soul wars cape
Pretty sure all you need to do is drop the one you have, ask for a new one, buy it and change the color then pick up the one you dropped. Just be quick about it as the chat sequence can be quite lengthy.

Only drop for 270 Bones. Cant complain though, easily raked in profits with normal drops alone. <3: DK's

27-May-10 Castle wars improvements
For the full set you need to wear the shield too, so you will only get that bonus with 1 handed weapons. CLS still WRECKS with it though, but the castle wars armor is simply just to little defense. Its excellent for flag hunting people outside your base, as combined with the CW-brace you can almost 1 hit someone with a DDS. But you'll need to bring normal armor too if you want to survive past the perimeter of the opponents base. The armor also lacks alot of accuracy (since you need to wear a shield) so its not perfect to use the entire game. Another thing I noticed is while holding a flag your def is shot to [cabbage]. While tanking in max melee and max mage-def gear + steel titan and praying, players hardly missed on me. I got dds'd from 800+ to 0 hp in one combat round. It appears if you are holding your flag, anyone attacking you has a 200%+ accuracy bonus on you, not including the bonuses for CW braces. So holding your own flag is VERY difficult unless you are pro at kiting and have a team of mages to help you. I think the fact losing flags on rocks now puts it to the side adds an interesting twist. The really isn't a safe way to horde your own flag anymore, which they did a good job with. You still have to work to get your flag back, but its a lot easier to do so.

- chaotic weapons and shields
longsword has more stab i believe. Both Longswords and Rapiers damage are halved at corp, so neither of them are a good option. The only weapon that is not damage halved at corp is the Z spear and possibly SoL (Source?). The Rapier is good for monsters or players with low defense. Maul is the best PvP KO weapon, and CLS is pretty much the best for everything in-between. If you had a choice of which to get 1st, I would go with the CLS as it has a all around usefulness to it. From my friend who uses it to solo Bandos, he said it is far superior than a whip on bosses.- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
If you go to the hall in the part unlocked in EW2, there is an un-open-able door with the body rune symbol on it. EW2 focused around "mind" rune power so EW3 will focus around "body" rune power. So 95% sure its EW3.- Chaotic is better than Divine/Elysian
Wow... typical JaGeX ripping people off. How do you phrase it in a better manner then? Up to 20% is UP TO 20%. Granted many people here missed out this part, but saying that Jagex 'ripped you off'? And even if it's a full 20%/10% absoption, chaotic still isnt't better than divine, at at best on par with elysian. the point made in the opening post wasnt so much about the absorption rate though. The point raised was that because of the better defense stats that the chaotic kite has compared to divine/ely it would arguably be better. As said in the first post: deflecting all damage is better than deflecting some damage. That point is still valid. Valid yes, but I am going to have to say 20-30 more defense stats is not going to matter much in comparison to the 30% damage reduction of the divine. Assuming you got hit constant 100's, the chaotic shield's extra defense would have to account for an extra miss EVERY 1 in 3.3 hits for it to be equal to the divine in terms of total damage taken. I just don't see that happening, but its virtually impossible to prove one way or the other unless you run like a 100k sample size. Is it a good shield? [cabbage] ya it is! Range tanks in PvP with these will wreck especially with the new range prayer coming. It's better than DFS for sure, Ely is arguable since Ely special is random, but I feel divine is still better by far no matter what since most of your defense comes with your other armor not just the shield.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
While sorting my bank, I realized there are to many light blue potions.. None of them are Unf-Pots. Can you name them all? [hide=Answers] Starting at top going right. 1) Water Filled Vial 2) Attack Potion 3) Potion 4) Prayer Potion 5) Summon Restore Potion 6) Extreme Attack Potion 7) Extreme Magic Potion 8) Recover Special Potion 9) Magic Potion 10) Ranging Potion [/hide]- How to check FPS/Ping on RS?
Like said above 70 ping isn't bad at all. Just a general scale: 1-50 Ping = Amazing Connection 50-100 Ping = Good Connection 100-150 = Moderate Connection 150-200 = Bad Connection 200+ = Very Bad Connection As far as lag goes there are 2 types of lag. Server based lag and Player based lag. Sever lag dosen't really have anything to do with your ping rate and will lag you as a user regardless if you are 1 ping or 200+ ping. A lower ping in this case will only mean you wont lag quite as long since your recovery time will be quicker. A player lag is when you have a high ping rate on your end due to lack of connection, slow internet, or internet traffic. How far the server is from your location also has an impact on how good/bad your ping rate is. Anything below 100 ping is excellent and likley will produce no lag at all (except server lag). Anything from 100-150 is ok, and could shoot sudden small lag spike bursts from time to time, but is playable. Anything 150-200+ can be very annoying and be anything from constant small lag spikes to long bursts of disconnection from the server. So try to pick one that is 100 or less, or at worst 150 or less.- Is statius warhammer worth buying for corp?
They are a very VERY useful tool, but in the long run will end up a 50% chance of overpaying for a shield or underpaying. Assuming Corp drops a Sigil an average of every 1000 kills, and each hammer will obtain you 60 kills: with a trio that is 3000 kills or ~50 hammers. Just a rough estimation that based on the average drop rates that have been reported, you would be spending an average of about 200M per sigil you obtain. We are not going to take in account normal drops and say they pay for supplies of overloads and sharks. So really with a hammer (unless you get lucky) you are paying around 200M for a sigil. Its still up to the odds of which sigil you get. You could be paying 200M for a divine, or 200M for a spectral. Not really worth using one unless you REALLY REALLY want a divine as fast as possible and money is no problem, and even then you may not get one. If you do chose to use a hammer, you MUST MUST have your team spec transfer to you. The hammer special stacks on itself, so hitting 6 times with his special will make his defense 11% instead of 34% with 3 hits.- 14 Day Bans for Bots
I do not really support cheating (for myself) as I feel it devalues my own goals, but I don't feel that others cheating devalues the goals I have achieved or am going to achieve. I really don't care if people want to cheat on their own accounts or not, I just never would for myself. I no longer believe "banning" is a suitable punishment for macro's anymore as they just use a throwaway account or just don't care. As an alternative solution I would rather they be set up on a "probation-period" of sorts. What I mean by this is anyone who gets flagged as a "bot" or "macro" has a 1 month period where any xp they gain is at 1/10th the rate, and they can only pick up x-number of item per hour. Doing this allows the bots and players to keep going if they wish, but at a rate even 12 year old's can keep up with. Bot's don't harm me personally so I don't really care much about them. I am not in direct competition with the products they consume/provide, but I can see the stress from those who are. Banning just isn't working anymore and I would like if they implemented more "creative" ways to punish them rather than just taking the whole thing away. This is just an example of course and I don't really mind either way, but I feel like people do things because they are not supposed to. I cant really say for sure, but I think a good approach would be to punish macros putting them at the level of normal players, instead of trying to outright destroy them.- Dungeoneering & System Updates?
This is true in a way, but not as great as you think. What other MMO's do when they have dates like that is put the date at a time they know content will be finished. So instead of having FT:III as soon as its done, they put a date they know it will be finished. So they would say FT:III will be released on May 25th. It would come out that date, because its content will certainly be done by then, but we have to wait 12 more days for them to do that with a set date despite the fact it's already done. So the question is would you rather have a set date you know content will come out, but have to wait longer for it. Or would you rather have content come out once its complete, with a variable date and just a general week. If they just assign a date (like the 25th) and then release it before the intended date, then there is no difference between that and what we have now other than a false day for someday in the future.- Dungeoneering & System Updates?
If Jagex are tired of people whining about when an update doesn't come on a certain week, what makes you think they are going to assign a day, or even an hour to an update? Frankly they just don't know when its going to be ready until it's ready. I mean common, what your asking for is just silly. Example: Say you make your way to a fine dining restaurant. After ordering your meal, you expect it to be cooked and prepared in a reasonable amount of time. You wait 5 minutes, no food yet, 10 minutes, still nothing, 15, still nothing. Now what you are asking for is the cook to come out every 5 minutes and explain what he is doing and why it is taking so long to do it. Asking the cook to give a definite, down to the minute, time when your food will be prepared is just impossible. Asking for him to explain what is going on and how long it might take every 5 minutes just wastes his and your time, since every minute he is explaining is a minute he isn't cooking. And God-forbid if it's not done when he says it should be, it would make you furious and more impatient the food isn't done when promised. The situation here really isn't that different. You can't expect Jagex to give any time table other than a general month when an update will come out because frankly they don't know what might change, what bugs there could be, and what other variables could push the update back. They are sure as [cabbage] are not gonna push out an update that isn't ready just cause the calender says it should be. And if the update is pushed back behind the "set date" that only makes them look bad and people more furious things aren't done when they said it would be. Your asking for something Jagex already said they would not give for obvious reasons. Even big companies like Bungie don't give out release dates until content is completed in production and passed QA.- Dungeoneering & System Updates?
This isn't really a new concept as it already happens with Stealing Creation games, Castle Wars games, ect.. just to name a few. I personally wouldn't worry about it. Updates only happen 1 day a week, so if you feel like the update timer is bothering you, just do 5:4 small rushes on update day. Its basically the same xp as a 5:5 large map/hr anyways, just broken up into 5-8 minute games. Point being, its just like any other activity that takes longer than 30 minutes during a server restart, nothing can be done about it.- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Normally, but since bloom and particles are coupled with FT3 it depends on if they run into any bugs, as graphics always tend to cause more hardware problems than normal content. If we don't see it today, I'd be willing to bet at least early in the week.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
If anything why mage karil... I mean even whip is better than mage.. Not true actually! Did you know that Karil has close to the same melee defense as Guthan and Torag? Also he has almost the same mage defense as Verac as per example I only splashed once (average of about 1/5 splash rate). Ahrim has the highest mage defense of the 6 and thus you cannot mage him. Karil can be maged quite easily and if you don't believe me, go try it! Don't get me wrong, whip + defender + Extremes cut through him like butter, but mage is certainly a viable option, especially since im not using extreme melee pots. If I was going to use those, I would just straight melee all of them, but that's not the point of the video. As per the claws, It was multiple runs and I constantly tweak my inventory every few runs depending on how things preform. I wanted to try range as I used to always melee him, but range was to slow. Now I bring cmb pots for claw specs on Ahrim (cause i'm to cheap to use extremes for like 5 melee hits). Also if DH is my tunnel I only claw spec once so I can use SOL spec for the tunnel to kill him without prayer. And Bacon if you don't like the beginning, either skip past it, or enjoy the music. I left it in there for people who maybe have never done barrows and want to see how to get there.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!

MH'ing is a very general term. Are you speaking of boss hunting, or slayer/general monster hunting? If boss hunting, which boss; since a maul wont do you any good at DK's since you hardly melee there, and some bosses are weak enough CLS isn't as proficient as the Rapier. I know two people with chaos items (one with rapier and one with CLS). From what I have been told by them, the rapier seams to work really well with damage output combined with a defender. 600+ at whip speed and semi-accurate hits. CLS however has the benefit of more attack bonus and can hack away at those tougher to hit bosses such as Bandos or KQ while really piling on some damage. To be honest, and unless someone proves this otherwise, im pretty sure CLS or Rapier + defender can outperform maul on everything except PvP. The maul has a high damage output, but is far to slow to make it effective against NPC's. Really its like comparing an obby maul to a dragon scimitar. Sure the maul hits hard, but against bosses the DPS on the scimitar outperforms it. The only place the maul might be of use on bosses is where you are competing for outhitting your opponent and only get 1 swing to do so, such as w6 bandos. If you ever plan to do BH or pvp though, you may want to consider that maul.- Runescapes simple UI
It could be over done. Imagine hybriding: F1 switches between tank+mage top, f2 switches legs, f3 switches shield, f4 switches weapon, f5 casts ice barrage, f6 equips dds, f7 activates spec, f8 switches prayers..it'd be pretty OP. [/hide] How is it OP when everyone has the same opportunity? because it removes all skill from hybriding/pking. If all the skill in hybriding and pking is from being able to fiddle with the tedious menus quick enough, then something is seriously wrong. Maybe that needs to be addressed, rather than simply denying us a user friendly UI. There is a difference between "easier" and "to easy". For example: Lets just make everyone hit 990 as their max hit. Its fair because everyone can do it and makes the game less tedious because you can kill people instantly. Less time is wasted waiting for your opponent to die. The example above is something that fits in the same guidelines as a UI equipment switch and makes the game "to easy". Part of the skill of hybriding is making choices on what equipment you can switch and how fast you can do it. Making everyone able to do an instant 8 item switch defeats the purpose of the whole choice system on what you can swap during a game-tick. Everyone can switch item and attack styles, but the thing that separates the cream from the crop is the speed which the switches are preformed (by the user). Call it tedious if you want, but take away the speed difference and all you have left is level 3's who don't know about the keys and level 138's who use them with nobody in-between. EDIT: The main reason other MMORPG's have UI quick-keys is mostly because they have tons and tons of different options to chose from. You can't just point and click with 100+ magic spells to chose from. RS doesn't have that and really doesn't need the keys because of this.- Miscellania and Phoenix lair update
Well this and the other answer is correct at the same time. After you complete the quest, money is put into the kingdom as a reward from the quest. Thus, but finishing the quest you start the timer and your kingdom will be at the time you finished your quest. If you take all of the money out and the amount is 0 at the time of the kingdom reset, it will then reset at a new time whenever you put more GP in. So it is the time of the quest completion by default, but can be changed if you take GP out and re-add it at a later time.- What to do @ lvl 35 dung?
Don't solo unless you 100% have to, as solo is about half the xp/hr as you get with team games. If you don't really enjoy the 5:5 Large maps, you can try looking on forums for something called "rushes". Rushes are maps where you don't make any armor or supplies and just go through the map as fast as possible. These games will run you about 2-5k xp (depending on floor) for about 5-10 minutes per map. It averages out to 20-30k xp an hour. Not that fantastic xp, but much better than solo. If you can find a friend who will play with you, a 2:1 small is slightly better xp/hr than a rush team. I would do 5:5 on anything above floor 30 however, as xp there for large maps is well worth the time spent on them.- 12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
Ah but they just may be! In general 4:3, 3:2, and 2:1 (6 Complexity ofc) small map are pretty close if not better xp per hour than a 5:5 Large. The reason for this is, they do not require armor at all. A couple of telports for the team, and a super melee pot when you can buy the seed finishes games extremely fast with highly decent xp. Also with the smaller maps if someone leaves, its no big deal. On a large map if someone leaves 1/4 or 1/2 way through, your SOL. With less people on the map on a 5:5 the chance of death is much higher which brings me to my next point... The big kicker is death. Even on a good team, on a large 5:5 map there is the chance of death. If you have 4 or less because people leave it becomes increasingly riskier. 2 shades and a 100+ brute will wreck you. On a small map the chance for death is dramatically lower, so you have little chance to get any penalties. This alone can make smaller maps quicker than the 5:5 large since your not getting a -8% or more for your xp/hr.- Monster Hunting Page
I was thinking maybe you guys might be interested in a different monster hunting page format that I think people might find easier to get the information they are looking for. This is just a rough example: It would be nice if people can see how dangerous a boss is (in scale to the others) when thinking about which monster they might want to hunt with their friends, without having to read the guides on all of them to decide.- 12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
A little guide I made for my teammates to keep things organized on a 5:Large 30+ floor map. It really does make things go a-lot easier when everyone knows where things are right away. I was playing the role of the skiller in that picture, the other 4 were out in the dungeon killing and harvesting resources. When full they would gatestone and dump off GP/charms/supplies and take anything needed, then teleport back. I kept potions full at all time (melee and prayer), any armor upgrades, Veng runes and teleport runes, and constant growing of herbs. System works quite well for large maps as there is no time wasted, and the team can stay potted and equipped the entire round. PS. The inspect option on the ring is great for seeing who presently has what armor when it needs to be smithed.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
