A friend of mine was the one posting it on the HLF several times over, eventually he got forumbanned with no reason why. Of course, it's kind of obvious why. They must really not like this site or something. "Posting it [..] several times over" -- sounds like spamming. Not really surprising that he was banned for it. It wasn't spam. He posted one thread, it got hidden with no reason given. He posted another thread and it got completely deleted, again with no reason. He wasn't creating several threads at once, just continuing the discussion.

A lot of the complaints seen in those reviews do make sense when you look at what's been going on in the game. It's not all bad either; the impression most of them seem to give is that it used to be a fun, quirky place to work with the regular staff jollies and the like, but poor management and people getting laid off so easily are starting to take their toll. The thread about this was hidden several times on the RSOF, with no reason given as to why. If those reviews were fake, surely the JMod hiding the thread would have said so.

Also, please, let me upload puushed files with a .png extension to these boards, it's driving me insane.

"Yes I had the full works security wise. My hotmail was breached (using gmail now) - and they managed to change the password of the account, and then change the e-mail for the account, in less then an hour. They then somehow managed to disable jag, get through the bank pin and wipe me out, I was unable to recover or get anything from jagex in the last two days or recover anything due to lack of e-mail owner-ship. Cheeky buggers even tried to get in to dropbox, other e-mail accounts and other networking sites, luckily no banks. I was doing my best to counter it as it happened, but it's difficult when your account isn't associated with any e-mail addresses you control. First time I've been hacked in 8 years, I am very secure for obvious reasons. Whoever did it, to be fair, is a professional." There's not much else he could have done.

It's just the generic "I don't make money as fast as that so I think it's a bad thing" that's been around forever.

It says aura, so it probably only lasts for like an hour a day. Wait for the official announcement.

I thought both the quests were excellent, although I wish they hadn't removed Tutorial Island :( http://puu.sh/1vdKm The people who were getting 30M xp per QBD kill aren't rolled back yet... they better be.

It's not just flipping though. Sometimes instant buying an item is just stupid and will lose you tens or hundreds of millions, in the case of higher partyhats or druidic respectively. Then what about people who are trying to bank resources with a limit on them for skills, and so need to leave the offer in for days, or weeks. More ge slots would certainly be convenient.

Warning, do NOT stake- New Glitch for stat boost.
Fallstar replied to 999134's topic in General Discussion
Doesn't Jagex announce when they ban people for RWT? I always thought that's why it was okay to list their names, since they'd officially been outed. ...sorry to derail things even further here. No, they only did it with WAD and a couple of others. Most of the players accused of RWT in that thread never admitted or were proved to be doing it, and many of them now have their accounts back. So why are we allowed to name those players, but not to name players when we could potentially be saving others from getting scammed? -

That's not true at all Kimberly. People were accusing Fishy and Starry of RWT several days before Jagex took action against them. Logdotzip regularly lists players who have been banned or temporarily banned, when we have no idea what they were banned for, claiming it was for RWT. It's double standards to not allow us to post the names of bug abusers we've seen in this thread. Anyway, anyone boxing over 100m is probably glitching now. It's not a particularly complicated one, it just involves the butterflies in jars which you can use on another player to boost their melee stats, and having a friend in the same arena as you. -

Is that debt a student loan type where it has next to 0 interest? If not, you're potentially paying thousands more just through interest than if you sold now and paid it off...

20-Nov-2012 - Evolution of Combat: Now Live!
Fallstar replied to Randox's topic in General Discussion
Care to PM me? Would like to pound out another 99 =3 Glacors are about 400k xp per hour without extremes/ovl boosting damage using fire wave and using momentum. Surge is probably 600k or so. Bursting lobs is probably high. Experience rates are now pretty much even across all combat styles. You can get 300k-600k in each style and not just range. Barraging monkeys with rock barrage and using a wand is a minimum of 1.2M mage xp/hr, and you can get it up to 1.5 with a few tricks. Combat xp/hr is just as unbalanced across the styles as it ever was. -

I submitted a bug report for every one that I found, and put them in the @Jmod thread. Not sure what else I can do. -

There are some pretty massive bugs though (can use momentum in duels with abilities turned off). And xp rates are still so unbalanced in some skills it's not even funny. (900k-1.2M mage xp/hr) It's less buggy than I expected, but then my expectations were about as low as you could get. -
I wonder if the dragon dyce leader will make the ones who switched over to Fishy pay the rank fees again :P

Finally bought one :) -
I'm a bit late to the party, but all I'm reading here is semantics. People can buy membership awarding faster experience rates and money making methods. Of course you won't call this Real-World Trading, you'd call this a SERVICE. That's all Squeal of Fortune and Solomon's Store are in the end. The difference between Jagex offering services that can award Gp/Xp and Third-Parties is Jagex is offering services for a game they own intellectual rights to. No, I think of membership as an expansion pack more than anything. In the members game, you still have to play content in game to be awarded the faster xp rates and gp rates. It's also at a reasonable cost - by paying £3.50/month, you received all the content. SoF on the other hand, does not take place in game, and is ridiculously expensive. There are clear differences between the two.

If you actually knew the guy, you would know that he is a massive Castle Wars fanatic. Before he got into gambling, that's pretty much all he did. Real castle wars too, not afking thousands of games like the cape hunters do nowadays. Also, take a loot at all the RSMVs he made years ago. Does that strike you as someone who doesn't care about the game? He obviously did. He was planning on quitting before he got banned, and yes it was because of Jagex, because of what they've done to the game. So it comes down to that point again: if you're going to quit, do you ignore the fact you can earn tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds, or do you sell out. You assume he quit because he couldn't be bothered to create another account to RWT on. That is a baseless assumption, and is entirely incorrect.

They don't deny that it's their fault, they merely point out that they aren't provided with any evidence. As for Starry, the gold he had on his account was worth a 6 figure sum. Even if I believed it was morally wrong to sell gp, I'd probably still do it for that amount. Who wouldn't?

If you didn't like it, and a combination of updates resulted in you considering quitting, would you quit with around £25K worth of gold on your account, or would you sell it, seeing as the game has lost all integrity already. If you aren't in that situation, or are wealthy irl, it's easy to take the moral high ground. But try putting yourself in someone else's shoes. I would honestly like to know who here would give up £25k because they believe RWT is wrong.

How about you stop being cynical and think for a second? Let's say I wanted to spend money on RWT. Would I rather give it to some random guy who will probably buy a new computer or video games with it, or would I rather give it to some random guy who has the opportunity to use it to directly change something in the game? The opportunity to use the money to fund something game related is greater than 0% chance of using it. We don't know what jagex is doing with the money, but I highly doubt all of it is being used for personal gain. And although the whole wealth != advantage rule is gone, there was no stopping anyone from rwt before SoF. You could pay people to train on your account for you, for example. Or buy gold. I agree with you. Players who RWT do so purely for their own benefit IRL. There is a chance that Jagex might put some of their profits back into the game, although we haven't see that happen yet. My problem is that 'legitimate' RWT exists in the first place, and why Jagex are allowed to do it, but not players.

Ignoring the blatent "RIP Old RS" theme of this post, the fact of the matter is times have changed. The game isn't owned by the people it was originally run by, and with changes in leadership comes changes in philosophies. Simple. The constant rehash of this argument seems to live on the notion that Jagex are the only people who have ever sold out, which in itself is comedic at best. They aren't the only people who've ever sold out. But if it's OK for Jagex to sell out, why not the players? If they're going to embrace RWT, why are the players banned from doing it?
