  1. As a British person, let me say: ?? In school I learned nothing at all about the American revolution. If you are implying that in the UK we spend a lot of time wishing that we still owned America, then you're mistaken :) It just isn't a big part of the 2500 years of British history we learned about. Obviously it's important to America, and it's right that you should learn about it in depth, but it is not true that British people discuss it in class and come to a pro-colonial view (we don't discuss it at all). I would expect that British people know almost nothing about it. [/hide] Vocal British people who use the internet are (generally) very strongly in opposition of the American revolution (generally speaking) and often (generally) cause long debates about it (sometimes), which has happened numerous times that I remember on this forum. *disclaimer: I am not implying all British TIFers do this. These are my views exactly. I don't mean to offend but that is the general trait, seeing as you don't share them: dusqi you have earned my respect
  2. I also use the runescape wiki quite often. The price graphs for items are more intuitive to use, their market watch is impeccable and what I like THE MOST by comparison is the list of drop rates for items on monsters. The inclusion of everything relevant to each and every thing I look up is very nice, it allows for a higher intake of information and better understanding. That said, I do enjoy tip.it's level tables and guides over the competition
  3. No one has argued CR vs CLS in this thread. Actually I have, I'll admit to that #-o my bad. Title is a bit misleading saying "Should I get a chaotic rapier that is" though As for a timetable... from 55 it really depends on how many dungeons you do a day so playtime/day is a huge number that could help an estimate. I'd say do a solo small/med for everything on C3 except the top 10 floors you do each prestige run. Do those with the largest group you feel comfortable with on either med/large and C6. Hope that helps
  4. 1) just no. You lack the levels to even wield them so your evidence is marginal at best 2) as stated above OP wants them for slayer so the whole PVP argument (which in my humble opinion pvp is the dumbest damn thing ever now so it shouldn't be brought up to begin with) is invalid. 3) You don't really get high-level monster hunting do you? When you have bosses like Bandos and DKs which are highly competitive you either have the best equipment or get crashed. There is no such thing as being able to settle for second best and get on a good team or keep a world. 4) As far as the weapon choice itself is concerned I would personally go for the longsword... seeing as overall dps increases speed is irrelevant. Furthermore a cls is not "a bit more damage on top of a whip" (as that would be the rapier). 82 vs 120 strength bonus is a huge difference and 42 higher attack is almost a godsend. Couple that with a defender and you have a weapon that is both more accurate and faster than a godsword (while it would have 7 less str bonus the speed makes up for that) or for higher level solos you could use a dfs and get 8 less attack and 7 less strength less than a godsword which is a minimal difference at most. (Again the higher speed makes up for it imo) The dfs + cls also provides you with some great defensive bonuses, invaluable on harder monsters and bosses. ...That'd be my two cents anyways :P
  5. I would say mount it but thats because of my inherent narcissism in dealing with construction  If the construction leveling proves a hindrance though I would definitely recommend a minion pet and putting that in your house... always an entertainment for guests
  6. I have one of these and love it, I second this recommendation. Best $10 I've ever spent
  7. According to an RS wikia article I read, at level 55 from a fully charged master penance horn you can expect to gain 480K bonus xp. It is accepted that higher waves generally give more charges however the reasoning behind it (whether its the higher wave or more points) and the rates are currently unknown. You can always check your horn to see how full it is and after a few games the general rate should become apparent. With that I'll say I'm interested in the findings so please post them here!
  8. ....why don't you just use spicy stews to boost? with the range of +/- 6 it only takes a few tries to get a +2 in something critical. Granted it is rather annoying when you get unlucky but I suppose thats the risk you're forced to take
  9. Another good way to train ranged has been introduced thanks to conquest. If you have the gumption to go get a deflector (if you don't already know it allows you to substitute another, traditional piece of void for gear and still get the effect)... you can get amazing amounts of xp. Wearing the void knight range helm, a sacred clay body, void robe bottoms, gloves and the deflector with knives you can get great xp at lower def monsters. For those with higher def that you can safe I recommend switching to a crossbow at level 61 and using broad bolts... before rune crossbows really aren't worth it but thats just my opinion. As for slayer, the focus sight coupled with sacred clay has some very good prospects so go find what works for you
  10. Its rather intuitive once you take a look at the general guides, both Tip.it's official ones and the Article of Wisdom ones... I recommend doing full allotments to say 35 or 40. After that I generally did herbs in-between slayer runs and fruit trees once per day. Some teleports to have handy that help are an ectophial, an explorer's ring, and the spirit tree network along with the traditional spellbook teleports. Good luck mate!
  11. To quote you, HOW DO WE KNOW? how the hell are we to discern if you didnt just bot to get 99 cooking? you can't back it up with any concrete proof can you? As for people who bot hunt, door closers and the like aren't bot hunting, they're being general d-bags so thats irrelevant. to use my example before, if I dropped two vials on something people were right-clicking to activate anyways it wouldn't make much of a difference to human players as they would know to move their mouse up the extra inch or so while bots aren't programed to do that. Its rather benign and very effiective. As for why we beat a dead horse? Hmm I'll use an analogy... on the prime time news they always talk about the recent thefts and other crimes that have occurred. Its old news, they've done it for 50-60+ years now a "dead horse" yet they still do it why? because it pisses people the hell off! He's ranting in a rants forum and you denounce him for it! Its not like we force you to read these topics! If you're sick of them, why are you wasting your time clicking on the link and reading the whole thread? Are you just mentally masochistic and enjoy angering yourself? Simply because you can't restrain yourself from inserting your self-righteous two cents on a topic that you don't even wish to view in the first place is no reason for mods to come in and limit the content of a forum specifically designed for what you intend to block. Exercise some self-control in your reading selections please
  12. Depending on the general market trends (eg. if claws are in demand and rising in price or not) I find myself able to get anywhere from 25K/hour in a REALLY bad market to 50K/hour in bad to generally good markets and 75-100K/hour in good markets and/or with a desperate customer. That said, if you are lending for an extended period of time you can generally charge an added premium simply due to the fact that your customer won't have to worry about their special weapon disappearing in the middle of combat or the hassle of attaining a new pair. I know that seems rather varied but to be quite honest it all depends on the market of claws; which has to be one of the dumbest things I've seen in a while :wall: . People for some odd reason flip out if claws drop like 3K in price and you'll barely be able to get a loan because everyone will predict that they are "crashing" yet if they go up by the same you'll reap in the profits.... to that end I say good luck to you sir!

The reason you want 80 is the ability to charge. It helps immensely as far as dps goes and therefore gold/hour and crash resistance. If you're not feeling the two blood runes and void mace I don't really blame you as I tend to mage on task only as I said earlier. With a focus sight + staff of light my fire waves hit high and often enough to ensure fast and cheap kills. (now if only I can get an arcane stream  )
  14. I don't take it personally, debates on forums are always just a bit of fun to me  . Furthermore my articles are generally accepted as well-written and shall continue to be so. As for being "one of the editors" we actually have different weeks that we are scheduled for so on the articles that I am not assigned to I really have no responsibility for them. However I could double check them if you want and make sure that they meet expectation. As for "putting people down" I wasn't aware correcting people was synonymous with putting them down. Unless of course they're the hyper-sensative type that thinks a teacher hates them for giving them an F when they clearly didn't know the material. Likewise, you prove my previous point. If someone communicates, be it in game or in an article, in a poor fashion you think "yikes" and thats my opinion as well. As for my first post on this thread I figured a little melodrama would insert a smidge of humor; not start a [lettuce]-fest. In game I do generally tend to ignore it but it does strike me as something to be avoided. First impressions are very important to me and when I have someone following me shouting Lend Claws when they clearly wish to borrow the claws that I am wearing or I got an prom 2h binded etc. I generally tend to have a negative impression. I hope that more clearly explains my stance
  15. Unless you have a very peculiar arma bend to your gameplay I would say go for it. The only difference is the stylistic ones and with the coif you'll still have the protection. Speaking of stylistic matters, you said it would match with your cape. Matching outfits are nice
  16. Where to begin my counterpoint... 1) The point of a rant topic is just that, he wishes to complain (and in most of our opinions rightfully so) about the absolutely rediculous amount of bots that there are. I hope that clarifies that. As for botting in it of itself do you not feel that it devalues the game or your personal experience? 2) Hyperboles? Pretty sure his information is dead on due to the fact that he can actually prove that they are bots. (see below). I furthermore find the fact that you saying "live and let live" while trying to shoot someone down pretty darn ironic if I do say so myself. 3) Not bots? Here's a really simple way to do it: Trap aubrey in a spot where the bots are not programmed to search for him or trap him in one spot and drop a ton of items so their right-click function gets mucked up and TA DA! They stop moving where their last assigned command ends and get "stuck" as evidenced in the photo. I've done it myself before, not hard. Either that or he used a newfangled method that im not aware of.

Nothing is "worth it" anymore unless you have maxed melee + range + mage, turmoil, overloads, yaks, and a chaotic (insert your personal choice of weaponry here). I say get your mage up to 75 or 80 and go for it. As for the "missed loot" his 138 buddy could easily bring coins and bank the stuff for him
  18. Oh really? Ifz I tpe leik dis does yo tink me articlz R gonna 2 get t3h published? Its exactly how I got ON the editorial team, for writing in a clear, concise fashion. Furthermore its not just my rules, I'm pretty sure its the rules of the English Language in general. I think it misrepresents the runescape community. If I was a new player and I saw pplz tlkngi leik dis or just "speaking" in a fashion befitting someone below the age of... oh lets use 13 since thats the age jagex lets people use chat at, I would be terribly disappointed at the rather immature community and move on to another game. I'm not speaking of typos or general abbreviations but clear ineptitude at communication and maturity thereof. As for slang, you only get a limited amount of space and I do use slang however I draw the line when I try to be official, when I write, and certainly when I speak
  19. [/hide] Yes, believe it or not its actually a word Gubenatorial/gubernatorial (depending upon dialect) (adj): Of or relating to a governor Merriam Webster Perhaps you could try looking things up before your quick judgement and ignorance get the better of you.

that entirely depends on if you're planning on maging or not... If you are I would still suggest 75 for some more powerful spells and most importantly a staff of light. Dks are wierd in trying to gauge your ability at them. I personally don't like maging dks unless I am on a dagganoth task and I have 99 magic. That said, it IS relatively easy and carries a lower risk than hybriding so its worth a go. Try it with your mate and make sure you know the ins and outs of the trade (where to stand, what to do, how to get set when in the dungeon etc.) The higher mage level the better though... however at 80 you should be good to go with charged claws of guthix.
  21. not with a range level of 55 mate! If you don't have like 70/75+ I really don't recommend ranging metals
  22. With the exception of Which hadn't actually happened yet. In any case... the day the Brits consent to outside rule is the day they can preach about how standing your ground and maintaining independence isn't the way to solve problems.
  23. In addition to my above advice I strongly second this suggestion! No seriously, smoking kills is a lifechanger. Slayer shall never be the same again
  24. Seeing as most of the more vocal members of TIF are British I think you can surmise what kind of feedback you'll receive for this. As an American... I'll say the following. Personally I'm a fan of centralized, conservative government (Think to Grecian benevolent dictatorship) and I would say that as a whole, the organization that the English government offered was far better than the [lettuce] government that the Articles of Confederation created. HOWEVER The proclamation of 1763 clearly denied the colonists the land that was won in the seven years war THUS making the claim that the wars were fought for the colonies invalid. Furthermore the quartering of British troops and the gubernatorial offices overturning local judicial decisions is, in my views, unacceptable on any level. To that end I see a reason to promote change. When that change is stifled and taxes are imposed it just adds insult to injury. As for the rich complaining about the taxes, it was the rich northern elites that had amassed quite a bit of power and influence and pissing them off was the last thing you would want to do. [patriotism] I'm proud of my nation for the outcome of the war however and I'm certainly glad it created my home country (granted I do have a good share of disapproval for the general America stigma and policies). That is part of being an American however, so thus I'll take the few negatives for the privilege (and it is a privilege) of living in the nation of my birth. [/patriotism]
  25. First at the original post:  at bots in general... I actually enjoy PLAYING my videogame; novel concept, I'm aware. As much as I would like to detest the amount of "work" that you have to do on runescape just to be able to play it to a full extent, after you're finally done, having some nerd sit there and get your levels in a week because some repeating program runs 24 hours on his computer is just... well... :wall: To that end I absolutely abhor bots. Thats freaking awesome.... I'm seriously considering taking a visit just to view the spectacle. It'll be interesting to see how much Jagex takes advantage of this opportunity. ROFLMAO  An excellent observation if I do say so, best post I've seen in a long time. That said, you're unfortunately right; bots will constantly evolve and there'll always be one ahead of the macro/bot filters.
