  1. Auto-logging is irrelevant you can log out in the runespan as much as you like.
  2. "Over the whole weekend you’ll receive double points in the Runespan for any successful siphon." Is there much use for the points after you've already gotten all the wicked robes? That's rather vague though, I mean, points are calculated based off the runes in your inventory, and cashed in when you leave the Runespan. So I'm wondering if they're going to implement a new mechanic just for this weekend or take the lazy way out. I don't see how doubling points per rune is an issue, seems like you are over-thinking it. People already pretty accurately worked out like air rune is 0.3 points etc. All they dod is put in a *2 on the rune values table so an air rune becomes 0.6 and everything continues as normal with runes used/gained subtracting/adding points. Double points per rune. Each rune in inventory is cashed in for points upon leaving the Runespan. Suppose I go in now and stockpile 25k points worth of runes and stay in the Runespan. Come Saturday, how many points will they cash in for? Even with the alternate way of points doubled on exit you'd still face this issue. Only way around it would be everyone getting auto-ejected when the weekend turns on OR just not bothering with it as an problem.
  3. Tbf it sounds like the overhaul will make the triangle work nicely. From what they said it sounds like (for example) Melee armour defence will have big negatives on magic with matching big positives of ranged with decent melee posititves. So overall the stats of armours will mean you do have a balance on the triangle and hybridding/tribridding won't be as easy because it will come at the cost of really good defence.
  4. The ironic thing is, the "email registration" is actually a major security loophole. Many free-email providers are quite easy to hack, and if someone steals your e-mail account they can easily recover your RS account with it. That is a security loop-hole with your choice of email, not with RS. It actually makes rs more secure if you need to access an unrelated 3rd party account to successfully recover a password. But the point is, it creates a single-point-of-failure if all someone needs to do is steal your 3rd party account (and the names of many of those e-mail accounts were leaked when any number of the fansites were hacked). Jagex places too much emphasis on the e-mail recovery-- you don't need any other information to recover the account if you have control of the e-mail account tied to the RS account. I don't agree with that practice. But its not a single point of failure. It is a dual point. They need both your RS log-in AND access to the email account. And regardless of what spin you put on it your email being easily hackable is either a fault with the email providers security or your password and not Jagex's fault. It's not even like it's hard to get a good secure email provider with things like gmail around.

  7. But there's only so far you can go with small changes. To get to the ideal Jagex seems to want from this if you did it in 'small steps' you'd just end up with a majorly unbalanced screwy system between certain steps. Even if they did thin it out a bit so the action bar etc were separate steps they overhaul of armour, weapons and monster stats would all have to come as 1 lump at least. Besides to say RS has been built on the same combat system for 10 years is kinda silly, it has evolved a heck of a lot eg range and mage became viable combat skills, summoning and prayer added a fair bit, curses and ancients and lunars all added new shades, poison, disease monsters with notable strengths and weakness, monsters where dodging etc is important. To me this is the natural next step, we have reached the limits of a click and wait system and it needs to morph further to allow new challenges. Besides jmods have said several times you WILL be able to still click and wait style it, it just won't be quite as good for DPS (and thus xp and profits)
  8. There are the ranks if you're interested in a trimmed comp cape. Hmm, trimmed comp cape isn't exactly in my reach yet =P And for as far as i know the staves also aren't that great... The staves doo look sexy though. Kinda wanna buy the greater one and load it with fertile soil for farming or house tele or something just to look cool. Certainly not a combat worthy item.
  9. Are you [bleep]ing kidding me. GG Jagex. GG Indeed. fyi i know you arent wats wrong with double points? point =/= xp
  10. I wonder if something they mentioned in game engine QA will be used in this, namely that they have the ability to make it so already fired mage and range attacks can either fly to a set target (eg where u were when they attacked) or still track you BUT actually get blocked by obstacles (eg run behind pillar arrow will hit pillar not you)
  11. News reading skill negative 99. It says right there in the news post adding to bonfires gives a booster percentage up to 6%(?) for 5+ players. Also touché Saradomin, touché.
  12. But other content is not obliterated the high end runes still have a high demand and now they have a much lower supply so normal runecrafting is amazing profits. Ease of doing it does not matter to xp rates. Most of the best xp rates in-game are easy to do compared to other methods for that skill. What does matter is versatility, which this brings to the skill and that some methods are for xp while others for for profit. This update brought this. Runespan = xp ZMI = xp and some profit Normal rc = profit. It's just pointless whining because it is the nature of an MMORPG that things get easier in time, every single skill, monster and quest in-game has been and will be made easier by content that post-dates it. It always will be the way of the game and whining about it is pointless just get on with it. In the grand scheme of things this is nothing in terms of 'making it easier' the cook-x and fletch-x blow it all outta the water. They went from 2 of the hardest to get 99s due to needing breaks for boredom and avoiding RSI to 2 skills you can do in like a week.
  13. I'd rather we get afk whining next so we don't have to trawl through pages of waaaa it got made easier waaaa I don't like it waaa this ruined the game for every single update just to read info people are posting.
  14. Actually the info given at runefest said that special moves/abilities would be unlocked as you advanced certain skills. eg 50 def might give you one tht lasts for 1 minute tht reduces damage by 10% whilst 50 str might give you a 30 second 1.25 damage multiplier and that these can be put in the action bar alongside assorted 'normal' things (eg special attack, eat shark etc) for when you do combat. I think the most interesting detail I've seen mentioned is the dissociation of attack styles and xp gains, with it being implied for melee regardless of weapon you can pick stab, slash or crush and whether you want to gain att, str, def or all 3. So for example you could crush with a whip, though obviously stats would make this particularly in-affective
  15. I don't really see it, sure they have similarities but then they are both pretty blog-standard anthropomorphic lizard-type creatures so it is to be expected.
  16. If it's the end of players using cookie cutter high level builds, I'll forgive Jagex for the SoF response  Hopefully with this whole stat shifting mash-up the cookie cutter builds will break. Eg I'd like to see say Torva have major crush def but poor elsewhere whilst say Dragon had the stab def so there'd be much more armour choices to be good at diff bosses even with a combat class.
  17. I really don't see the argument of boohoo it gives better rc xp than ZMI cause pre-ZMI is only a small margin better than the best altar choice; at ZMI level its only slightly better than ZMI. Sure ABOVE zmi it gets much better still but that's not a flaw thats a good thing, skills aren't meant to plateau they are meant to have a nice smooth curve all the way up to 99. And sure we can back and forth on the is it a mini-game issue but guess what! Jagex has decided it's not (no mini-game icon, not in mini-game section of wiki and devblog specifically says it is not), so it doesn't have to conform to those standards. And tbh the no over-world ties is kinda a flawed logic with this once since the actual part of rcing that gives the xp (the making of the runes) has almost no ties to the over-world the only exceptions being the relatively recent ZMI and Astral.
  18. It's better to plant everything required to attract Carrion Jadinkos and pay to scare off commons. No Jads = all flower seeds. Jads = Whatever seeds those present can drop. By just having Carrion attracted you'll get all herb seeds.
  19. None that I am aware of due to there being literally millions of combinations and the way things overlap it's not exactly easy to do unless jagex literally gave you the model database.
  20. PUK codes are provided by you cellular provider on request either via phoning them or some have a form on their website. There's no way to 'find yours out' you do not have one til they give you one because they generate the code send it via mobile network to the phone tell you it. The sim then unlocks if the code entered corresponds to the one sent to it via the mobile network. (Well thats the generalised jist of the process anyway to avoid getting too technical mumbo jumbo)
  21. Don't even really need calls for good nodes, whilst what spawns when and where is random the nodes to an extent are linked to specific islands and you can just find a nice small area to camp where you can easily see like a 1 island raidus of good islands. My 'base' island as a blood and death wraith and gets a fair amount of shifts and jumpers with a few skulls. Small islands north and SW get a lot of skulls, blood pools and bloody skulls (and the soul ones I can't do). 1 island south gets a lot of blood pools and skulls and jumpers. Good 80% of the time I can be on a skulls+ node in the area, 90% on nebula+ and the remaining 10% I got 2 blood wraiths which help with getting ess.
  22. Though floating ess is a bit of a pita since you can use more than 25 ess on 1 node.
  23. You never did get it from siphoning. Creatures give you Essence when they die. Nodes only give you runes. This is the fundamental part of the mechanic that means you HAVE to use the creatures and their slightly worse xp in order to be able to later use the nodes. It is also why it's good to camp a small area of islands opposed to 100% node running; the periodic nodeless periods (or atleast nodes worth doing) means you grab the creature(s) and end up with some more ess.
  24. Why? What makes it logical to you that existence should be older than x hundred billion years? It just doesn't make any sense to think that the age of the universe changes anything. Especially with our inability to even grasp that length of time. I never said it changed anything; you said to you a god would have to have created the universe to class as a god and that this was 'technically impossible'. I was simply following this through to the point that we know the universe has a point at which it began and therefore (based on cause and effect principle) logically some unknown factor caused the universe to be created. Whilst it certainly may be beyond our scientific grasp to create a universe it did in fact happen and our science knowledge logically dictates that something must of caused it, whatever that something may be.
  25. I was actually replying to Powerfrog directly, just broke the quote chain, but yeah the points do kind of converge.
