  1. This makes me sad :( See Completed map. See bugged impassable challenge room to the boss room.
  2. Thanks grammar Nazi :P Changed, but productive comments would be nice too <3:
  3. I was having problems finding the correct ingredients for potions quickly using the K-base guide on Herblore for Dungeoneering. The problem is the K-base is organized by level, and by potion types, so it can be difficult to find what potion is for each individual skill unless you look through each one. I designed a chart instead that organized the potions by each skill, the 2nd's require to make that class of potion, and the level to make the potion under the herb. https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0Aoz7AkXuSwamdHFkZzI4YTl2cU0yR1V0aUpydmxmSEE&authkey=CK7rzLkE&hl=en&single=true&gid=0&output=html Any comments/questions on how to improve this? If it needs to be improved at all.
  4. It's been suggested before, but all they really need to do is bump Construction to complexity 4, and then have F2P only able to access up to complexity 3. That way nothing members would get in F2P and the xp penalty would be across the board.. No P2P in their right mind would do F2P dungeon if this was changed, because it would be the same exact xp on F2P from complexity 1-3 but without the members weapons/armor.
  5. If the weekend were to be announced that late then the market would be even worse. Not really. The problem I have with it being announced 3 weeks ahead of time is: 1) People buy items with only the intent to sell them back right before the XP weekend. This means tons of resources are being bumped up in price so that when people can actually buy them in G.E. the price will be much higher than it would normally be. Perhaps even the same gp/xp than with no bonus weekend at all. That would make the whole update pointless. 2) People hold onto all their resources saving them for weekend update. This means very few potions/food/end products will be made until then, and temporarily cuts the normal supply of these resources in half, thus raising the price when it wouldn't of normally raised at all. After the raise and the event, it all crashes. I would be much happier if the XP weekend was turned into a D&D of sorts where the xp could be activated any 3 days over the course of say.. 6 months? This would at least stagger the event so you wouldn't have mass buyouts. It would also "stimulate" the economy over a much longer period of time rather than rising everything up 2 weeks and then crashing everything.
  6. I think the reason they didn't do that is because even they don't know when an update will be ready. Its more like a work in progress instead of "it should be done in X ammount of hours." If they told people the update would be on Friday every week, and then updated on a Wednesday then people would STILL complain saying they were planning on taking Friday off and now that will be to waste. Then there would be the people who complain and troll about how "Why does Jagex bother saying the update is on Friday if they update in the middle of the week." If they had to hold the update to Friday every week, and the update was ready on Wednesday, then they would have 2 days where the upload team sits around and twiddles their thumbs. And the next weeks update would suffer if it took more than 5 days to prepare for it. In short, it would take more time for the to evaluate a "guess" at when the update would be out, a guess that always changes. Companies like Blizzard just hold an update days if not weeks after it is ready to release it. Do you really want Jagex to sit around doing nothing while an update is ready just so they have have an exact set date for an update to come out? Or can you just patiently wait for them to finish it and release it once it's ready?
  7. If they are chopping logs. The fact that Yew or Magic logs have not deviated from their natural curves while hatchets have, means people buying them are using their hatchets to cut Ivy or willow logs. If there was a steady increase in the number of people buying hatchets for chopping trees there should also be a increase in the number of logs produced (and thus a lowering in price of the logs). But I don't see the price of logs lowering on any chart (except maples: See Kingdom bug). So all I can see is people buying hatchets for Ivy. The thing about stuff like hatches is, where the heck would you lose them? The only way they would exit the game is if people chopped with them in PvP worlds or Botters using them were banned. If the majority of people using them were cutting ivy, then its just a saturation of the supply in hatchets. It has no/little increase in net effect because the value of their hatchet for resale has decreased since they purchased it and Ivy yields no profit except nests.
  8. Efficiency is always good for an individual, but not always for a group as a whole. Dragon hatchets have been steadily falling in price the past 12 months (and took a rather quick jump down at the clue update). If you become so efficient at cutting down trees, before you know it you have cut down the whole forest. The same thing is happening with items like the dragon hatchet where people are killing them to the point they wont be a valuable drop anymore. DK's were never designed to have 60-70+ kills an hour while standing in the center, but now it can be done with ease. Sometimes you need inefficient people killing something instead of only efficient people to keep drops at the value they should be. This is an issue that wont be fixed until Jagex releases higher level boss monsters. Not necessarily monsters like corp that hit 500's though prayer, but bosses you can barley stay an hour with a yak, unicorn, overloads and maxed gear.
  9. @RC Bots: Makes me want to buy a cannon just to put it outside or the rune-store and leave it there. :P OT: Dekays Still are <3. All the pictures below are 1 hour of drops. [hide] [/hide]
  10. It depends what you are talking about when you are risking? Are you talking about PvP or monster hunting? I wont say anything on PvP since I don't do that but for PvM: My point of view is that reducing risk is not really a loss in efficiency in the long run. If getting 12 arma solo kills instead of 13 arma kills a trip bothers you, then don't read my post. Weapons and Offensive levels help you kill monsters faster. Armor (ignoring amulet/ring/gloves) has nothing to do with killing things faster. The +8 str bonus from bandos is not going to keep you from getting crashed from someone risking half that amount with -8 of you. As per the armor slots that do give offensive stats, I think people overestimate the importance of a few offensive points. +1 on a ring (onyx over dtsone) is going to be such a marginal increase in your equipment it would take you thousands of kills to even see the difference one would make over the other. If the dice has to roll between 1:300 to 1:301, the odds are so minimal to roll that +1 more in accuracy that it is an un-necessary risk. When I say un-necessary risk I do not mean to say you should not bring it because it isnt better. If by all means you feel the +1 keeps you alive, then take the item. But an un-necessary risk will mean the benefit you will see from the item will be so small in the course of an hour you might only notice a half of a kills difference. I think to many people feel that you HAVE to risk to be proficient. They forget you can still be 99% proficient without risking. There is plenty of gear in this game that gives smaller portions of stats and has very low risk value. Example: My armadyl setup only risks about 200k (not including bolts) while my friend risks ~20-30M+. Whats the difference? I have about -10 range attack, -20 magic defense, -30 melee defense and +2 more prayer than he does. When we duo I ushally end up out of supplies just before he does or sometimes after. When you already have stats in the 200's and 300's, a +10 or +15 is such a small increase it dosen't matter anymore. If kree is going to hit though your +170 magic defense, she is going to do it regardless if your +170 or +185. Risk = Reward, however. Unnecessary Risk = Reward. There is a difference between "risking" and risking things that are so marginal there will be no noticeable increase in reward.
  11. Void is a little funny the way it works. The reason for this, is that void is a end multiplier when it comes to accuracy and damage. For example with ranged Void: When calculating your hit accuracy, your equipment attack bonus will be added with your ranged level accuracy, and then BOTH of those will be multiplied by 10%. So in actuality the Void set not only uses 10% of your armor bonus for your ranged accuracy bonus, but 10% of your ranged level as well. The same thing goes with your max hit. Your range level + ranged strength bonus is added to provide a hit. That hit is then multiplied by 10% giving you a 10% bonus of your ranged strength and ranged level combined. This is why Void is often seen as better than d'hide for the reason the 10% accuracy applies to both level and equipment bonuses. It is difficult to say Void is better than Armadyl because Void takes 10% of the ranged level for accuracy while Armadyl does not. We do not know how much ranged level plays in part for accuracy compared to ranged armor bonuses. I feel as if they are very close to the same accuracy, so I would use Armadyl for places you need defense and Void at places you don't. On a personal note, on slayer task Armadyl & black d'hide will outperform void 100%, since you get 15% att/str (slayer helm) + the amazing accuracy bonuses of the ranged armor.
  12. What's wrong with .jpg? In this case it was obiviously the superior choice  Besides the fact that .JPG makes the image lower quality? So you don't know how to save images properly? Not everyone uses paint to save their images you silly boy. If you have problems with .JPG you might want to try irfanview for saving your images instead. It's a nice freeware software with great image saving options! Not saying that .png is always the worse choice. http://sam.ihku.fi/uploads/hit_types.jpg http://sam.ihku.fi/uploads/hit_types.png Exactly the same quality, compare the sizes ;) sure they're the same quality: horrible. look near the ropes on the fence to see the artifacts of saving in jpg format @Quote train above Actually, .jpg (short for JPEG) is far less quality when made from the origional image because the purpose of .jpg is to compress the image. See quote below. .png does not compress the image as .jpg does and uses the picture up to the maximum 24 bits of color depending on what the image needs. Because of this the .png file is bigger, clearer, and overall better (except for animations). The reason Jagex does not use .png (despite the fact the .png format can have less distortion) is because .png formats have trouble working on lower versions of IE browsers since they were developed past the point the browsers were created. Jagex is all about using a format even people from the dark ages can see, so they use .jpg. This is also why many big corporations use the .jpg and .gif formats instead of the newer .png Also as far as translation of file types. A .png -> .jpg will lose quality because the .jpg compresses the 2nd image. .JPG -> .PNG will not lose quality since the png image was already compressed in the first picture. And for the hit splats, I think they could be a very nice addition to the game. It might be useful in certain areas, for example proving what attacks Corp really uses. There isn't really evidence that all his "long range" attacks are magic and not ranged because he ignores armor and some prayer. It will be interesting to see if that is the case.
  13. Sniped Arma cape though G.E. and got Croz from a nice guy who traded it. I like the look alot ^.^
  14. Wrong. The 50% debuff applies to all crush, slash, and ranged attack styles, where any weapon set on 'stab' does normal damage. Chaotic weaponry, on the other hand, is universally singled out for the special debuff where all weapons receive the 50% drop, regardless of what attack style the person is using. Vesta's Longsword (which is ranked #5 is most efficient melee weapons) set to attack does normal damage, where a chaotic longsword would be halved. So until a chaotic spear comes out, the evidence (universal debuff on Chaotic) points that it would be debuffed. Look for a video of a lbs being used at crop. Tell me if it does full damage. Actually I thought it was: · Corp is weak to stab · 50% reduction on all non-spear weapons · An additional 50% reduction on all chaotic weapons. This putting non-spear chaotic weapons @ 75% reduction, and a chaotic spear at 50%?
  15. Someone needs to cite me on this, but i've heard from several sources that all chaotic weapons get a 50% nerf on corp? If that holds true for spear as well, it wont be as good as people are hoping it will be. The other dungeon rewards to look very appealing however. I'm really hoping the Primal Longsword will be in this next batch. I like the LS as a weapon and don't really wish to get 92-120 for it. If that's the case I guess I'll be happy with Prom for quite awhile.
  16. We won't see any immediate benefit of the Z buffering update. Or would we! Perhaps the reason Z buffer was coupled with the TT items was that some of the items used the new Z buffer engine. They did say the buffer was not just for emotes but items being pushed past the current box too. Perhaps the reason they are having so much trouble is some of the items have to be downgraded from Z buffer to the old mechanic which could be quite difficult. Might be a wild theory but it is possible.
  17. Was dancing with supreme and thought this was kinda funny. Look at where I pushed supreme in relation to the ladder :P
  18. But you're almost maxed. A whole lot of manipulators don't have many maxed skills, mostly combats. I think the best fix for price manipulation is to go whole-hog CommunistScape. Make it where you can only own X amount of high-level items before the GE starts ignoring your offers. For example, you can only own 3 copies of an AGS-- one to use, one to placehold, one to lend. You can only own 2 copies of a spirit shield/sigil-- one to use and one to placehold. If you own more than that, any buy offers for more of those items will never fill. These limits would NOT apply to discontinued items. This would go a long way towards destroying the manipulator clans, as people would no longer be able to snipe expensive, rare items or perform complete buyouts in the GE. Sure, people would still junk-trade, but eventually people would be able to get a CS'd item with really rare items like spirit shields. I would love a concept like this where you are limited on what you have, or at least can buy. There is an issue with this however. With merchant clans not being have to pick up higher classed items they will move onto raw materials. The only way to stop that is to put a limit on raw materials as well. Before you know it you will have a limit of 100 logs or 100 coal per hour that you can buy from the GE. Granted limitings things to 100 per hour for raw materials might not be a bad thing in foresight, but it would change the game-play of skilling in a direction i'm not sure it should go. As per the OT of banning, Instead of making them pay a GP/Item fee to have their bank why not introduce a real life fee instead. Currently the payment for most members is 5$ a month. Why not make it so that every botted offense you have been proven to commit, your subscription for that account also goes up 5$ in addition to your botting punishment. Bot once, its 10$ a month and a 14 day probation period. Bot twice, a 30 day probation and 15$ a month, ect.. This increase in money would at least give Jagex some more cash from members who break the rules. That is more cash Jagex can spend on extra workers going out and catching these bots. If the fee was introduced nobody would continue to bot on an account if it got caught. Also who in their right mind is going to buy an account from a botting company that requires 15 or 20$ a month to play on it. Not only would the fee cut down on botting, but RWT'ed accounts which botted too.
  19. Mommy why are these crybabies using straw man arguments? Because they realize there is no mature way to validate their rage at a week delay on a video game, honey. By the way, $90,000 would equate to approximately 18,000 accounts quitting over this, or all of Jagex's world servers exploding simultaneously many times over. I know Geoff Iddison holds a grudge, but I don't think he has access to the kind of explosives you'd need to cause damage on that level. Please clarify the original point then; I don't quite see how that can be viewed as a straw man argument. I used that example because my previous boss was fired for that exact reason-- a simple mistake which cost the company dozens of thousands of dollars. Using "they're only human" is not a strong argument here. I don't understand how employees at Jagex can still have jobs if they consistently keep botching updates. The difference is they arn't botching them. Jagex never said they do WEEKLY updates, they only said "frequent updates". People have come to expect them to be weekly, but Jagex never advertised that to be the case. Heck even in the "members benefits" trailer they say MONTHLY updates. What I would really prefer is removing the BTS and putting in status updates (every 2-3 months or so) saying X Y and Z are in production, and will likley be released in the coming weeks in no particular order. The problem with twitter hints is nobody knew what was going on. The problem with BTS is people think BTS is a timetable not a future updates page. I think if they throw all the upcoming updates out there and don't say the order, people will know what is coming, but have no reason to expect update Y should here by X date.
  20. By the looks of it they may actually be clue holders; like Uri, which you must complete some sort of task from them to progress on with the clue. I'm just judging this by the fact the observatory is a clue location, and the way they say "Danger" doesn't make them sound like a reward/familiar of any sort.
  21. Think the meerkats might be a new reward from the treasure trails? Paths interlace and intersect. May runes match where they meet... What could that mean? Maybe line up the different kind of runes in their own rectangle line. It looks like all the ones that intersect lines are circled in different colors. 90% sure you going to have to make all the ones that are circled the same rune type. The arrows simply rotate everything on that circular sting 1 space in the direction of the arrow. Doesn't sound *to* hard, but we'll see.
  22. Ya the icefiend has always been like this, however I don't see them carrying that limit over to any current bosses. Some of the new ones in higher floors may have it as a restriction in Batch 2. One reason I don't see them carrying it over is that some bosses (such as Sagittarius) are meant to have gate stones used to kill them as it makes the boss much easier to kill when you use them.
  23. As far as Sara teams go, Veracs >= CLS >= Rapier = Godsword. She is very weak to crush, and special included, Veracs hits very accurately. A team of Veracs WILL beat a team of godswords almost every time. Coupled with claws (easy since flail and claws are 2h) it makes for quite a lethal combo. I know this from experience because if you have a Verac team, you will have no problem taking a world. That being said, a group of us do LS & FFA Sara from time to time (all 138) and some have used CLS, some Rapier, and Veracs. CLS wins when you get lucky and hit 600's, since it has such a high damage output, but Veracs is much more consistent with winning. Rapier has a nice speed, but lacks the attack bonus to do alot of consistent high damage. Rapier is much like the CLS in that a few lucky hits can win you the kill, however the damage is not that consistent. Maul I have yet to see myself, however I would think it would be super accurate on her if flails can hit consistently. The question is more if the lack of speed can account for the damage being dealt. On a Sara solo I could see the maul as the most useful weapon of the chaotic. This being the fact you can hit, run away and eat, hit, run away and eat, etc.. without losing attack cycles, since the attack speed of the maul is so slow. I have yet to see this however and cant really voucher for it until someone has tried it.
  24. It seems that you can get onyx rings from WCing. -Ry No, I'm afraid the ring in his picture is an imbuned ring. Meaning, its fake. Onyx "stabilized" in price since the GE price finally reached the player demand price.
  25. I think there is a time and a place for correct grammar. As long as the point gets across from A to B, I don't think it really matters that the medium that the content is. That being said, there are certain circumstances where getting the point across from A to B requires correct spelling & grammar. For a formal paper, correct spelling and grammar is important. From anything in a professional standpoint, correct spelling is very important. For playing a game, I am more worried about getting the fact that the tank needs to move before he get's KO'ed, instead of worrying if all of my words are spelled correctly. Regarding the Picture.. Its definatly weather or not it affects your view of what is more important. Than again, their are alot of wierd people with a lose sense of what important is. But in all seriousness. Firefox spellchecker = win. My view is, let the people who spell words wrong, spell them wrong. If you try and correct them they likely wont change how they spell the word anyways, making you and the other person only more frustrated.
