1/22/2012 New Members' Pricing
Inb4 naysayers say that jagex is obviously struggling for cash and this is the turning point. Will be interesting to see if there will be a larger than usual influx of members these next few days, and if more people will keep their memberships running to avoid the price hike if they decide to come back later and subscribe. Edit: Here is the FAQ ([qfc]14-15-936-63521600[/qfc])

This. But the birthday problem is kinda mind-boggling unless you sit down and think about it for a while. Oh and most people don't like Monday mornings -especially kiddies in school-, so great example.

Torstol vs Snaps
Prices auto-update with GE, and the average harvest is ever so slightly changing as I do more herb runs, so check back daily to see which is best. Farming Calculator Interestingly enough, yesterday snaps were good to farm, but now from a purely profit perspective, snaps are not an option regardless of your combination of scroll of life, juju, and remote farm. Actually, what you said made me think, so I added in a comparison of ranarr, snapdragon, and torstol.. that way you can see whether it is worth it or not to give up the experience of torstol for the slightly better profit of ranarrs. Eh, I don't think giving up 7500 xp for 20k more profit is worth it lol. IIRC, yesterday it was Torstol Snapdragon Snapdragon Ranarr Ranarr Ranarr Toadflax Toadflax

Armours and weps!
Actually, sometimes dds and korasi is better to spec with for slayer. Take a look at this thread.

Armours and weps!
Well before Quyneax posts her comprehensive slayer setup, we can start off with this: DON'T EVER TRAIN WITH A SGS.. best weapon for pretty much all slayer tasks is the chaotic rapier, requiring 80 attack and dungeoneering.. yes it degrades, but it is beyond worth it. And for mage slaying, a Polypore staff is a great idea.. It has it's own built in spell, so it can be used on any book. It's a very good spell, unless you want to blow a small fortune on Storm of Armadyl. And if you are curious, monkey knife fighters are now the best way to get 99 thieving.

If you're familiar with the "Birthday problem" in statistics, we can apply the same logic. http://en.wikipedia....irthday_problem Anyways, the chances that 2 effigies are exactly the same combination, even in a relatively small sample size, is much higher than expected. Even with just 80 effigies that have 4096 possibilities, we have a 54% chance that an effigy will be repeated. From the sample size of over 400 that Mithril collected, it would have been 1/billions of a chance that none stacked, which was the case. The calculation for the chance of a repeat in 80 effigies is below: http://www.wolframal...F+%284096^80%29 8*8*8*8 =4096. 8 number of double options and 4 different stages says 4096. Ok it wouldn't be 100% accurate but it'd likely be close. Mithril got roughly a 10% sample becuase of the bank limits. He probably had the single most amount of effigies at one time than anyn other player and hand't found a stack. That doesn't mean it doesn't actually exist. Its like me saying the runescape highscores doesn't go over 4B exp, no one has disproved it therefore at this moment in time it is correct as that's how science goes. Do you not understand statistics at all......... Going by Mithril's final video, having 512 effigies... Anyways, on topic... a tad late congratz to Suomi on 200m def!! gl with finishing crawlering :) [/hide] I would let this die if you guys would stop bringing up horrible statistics. Read the wikipedia article or something. For everyone out there that is cringing after reading my argument, I was joking. I read the wikipedia article a few months ago and just decided to make this as some sort of proof. :P

Well the slayer xp is pretty good, but no effigies and charms sucks. Depends what you value more.

Something fun.
Well yah lol; its a marriage of math and runescape.. it's fun :P And it's useful since I've learned a good bit more about excel & Google Docs.. that's always good for my degree, so it's a win-win. off-topic

Okay. You can use Overloads in Dg? yep, just drink the ovl/prayer renewal directly before entering, and you'll get the benefits inside for the normal time they last for. Makes a massive difference, obviously. Edit: What Hedge said as well.. it's fun and fulfilling in a weird way. :geek:

Try to see how fast you can get a solo med floor done in dungeoneering (f15ish is normally done for record floors I think). Your choice if you want to use ovl/prayer renewals.

This still relies on you having 200m to begin with. Yes, but if you have 200m in cash, you might as well save some time and money by buying virtus... Plus who doesn't like being at max lp?

JAGEX LIMITED v.IMPULSE SOFTWARE, ERIC SNELLMAN, and MARK SNELLMAN
I'm guessing there is a formula that is searching the hiscores for the lowest ranked total level... pretty nifty idea (I've just started importing GE data for a calculator, so this interests me). Assuming that I'm looking at this correctly: That's pretty insane if Jagex is banning 15k-20k players every week. And what I find even harder to believe is that 8,000 people bought membership today. Very useful link, thank you.

Agility.
Imo, it's pretty click intensive if you want good xp rates. And yes, the click area for that has always been small (as long as I can remember at least) and a pain to click on.
-
Igeneous - Carrion hunting
This, and bypassing the auto-walk west after laying a trap will increase xp rates by quite a bit. I click to where I want to go next (which is usually under a trap that needs to be checked/withered) whenever I see the marasamaw plant "explode", i.e. it has just begun to open up. Takes a little while to get the hang of it.

Sitting on some money.
I don't flip in the true sense of the word, since I will sometimes buy for a few weeks then sell to a buyer on forums. And then sometimes I am able to sell my item for 20% profit while still buying more. Working on items that are in high demand, yet have an annoying buy limit are great ideas. People on forums are willing to pay quite a bit extra if you buy an item for a week straight and sell it to them in bulk. And sometimes you get lucky, and can sell it in ge for the same you would get on forums, which resets the buying limit, and let's you buy a ton more than the limit would normally allow. Just for having my offer in for ~10 days, I've made 8m profit for no work, as I never check GE prices lol.

Where do people get the money to cannon/chin?
Corping requires a ton of time, and you need to have great luck if you want to make a fortune there. At 44 rc, astrals are both better xp and gp than natures.. hell, even at 91 rc, astrals are a whopping ~5k more experience/hr and about 150k more profit than natures. Also, it's not possible to consistently farm herbs every 70 mins.
-
Need $$
Yes, ranarrs are very safe profit. Without juju potions, ranarr, avantoe, toadflax, and sometimes snapdragon are usually the best to farm. With juju, torstols become an option. If you are solely training farming via herb runs, it doesn't much matter how you do you trips. Once you hit juju, then it's useful to start at trollheim. Definitely get the scroll of life asap, since it's only 10k tokens.

Cannonballs
Well, that's about 130 hours of slaying and using Vex's average over 3.6m xp, you are looking at around 1150 cannonballs/hr. So in total, you need to buy ~150k cannonballs for 63m. Ouch, they have gone up a ton.
