My goodness, this is a completely different game...
No need to get nasty, and I wasn't bashing WOW. I was simply saying I hope both games stay true to themselves. Also the HP reference was to the fact that 99 health was multiplied by 10 - which is UNHEARD of for Runescape's standards. Your example of 22,483 health in WOW is a perfect example here, as I was pointing out 990 health in Runescape is just plain weird, and should stay in other successful mmorpg's where more health is deemed to be normal. Anyways I'm not here to stir [cabbage]aki mushrooms, I was simply discussing the topic. If some thought of it differently, then that's their problem. Either way it's a shame I have to resort to adding people to my ignore list here on Tipit. I don't need to be treated like that, especially with the refernce to feces - just for stating my opinion in a dignified manner. Good luck to everyone else stating your point of view :(

My goodness, this is a completely different game...
Hmm idk, some 'new' things are pretty wow-like. E.G. hp changed from 99 to 990, and the minigame skill *cough* I mean dungeoneering (similar to 'raiding' so I hear?). Since MMG has played Wow I think he sometimes compares RS to other successful mmorpg's, although hopefully it won't become wowscape. Runescape is unique in its own right - it didn't make guiness world records for nothing ya know ;)

Thought-provoking films
Gran Torino - A war veteran is disturbed when a boy next door, Thao, attempts to steal his prized car, the Gran Torino. Later he discovers Thao was put up to the task as a 'test'. Thao then finds himself having to do chores for the not-so-tolerant Walt Kowalski (played by Clint Eastwood). He is drawn into Thao's family and the gang-like problem they're having, when bullets go flying and things get serious. Many life lessons in this movie, and has a great ending. A classic movie. The Shawshank Redemption - Andy (played by Tim Robbins) is wrongly accused of a murder and sent to prison for 2 life sentences back to back. Powerful story. A must have classic for the DVD cupboard. Last Holiday - Georgia (played by Queen Latifah) is diagnosed with a terminal illness and is told she only has a few weeks left to live. She decides to sell up and do all the things she's ever dreamed of. This movie inspired me to get my own 'book of possibilities'. One of my all time favourite movies. If you're into movies with motto's/life lessons, you won't want to miss this one! Sliding doors - When Helen (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) attempts to catch a train, but her life is split into two very different stories. By missing the train, her life changes drastically. This movie questions our own lives and whether it may have been played out differently if we missed something or chose a different path. Double Jeopardy - Elizabeth (played by Ashley Judd) had a normal life, until one day she finds her husband missing on a boat, along with blood trails. She is accused of the murder of her husband, and is sent to prison. When she phones up her daughter, she hears her scream "daddy!". What happens? You'll have to find out for yourself :) The Matrix - Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) is told he is living in a dream world, and what he thinks is real, is actually an imaginary world setup to blind people of what's really going on. He discovers these 'machines' have been using fields of human beings as a neverending energy source to take over the world. Neo rebels against the machines. A must have DVD. Followed by The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The movies below probably aren't very thought provoking in terms of real life, they're just epic: Harry Potter - enough said :D must have DVD Shooter - a really good shooter is setup by some highly regarded figures, and seeks justice in proving he's not the one that attempted to assassinate the president. Overall a great movie, although probably not a movie you would bother watching over and over. Rent this one ;) Avatar - must have DVD. Nuff said. There's probably more movies but can't think of them right now.

Abby Demons
I've never had trouble with abby demons defence, there should be no issue there. A whip does plenty of damage.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I don't know what's up with the fury kits lately. I've seen more of them on the RSOF than dragon ornament kits (or), yet they're still 100m+ street? I don't get it... I've tried soooo many times to snipe one off the GE with no luck. A couple times managing to put in an offer 3 seconds after the GE updated, and it still wasn't enough to snipe one o_O Either I'll have to wait a lot longer or (by fluke) get one from an elite clue.

Noobs say the funniest things!
I have much respect for Zezima. I feel the same way when people ask me to be friends, after talking to them for less than 30 seconds, they usually want an add just because of my stats. I just respond by saying 'sorry I don't know you'. They occasionally throw a tantrum, but realize in the end that some people just want to be left alone. For me, I'm quite reserved, and I do like talking to people every now and then, but when I've had enough, I do like some peace and quiet. What Zez said here was what I wish I could say to people IRL sometimes when I've had enough XD much respect to him for putting up with all those years of paparazzi at pest control and many other places, he deserves that silver crown.

If you could bring back one thing from the past what would it be?
Probably no gravestones. I've only died twice and lost valuable items in my entire RS life, first was the bat guy from desert treasure, 2nd was on world 100 when the world went crazy and decided and to be the most laggy, disconnecting world ever, while doing my elite clue right in front of many ice trolls in neitiznot -_- luckilly I was able to grab the clue within 2 seconds of the grave disappearing. It gave me a d sq orn kit btw XD I think the gravestones thing (while very useful) has caused more problems than they're worth for me. There is an obligation to bless someones gravestone despite not knowing who they are or what the circumstances were when they died. Most of the time I bless peoples graves to find they didn't want it blessed in the first place. That's ok, but if I were to know that, I could have saved myself 55 prayer points. This happens a LOT for me. I also hardly ever get a thanks, once I blessed someone who was going to lose their santa hat - and people were saying don't bless! Let him lose it! I blessed, he came back, not a thanks. I sometimes wonder why I bother in the first place :(

Does Runescape increase your self-esteem?
I don't think RS has increased my self esteem really. When I compare myself to others I think I'm alright, but certainly not as good as people with 200M exp in multiple skills, people with fire capes, full 3rd age+elysian/divine etc. in fact it makes me depressed to think how much money I could have saved over time if I didn't level up my skills all the time. In terms of escapism however, Runescape has always been there for me. Especially when real life got the better of me, I could just play RS and escape it all. Playing RS has certainly increased my creativity and imagination. Playing RS, browsing the suggestions forum etc. has got me excited in real life for possible careers in the future, like animation, game design etc. I'm proud to say that Runescape is and will always be the best game I've ever played. I used to be embarassed when I said I played RS, but not anymore. I look at Runefest and the lucky people who were able to attend it and I think wow, that would be so much fun to attend with the balloon popping, all the inside info on upcoming updates and meeting J mods IRL!!! etc. I think RS has become my hobby as such. Either way, Runescape is my lemonade when the real world gives me lemons.

Tip.It's Reverse Caption Contest! With prizes from Jagex! Winners TBA
Hey there :D a few more questions I have: If I take a picture of somewhere in runescape and then put something in it via photoshop, is it considered manipulated or original? As it is sort of manipulated and original =l Also are we allowed text in the picture? Edit: Thanks for the quick reply :D I've sent my caption ^_^ Good luck everyone!

Revitalizing Currency
I agree with Paw Claw with the fact that the only way to stop junk trading is for Jagex to manipulate the G.E. price to the items street price. I have personally noticed whenever an item goes up to its invisible price tag or street price; it soon becomes buyable on the G.E. and soon afterwards, crashes big time. Having different currencies would be a bit awkward like bronze + silver coins etc. if you were to suggest more currencies like tokkul and trading sticks for example, then Id be all for it. Id love to camp at a monster with an opportunity to make tons of that currency which I could in turn, trade in for a nice item. Prime example onyx gem. I probably wouldnt support bronze + silver coins though.

Playing around with Photoshop - master skillcapes
Thanks :D I hope they're added in game too! I once thought 120 skills would be something I'd never support. But where there's a will, there's a way, and there's many ways 120 skills can be justified. For example, at level 100 agility, you could gain access to a new agility course which would give 1,000 xp, and at level 110, 2,000 xp for example. So it becomes easier with the more xp you gain. With that I hope 120 skills will become a reality and I truly hope to see master capes for all skills one day! :shades:

Playing around with Photoshop - master skillcapes
Sorry everyone I can't make any more capes, it's taking up too much of my IRL time :( If I get any time I might redo the ones I've already created. Hope you enjoyed them, and you're welcome to use them in your avatars/signatures

Playing around with Photoshop - master skillcapes
I've found a way to colour the master dungeoneering cape and have experimented some more and come up with a much more realistic look. I'm not sure if this is possible for other colours, but I've been able to accomplish this look for the master attack cape at least :) Before and After: > > Edit: Thanks Gandorf :) I've edited the master atk cape and changed the master cooking cape

Skill speculations
Don't worry, it's a great topic for discussion! I personally have seen a lot more talk on high level content, and in particular level 120 capes + skills. When I think about it, I think Jagex are trying to get more people into the higher level bracket :D Things like effigies, the make all option now, and the increased requirements for the quest cape etc. They're all adding up to something big, I can feel it. With all the talk about smithing too, it sounds like something big is in store for us either this year or the next. I know I'm certainly going to get my smithing level up just incase, and probably a few other stats. I hope there will be new content for us. With the charm sprite update I think maybe they're going to give us more activities or opportunities to train multiple skills at once. That could be a skill in itself really. Clerisy. A skill which trains multiple skills with training techniques from the third age. Otto godblessed knows all about ancient training :D I can see it now - bow fishing with ranged weapons, increased knowledge and power of the hasta weaponry etc. perhaps a dragon hasta? :D

Playing around with Photoshop - master skillcapes
Eventually :) life's a bit chaotic right now but I'll get there. Made a master summoning cape today, not happy with it but I'll have to leave it for now. Re-did the hp cape too, the icon was too 3D, looked weird.

12-Oct-2010 - Charm Sprite Hunting
I think the charm sprite hunting update was quite fun, albeit not for the charms, for the average hunter exp and nice break from other alternative training methods. The spell and range thing was a really nice addition. After all, melee have many weapons which are virtually indestructable, whereas magic and range need ammunition which disappears, so I think it was a brilliant addition. I'm going to enjoy the new make all options. I haven't seen if it works for gold ore smelting, but if so, HUZZAH!!
