  1. If the Cartel are using weapons and ammunition illegally bought from shops in which the ATF authorized illegal sales, then yes, the blood is on the ATF's hands. There is no way that the blame can be placed, or for that matter, reduced by any degree, anywhere else but on the ATF. Oh, I dunno, how about placing the blame on the killers? This. Off topic a bit, but I was watching CNN last night, and they kept blaming the pastor who burnt the Koran for the attack on the UN compound, as if he did it himself. Not sure where you're getting the 10k for an AK in the states though. Depending on the state, you can get a Eastern European one for less than 1k legally. Authentic Russian ones may run you a bit more, but they aren't that expensive. AKs are really expensive in North America due to high smuggling costs and really stiff penalties (both in Mexico and the US) so $10k is about right. Anywhere east of Poland, you can buy AKs for around hundred bucks, same as in North Eastern Africa and The Middle East. And as long as they aren't made in South East Asia or South America, an AK is an AK so don't bother paying for one that is Russian made.
  2. Not really. This thread is about gun smuggling and I'm noting morally just uses for the types of weapons mentioned in the article.

  5. Yeah, there are definitely legitimate uses, like defending yourself/your family. Knowing the way you post, you're probably going to tell me that a handgun, a can of pepper spray or a phone call to 911 would suffice, but from personal experience, that's not always the case. I grew up in a rough part of St. Petersburg and there was a string of really violent home invasions in which victims were raped, maimed, shot at, and even decapitated by a gang of armed criminals. So yeah, there are some non-sketchy scenarios in which a Kalashnikov would come in handy.
  6. Soldiers are people. You cannot expect them to always act ethically.
  7. What I noticed: I think letter sets stand for letters. X and L are usually together, as is NM and PR. Also, NBSE and WLD are repeated a couple times.
  8. Thanks for posting a clear text version. Also, from looking at previous Zodiac letters, this definitely doesn't look like his handwriting.

    China > America

Please do. So far, all you've done is made vague (and incorrect) statements/assumptions about China.

    China > America

I thought you were trolling at first. China is already an international superpower, no doubt about that. There's no way that China is as strongly dependent on the US as the US is on China. The US owes China billions and the only reason why consumer goods and electronics are affordable for many Americans is because of China. Controlling overpopulation through limitations is hardly barbaric--it benefits the greater good in that population density is manageable as is food supply. Definitely not on the same scale... All in all, nice try kiddo? 1)Power maybe, but not a superpower. 2)If China (Excluding ROC) disappeared tomorrow, the US would undoubtedly be hurt, but they would survive. However, if America either disappeared, or severed all ties with China, China would be ruined. They'd have no market for their goods, and their economy would collapse 3) Whether it's morally right or not, it will hurt china when the majority of their population is too old to work 4) A lot of countries are in debt right now. While the debt to china is a concern, it's not like China can just walk over and demand the money though. 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superpower Scroll down. 2. Wrong again. Look at Chinese exports, what percent go to America? (It's less than 30%). 3. China obviously does not have a shortage of labor... 4. Yeah, they can definitely demand their money. Also, the relative debt the US has is far greater than any other nation. Again, nice try.

  16. Animals used for food production are mistreated like this daily but nothing is done because it keeps food prices low. While I do hope these animals are able to have better living conditions, I am still baffled by how many people have such a double standard for how they perceive inhumane treatment of animals.
  17. I guess I did considering I was out and about at that time.

Automatics are really nice because you feel a lot more involved in the way your car acts. You'll get used to it really fast.
  19. also liking your signature.

  20. Yeah bro, you're a physic.
  21. Plus, they're 13, and the driver appears to be of similar age in both situations. I believe children that live on farms can get their licenses at age 14. Perhaps the driver was 14. They look like the hard-working type to me. Maybe, but what 14 year old of a farming family gets a brand new shiny convertible? It's a Chrysler Sebring.
  22. sober, alone and unloved
