What updates would you like to see in EoC?
It'd be great for like a week - then Jagex would patch their precious Nex armours more so the usefulness of t90 would be questionable/borderline.

Since learning the worlds are staggered at half hour intervals the time thing isn't an issue. What is an issue is an issue, currently, is it seems to be hard to actually predict when they are going to occur. Hazarding a guess I'd say the discrepancies seen thus far from Rswikis times are caused by the 8 hour timer starting when a camp finishes. So on a busy world your talking like 5-10mins if the camp gets downed, but if the camps linger for say an hour if unfinished (which is often the case it seems as they are a pita if some douche runs in the middle and ruins the siphon/summon allies bit) then it offsets them by an hour. Please Jagex just give us a timer of Quarcus!

Fight Kiln
Yes there are other means to do things, but there's no point in wasting crystals - many guides advise pretty much ignoring them other than a few magic ones and 1 invunerable for the necessary running under jad moment. And even with all them things it is still handy because if you do mess up that 1 ability can give you massive healing - far more than any of the other things offer. I mean restore crystals aren't all that powerful. Also who says it has to be obby shield?, any old shield will do for triggering resonance. Not to mention resonance can be used far more often than the sparse crystals IF you do mess up. I'm not saying it's a vital piece of kit, just a nice extra for someone who isn't so experience with kiln as it offers a very easy heal via jad.

Having now attempted one of these I see my thoughts on the 'bad' route and sabotage are well founded: People run in and get seen to grief or because they are battle hungry - this entirely disables the drain and switch of the obelisk and without the opposing forces to divert attention the camp people are kind OP to try and fight, made worse by the fact many will then bail as they came armourless. Leaving the camp to linger on basically unbeatable and useless.

Obby armour is awesome, if you take all 3 helms you can style switch with 0 penalties super easy. Take them shield is a good choice, even if you dont use it all the time as that way you can use the defence ability that heals for whatever ur hit in next 6 seconds vs Jad if you mess up for a quick healing booster.

MTK profit?
Yeah maples and coal is probably best, but I dunno if MtK is all that strong in 07scape yet - Has gp garner enough worth yet?

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Totem wise I'd say: 2 - 4 Tree + 0 - 2 Telescope until upgrades/crew done. 2 - 4 Telescope + 0 - 2 Jade until all the scrolls you want are done. 4 Jade as endgame. Probably the best route now.

The reason they want so few is so that everyone who's doing them will be doing them all at once. There's no point to it if there's no competition, so there has to be a good crowd for every warband. If they capped it at 3 a day (the most you can do in a 24 hour period atm) and doubled the rate to 4 hourly (so there's only 6 in a 24 hour period) how exactly would they become super sparse? The trouble with 8 hourly, as i covered in my post, is it can end up with a cycle where you can never actually reach the content. It's simple. You've now spread out all those people over twice as many spots, and so you have half the player density per game. They want a really high player density per game in order to enable the pk-er aspect they want. Not entirely true. If more people can access the content due to the run times not excluding them entirely then you'd get like 150-200% more players per day than from the 8 hour games, so even with the extra time slots player density wouldn't take too much of a hit. Plus like I said it wouldn't become super sparse - they'd still be enough for a decent competitive pker element. It's all very well extolling the virtues of the 8 hour cycle, especially if you CAN get there - but it doesn't alter the fact its a poor choice as it is entirely possible that a lot of people simply cannot play at any of the times.

How many weeks before they patch in something so the ent thing can tell us how long until the next one? Also how many months before all these worldwide announcements that already have toggle options to turn em off if you do not want get moved outside the filter? I'd quite like announcements on these things but at the same time I do not want all the level up and other general spam that gets in the way of chat that filter allows me to ignore. Also totally agree on the 8 hours being too sparse, I can see they need to be rare due to high xp payout but couldn't you limit them to x-per-day like all the other D&Ds then bump em up to 4 hourly? I mean for example say you work 9am - 5pm, odds are you'd be in bed like 10-11pm at the latest - then lets say in your timezone you heard a camp happened at 1am. That'd be a 1am, 9am, 5pm cycle - so your out the door before the 9am one, not home til after the 5pm one and really ought to be asleep by the 1am one...when exactly are you meant to play this content?

They shouldn't be buffed, all the news said was several slayer monsters have had their lp values adjusted - probably to counter act the fact that they can be 1 hit by a lot of people.

10 year veteran cape help
If you talk to Han he WILL give you a chat box message telling you how long if you ask him about it. And if he won't give it to you its a pretty safe bet your account is not old enough, simple as, but he WILL tell you days til you can claim it. Two factors to remember in account age: 1) It is THIS account if you played RSC on some other noob accounts that doesn't matter. 2) The earliest 'join date' Hans uses is from feb 02 when members launched and Jagex actually started tracking join dates.

I'm curious - how is a single use then destroyed teleport to Varrock museum that useful?

What updates would you like to see in EoC?
^ To point 3 I'd say WHY? The whole point of spell cost changes was to lower costs to get magic on par with others and to begin moving away from consumable ammo. There is no reasons or need to bring them back and lunar remained largely unchanged because it was the evolution of COMBAT - the non-combat spells on normal and ancient didn't get changed either cost wise.

Old School display help!
It's a common by product of some types of lag/data interruption/lose, even in the live game. It occurs when you depress the key in a moment of lag causing the depress command to never reach to actual game server - the solution is to press that same direction again and let go so that the depress gets registered stopping the movement.

While I also have second thoughs about the performance it is not as bad as you think. Modern javascript engines (such as V8 and SpiderMonkey) compile (and optimize!) to bytecode or native machine code internally, they might even cache this. This includes things like type interference. For example "var bla = 5;" might get converted to an actual integer internally. There is also the asm.js project which was on news sites a week ago. They define a backwards compatible subset of the javascript language which lets you work with integers and floating points very efficiently. They showed a few benchmarks which were less than 2x as slow as equivalent C code (instead of 80x in one case). What I am more worried about is the performance and support of WebGL People's browsers will vary wildly, almost guaranteed that not every browser will have that. Also still the problem that the code wouldn't be compiled, which legally makes it hard for JaGEx to say "you will not reverse engineer this product..." No reverse engineering required when it's in plain text in front of you. It will still be compiled though because its not pure javascript acting in a webpage - its a mesh of javascript, html5 and webgl working as an applet of sorts, plus this is just the back engine not the actual game output. The game output will, presumably, also still be compiled in their in-house language (Runescript) so it's only the back engine that in any code we can understand.

Locking that I don't agree with
So you are basically using this as an excuse to bash Tripsis because she happens to be the one doing the locking? That's basically shooting the messenger because you don't like the messenger... I think that's a very serious accusation to make, and you should be careful about what you saw before you post it. No more serious than accusing a company of being racist on the flimsy premise of the 10 or so folks in their videos are all white (even though one of them wasn't).

Rs coming to consoles has never really been fully on the cards because they realised aaaaaagggges ago that the update vetting process by sony/mircosoft/nintendo means it'd be waaay behind and impossible to keep their update schedule plus all 3 do not allow inter-system play so it'd require splintering of the game, which they do not wanna do.

One bit that really annoyed me with that was the slight advertising spin alterations to history. Primarily Soloman was their first attempt at a new business model - no it wasn't SoF spins were. Also in the same region they were 'open and honest with the players from the start about these changes' - No you were not. You ignored commenting on it for several months, then fobbed us off with PR spin that we all saw through before FINALLY nearly a year later you admitted, in passing, in QA videos that it had been done as Runescape needed the money.

What updates would you like to see in EoC?
I can understand leaving HP, prayer and summon out but I think it should be more adaptive based on combat style. Eg it should be: x+def+2 But X should be: (attack+strength)/2 magic ranged (attack+strength+magic)/3 (attack+strength+ranged)/3 (magic+ranged)/2 Subject to weapons equipped, sure it could probably be improved further but at least that way it'd give a more accurate idea of their overall combat prowess for what they are doing. So like someone 99 att, str, def 50 magic and 10 ranged could be lvl 200 meleer lvl 151 mage lvl 111 ranger lvl 183 melee/mage lvl 170 melee/range lvl 131 mage/range

Tbf most of the eyecandy factor is probably a lot less to do with html5 vs pure java than it is to do with the engine being entirely rewritten. Bare in mind the engine we currently have is essentially the 2004 one, sure parts have been rewritten to do new tricks and various new bits have been bolted on but all in all it's gonna be quite a garbled mess with lots of older less useful code inside. This new engine being written from the ground up can homogeneous all those bolt ons and old codes and retweaked codes into a much tidier form plus opens the window to properly fully integrate newer tech things that were impossible to just bolt on to the old engine. Eg they can write it using newer codes that better utilise computer hardware - especially 64-bit and multi-cores

Runescape 3 is coming this summer...(BTS Bonus edition)
Well they said 1 early 13 and one late 13 and since then jmod hintathons have suggested first one to be summer, plus updates like skills and rs3 take a long time to plan. All in all I'd say logically first skill is going to be another runecrafting - a new skill that comes with the new engine (based on both being aimed at summer and the totaly fail that would be coding a brand new skill for the old engine at this stage) then the 2nd skill following later in the year.

About 8Gb is my thought, given the fact that you'll have all quest areas that are forgotten such as Underground Pass, Elves, etc. Personally, I hope with this update they do what I've always wanted to see; non-pk land above (north of) the Wilderness, what I mean is cities, towns, shops, etc. That would be an interesting way to expand the land, possibly some surviving Zarosian styled cities and some more Armadylian places
