. Your requirements are pathetically low, any clan that has lasted since 2002 has reqs over 90 comb, most are 110+ why would yours be the exception? lol. Why make stuff up? In 30 seconds, I found out that the current forum they use is 2 years old. Of course, the possibility that they switched forums is very high, but aside from that, 2 years is enough time to prove that your standards mean nothing. Not everyone spends their time training to be 110+? You don't have to be 110+ to pk. Bigger isn't always better, and not EVERYONE wants to waste their life clicking and clicking. Maybe some people just want to play the game? That's what a LOT of pkers on RSC did; just creating different pures with different stats. I'm not saying he started at 2002, but I'm saying that you have no reason to run your mouth. Think about it.
  6. I think that the best system for those categories is the voting system; rather than a bunch of people making their own lists on their own posts, we could have several different categories like Deschain said, and people would vote on the best for them. A mod or whomever working on it would look at these posts, and then print the number of votes for each clan on the main topic. That's because a lot of the categories he mentioned are pretty arbitrary, like "Clan Friendliness", so personally I think it would be easier for people to pick out the best rather than write a whole LIST about it. War and pking strength probably wouldn't have to go by the votes. That was just a thought that popped into my head.
  7. Maybe now, but back in 2001 I don't think there was an age requirement to play Runescape.
  8. Not trying to be horrible but I think you need to correct your grammer (not very good for a mod!). Don't you mean "grammar"? :-s Honestly... Sorry 'bout posting it in the wrong forum, by the way.
  9. I'm not one to care about post counts, but I've just now realized that I'm not getting any posts added onto my count from this forum. Is this supposed to happen, or is it some error? If it's supposed to happen, I personally think that should change. Clan Discussion is a legitimate forum like any other; why should posts here not count?
  10. Well, you can put whatever clan you want in your signature too...so it's not much of a change. It's minor, but it's kind of neat.
  11. Interesting idea...any more details on it though?
  12. Well no, your baiting me so dont act all puzzled about it. And im not flaming, im stating fact. Wait, I don't think we're on the same page. :( I'm not trying to bait you, and I am actually puzzled...and I didn't say you were flaming.
  13. I kind of would have thought it was obvious...so that you don't get topics locked for flaming? :-s Saying that a clan cheated and that you have proof of it, but won't post because you refuse to just say it without flaming is just kind of an odd thing to do if you think about it.
  14. Id rather let VR have their recruitment topic than getting it closed due to flaming (Y) If you show proof and act respectful, it's not flaming. If you have no proof and can't be respectful, you shouldn't be listened to anyway.
  15. Marqouth, can you post on here rather through pm...or at least state why you can't post it here? If you want to say VR cheated in wars, proof, or at least Examples are needed. Otherwise it's as good as slander. I'm not saying they never did, but I'm interested in this...and I'm not just going to believe they cheated because one or two people said so.
  16. I don't really know many of the names on that list, but it's funny nonetheless. Cookies to whoever did that. ...Wait, are they serious about a hitlist?
  17. It really depends. I'm fortunate and have excellent friends that I can trust, so I'm usually leading a clan with two co-leaders. For one long stretch though, two of my friends quit and it was just me. The clan worked out fine, but it was a lot more work; so I prefer working with others to even out our load. We all get a bit of slack that way.
  18. Heh, I remember when I went on both Runevillage and Tip.it for clan discussion...now they're both empty. :? I'll try to help Tip.it by posting when I can.
  19. Sabres Gladz The Blacknights Pretty much any Syndicate/The Alliance clan. Stability > Power anyday.
  20. I registered. I'll probably pop in from time to time and see where this is going...
  21. you sure your tlaking about the real "Zeonice Force" because they were #1 clan in Runescape for like a year like in early RS2 and late RSC ...Zeonice Force?
  22. it's not like all the good clan names are 'taken'. If you have a really good name, it probably means that it hasn't been used before. If it's been taken already, it's really not all that good and original. I don't really think clan names have gotten worse over time, though...they've always been cliche, and always will be. Usually they don't make any sense or are just totally unoriginal. And clan names have nothing to do with fear. It's all about their ability in the wilderness that could cause fear. And if you 'fear' clans, there's something wrong with you. If I'm being outclassed I just accept the fact that I'll probably be sent to Lumbridge.
  23. Runescape did NOT start in 1999 hate to tell you. the original release to the public was jan 4 , 2001. anything before that were a select few that know the gowers personally or from CW. He never said Runescape started in 1999. "It originally started in 1999, but it wasn't a RuneScape clan then."
  24. You are. The Sabres formed in Cyber Wars, another game, and "Tha Clan" formed in Cyber Wars after the Sabres. Once Runescape was launched, Sabres and Tha/The switched to that game, although I don't know which one switched over first. I sort of forget where and when the Gladiatorz came in, but they certainly weren't the first.
  25. There are some things that both games are better at than each other, so it's hard to pick a winner. Back when RS2 didn't come out, RSC's wildy system was really good. In fact, it's really better than RS2's...in RSC, there was much more of a sense of danger in the wilderness. You couldn't run and eat whenever you wanted to, you could only walk, and so there was always the threat of getting into a closed area. In RSC you could actually be trapped and cornered, you could actually be killed even in extremely low level wilderness (level 1 pking in RSC = still pretty deadly, somehow) RS2 is more quest and skill based, and pretty much everything besides the wilderness has benefitted from its engine. Still, in the wilderness there's no sense of danger at all. As long as you aren't teamed by some enormous clan, you're really safe...in fact, sometimes even enormous clans can't stop you. In my opinion, it wouldn't hurt to stretch the wilderness (f2p and p2p) up vertically, so that it took more time to run from one end to the other. When running, it takes really no time at all to get out of the wilderness even if you're at the gds. The only other fixer of that is binding, but then what about 1 v 1 melee fights? Or rangers? So yeah. Right now I favor RS2 over RSC, but I admit that RS2's wilderness is nothing like the old one.
