  1. That's because you were using steel arrows; use broad arrows instead. Crystal bow shots are stronger than rune arrows so of course crystal will be hitting harder than steel arrows with the dark bow. At 180k, the crystal bow arrows cost 72gp ea. Broad arrows are cheaper than that
  2. posebility for fight cave with dark bow? its faster then crystal cuz it shoots 2 arrows at once... Yeah
  3. The sad thing is none of them have hides and even after getting their [wagon] kicked they'll come back to fight you again - without hides! They actually think we'll quit "farcasting" them if they complain enough. Idiots.
  4. Magic beats any opponent in any given situation under any circumstances if you know how to use it properly :) Rangers w/ short range: Ice barrage, attack from as far back as possible. Rangers w/ long range: Lure them to an obstacle, freeze them, run to a safe spot so they can't reach you but you can reach them Meleers: Freeze them  Mages: Lure them to an obstacle, freeze them, run to a safe spot and attack Whenever you're attacking someone, you wanna keep attacking with smoke barrage once they're frozen until you see poison damage them. Then you use shadow barrage till hit hits ~5 times - hopefully one of those 5 hits will have lowered their attack. Finally, alternate between ice barrage and blood barrage. Depending on how close you are to your opponent you can hit 30-29 combos on them. Bring range or melee as a secondary weapon (whichever stat is your strongest) in case they take off armor. Keep maging if they switch to hides and pray magic. Full (staff and all) Ahrims is the best for this against melee'rs since every time the set effect hits (like once every three spells), their strength goes down ~5 levels at a time. Now quit whining and go use magic how it's designed to be used
  5. actually its 5 and 5 (None of the specs can go below that, thats what i have found) 5-5 is minimum with rune arrows, 8-8 is minimum with dragon arrows. and yes, the spec dosnt ALWAYS hit high, just like msb spec, it can hit low too.(from my own experiance in a range dm̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôwith dark bow) That explains the 8-8 specs
  6. To elaborate on my comment, I went and tested a few shots on my friend and hit really hard, I hit 70+ specs very frequently. I was wearing max range-boosting equipment, except for a robin instead of a 3rd age coif. I was potted from 99 range w/ the eagle eye prayer. Only took one pic, not as impressive as some other pics I've seen but it's still impressive enough to prove that this weapon hasn't been nerfed. We went to CW next. A guy was there abusing me w/ his Dark Bow and I was shooting him with my MSB. He started healing so I popped out my Dark Bow and hit 38-26 on him for the KO 8-) Fought another guy in CW, KO'd him with another 60+ shot. We went to Pits afterwards, though I couldn't hit very well. I kept hitting the exact same damage from my specs over and over (8-8). Makes me wonder if 8-8 is the minimum damage you can do with the spec. Went to test it at the KQ afterwards, hit some decent specs (30 to 50 damage) and some more 8-8 specs =p I don't think this bow will get nerfed; the msb/Karil's crossbow is better than it in most situations. The best time to use the Dark bow is in a situation when you would normally use a crystal bow or in a situation when you need to use its lethal spec
  7. That's not true, I've hit some insane hits today with the spec
  8. It's not gonna get nerfed, it takes skill to use it effectively.
  9. I went PK'ing with my friend's Dark Bow today. Won two fights, died twice, got one kill. The special attack is 100% accurate, meaning melee'rs can use the bow's special and hit as frequently as a ranger would. The bow is very slow, I've tried many different methods of fighting with it. The best method I found was using the magic shortbow and magic shortbow's special attack. When you don't have enough power to use a special attack, you fire a normal shot from the Dark Bow (dragon arrows or not). It is really difficult to equip the Dark Bow, dragon arrows, and fire the special attack quickly. I seriously doubt this weapon will get nerfed, it's not as great as people think it is. It's like a Great Axe with two separate DDS specs.
  10. World 92 has ~1000 unstrung amulets too :P
  11. Probably Al Kharid cuz that's where all the f2p crafting/smithing takes place I checked AlKharid and Lumby, it's neither of those. I'm on ancients atm, so it might be a while until i get to fally. World 99 charter has ~400 unstrung gold amulets for sale right now ... they cost 875ea so not really worth it :\
  12. Probably Al Kharid cuz that's where all the f2p crafting/smithing takes place
  13. I considered it, but it's really inefficient trying to make all those precooked/raw pies. It's too impractical. For training magic, yeah it's inefficient. But if you're making hundreds of wild pies for the upcoming update like I am... :)
  14. Well superheating has always been better than alching for a variety of reasons. And Bake Pies is like superheating on steroids... You should add bake pies to the list I think I tried doing the hunter skill twice and it said I already have a kit, so you can't keep casting that one for XP And you forgot to state how much XP the construction spell gives
  15. I wrote another Fight Caves guide for Tip.It to use on their main website. I dunno if it'll get published or not, but here it is for those of you who are interested (it's a written guide (no videos) on the Guthan, w/o Guthan, and w/o Defence methods): [hide=The Fight Caves]The Fight Caves By muggiwhplar Introduction The Fight Caves is a player vs. monster mini-game created to test your survival skills. You will be alone against dozens of monsters for the next two to three hours, depending on your stats. To enter the Fight Caves, travel to Karamja and enter the volcano. Once inside the volcano, enter the nearby cave to gain access into the city of TzHaar. The Fight Caves mini-game is located to the west, as well as a bank. Monsters There are seven types of monsters you will encounter in the Fight Caves ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ each of them possesses unique characteristics. Tz-Kih (level-22): These are small and weak, but every time they attack you, they drain your prayer. If they hit a 0, you still lose 1 prayer point. However, the higher they hit means the more prayer you lose. They have 10hp and a max hit of 4. Tz-Kek (level-45): These monsters are also weak; however if you attack them with a melee weapon from melee distance, you will receive recoil damage every time you hurt them. Also, when they die, they split into two smaller versions of themselves. They occupy a 2x2 region so you can lure them and safely range them without repercussions. They have 20hp and a max hit of 7. Tz-Kek (level-22): When a Tz-Kek (level-45) is killed, it will split into two weaker versions of itself. These monsters have 10hp each and a max hit of 4. Tok-Xil (level-90): The Tok-Xil uses both melee and range attacks. However, if you are not within melee distance of it, it will only use range. Thus, range prayer is advised while standing at a distance from it. The Tok-Xil has 40hp and a max hit of 13. Yt-MejKot (level-180): This is a large monster which only attacks with melee. However, it can hit very hard. In addition to hitting hard, it also has the ability to heal itself and other monsters. However, it will not heal anything if you are not within melee distance of it. Killing these monsters from safe spots is essential. The Yt-MejKot has 80hp and a max hit of 25. Ket-Zek (level-360): This monster is very similar to the Tok-Xil (level-90). It uses both magic and melee attacks. However, it will not use melee attacks unless you are within melee distance from it. Magic prayer is essential when attacking this monster. It has 160hp and has a max hit of 49. TzTok-Jad (level-702): This is the final boss in the Fight Caves, as well as the most powerful monster in all of RuneScape. It uses all three forms of attack, however it will not use melee if you are not within melee distance of it. TzTok-Jad has 250hp and a max hit of 97 (Note: he has hit 99̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s on me in the past, but the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâMonster Scan̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ lunar spell says his max hit is only 97. Perhaps they have lowered his max hit since then or the scan spell is just buggy). Yt-HurKot (level-108): In the battle against TzTok-Jad (level-702), four of these monsters will spawn to heal TzTok-Jad when he is at about half-health. While they are generally weak monsters, they are a lethal distraction when you are fighting TzTok-Jad. They have 60hp and a max hit of 14. Note that for the rest of the guide I will refer to the monsters by their combat level. I will refer to TzTok-Jad (level-702) as ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅJad,̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  16. First: Magic Next: Hitpoints Last: I dunno
  17. Quest, Magic, Range, Defense
  18. I wrote a 15-page guide on the Fight Caves to replace the obsolete guide currently on the Tip.It website. Had to write three separate walkthroughs and strategies for three different ways to complete the Fight Caves (with Guthans, without Guthans, without defense). I sent it to Kiara Kat last night, hopefully it'll get published
  19. Firemaking - just imagine if it never existed and tomorrow Jagex released their new skill: Firemaking!!! How disappointed would everybody be? Firemaking has less depth than any other skill
  20. It's only useful for solo'ing if you know how to properly solo (dance with her, etc.)
  21. Don't forget the most likely candidate: fires one shot, drains opponent's run energy #-o
  22. That cherry one is really clever haha
