  1. IMO 95 Prayer > Vwand/book > ASC bows > Nex Armors. Magic is the best dps in game as of now so I would get Virtus armor first as it's also the cheapest. Then Pernix, then Torva. Other items that you should have are 6th age circuit for DPS, Leviathan for tanking. For capes you'll want a kiln cape, mage arena cape, ava's alerter for DPS and Reefwalker for tanking. If you don't have an arc stream for magic necklace slot I would break your cstaff (after you get vwand/book) to get the tokens for one, buy a murmur and whisper.
  2. Average herbs per patch with the tier 5 aura should be 48.84 vs 47.19 with tier 4 or an extra 21 k per run if you're doing dwarf weeds. aka not worth the loyalty points.
  3. Not really worth it when you can just stand in the corner and save anticipation for saving adrenaline between kills.

Iron titan is just short of being as effective a steel titan, and the iron titan almost always uses melee. I use an iron titan when I range. Use a steel titan (when soloing with magic) or an iron titan (when soloing with range). It'll do enough damage almost every time to switch prayers. When using the iron titan do you use darklight or the holy water? If the holy water and I missing something because it is a paint to make. I use holy water. Use an ability to strike first (not autoattack) otherwise you'll use up holy water really fast. I still have 60 after like 30+ hours of TDs (made 100 initially). So you use an ability and it takes down teh shield? Yes, holy water attacks (including abilities) have a 100% chance to take the shield down and do it from range. Much worth using vs darklight. So to start the kill you click an ability to get it queued and then the demon to use the ability instead of an autoattack.
  5. Didn't say it was too weak, said it was too weak to be comfortable. You take significantly more damage in bandos, notably from the grotworms. If you really want to save the extra 3-4 seconds per kill for a significant increase in risk of dying (which really only hurts your gp/hr as getting back to your grave is possible in under a minute) that's all fine and dandy but I wouldn't recommend someone who is already struggling at QBD to use t7 armor when t85 is available and much safer.
  6. They didn't ask for any of my information and I ran AVG, Spywareblaster, Spybot Search and Destroy, as well as Malwarebytes and they all turned up nothing after I opened it. I'm pretty sure its legit. Thanks all. I'd feel more comfortable if you posted the source, so that we can verify that you're safe Here's screenshots of the info. [hide] [/hide]
  7. Even if it isn't noticeable short term it definitely will affect the long term. If you don't need the defense/lp might as well get faster kills.

  9. Yeah i find it totally stupid that Kree can interrupt Rapid Fire. Even if you're backed into a corner? Gear being the issue, gotta pretty much be in full t80 or have t85 top/bottom to last on just soul split there now. Also you weren't overloaded which means you had less dps = less healing. Same applies to not having t9 or t85 range weapons. Last time I went in full DL with arma gloves/boots I wasn't getting hit for 1 k + often enough for it to be troublesome, had more damage coming from the minions than Kree at that point.
  10. What Tim said, bandos is going to ensure than you get hit like a truck at QBD. It's doable but it isn't fun. Go with full tetsu and bandos for the gloves/boots. Sara whisper, 6th age or equivilant for ring, and kiln cape. I'm assuming you're maxed or have near maxed stats but you should be overloaded, with prayer renewals/super antifires running the whole time. With penance aura on you shouldn't need any extra prayer beyond just the renewals. Soul split/Turmoil on the entire kill. Don't shut it off when running to the crystals to "save prayer" because it loses the ramp up of turmoil and slows down the kill. You should have adrenaline potions in your inventory. Try to finish phase 3 at 100% adrenaline and hit berserk as soon as you are back into attack range, sip adrenaline pot, basics until assault/destroy (should only be 2 basics iirc). Unless she goes carapace this should bring to damn near finished. If you really want fastest kill times use adrenaline stalling abilities between kills instead of using the adrenaline -> hp ability. As you save up cash I would switch to using full torva over tetsu, as the slight defense boost isn't that noticable (ensures more prayer from penance) and the offense helps a lot (which means more healing from soul split). I'm unsure on t9 armor values being worth it over nex gear. I also know nothing about nexing. For ports you can still use your oxheads, they won't be better than any new JoD you get until they hit level 10 which will take longer than probably is worth. Magic notepaper is best used at frost dragons atm. Big chinchompa is worth doing if you hate HH with a passion, grenwalls in general aren't ever worth doing unless they are your best money maker. Floor times solo should be sub 3:30 for c6 smalls, sub 9:30 for c6 meds. For 6:6 larges and randoms its a potluck. I've had teams that ran an average of 15-20 minutes and some that couldn't do it in under 40. With a good team that knows what they're doing you can get down to the 10 min range. I assume by exp rates you mean combat training? If that's the case you can get over 300 k exp/hr with every combat style now if you know where to train. Momentum is never worth using, expect at least 40% less experience/hr in my experience with it. Without using berserk it's not that huge of a dps loss unless you really care about min/maxing. Might as well do it though as its easy and hitting high is fun. Not sure on the actual odds of getting effigies as it still depends on what monster you're fighting. It's best to just use them outright though regardless.
  11. How long would that take from 87-90 average? Just doing fishing (not wc) its around 85-90 k exp/hr and you're looking to get 1.1 mil-ish exp so bank on 12-13 hours. If you have the bonus exp from sc harpoons already then less. If you ever want wc exp you should be wcing too though.
  12. 10 kills seems about right given that you aren't using soul split. Gear-wise you would be better off in full pernix if you're going to range, at the very least get the gloves/boots and get a sara murmur for your amulet. Ascension MH crossbow would also be a significant upgrade if you can swing it. Are you using cruelty? Are you using an aura (penance or vamp are my personal favourites). With penance you should be able to go with just renewals for prayer and be fine for the whole hour.
  13. Posted an idea of Heists and a DnD a while back on my blog, it will be interesting to see how their update will compare. Dragon update looks interesting? Abyssals getting wand/orb is well needed. If they have another 3 months of content like this, that actually looks useful and entertaining, I might come back to playing to catch up. Also because I miss hyt...
  14. Garbage like this makes me much more solid in my decision to stop playing. What they can't seem to get their developer heads around is the fact that we want good content, not more content. People have been saying forever that the G.E. prices on seismic wands and singularities need to be manually adjusted to reflect how much they are actually selling for and worth so that coinshare is more appealing thus drawing in more teams to fight the boss. The drop rates vs. kill times on Vorago compared to the Kalphite King mean that there are far more t90 melee weapons coming into the game than t90 mage as well. Just adjusting those two things would make end game magic much more reachable and balance a large flaw in the system. Why haven't Jagex listened to the players who have been saying this? There is an imbalance with abilities between the three combat styles which leaves range lacking, and mage slightly OP. I've read dozens of suggestions to balance this (many on these forums) that would be easier to implement than adding the old combat system in a way that is compatible with the new. Why haven't jagex listened to the playeres who have been giving those suggestions? There's hundreds of other small things that would be easy to fix that haven't been even seriously considered, work on those instead of trying to rehash old content that we were told is never going to come back anyway. My gut tells me what some of you others have already said, this is another money grab attempt and quiet frankly I hope it fails.
  15. Having recently cancelled my account I got an email asking for feedback on why I left the game. Is this a legit thing that Jagex is doing now or should I leave it unanswered? The other email I recieved was from what I believe to be a phishing attempt but wanted to make sure, it said that they received information leading them to believe I was trying to sell my account and threatened me with a lawsuit. The email addresses these emails came from were [email protected] and [email protected] respectively. Any info would be appreciated :)
  16. Apparently this is an alcoholic drink based on the first image that came up when I googled it. I'll check back on my blog every now and again. Mostly just to hear from you guys. Not too interested in whats going on in the game. I'll possibly play for a month or two if the updates continue to look like the most recent ones as well. Glad to have known you too! Made to order. Now to watch some Doctor Who while wearing my certified prop replica Matt Smith bowtie that I got for Christmas while drinking tea from my mug that has a Tardis on it that disappears on the one side and reappears on the other when it gets hot/cold. God I wish I was British...
  17. Well everybody, I'd like to thank everyone who posted here and was good for company and conversation in runescape over the last year. It's been a crazy year with all of my health stuff, I had a rare strain of e-coli, my tonsils out and just about every rare complication that can come from that surgery, reactive arthritis prevented me from working out for most of the year (which sucks, my degree is in Exercise Science), and lastly dealing with an MRSA infection. The best part of the year happened January 8th 2013 when I met Maria, whom I just recently (on our anniversary) asked to marry me. Combine that with the fact that I can work out again, I'm trying to save money for a wedding/honeymoon (every little bit helps), and the recent direction that the game has been taking I've decided to quit RS for the forseeable future. The apparent lack of quality control in development of new content for the game, as well as the lack of content in general despite record high profits owing to the SoF and SGS tell me that there's a good chance that Jagex sees that the age of MMORPG's is waning and they (and their investors) are trying to milk the game for as much money as they can in the mean time. The ports update was a perfect example. It's been talked about and alluded to for almost a year, and yet the content was extremely lacking, and what was put in filled virtually no holes in the game, and added nothing new or original. Despite the power to the players voting system they seem to have absolutely no clue what they need to do to balance the game and make it accessible for the average player. I've trusted my entire bank to one of my good irl friends who still is catching up on some of the good content that came out in his 5 year break so I'm hoping that it takes some of the grind out of the game for him and helps him enjoy it some more. To you all I say again thank you, I might lurk on the forums and post occasionally, and I may even come back if Priff ends up being amazing, but I doubt it. Once I'm married I won't be playing any games that can't be paused because I want to be able to give full attention to my wife (and someday kids) at a moments notice. She's amazing and she deserves that. I'll probably afk the world event for the con and agility exp but once that's over I will not be signing on again. Cheers, The Doctor.
  18. I literally came back to runescape almost a year ago (last March/Late February) simply because of Ports. I trained all my skills in order to be able to do everything that Ports had to offer. I recently got 2400 total thanks to that training and I've enjoyed the game more than ever. But this update is simply horrible. This was a perfect opportunity for Jagex to do something about the stupid imbalance this game has in getting gear that is viable for use in the end game content. Magic should have been given a wand/orb. The prices on virtus might drift downward now that it degrades but it's unlikely to dip very low in the long term. Seismics still remain over max cash in order to get. Adding in a wand/orb here would have brought those prices down, as well as giving players like myself an opportunity to get weapons that while not BIS are still good enough to enjoy some higher level bossing. Getting gear should not be a grind, and introducing it through ports would have taken a lot of grind out of getting bossing ready. Range should also have been done differently. Sy is right that ascension shards shouldn't have been part of the equation. What they should have done is simply make the darts a trade good that you can send out voyages for and then make them tradeable. IMO they should have been shruikans though. As it is it's not worth giving up the bones and ascension shards to make them. You're better off just selling your shards and using your bones on elements/vamp to make the cash for asc bows. Melee should have been given katana's to balance out the t85 combat tree, drygores are cheap enough that they aren't going to crash anymore but t85 melee would have been a nice bridge to them for people whose chaotics just aren't cutting it anymore. Oxheads getting nerfed is completely unwarrented and quite frankly retarded. They were perfect for triple stat voyages, and you would only use 1 on double stat voyages to make your JoD boost optimal. There was no need to change that. The ring is underwhelming. My 6th age circuit has better crit, is free, and can't be lost. The defensive bonuses are soooo needed ... no wait ... they aren't. We still have people who use t8 armor at every boss because defense just isn't that important. The cape being BiS is also dumb, max cape and comp cape should both be better. It's a sad day when the update that I was most anticipating for the last 6 months comes out and the best part about it is the patch notes and the ninja team update. I came back for Ports 1.0, and quite honestly I might leave because of 2.0. I have a little bit of hope that they will change some of these things and fix it within the month outside of finishing the world event I don't see myself continuing for very much longer. I am getting engaged tomorrow and I have said for a long time that I would not be playing this game once I got married. Maybe it's best to just get a head start on that...
  19. I got 92 fletching and cashed out my bones yesterday. Also got to 80 plate and made another 6.5 mil off of the tetsu top I made. I've mainly just been logging in the past few days to afk con training through the world event while I play borderlands 2.
  20. Gear : Bandos, Whisper, 6th Age Circuit, Kiln Cape, Drygore Maces, Vamp Scrim, and Penance aura. With Soul Split, Turmoil, and Overloads you should only average 4-6 rocktails per kill if you know her mechanics well enough. Pre-armor/accuracy nerf it was very possible to just tank everything because she did almost no damage to those in t7 armor and above. Not the case anymore. You need to avoid superbreath, kite the souls attacks (only one I still have a hard time with is the x4 souls) and avoid timestops (only really an issue on x4 souls if she goes carapace). Tetsu really does help a lot in reducing damage coming from the queen enough to the point where you can sub out the helm/gloves/boots for range gear to help reduce more damage from the grotworms. If you have full torva you should be using that. If you find yourself dying a lot its because you aren't taking care to reduce easily avoidable damage. My normal rotation is to basic up to assault and that normally finishes off the first wave. The second wave is basics up to assault and destroy which normally finishes that wave. 3rd wave is essentially the same as wave #2 except that depending on her hp I will only do one of assault or destroy to make sure that I have enough adrenaline to berserk phase 4. Phase 4 is berserk -> adrenaline potion -> basics to assault -> assault -> basics till done or destroy depending on luck. Important to note that when she goes crystal or carapace it lasts for a set period of time. Meaning that if she crystals at the end of phase 3, even though she looks normal at the start of phase 4 she still is super weak to melee unless she specifically goes carapace or the time for crystal runs out. Always avoid superbreath on phase 4 even if it means you mess up and lose your berserk. With penance aura you shouldn't need any prayer besides the prayer renewals. I'm not nearly as fast as most people and I still manage 3.5-4 m/hr when I go to QBD. Work on mechanics and you'll get it.
  21. Most of the serious pvmers I know will say that getting tectonic is worth it for nex solos and also vorago if you already have the set.
  22. dw t7 should be at least as good if not better than t75 staff make sure you safe, its not worth getting 4 k slammed and minion combod because you didn't want to lose some adrenaline to get a threshold.
  23. Once you hit end game for ports it comes out to average ~500 k profit per day for little effort. Farming herbs is currently ~69 k profit per patch with lants ~65 k with dwarfweed ~46 k with avantoe ~43 k with torstol Obviously thats with juju's and scroll of life. The numbers are slightly better still with greenfingers aura. Those are the top 4 best herbs atm. If you want up to date estimates grimy's spreadsheet for farming has them here. QBD in max gear/stats is 4-6 mil per hour. DK's are roughly double that but are arguably much harder to do. TD's are still great money because of the dragon limb drops and are about on par with QBD. More money making options can be found here.
