  1. But people are only 100k kills IF they survive to get the 25 rewards. What will kill the content (if anything) will be the pkers who stalk these events just to slaughter everyone before totem thing is even drained let alone them getting rewards. And whilst the xp is better than the kill far to many pkers these days are purely in it to grief others.
  2. An API system for plugins would be awesome, especially if it offered simple, automated ways to sync data between users. Obviously applications right there to upgrade the DGS team functions - no faff automatic via rs output. Plus would offer potential for many other things like pyramid plunder doors applet, fish flingers bait applet etc. where data can be shared to users on same world. Could even have uses for fansites/external apps if it could provide data like GE offer status, GE prices, port status, live xp etc. EG you log in tot tip.it calcs via a Jagex-made login api then they can retrieve your account data directly.
  3. I wonder if we are going to have a 'live beta' of sorts. Eg the beta is still the live game just with the alternate engine running it - would certainly wrack up much more play time as everyone with access could just do their day-to-day RSing

  5. Yes Runescape 2 was what is was called in development and beta. How it went: Runescape Runescape + Runescape 2 beta Runescape Classic + Runescape. So basically this will be rs3 right up until release at which point it'll simply be Runescape. This overhaul should not raise system reqs at all, if anything it'll make it easier to run on all but the older systems.
  6. But the number iterations aren't necessarily all about what you can see at all - they are entirely about the backend engine. Rs1 > Rs2 Was about a rewrite to support true 3D Rs2 > Rs3 Is about opening up the mobile market, optimising and brining in many other things like better drawn distances, better rendering, customisable interfaces. The visual changes are gonna be a minor icing on the cake to what the back end change makes feasible.
  7. The lure of prayer and summon xp may make me try these out HOWEVER 8 hourly for only 3 a day seems a bit unfair. Let's say first one occurs 8am Gmt then its 4pm Gmt and midnight Gmt - fair enough reasonably spread out but what if you aren't able to play at those exact times? 8am you may be heading out the door to work, 4pm you may not be back from work then with leaving at 8am you may be sleeping at midnight. Sure you could tailor them to be suitable eg aim for one at 8pm, but then what of other timezones? Also whilst it is meant to promote risk I can see this being royally screwed if you are pk-able whilst doing the first draining part and even if your not pkers can just run into the middle get spotted and make it do the 'bad' route. If it was my design I think I'd not include the 'don't be seen' bit which is obviously quite easy to purposefully ruin (even if it was simple a case of the aura thingie means you can't get in the middle) and make it so that a small region around the camp is temporarily non-pk as long as you are in the action of draining. In other news off-hand dg weps sounds nice - I wonder how it's been balanced eg will they be made, drop and bind as pairs or are we gonna have to track down both? The imp thing they mentioned intrigues me as well, wonder what purpose they could serve in dungs. As for whats on that screen it could literally be ANYTHING those placeholder graphics may not look anything like the final product and its just in generic grass background for design. Would be nice if it was WIP poh overhaul though.

Back to topic, I just watch this video (yay subtitles) and now I am pumped. However, having RS3 coming in the summer doesn't leave a lot of time considering we are in March. I'm incline to think this is a late summer summer release. I am excited about everything really, but I wonder how bad having only done selective quest effect you now. It's been discussed that your character doen't really move on until you finish every quest beofre TWW so having done it, every quest I do now before TWW is a flashback. Will they just work on the bases that you have to do every quest from TWW or will you still be able to avoid a good part of them. Also I wonder what the first quest would be? Early summer is feasible IMO. I mean we've known they are working on html5 and subsequently RS3 since before EoC, the bestiary has almost been out for a month and that uses some of the back engine and we've heard for Mod Pips a while back april beta was planned. As for TWW: TWW and all its prerequisites (aka basically most quests in rs) are the past and will soon have heads up when you start to say this. Playing them now is essentially a flashback to things that have already happened. Ground 0 no quest Rs as it stands now assumes all the events of those quests have happened and will build on them even in noob level quests.

Miniclip was the end of Runescape, remember? Face the facts, 07 version (which has less shit updates) has more players than `13 version, that tells you something doesn't it? Except it doesn't http://www.misplaced.../2007online.php Online user data scrapes for both games clearly shows they have been running around 50:50 (with 07 mostly slightly behind) until the past day or so where 07scape has gone much lower. So how about you face real numerical facts rather than making up BS 'fact' claims.

RS2 was the death of it, and rune before that and addy mith and black before that and adding more than just lumbridge before that and adding tuorial island was also a death. The only thing that dies more often than runescape (by popular opinion) is Dr Who.

  13. The obvious solution is all the changes will be cosmetic and in any case where it is a useful reward (eg a new mine) the choices will only effect what NPC/God 'own' it.

  15. The draw distance, improved camera, possible skyboxes (judging by that burthorpe shot) and quest choices actually effecting YOUR game world sound awesome. Wonder if html5 engine overcomes the prior issue with changing things where the objects have to be physically there for everyone (eg the edgeville damage all stays in same sqs as originals and the hidden urns in pp are blocked squares if u dont have the scptre) Would be kinda cool if say, a quest choice restored west ardy and got rid of the wall and you could just walk over there but for others the wall remained for example.

  18. By using any Jagex product, you confirm that you have read the latest revision of their Terms and Conditions and that you agree to abide by them. So you can't just agree with a rule before they change it, you will always have to agree with the current rules in the game before you can play. ^ trudat Any changes to rules or T&Cs are perfectly allowable and you auto-accept them by continuing to use them product - the only condition is they need to make reasonable effort to promote/inform about the change eg post a news article about it. And lol at the idea of a game's company is like a government and players should have say. They are not elected and have 0 obligation to do things democratically - just like any company they do what they want regardless of customer views. Sure it's in their interest to do what the players as a whole want, but there not obliged to; not to mention the fact this change WAS a player asked for change. They asked us about it and majority that responded wanted this.
  19. I don't think you can use two As far as I recall all 3 on bottom row (boat, specs and fots) grey out and go to 'active' once applied and can't be added too.

  21. On this point, it's worth mentioning we have a visual on Bandos from the Origin of Gielinor video. There's a frame where we see Bandos fighting Saradomin. (RS Wiki has a screenshot.) He has the body shape of an ourg, but his face is more pig-like than Graardor's, so it's iffy. Worth noting we have an ASSUMED visual, it is by no means confirmed. Yes all logical clues would point to it being Bandos, but we have no actual confirmation of this.

  23. The god I most wanna kill is Amascut. She's such a devious lil minx I mean she literally stole Ampken's senses! She got Het blamed for stuff to cause the desert divide and she used Icthalrin and Scarabas powers to muck up Soph and Menaphos not to mention the whole disguises tricking us dealio. ^If you think Saradominists are on the whole 'good' you missed a butt load of lore. White and Temple Knights are the fishiest mofos in the game - we even been warned against them and they STILL haven't given a good explanation as to where King Vallance has inexplicably vanished too (or how it conveniently gives them power). Not to mention H.A.M seem to be Saradominists iirc and the Sara guys plotting with Zammy guys to break the Salve and our loverly Icyene with her we will slaughter guthix and hack anyone in the way to bits. Of course there is a distinction to be made between true Saradominists and the sort of passive Saradominist of most 'normal folks' (I kinda see it as the average Gielinorian is just Saradominist in the same way the average Brit or Yank are often Christian technically but don't really have any religiousness about em)

Zaros dead thing: As confirmed by Mod Osbourne, one power Zaros acquired over the years was to take on a spirit form and leave his body entirely, in the instant Zamorak stabbed him in the back he used this power, so whilst his body died and with it a portion of his power (which Zamorak got) he did not die entirely. As mentioned, also by Mod Osbourne, only Saradomin made it back thus far as all the other gods have 'wandered far' (eg Armdyls prob off on his home world sobbing over Avianses still) and/or have other blocks in their way. For Zaros this block is the lack of a body, hence the need for a host that has risen in other discussion. I know we kinda covered it, but I felt it needed a more thorough answer.
  25. Stories are fairly easy to track: 1 Story voyage per adventurer per region. Plus 6 trio voyages at the end. By your stats you have all the adventurers, so that right there is 36 single voyages. Then the trio voyages are: Occultist, Assassin, Whaler Biologist, Missionary, Convict To get them you need 2/3 of the relevant adventurers in port. Since you have 39/42 I'd assume you've done 1 set of trios, probably the set you happen to be luring in via the totems. But it is possible you've done 1 of one story and 2 of the other.
