They showed plenty of it in the video and we already know the details really: Arma, Bandos and Zamorak are getting the special attacks they used in TWW, the only big mystery is Sara since there was no TWW battle and it has been made special for this.

It's the Buffs panel. If you go into the Edit mode for the interface (where you move around invisible elements) you can move it around to a location where it isn't in your way. Yeah it's quite handy cause it shows up all the stuns and drains and stuff you have active, just a shame (as people have mentioned) that as of yet they haven't seen fit to add other things to it that we all want like counting down icons for jujus and other effects of that ilk. Would be handy if they did make it a standard for all time/context sensitive effects. Like evil tree reward, all the timered pots etc. could all go in there and all it'd need is a little bit of context sensitivity for display. Eg skill related ones hide when you enter combat, combat potion ones could vanish if you go out of combat for a while. Could even add in xp boosters that show up when stuff is equipped and again when in use - eg each of the xp outfits, avatar boost, pendant icons tht slowly drain, horn icon, fire ring n gloves.

Tier info is interesting. Tier 1 - Elder Gods Tier 2 - Guthix & Zaros at full power 'Transcendent Gods' who are getting close to the power of Elder Tier 7 - 'facets of gods' Things that are born of god's power and draw on it but aren't really a god (het, crondis, scarabas, ampken, bandos avatar) So I'd guess with this new info: Tier 6 - Demigods (Amascut & Itchalrin) They aren't "images of a god" they are direct blood children of a god, but considering Elindiss (mother) is just a water spirit they gotta be weakened a bit. Tiers 3,4 and 5 I'd guess have to be Ascending Gods (As in those who have just hit true godhood and aren't necessarily all that powerful), New Gods (The gods with less following and less power who haven't necessarily been around tht long like Brassica Prime and Marimbo I'd say) and 'Old' Gods (the ones who been around and are established, but aren't on par with the tier 2 guys (so arma, bandos, sara, Zaros since he got beat up, Zammy is probably here now etc)

Bit that intrigues me a lot with the NIS: My macbook in theory has ample power to run RS at full settings. Live Game - Have to use near min graphics for it to limp along rather laggily. NIS Game - Runs smoothly on max graphics settings. So does this mean there are some Java engine tweaks that we are seeing in the Alpha that will coincide with the html5 launch for people who still have to run java due to bad specs? Or does this mean some how the current UI systems are insanely eating resources to the point you gotta crank down graphics to compensate?

Starlight questions
2 - like it says in the news and can be seen on the sof there are 3 blueprints - staff, bow and sword. You need all 3 to make all 3 weapons, blueprints are good for both starlight and starfury variant

HTML5 beta discussion
Normal pets were meant to go in there back in December, but they had issues making it work and delayed it. This is why we had the weird half-assed update where by all pets bar cats no longer need feeding, but the hunger meter still goes up. Last we heard was in Feb it had gone to testing, but presumably it still hasn't worked.

The elf quest guy did leave that was when we had the gap between Regicide and Mournings End but iirc he has since returned and supplied mep1 2 and within the light but he is also the lead guy on at least one other major quest series (I wanna say myreque but I may be wrong) which is why it's still slow. Though hopefully once one series is done all the focus can be on the other.

Beta updates have been quiet this week so far, hopefully this means they are working on a larger one that will make a decent dent in the fps issues.

Future Update Discussions
That sort of thing could just as easily feel as if it was tacked on for the sake of it, though, especially if it's added in the last quest in the series without any foreshadowing. I know the return of the gods is suupposed to be their main story arc, but that's not really supposed to mean they have to shoehorn every other quest into it. But would it really be all that shoe horned? We know Red Axe are making an army for someone or something - we do not know what. They have a link to red a colour associated with Zamorak. Chaos Dwarves have previously been implied to be Zamorakian. Chaos is Zamorak's godly ideology.

Future Update Discussions
I suppose it depends how it is handled. Dwarves for example if the bulk of the quest is tying up the existing plot, but just somewhere along the way, possibly in the finale, it is revealed they were making the army for their lord zamorak it'd sort of be a seed for the Zamorak god story but still neatly tie up the dwarf line. Seren being in Arposanda wouldn't be an issue as a main quest point imo - the core of that series is kinda we dunno wtf is really in there, given locale and Guthix Seren links Seren wouldn't be outta place.

Future Update Discussions
I can't remember the source, but it was mentioned in one of the QA thingies somewhere from late last yr that Gnome, Dwarf and Pirate were all scheduled for releases in 2013. Tbf they don't have to be short-changing God content to do them either: Dwarves red-axe chaos dwarf + the Orge links could very easily bring some Zammy stuff and/or Bandos in the background. Gnome story obviously could tackle a sort of 'what not' guthixian lore and hints about wtf is really going on in Arposanda could easily tie to lots of gods - perhaps the poison waste links to the 'extreme measures' Seren took to avoid the edicts? Pirate mentioned featuring monkeys so could have Marimbo elements and I'm sure undead pirate types could quite easily have some godly affiliation to be exposed - admittedly this is the most distant from any god stuff, but 1/3 ain't bad.

You're write. A novelist has real deadlines. To put it in another perspective, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was filmed, edited, and all three were released into theaters in less time than some of Jagex's quest sequels. 1) Film, Game and Novel industries are all greatly differing in timescale demands. 2) More often than not a novelist does NOT have any deadline - If its a solitary book they won't be tied into any continuing deal aside from perhaps current publisher gets first look at new material if its a series that sold well enough to actually be commissioned to completion they let the author be because they don;t want to mess up w/e process made the first book so amazing. For perspective on the novelist thing: Hunger Games Trilogy - 2008, 2009, 2010 A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) - 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2011 and two more installments left to come. Harry Potter - 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007 Lotr - Written between 1937 and 1949 In terms of finishing things off in reasonable time Jagex aren't going all that badly considering these authors had nothing to do but write the books, Jagex has a whole host of other things going on. I don't see why people are hating so much really, yes Jagex has previously taken a buttload of time but since about two summers ago they have been actively trying to finish storylines off - it's just many of them are SO big they require large dev budgets to finish. And in all honesty I think they are doing a stellar job at it - Cave Goblins, Fremmy, Mahjaratt Ritual have all been completed nicely. Myreque, Gnome, Dwarf, Pirate, Desert, EW and Elf have all had installments, especially they earlier ones. We know we are getting Gnome, Dwarf and Pirate quests this year, poll only dictates order. Dwarf one closes that story off, Gnome one from video implies Arposanda will be included which is one of the delaying 'big budget' items as it is a city (like Menaphos and Priffindas), Pirate ones finally hitting 'war' seems to be quite near an end. Myreque is certainly getting near a nice conclusion, Elf is sort of on the cusp of conclusion territory as well. Plus they haven't really started any new stories at all recently that haven't been quickly self contained and finished (Void/Pest and Summer's End).

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
After you've maxed port and ship they are no longer good for normal resources, so they are only useful for trade goods, then. After you've maxed port and ship and crew you admittedly eliminate resources voyages as useful leaving only scroll, xp, trade good. One of them is finite - you will get all scrolls eventually. The other is sort of finite - xp is only useful until you hit 99 (or perhaps 200m if you want to do that) The only one with continuing never end purpose is trade goods so they are useful in the longterm end-game.

If you want to mostly afk - pick an island or small cluster of islands with 2 or more of your best creature on and siphon them plus go for any good nodes in your area (eg shifter, splitter etc. upwards) if you see them.

EoC question
^I think the guys who coded it do, unfortunately they probably have little to nothing to do with the guys who wrote the info text for abilities which probably gets further distorted when handed to the translation teams and it gets 'dumbed down' to ensure it's near identical in all languages.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Which you are perfectly entitled to do. Issues only arise because you 'throw it out there' as a direct response to people asking for the best setup without making clear it is your personal preference. I mean how hard is it to write 'Personally I like...' or 'I like to use...' or 'I find...works well' opposed to just flat out stating your setup without context leading to the flawed representation that what you are saying is the best setup when it is not as proven by the thorough mathematical research done by others. Questions here should be treated just as they are under H&A forum rules (as near as possible): Alternate answers should not be given without the actual answer being given. In this cause you personal preference is an alternate answer and should be prefaced to make it clear it is the case otherwise you are just misleading people when you give it as a direct answer.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
The trouble is when people ask for THE best setup you should give them THE best setup. Not your personal preference unless you clearly phrase it say it is YOUR preference and not THE best setup. It's misleading and incorrect otherwise. I mean if someone asked for the best Barrows run gear you wouldn't just say 'Full bronze with a rune scimitar.' because you happen to do it that way out of choice. This is the same thing, you are giving a false answer by not making clear you are giving your personal choice which you full well know is NOT inline with the mathematically proven best which they asked for.

Yeah as long as u take the time to preload and sort out all your teles maples give some decent breather time. Higher than maples just extends this.

EoC question
I can't say for abilities but for basic attacks speed is one of the factors used to balance DPS. So within a given tier you get like Slow + High Damage Avg + Avg Damage Fast + Low Damage The damage rating (dictating what it can do per hit) is balanced against the speed (how often it hits) so that the DPS is equal. Using unrealistic examples for simplicity sake: A rapier might do 100 damage and have a 1 second attack speed - Therefore 100 DPS A sword of the same tier might then have 200 damage and a 2 second attack speed - So once more 100 DPS A mace would then have 400 damage and a 4 second attack speed - So once again 100 DPS. Accuracy does come in too to make a three way equation, but it follows the same essence where speed, damage and accuracy are all related to each other to keep the DPS equal across the tier. Eg going back to the above loose simplified examples: Rapier - 155 Damage, 1 second attack, 65% accuracy - 155 in 1 second gives 155, but accuracy means you do 155*0.65 for 100 DPS Sword - 200 damage, 2 second, 100% accuracy - equates to 100 DPS Mace - 800 damage, 4 seconds 50% accuracy - 800 in 4 would be 200 in 1, but 200*0.5 for accuracy gives 100 DPS again. I admit I got no idea how the accuracy numbers in-game translate too actually accuracy % exactly, but this is the principle behind them.

Future Update Discussions
We are supposed to get all three this year anyway, this should just dictate order. Dwarves will be nice as its a series ender. Gnomes will be nice since it sounds like we FINALLY get into Arposanda and find out what it really is behind the illusions. Pirates sounds nice because we've only really had 1 quest where the vague strands in pirate themed quests started coming together and an all out pirate warfare jobby sounds nice.

And I did not say otherwise. I merely took the oppourtunity of the interface being brought up to mention that it was bound to do many weird things as it was in no way adapted for the new engine.

Did I say it was problematic either?

HTML5 beta discussion
There's lots of weird interface stuff going on, but at the end of the day does it even matter? The current interface isn't designed or adapted for the html5 rs. It's effectively a placeholder until the alpha of the new interface gets to a stage where it can be merged for a complete beta.

03-Apr-2013 - Dungeoneering Dual Wielding and Charming Imp
Ugh this kind of view annoys me no end. This is not Jagex or Runescape specific flaw it is the very nature of constantly updated MMORPGs. Content has to be added to pre-existing things, for it to not be wasted dev time it either has to equal an existing piece (to be an alternate), plug a hole or be the new best thing. The later two obviously make things easier and there in lies the nature of the MMORPG lifecycle, content either has to stagnant or become easier - the compensation is the addition of new top end stuff and entirely new game portions that add new difficulties which in time will become eased and so no and so forth. If you don't like games where things get easier to do over the years don't play an MMORPG, especially not one where the process is faster due to weekly updates go play Assasins Creed or Skyrim or something where it all stays exactly the same forever more.
