  2. Well i don't think Don Black is as prevalent person in people's mind.
  3. Tbh, I'm not that surprised. At least back when I was in middle school, sadistic serial murderers and stuff like that was "cool." Not in the sense that we all wanted to go torture and kill people but they tended to be popular subjects for reports and such. I can't tell you how many current events about the Beltway Sniper were presented. In hindsight, that may explain some things... Well now mass murderers aren't really "cool" in any of the schools I've been to (in middle school atm) and i would say that about half the kids in my grade would not recognize the name Charles Manson, or even the Beltway Sniper. Also our class was discussing To Kill a Mocking Bird and somehow we got into mass murderers, and our teacher brought up Timothy Mcveigh. I think three people (including myself) out of our small class of fifteen knew his name, and I was the only person who could say what he did. The reason why all the middleschoolers here do know who these people are simple shows what kind of people post on these forums.
  4. Do you know how much money Bill Gates has given to charity? I'm pretty sure in terms of dollars he is one of the most generous people in the world. He'd like us to think that. Exactly
  5. I don't really see how a list with hitler on it and not stalin can be justified. well if you agreed with stalin........

I have yet to read Slaughterhouse five although I think it's one of my summer reading books so I'll be reading it soon. Although I have read a small summary of the book (didn't look towards the ending though) and it seems that the books does greatly address my question.

Hey guys I got a question for you, do you think our future is predetermined? Now I don't mean in the sense of God has decided everything we do but this: Are the decisions we make (such as answering "A" to a multiple choice question) already finalized when you were born? I guess another way I could put that is: is the future changeable? Do my choice actually change what will happen or were those choices what I was always going to do and I just had the illusion of changing the future? And please don't talk about time travel because that seems irrelevant at this point. So is the future set in stone unchangeable? Also if those choices were just an illusion of changing the future would you say that the illusion of free will and free will itself have no discernible difference to a being?

  22. Wow that's kinda depressing
  23. And i showed how bias yours were to. Here we go again.... They were from the UN and other international organizations, at least for the most part. You can't get less biased then that. Yes, but that doesn't mean it still isn't biased :P Anyway I would like a two-state solution but I highly doubt that will ever happen, that or the UN (not a sole country) comes in and says "nobody gets it until you can all play nice in the sandbox". But if there has to be a winner i guess i would prefer Israel to win just because of all the persecution of the Jews.
