  1. Elves are Seren. Dwarves we haven't really been given much in the way of God info, one would assume Guthix seeing as he brought them in originally or Saradomin seeing as most everyone swapped to him. Only other possible choice in my eyes would be perhaps the Fremenik God based on the location of Kelda + their distaste for magic.
  2. Quest shortage makes me a bit sad too. I'm glad they are devoting bigger budgets to make quests better, but it does kinda suck when it means we go for months without quest releases so that they can work on beta stuff and it feels all the more prominent by the relatively short turn around of big updates (eoc + html5 + new skills) eatting up dev time.
  3. Numerically Tetsu is about 25% better than Torva, which is the basis of most comparisons I've seen on the RSOF, but after you add the defence stats the difference drops to about 10%. I think Bandos might be a close substitute to Torva though, and the loss of its set effect also hurts it as a DPS set. Gloves and boots have definitely gone down because of the loss of the set effect. This pretty much in blind numerics Tetsu appears better but when you compare how close tetsu and torva are def wise it's kind negligible especially when torva has the nice damage booster strapped on for greater dps vs tetsu. Looking at a larger scale outside bossing where you don't need quite so much defence even the GWD sets (bandos, arma, subj) work out as better than Pop for slaying as the def lose isn't big enough to really impact + again the damage booster makes them greater. The things that really are crashing and have lost out as things stands (in the top end) are: Pop Armour, Glacor Boots, Automaton Gloves. To a lesser extent barrows and ganodermic have also taken a hit, but they have the saving grace of being cheap in the first place vs GWD armours to make them the next best option (seeing as basically nothing of actual use seems to be offensive gear other than nex and gwd sets) Subj, Arma and Bandos are all seeing spikes from this update. Nex sets seem largely unaffected as they pretty much just stayed as top dog. Just my obersvations.
  4. I was trying to figure what the 8 factions would be. Godless - BTS Zamorak - BTS Armadyl - BTS Saradomin - Obvious Bandos - Obvious Zaros - Obvious 7 & 8 are a little less easy to place though. Firstly will Guthix basically be the 'godless' faction? Or will he garner a separate slot? Then we have a few other candidates for the remainin slots: Seren, Tumeken/Desert, Marimbo, Fremminik God, Karamjan God Personally I'd lean towards 7 & 8 being Seren and Tumeken/Desert since MArimbo etc. are quite minor and it'd be odd to mention guthix's teachings in relation to godless and then have a guthix faction as well. The 'boosts' from the upgrade standards could be good and the under-the-hood bonus xp thing sounds interesting, thought does it not somewhat render the pendants and clothes being pendants and clothes mute if you only need own them? Also how will the time-limited boon from the sof clothes work with this, does this mean as soon as you get the item you have limited time use? Prayer thing sounds kinda cool, but useless to me. Farming could have potential - part of my wonders with the point they made about mentioning 'god brews' and having the 8 god factions now whether it's gonna be a sly slip in of extra brew potions (more than just super/extreme sara/zammy brew). Hopefully they are all useful and not just for the sake of filling things out plants though. (eg if the new hop patch stuff is just more hops its gonna be a waste) Also on comments about the 'early 2013' stuff, as mentioned by jmods in like jan-ish first skill was being slated for summer so it's a safe bet that he vague terms of "early" and "late" simply refer to roughly jan-june and july-dec. Also the 'less rwt' promise they have kinda kept, what they promised in full was to scale it back so it's less intrusive and ott. I'd say they've done this quite successfully with sof and soloman being reduced to 1 update a week at most, usually at the weekend for sof and strapped to the main update for soloman opposed to the page and a half of sof newsposts we saw last year that knocked game updates off the front page within like hours of the update. Plus they haven't been attacking us with in-game pop ups for them anymore and they did recently make the sof thingy less intrusive if you chose to ignore spins all together.
  5. Why exactly are we arrogant for having opinions on the update? Especially when said opinions are perfectly valid considering regardless of how you spin it 'tank' armour, especially in upper tiers, is hardly better than 'power' armour in defence and lacks the damage boons. The numbers show this plain and simple: 'tank' armour got screwed and has almost no use inspite of Jagex toting it is required for bossing. Not to mention the fact hybrid got royally dumped on with it giving erratic bonuses that are not balanced across the classes, the exact opposite of what hybrid gear should do, not to mention it actually gives negatives to defence in many cases rendering it utterly useless. The eoc whining seen in-game and on RSOF from people who can't find anything right - but tip.it is far from that, when we have negative views here (for the most part) it is based on what Jagex has actually done and it's direct impact on the usability of gears and tactics. None of us have claimed we could code it better or any such thing - but given that the armour stats has nothing to do with coding this is hardly relevant plus prior to this many of us expressly pointed out arbitarily assigning sets as off, def or hybrid would be hugely flawed and was counter to what most people suggested aka giving ALL sets an o, d and maybe h variant that are either separate items or switchable on 1 item OR making sure tiers alternated between o and d with o having larger defence limitations and d having bigger def boons to actually make a difference (opposed to like 300 defence diff between torva and tetsu, which is almost entirely negligible especially with torvas dmg boost). Also why so surprised there's limited debate on how the pot/pray stuff works now, we have to figure out the base level of what armour and weps do vs monsters again before we can fathom what pots and prayers are actually doing.
  6. That's the hard part lol Yeah I bet. I think at least doing things in tandem would be appreciated, but that could be more than just wishful thinking. The thing is they ARE doing them in tandem of sorts. A lot of this issue atm isn't do with optimisation - other than a certain GPU's it is optimised pretty well. It is the bugs and crashes that are slowing down the FPS for a lot of people. Many people via the bug fixes have seen the FPS quadruple or more (eg I gone from 5fps average to 20 fps average [which fyi is higher than I get on live game on my mac]) It's keep to remember in the kinda lingo they use optimisation =/= make the fps better in a literal sense; it more specifically means honing things that are operating correctly but are not doing so as efficiently as they should for specific hardware setups. Much of the current fps issues don;t remotely fall in to this category as they are caused by things operating incorrectly. The very nature of this means it would be redundant to start optimising now, as you may just be wasting time on something that wouldn't be an issue if bugs were not eating cpu/gpu usage up.
  7. After TWW you got god powers and you are crafting godly armours. What if you haven't done TWW and you have full PoP? TWW is one of the quests considered to be 'the past' regardless of completion status your character has done it; whenever you get round to playing it is just reliving it via flashback.
  8. But that LP value was prior to this update.. so nothing changed really It's obviously some employee making bank out of these (?) THAT ONE WHITE BOOTS GUY? OT: Anyone have any idea of what ports tradeable armor is going for? Mostly tetsu since I have my port set up to get that, and torva prices fell off a cliff.. Tetsu was going for around ge value earlier; most profit being on the 30m plate. With all this nerftasm hitting ports stuff I was like screw it, made all the tradable I could and flogged the lot figuring I'll stick with gwd tier stuff til I can get nex + have a nice tasty sum left over.
  9. Yeah use bellows on swamp bubbles is how ya fill em; can be a bit tricky cause the clickable area is only actually on the bubbles so as they pop and move so does what you can click. No need to right-click the bubbles either just hover over em and time your click before they pop and are no longer tere.
  10. Is it just me or is the rs site being a pita? Cannot get the dev blog or hit chance wiki page to load at all =/
  11. Tbf, at least in part, this comes from skewing defence to tighter fit the triangle. Mage armour (aka strong to melee) would tank much better vs bandits than melee gear.
  12. I'm curious how glacor boots and automaton gloves stack up against nex ones now.
  13. They're still the best in game and longer / harder KK kills means prices will go up. I may make back the money I lost buying my mace when they were 110+ mil Volcanic creatures and Thzaar are 2 different tasks as far as the system is concerned. Thzaar task = kill thzaar. Volcanic Creatures task = what you end up with if you take Kuradals special and opt to do Jad I'd assume you chose to block it whilst on a Jad special, opposed to plain thzaar task hence it does basically nothing since volcanic creatures aren't a task assigned in the usual way.
  14. Wait do you mean they are down that much for before change or literally they now give negative values?
  15. I was not implying str should affect hit chance. I was commenting on the fact that levels affecting not affecting combat enough vs gear is NOT an issue purely exclusive to accuracy or 'hit chance' and that alongside these changes damage and max hit should've been altered to depend more on your stats than just gear as well, seeing as how it stands each level only gives like 1 more damage give or take which is pointless when even unarmed you can hit triple digits.
  16. The lack of mention of strength having any effect at all for the 'hitchance' thing seems to of confirmed most peoples major concern: They have done a half-assed job and only dealt with accuracy and defence and have not tied max-hit/damage to strength stats better in any way shape or form. The armor thing I'll hold judgment until we get some stat info, but as expressed in other threads the binary division of x is offence, y is defence has potential to be awful; especially since the way they've worded things it implies there is even potential for things like bandos to usurp port armor for slaying.
  17. I'd disagree entirely 1) Lag is subjective. 2) Why on earth would cutscenes 'scare' anyone? 3) It's only boring if you are a vet and knows how to play so it's same old same old 4) It IS skippable. 5) The whole point of the new tutorial was that half the noobs got scared off because nothing was explained; sure back in our day the tutorial was much shorter; but guess what? There was much less to be told back then, we learnt about rc and herblore and construction and summoning and new interfaces in dribs and drabs as the updates came along. It's a very different ballpark to just be presented with the entire mass and go off you go, do stuff! 7) If anything a lot of recent updates HAVE simplified things - unified skilling interfaces, straight forward tutorials available for all the skills, hints and markers to help you find places and things to do, everything you could possibly need to do any skill in the low levels all in one area. Quest remakes that take about the needless walking from a-b for the sake of getting an item and instead focussing on story and action.
  18. Warband fc issues apparently stem from 1 guy (I got friends in the ranks) Basically they had the truce then the 1 guy called the truce off because he disliked Warband pk ffa wand rule. Prior to this his attitude and rule changes had annoyed many of the staff and users who had jumped ship to warband pk. With the truce called off many more followed suit. In the wake of this the ranks have usurped the fc from this guy (creating warbanding) which is once again at a truce with warband pk sharing team cape 16 and using the rule of wand ffa is allowed IF they share a world with warband pk, if they end up no a different world their usual rules of no-killing what so ever abide.
  19. Jagex reacting to feedback never seems to go quite right tbf. What people *really* wanted is for the choice for each and every armor to be defensive or offensive (and possibly hybrid too though it isn't too big a deal if its separate). It'd be far simpler imo for tiers and no fair armour x is better than y (read nex and pop obviously) if all armour was dropped/made as an unwearable X Plate then could at an anvil/bank/crafting stand be swapped to X Plate (o) or X Plate (d) (or X Plate (h)) where it becomes wearable with appropriate stats, but is also untradable until returned to plain X Plate. Interesting info for the Ga'al too, but hot dam they didn't half make it convoluted. It's outside of Thzaar and having the tokkul donation is only ONE of the conditions to make it appear!?!
  20. I think it'd work best if for smithing it was divided over like 3-5 levels per metal. Eg lvl 1 = 2h bronze weps + arrow heads etc. lvl 2 = lower bronze armour (eg sq and chain and med) lvl 3 = mh bronze weps lvl 4 = higher bronze armour (full, pl8 etc) lvl 5 = oh weps Or something like that, just so its not to densely packed up, but its not soooo stretched out either. There's even potential for say Steel onwards to have its third tier be on lvl so like rune would be unlocked at 48, 49, 50, 51, 52
  21. Another factor that would help matters a lot is to squash mining and smithing (and some crafting and fletching) stuff down to be level appropriate for the gear they make. Eg: Rune should be around the 50s for mine, smith and fletching the cbow. Hopefully it's not too big an ask either as rumour from jmod land few months back suggested that si exactly what they intend to do for mine n smith, but god knows when.
  22. To make defense actually mean something, or to make it so you can't camp indefinitely at (admittedly lower-tier) boss monsters? I'm pretty sure he means what would be the point of soul split then. Personally I don't see the issue with SS too much tbh - sure it lets you camp low end bosses pretty much indefinitely, but it is a higher tier prayer requiring over lvl 90 to even use. Of course it's going to be over powered against lower tier stuff, they can't balance high end stuff against how it performs on low end fights if they did everything would just be really rubbish.
  23. The slightly funny thing atm with Warband pk having pk warband also people are dumb and not picking up on the team cape rule and of course the 'kill white dots' rule stands. Therefore you end up with 2 issues: 1) Users of one of the fcs freaking out at all the white dotes because they don't have a cape so the entire other fc is white dots. 2) Users inside one of the fcs being killed because they are a white dot to the other fc due to lack of cape. Neither is major though, case 1 is just a noob freakin' out who needs to read rules, case 2 is just a noob dying for not bothering to read rules
  24. I think one thing Jagex really needs to pull their finger out and do is move the Combat Academy to Burthorpe, design wise it'd roughly fit in tht circle bank chesty area anyway and would make a good prelude to the whole troll attack story of the current tutorial. I also wonder whether world choice influenced things here, yes the buying of gear is still an issue but if you paid the $7 I'm assuming you were on a members world, whilst most noobs would be on a f2p world.
  25. Tbf on the whole toggle hiding thing they have said keybinds to hide/show things are on the way so you can literally have a blank interface setup are enroute; it just hasn't been coded yet. Thye have also confirmed transparency options and ability to get rid of the brown title bars to be in the works. A lot of these complaints are valid, but not needed as they are on the to do list and you have to remember though it looks shiny this is an alpha test, this isn't even up to beta standard yet - there's no need to decry it for having issues in such a 'oh its useless jagex fails' way we have the alpha for the very purpose of giving constructive input early on to get it changed.
