  1. Its the same mechanic however as seen by people using it and by the original news post the big change was that extra rare drops were added and Rows affect was slightly increased and it was applied to unqiue drop tables and some other activities.
  2. All the tweaks they made to it (though numerous) were ironing out bugged potions where u got the wrong thing back. Now in every single case vial + herb you save herbs unf + 2nd you save 2nd pot + 2nd/ (for extremes etc) you save the herb. Overloads is the only one that u might question and last I heard tht is still saving just the torstol.
  3. Tbf most if not all of the d & ds won't appear on the bar until you do them after having installed it. They remain for 90 days of inactivity as it is a reasonable amount of time for an inactive or infrequent user to still want the reminder; its not like they hard hard to overlook if they don;t apply to you and they will soon enough disappear if you really aren't using them at all.
  4. lol I like this question it is essentially: Other than all the rewards for doing dg are there any rewards for it? Makes me tempted to ask "Other than improving my poh and all the boons tht gives, doing quests, total levels, bragging rights and a few other perks such as hidey holes what are the rewards for construction?"
  5. Not necessarily, its subjective to how many monsters there are too fight. 10 monsters its only 1 less sure, but 100 monsters is 10 less. Go up to 1mil (so wuldnt apply to dg) and tht 10% is now 100,000
  6. Giant flaw in farming: 1) Most patches make a lose on the original seed making it more cost efficient to just buy the herbs 2) The patches that DO profit aren't the best herb xp ever and it is better to sell them to buy more appropriate herbs. Really? Ever since I remember, Farming herbs has always been a 100% profit; never a loss. :o Double checking current prices it seems most r in profitable grounds atm actually. I must be off on my ifno here then, or outdated atleast.

  8. So roughly 4.9m xp? Even the cheapest gp:xp herblore is like over 10gp:xp. Meaning you'd need at the very minimum 50mil-ish to do it, looking more like 80mil realistically Unless of course you want to uste insanely slow methods such as cleaning herbs, which can turn a profit according to ge prices or making plain attack pots which are like 2gp:xp
  9. I think that one element no-ones quite figured out yet, since a wide varieties of killing all thru to only killing what u must seem to churn out a full 10% Least I've yet to hear/see a well backed up and logical theory of how it works.
  10. So true. Nearly all stuck on a quests turn out to be the user having skipped a step cause it seems pointless in the guide or because they jsut overlooked it. Like lots of occasions in quests where you HAVE to talk to certain npcs even though it doesn't tell you much and you already know what to do after it; but you HAVE to do the talking to make it work.
  11. You should get a dialogue option to ask about it and subsequently get it straight away. Are you sure you're up to tht step, eg you have spoken to the high priest in entrana?
  12. I dunno after all the logout trick doesnt abuse any game mechanic in place for logging out as such. However it is clearly known a mechanic is in place to wipe potion/poison/disease/boosts/drains upon entering dg and between floors and using a overload around this is quite clearly abusing a bug in tht mechanic. But still not one ur likely to be punihsed for, its not a big abuse like when ppl culd get infite peng points n stuff
  13. You didn't read it carefully enough then because it says to read about all the updates for DG'ing in the patch notes + changes to the prestige system in the KB. >_> I read the patch notes. You didn't read my post or didn't understand my complaint. >_> Do these new updates make the gap between solo and team dunging exp gain smaller? No. I cannot find anything of the sort in the patch notes that the multiplier for solo has changed. However the updates for solo only that make bosses easier etc. make solo floors that much easier and faster than their grouped counterpart (though only slightly it must be said); which thus to an extent does bridge the xp gap in part.
  14. You sure? That quest hasn't been changed recently and after the last change it still needed flour in the skin dye making process.
  15. I never said the majority were extremely patriotic. I just said I thought America was probably slightly worse due to the higher presence of patriotism; its kind of a standard day-to-day thing, like the flags everywhere that is part of patriotism and to someone outside a patriotic society its a bit odd and unusual. To someone inside it is just the norm, but still the presence of the flag helps to imprint the flag and thus the great nation as a day-to-day thing and thus making it a day-to-day part of lives for everyone, whether they are actively patriotic or not; the foundations of patriotism are still there and instilled in them from birth as part of normality. Heck it works in ways most american's probably aren't even aware in terms of world news thats widely broadcasted elsewhere. I certainly talking to american's, who are generally quite well informed, have hit world news events they just have not come across at all in tv, papers or anything because the patriotic influence on news broadcasting didn't see it as relevant the same way other nations do.
  16. It was cited further up the thread. Patriotism is know to have social effects due to wanting to see the country as great and mighty all the time. News from the rest of the world gets ignored or overlooked leading to ignorance and news that reflects badly on the country is skewed or ignored. I mean you can clearly see it with hindsight from britian's patriotic days where we believed we ruled the worlds and had the empire and wanted to stamp out the "savage" cultures of people we conquered and viewed their people as "other" and had a general public ignorant to the abusive conditions faced by the empires subjects after we colonised them in their far reaching palces. They only knew of exotic foreign lands. Granted it nowhere near such a pronounced effect these days, but patriotism still does have impact on society in terms of ignorance, or at least willingness to accept ignorance. You can easily argue it has good side effects too, but in this threads context, particular relating to the picture of fb status, the negative side effects are the relevant element; heck you can even see the patriotic sentiments oozing from some of the status in there, especially the ones with historical inaccuracies. Edit: Ah it's Marco's post on first page that nicely covers what the patriotic ideas and ideals are and their negative effects and he's citing from surveys and such.
  17. I don't think so. You still gotta do the same number of floors in any 1 theme to tick them all and last I checked boss monsters (aside from the theme thing) weren't restricted to specific floors; once they are unlocked they can pop uo on any floor within their theme can they not?
  18. I never said it was wrong. I just used as an example of a typically patriotic feature of day-to-day life that is markedly visible within the US. The UK and other european nations are not patriotic as such and you barely see our flags anywhere, because displaying them all over the place is part of patriot behaviour
  19. How do you know? Can you link me to the related survey? All I see here (as well as on the RSOF) are a couple of people gleefully trolling the masses of pissed-off people who are "jelly" about the whole sigil/torstol business. The number of people who benefited/lost out from the glitch? Less than 1k most likely. The number of people that did other stuff during that 1 hour much more than 1k. Apparently, though, many members of the "much more than 1k" group is willing to sacrifice his progress in that 1 hour to ensure nobody gets a sigil due to a glitch. not true most people (who are still a minority) who seem to be FOR rollback were less concerned with others having gotten a sigil and more having a tantrum over "i didn't get one cause I was too slow therefore I want others to suffer lose by a rollback" kinda angle to it. What's the difference? Of course, you don't want others to get a sigil, because you bust your ass all the time in hopes of getting just one damn sigil, and suddenly a glitch comes and poof, people get 900M items by the dozen. What other reason would there be? The difference is its not a logical well thought out majority who want to see a rollback to avoid unfair gains by the minority and think it is reasonably worth doing despite the negative effects on those who did not partake. It's a childish minority who mainly want it for the selfish reason of I didn't benefit so why should other; even if it means the many other players who played no part might lose out on good trades or decent normal drops or lose level ups or quest completions.
  20. When I say government buildings i meant libraries, schools, hospitals all that stuff. Not just government head offices. But whatever you spin it you can't deny America is a highly patriotic country compared to most and that does have its knock on social effects, however slight.
  21. Yeah most of them have a failsafe in them at 90 days of non-use they go forum the list. I think they only ones tht nvr go are phoenix, skele horror and tog, I know circus and MTK can disappear and they are the only 5 in my list atm.

  23. I can understand why it would seem that way to an outsider, but take my word for it - America on the whole isn't what you see on the news. If you took an average American and put them in a room with an average Brit, they would get along fine. Average Americans are more like me than anything else - not really giving a [cabbage] about politics, just going on with our little lives, and I imagine that the average Brit is the same way. As for scarily patriotic and uninformed, I could agree with the patriotism to an extent but I definitely wouldn't say "scarily" patriotic. For uninformed, again, it depends who you're talking to. If they get their news from Fox, damn right they're probably uninformed, but again, most Brits who get their news from the Sun are also very uninformed. The bottom line is that the typical person in a developed nation isn't very different from the typical person in another developed nation. Anyone who thinks otherwise has been convinced by biased media and stereotypes, nothing else. I'd say this is largely true but I think America is slightly worse than other nations as most other nations don;t have such a patriotism kick even in day to day living and as covered earlier patriotism does sort of leading to higher levels of ignorance to things that don;t involve your country and a willingness to believe slanted news that doesn't show the negative side to your country. Which is sort of summarised nicely in the OPs picture, though obviously in an extremist sort of way. >don't live in america >make assertions about american culture even though you know very little about it ಠ_ಠ I know plenty enough about American culture, sure I've never lived in it. But I can safely say what the social effects of patriotism are and that America is more patriotic than like any other major nation these days. I mean don;t most government buildings etc fly the american flag? Isn't it not an important task to be putting the american flag up and down? Don;t americans celebrate independence day a majorly patriotic holiday? Don't a fair portion of schools (even if not the majority) do things where they quote tht pledge of allegiance thingy (again patriotic)? Is it not illegal to burn the american flag? etc.

  25. how are they "out of place" ? Clearly they are quite new and well maintained torches probably placed by the workers of Lumbridge to help guide them through the swamp mists to reach the mines and the fathers house and guide travellers. Just cause they are in a swamp doesn't mean they have to be abandoned and ruined.
