  1. Also don't forget: - Penguin Hunting - Fist of Guthix - Dungeons of Deamonheim (It's entrance is connected to the wilderness). Corp I'm ok with people being able to PK you on the way to the lair. Corp is supposed to be a hard boss, and introducing an additional danger attribute that might have you lose items more often is fine with me. People used to do KBD in the upper wilderness, so I don't think corp will be all that much different, especially since its lower in the wilderness than KBD was. I don't think things are going to change that drastically though. I get the feeling that BH +1 worlds, and PvP worlds will still be around the way they are, just with added full drops. So aside from the 7-10 worlds that are marked for PvP, nothing else is pvp. I wish they would take the time to convert the worlds so that pvp is in the wilderness in all the worlds, but I just don't see that happening.
  2. Siliske was confirmed not to make an appearance until the ritual quest. Unless the door is related to the quest, it can't be him. Bilrach isn't sealed away since he released the "strange power". So unless the door is related to the ROTM ritual, it won't be either. Azzandra said he does not know how many mahjaratt still exist, and that there used to be 100's. It could be another mahjaratt we have yet to hear of, or may not be any of those at all. Just expect a curve ball and don't assume it has to be Dragonkin or mahjaratt.
  3. The mahjaratt seam very unlikely to me, considering none of them are sealed away that we know of. The only ones that were sealed away did so themselves to escape Zomeguals (sp?) wrath, or by Zomegual/Lucien (sp?) himself. If one was behind a trapped door somewhere, his notes would have most likely indicated that. Dragonkin are maybe possible, however I say unlikely to this too. Considering even the mahjaratt consider them a myth, I would doubt them to exist in a place where lots of people were around. If they were there, you would expect to see symbols of their race around, as they did in wilderness fortress. I'm guessing by the symbols on the door, that whatever is behind the door is hated by all 4 races. Remember that the temple existed before the Godwars, so it is possible the 4 races united before the wars began to seal away this foe (or prevent it from escaping). This does sound alot like Zaros, but I don't think Zaros will be making an appearance until the ritual. It's possible to be Zaros, since we don't know the place that he was sealed. There may be a portal to another realm behind that door. I cast my doubts that it's any of the above though, and that it might be something completely new. If Jagex made the lore to start with, they could easily add in new lore that co-exists with current lore that was supposedly "lost" until now.
  4. This point is exactly what separates the people from the far left, and the far right. The people on the extreme left side feel that everything they did in the past is worth something, and because it took them 10 months to get 99 runecrafting everyone else should also endure the same pain. People on the extreme right side feel like they want every update to make skills easier and quicker so they don't have to do things they don't enjoy for long, to reach things they do enjoy. Once they start doing something they enjoy, they could care less about the time spent to get there. I sit on the right side, since I feel like I would rather have everyone in the game have all 99's in a year, then people who have to play for years and years grinding to only then achieve something that is "fun" 5 years down the road. I do not compare myself to other players and don't feel I am better than them because my rank/stats are better. Not everyone shares this opinion with me however. Even IF one skill could be completed (1-99) in 30 days time, it would still take over 2 years to complete the entire game (not including 99-120 dungeon). At what point does the game turn from a gentle level game to a grindfest? I don't expect Jagex to change their position on the fact that they want to keep players skilling for 5+ years. In-fact, I know they wont change it.
  5. But it would make Jamflex less IRL gp. With MMO's there are typically 2 types of game-play marketing strategies for "long term players". 1) The length of time to "max-out" is extremely long, in hopes players will get hooked on the cycle of obtaining the maximum levels. Games like Runescape follow this strategy in hopes that you play for a long long time to get levels. 2) The time to get "max levels" is relatively short, but players are kept around by lots of activities they can do at high levels. It seams like MS is just switching from play-style #1 to #2. Jagex is likely adding new content to lower levels so that people get hooked thinking all levels get tons of content, and don't find out that high levels don't get much at all until its to late and they have invested years into the game. I cant see Jagex ever switching away from play-style #1.
  6. Do Note that (e) charged items, such as Neitiznot Helm (e) charged for summoning scrolls do NOT have any soak properties of their normal version. I would assume this bug to be fixed in next weeks update.
  7. Curious, how did you derive to a 2.8% damage loss for 8 range bonus. Range worn items only increase accuracy and have no effect on your range level, and thus no effect on damage directly. Also, the majority of your accuracy appears to come from your range level, as I can still hit bandos armor (200+ range def) in "ranger tank" gear, which is usually around 110-140ish range bonus. I don't notice much of a jump in accuracy from 120 to 190. I feel like 2.8% DPS is very high for a small bonus that doesn't really appear to increase your accuracy all that much. Ya its 2.8% of ranged armor accuracy, but not 2.8% of your overall DPS, since ranged level is also included in DPS and is weighed more than armor? I would argue to say that investing in getting extreme range potions, or overloads, would be more worth it (in terms of overall DPS) than the GP spent for ranger boots. TO OP: Really anything goes for slayer mobs, just keep your range bonus above 110 or so and you can pack on as much melee def as you want. Veracs Skirt is a decent alternative if you want additional melee defense. BSS is a good choice too.

Well, if you want to go ahead and make the assumption that he was not involved at all, the only way someone could get your password is via a keylogger or RaT. 1) Make sure your runescape password is never the same as any other password you use for any website. 2) Make sure your recovery questions are only things YOU could ever know. Recovery questions like what your hair color is, are easy to figure out if someone has access to your page on social media sites like facebook. 3) Make sure your email account that you signed up to runescape with is secure. The company Jagex deals with for membership information, sends a invoice to your email account every time you make a membership purchase. With that invoice account number, combined with a few of your recovery questions, someone can easily recover your account. You might even want to consider changing your Jagex registered email to a new one. 4) Make sure your antivirus is up to date. You can talk to the guy's in the tech forum if you want more info, but there are several free programs that can clean out unwanted malware and trojans that antivirus software might not pick up. Some of the ones I would recomend are: SuperAnti-Spyware (Free edition) http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html?tag=mncol;3 or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (This one is better in my opinion) http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol;1 5) Make sure you never join a skype call or IRC channel that you do not trust. Players can ping you, and get your ISP IP adress. With the correct IP address, and some recovery questions, they can recover your account. 6) Make sure to always bank your items before logout. Unless you got hit with an advanced keylogger (which it looks like you didn't) then the "Hacker" will likely never be able to get into your bank account. 7) NEVER PM the person if they are on your account. By talking with them, they may learn more details about you, to recover your account at a later time. Also, people hack accounts to annoy people, so by letting them know you are angry about it only encourages them to continue on your account.
  9. If you think that is bad, the people who put on tank gear, snipe a spawn and start using flowers/carrot on them are worse. People not wanting kills, just taking them to make everyone else mad. I had like 100 points saved up, which I got 1 kill out of before they ran to 0. Not gunna bother going back until next week when everyone else is done and is busy playing with the damage soak update. With a connection like mine, its not even worth trying to waste time when I can't take kills over anyone else. Silly that Jagex didn't decide to make it instanced.
  10. Depends on how good the person using them is, what commands thry got and whether you have rangers/mages. Hally kids r no problem for mages n rangers Ya, formation is all about what strategy you are using. Like myself, I use a mixture of scouts, a ranger, a mage and 2 champs. Mages are good late-game tools, if you can protect them long enough. My mage is tucked away in my bottom corner surrounded by 2 champs and my scouts. My biggest threat would be archers (since scouts cant rush my mage), which can be easily scout rushed if your opponent is spread out. So being spread isn't always the best idea, however it depends on your strategy. Unit placement in general isn't "needed" to be successful against an opponent, but can amplify your strategy if your setup demands a well-placed setup.
  11. It depends how the shield is set up with the damage soak update. If the arcane gets, say a 12% soak from melee attacks over 200, that would slightly raise the price. Although this may be trumped by the DFS which could have similar soaking abilities, and better melee stats to begin with. The same could be said for spectral. It's really hard to say how much of an impact the absorb update will have on prices of anything until we actually see the numbers they knock off. Off-topic to Ely and Divine. Ely and Divine are, and always will be, prime MH'ing tools for high level solo'ers. Even if the every day Joe does not need the extra absorption from a Ely or Divine, Solo'ers will always covet these two shields since taking less damage is always better. The only situation where the shields would become useless is if you could get enough healing to not eat any food besides uni or bunyip via normal armor absorption. So I really cant see Ely or Divine being put on the shelf after the whole "pre-update, its gunna get nerfed!" craze is over. If they do drop, Ely will be the first to go. Divine is just to valuable as a MH weapon to fall below 400-500m. They might lose their street value though, but most of the street value is the shields rarity, and not its usefulness.
  12. We will have to wait and see where exactly the soak value is applied to see if dragon claws will take a big hit. If the soaking is applies only to hits over 200 and acts as your 1st hit is still the normal damage, and you hit 400-200-100-100, only the 400 and 200 hit would be soaked while the remaining two hits would not be. This would put the DPS higher than an AGS could achieve with the same soaking. AGS = 800 * (20% soak) = 640 TOTAL CLAWS = 400-200-100-100 * (20% soak) = 320-160-100-100 = 680 TOTAL OR it could be AGS = 800 * (20% soak) = 640 TOTAL CLAWS = 400-200-100-100 * (20% soak) = 320-160-80-80 = 640 TOTAL Really depending on how the soak is applied to claws means you might or might not deal more damage on your last two hits, making AGS gravely inferior as a special weapon. Assuming the claws keeps on the 1st example, hitting hits like this: Claws 380-190-95-95 * (20% Soak) = 304-190-95-95 AGS 760 * (20% soak) = 608 Claws = 684 AGS = 608
  13. I havent seen anyone really talk about it, so i thought I would share this. Not only did accumulator get a quick-buy update but the upgraded version (the alerter) also got a +1 range attack and +1 magic def boost over the accumulator. It's not a big boost, but every extra bonus point is nice.
  14. Your insane, the only armor with damage reduction is dung shields, elysians, and divines. The rest only reduce the chance of hit, unless jagex made an exception for korasis sword and only korasis (which is very unlikely). In other words, unless you have actual evidence that mage defence has a damage reduction that exclusively applies to korasi sword specs, get your head out of your ass. Also remember that the single combat spec is different than the multi. Single-combat is 50-150% of your max hit, 100% of the time. Multi-combat is just 100%, 50% and then 25% of your dice roll. Single combat hit is never reduced by anything except divine, Ely, and Dung shields absorbing magic. Magic protection prayer *might* reduce it, but I have not seen conclusive evidence that it does. Multi combat is just a (dice roll * 100% /2 /2), so the hit can miss. Castle wars is multi-combat so you not going to get a 100% hit in castle wars, clan wars, or any multi area. A damage reduction based on defense across the board would easily fix most of the issues. The way to keep it balanced in PvM is to have monsters reduce their damage based on defense as well. Doing so with monsters as well as players keeps bosses difficult, paves the way for harder bosses, while making pvp into more than just 2 combat rounds of who can spec first. It will even reduce kills/hr on bosses boosting the price of monster hunting rewards, which may not be a bad thing.
  15. 1 hour of mining with JuJu pots and the alch method. 1472 total ores 642 banked with juju sprites 830 alched 95,680 total xp in 1 hour (without any other boosters besides lava titan), while making a slight profit. Sprites don't really "speed up" the mining per-say, they only make it easier since you never to drop since you don't get overwhelmed by ores. Add BA horn in there and you could be easily talking several thousand xp an hour, though BA horn would drain fairly quick. Im loving these new pots. ^.^
  16. When fishing and cooking Baron Sharks, make sure to read the fine print. CAUTION: Shark may be radioactive. Side effects could include dizziness, shortness of breath, inability to eat or drink anything, blue urine coloration, bloating, indigestion, upset stomach, abnormal limb growth, and loss of sanity. Now we know why papa mambo is slightly... crazy.
  17. It takes up a few, but not to many. Every herb should be put into a unf pot when you bank it, so there is no need for herbs, unf pots, and finished pots all in your bank at the same time. That alone saves like 5 spaces. Also as far as seeds go, you only need a L-berry and K-berry seed. Herbs should be planted and grow while you hunt to keep them out of your bank. Also there is no need to make potions you have no use for. For example, there is no need to make a fishing potion AND a cooking potion. Both serve the same purpose and you should really just pick one over the other. So were looking at about: 5 spots for finished pots. (+ up to 5 more temporarily if you use partial doses) 5 spots for unf pots. 6 spots for 2nds. (1 for each pot type + striped) 0 spots for herbs. 3 spots for the 3 fruit trees already in pots. 2 spots for berries. 0 spots for herb seeds. 1 spot for traps. 0 spots for flower seeds (they are cheap and you can buy them at the store) 0 spots for noose (cheap and buy-able at the store) In total about 23 spots. Could be a lot worse if you stock up on EVERYTHING, and if you don't have 23 free spots I think its time for some bank cleaning :P
  18. Well there is the deposit box in the southern tracking area, so items not being noteable isnt to much of an issue. I farm herbs while I hunt, and I just pick them when they are ready, mix them to unf pots, and then deposit the ones I know I wont be using to hunt. Same when hunting 2nds I know I wont use right away, but might want later. That helps free up quite a bit of extra inv space, not that you really need more than 10 or so spots hunting them anyways.
  19. You are aware that community content and game content are different groups of people right? 'o.O Adding people onto the game content team likely would not make it any faster since it is kinda hard to have multiple people change the same buggy code at once. In cases like that having 1 person change it is usually faster than multiple, due the the fact it gets confusing when multiple people edit the same material. Its like multiple people trying to fix a flat tire, only 1 can really do the work at a time, the others would just stand around and [bleep] most of the time. Also removing all the community events from the calender we still end up with: Bank Op and Equip Screen Update (BOAESU) 09-Nov-2010 Dungeoneering – The Warped Floors 02-Nov-2010 Behind the Scenes - November 01-Nov-2010 Partying is Such Sweet Sorrow (Halloween 2010) 18-Oct-2010 New Combat Sound Effects 18-Oct-2010 RuneScape Game Bar - New Friends List Feature 14-Oct-2010 Make-X Improvements and Low-level Combat Changes 12-Oct-2010 Aside from the week of the Oct 25th they had off, It's been at least 1 update every week. I don't see how that's lacking in weekly content? Its the content manager's job to decide what updates come in what order anyways, the content team has no say in it.
  20. The one problem I could see coming up in generating such a formula is the lack of ability to see how each value is weighted in addition to other outside variables that we may not even be able to account for. I took a beginners programming class for school and one of the starting programs we created was a random number generator that used the computers clock system to produce a random number pattern. The variables may not be limited to just the stats you see, and because you may not ever be able to identify all the variables, creating a equation to determine accuracy based on only what you see is likely to be inaccurate. Using my example, at :05 seconds a weapon could have a dice which only goes to 200, while at :15 seconds it uses a different dice that might go up to 400. In other words, unless Jagex specifically tells you all the variables in the accuracy equation, and I would bet there are more than just equipment and stats, then trying to generate an equation from it from personal data would be impossible.
  21. The entire game is built on competition. If you choose to compete or not is your choice. Competition has nothing to do with morality, but the things you do after a person crashes might be. Name calling, taunting, and scamming are "unmoral" since they are basically an attack on someone directly in a way they can't really defend themselves. When me and my friends go to DK's we take the highest spawning world we can. If another group beats us after a few kills, we hop. If they don't beat us then the world is ours. Nothing is "unmoral" about this, as it is clear-cut competition for a resource. However, if we were to try and get the Kings to kill them to make them hop, that would be immoral, since its an personal attack at them directly in which they cant really defend against it. So its not really the competing for resources that is wrong, but when people go the extra step to "troll" someone after they lose the resource that is wrong. If you win a resource, be quiet and enjoy the benefits of the item you can gain faster. If you lose a resource, be quiet and hop to a world where you can gain resources faster than someone else. Unless everything becomes instanced, Jagex is basically saying competition is part of the game.
  22. Also an alternative: Assuming you have the hunter level, don't mind hunting a few imps, and are willing to sacrifice -1 inventory spot, you could take advantage of Imp boxes. Imp boxes bank 1 of any item (including item stacks). Once you get your kill, simply activate the box and use it to bank your maul. Once your maul is banked you can freely pick up anything in your opponents pile without risk. This would be more ideal then running all the way to the bank, then back to try and find the pile. Each box has 2 charges, so you could potentially bank your maul and a high level statue if you got one. Keep in mind though if someone engages you in combat, the deposit box window will close.
  23. Perhaps I worded it poorly, but my main statement was that I want high level content coupled WITH low/medium level content, not just exclusive high level content for only high levels. Vise versa should also be the case. If hunter gets updated with 5 creatures from 95-99, they should have at least 1 or 2 creatures in the 1-95 block. If 5 hunter creatures are added to 1-95, at least 1 should be added to 95-99. If a super low level quest is released, it should have "bonus" content for higher level players. I think it would be a poor decision from Jagex to release an update where the only thing you can do that week is to sit around and train the same way you had done the week before. High level and Low/Medium Level content does not, and should not be exclusive. I was not against the OP in the statement that high-level content needs to be added, but rather expressing my dislike for the idea of elitist exclusive content. Low level content always gets the benefit of the doubt, because everyone can do it, making low level content non-exclusive.
  24. I'm sure some people say that, but I also don't understand the desire for exclusive content on this thread. In my opinion, there's no reason you can't couple low & moderate level content with high, and vice versa. Lets take some examples. 1) Gunnars Ground Quest. This quest was very low leveled and easy to complete. Despite this, the quest had additional "high level" rewards offering a nice bunch of crafting xp if you had the levels for it. 2) Dungeoneering Batch 2. This update was very high leveled with content I will never reach for several months. But this was also a low leveled update since it opened several low token items for purchase. The scroll of cleansing was a nice low level update coupled with this high level update. 3) Living Rock Caverns. This update was a moderate level, but offered the current "highest-level" content for players going to 99 with gold ores. It also provided coal ores with a lower level, in addition to fish of a high and moderate level. 4) Extreme potions update. This update had both potions for super high levels (96) and medium to lower levels. So I guess i'm saying.. don't think high level = exclusive. If your for exclusive content, then you only want content YOU can do, and not content for everyone else with levels below you. High level content is not bad, but there is no reason high level content needs to come by itself and be exclusive. Low level content is never exclusive since almost everyone can do it. I'm very much for high level content, but I disagree with exclusive content only super high levels can do. This is not because im to lazy to get the levels for it, but rather want something out of every week. I don't want to sit and scratch my head right after an update saying "oh well I guess I can't do anything new this update except go and train some more". I'd rather say "Oh well I can do some of this content this week, but better train up to access all of the new content they just released."
  25. "High-Level" content isn't bad, but exclusive content is. It all depends on how you are defining the two. If you went back 3 years from now and asked people if bosses like Armadyl or DK's were "high-level" content, a large majority of the population would agree they were. Now if you ask the same question, the majority of people will say they are medium to low level content. So keep in mind that the perception of how "high" content is, is really based on how much the community has advanced. But back to my main point.. High content isn't bad, but exclusive is. For example: Addition of more things to the hunter from levels 50-99 isn't bad, its high level content for people to work towards. However, just splatting a hunter creature with a requirement of 95 would be exclusive because there is hardly anything between 50 and 95. If they do make high level content, the need to fill in the gaps first so that content is not just "exclusive". So my point is not really that high level stuff is bad, because as a high level myself I would like it. But I feel a addition of 10 hunter creatures from 1-99 would be a much better, and less exclusive, update which everyone likes opposed to 10 hunter creatures from 80-99.
