  1. To be fair, the odds in 0 comm flower poker (the game shown in that vid) are almost 50/50. The only host advantage is that if you tie 2 or 3 times in a row, the host wins. That doesn't happen often. If someone did want to go betting for whatever reason, I would highly suggest you ask your host to play flower poker rather than frosty flowers. Frosty flowers is highly weighted in the hosts favour, being 59% to 41% chance to win in the host's favour. Flower poker with a 5% commission and 3 ties = host wins is more like 54% to 46% in the host's favour. Obviously I would recommend you not bet at all, but if you are absolutely going to, FP is the way to go. A final note: black and white flowers have about a 1/500 chance of coming up, but obviously hosts record every time people get black/white so betters think that they actually have a good chance of getting the 3x bet. The effect the 3x black/white rule has on your odds of winning is effectively negligible. Although, I agree that the video is staged. Anyone capable of making 45b understands that gambling it is stupid for one, and for two that if they did want to gamble there are fairer ways of doing so (Log in pid boxing for example)
  2. Has no one considered that these people might actually just pay the tax? If it is as easy to clamp down on as certain people in this thread are claiming, surely the reason we have gold selling sites that have been around for nearly a decade now is either: 1. They pay their taxes. 2. Tax evasion is easier to get away with over prolonged periods of time than people in this thread claim. 3. The vast majority of these sites are not based in the USA, UK, Canada etc. but in China and some other eastern countries. Is anyone in this thread who is quoting various bits of laws familiar with tax law in such countries?
  3. If someone was intending to rwt significant amounts of gold, it would make sense to wait until just after the next bot nuke. If that is Fishy and Starry's intention, Jagex have effectively given them an extra couple hundred thousand with Botany Bay. They ought to at least send the guys at Jagex a cake. As for why Fishy and Starry haven't been banned yet, I'd guess they weren't silly enough to do a WAD and do straight up trades. Pretending to 'rage stake' using high pid dependence methods (and giving the buyer pid) will let you transfer large sums of money nearly undetectably. There'll be a lot of back and forth, but with the quantities of gp we are talking about eventually the maths will do it's thing.
  4. I personally almost always skipped abyssals and ice strykes. Out of curiosity, what is the slay xp/hr when soaing abyssals? Is soa enough of a dps increase to be worth not being on the lunar spellbook. (So unable to use the NPC contact + Sumona cancelling combo)
  5. Even if you barely pvm (like me) you still get through overloads fairly quickly. I made 2.5k of them over the course of 99 herblore, and have just over 1k left. The only time I use them is for slaying, dungeoneering and very occasionally for PvM. That said, I definitely wouldn't lamp herblore. If you don't have the charms banked, lamp summoning. If you do, lamp slayer unless you don't care about xp post 99. In which case do agility.
  6. I have a blue, some gear, about 3b in shards and cash, and 100k frost dragon bones waiting for the nuke. ~200m profit if dumped them now, but I think they'll rise more. Total value is around 8b, I peaked at 19 when I was hosting, but I had a string of bad luck on big bets and at DA when I went to rage stake and make it back.
  7. I'd probably say fishing after slayer and agility, IF you have summoning banked.
  8. The problem is that everyone had the same idea as you OP. Most people in Runescape bought at least one, and I know some people who bought thousands purely for the purpose of dumping them and crashing them when they are taken off the SoF. Either way, there are several orders of magnitude more fish masks in game than is required for them to behave like a discontinued item. Very few fish masks actually enter the game through SoF now; the difference between a fish mask now and a discontinued fish mask is utterly negligible. If I were you, I'd just sell the thing now and put the cash to better use. Also it looks like absolute shit. Pumpkins are actually relatively rare compared to other lowers and edibles, but they are so cheaply priced because people don't like how they look.
  9. Nex gear should have received a significant buff, as it was ridiculous that 30m a set gear was almost as good as 500m a set gear. Instead of choosing the obvious solution, Jagex brainstormed about the stupidest possible solution to the problem and rolled with that. I think the real problem here is that level 80 gear costs 500m. That level 80 gear is the highest tier of gear currently available. Of course there's going to be huge demand for it. Once level 90 and 99 sets are made available, sure level 80 req gear should drop sharply. The best of anything is always going to be significantly more expensive.
  10. He isn't playing as competitively at the moment.
  11. The actual fastest charms is chaos tunnel wfs with an iron or steel titan, so you could give that a go once you reach 95 summoning. Until then, barraging rock lobsters is your best bet. Also, remember to do the familiarisation minigame weekly. The triple charm reward when used at CT wfs on a slayer task got me just over 400 crimsons over the 40 minute period, so that's a nice weekly boost.

  13. 4 daily mage tree runs alone comes to 280k a day. Plus every 14 hours or so he can do palms and calquats. Then with regular fellstalk runs combined with a bit of tracker overlap (doesn't log out for 6hrs meaning when the 24 hr period 'starts' he already has one run down) and 600k a day on a tracker is perfectly possible.
  14. In his video he claims that he didn't set the website up. That is true, another host called 0st (otherwise known as Don Vidal, he does something to do with bots apparently) created the website. WAD also didn't sell gold through that website. The prices on that site were extremely high, so comparatively little was actually sold through the site. But if WAD says he didn't know of the site or approve of it, he's lieing. I doubt his new fc will do as well as the old one, the vast majority of gamblers are returning betters; they stick to one fc. Most of the ones you could make a significant profit off of will have moved over to Fishy or Smite's fc by now.
  15. Not to mention that Drumgun, Zarfot, Aasiwat, Paperbag, Kingduffy, Lan and a few others used to post in this thread.
  16. Get a rapier. Leeching dg at lower levels is in the 50-60 gp/xp range, but if you want to avoid the worst bits of dg, I'd advise you to do so.
  17. Firemaking, trimmed with Thieving.
  18. Died at aberrant spectres once when I equipped a rune full helm drop just to see what they looked like now. When my health shot down I got confused and started drinking ppots :L Only realized what happened after I died. DC'd and lost my kiln cape at corp. Was with friends luckily so they kept my other gear for me. Before the removal of the wilderness, I died for full rune more times than I can count. The one I remember best being when I was in edgeville dungeon, and I saw a ranger there. I thought rangers were weak, so attacked him. He was in black hides and had a magic shortbow, and continually hit in the 15-20 range on me. MSB spec finished me off, and I had more respect for rangers after that.
  19. 19, started playing at 12. Still going strong.
  20. For the top two the time spent accepting donations is negligible compared to getting 5b xp, and for others it varies so much. You can average 9-10m/hr from QBD at the moment once you get used to it, not sure what gp/hr Nex would be at the moment. The gloves and boots are going on the scale of hundreds of millions, so I guess it could be quite profitable right now. Investing only takes a few seconds to put your offers in, flipping requires more time spent at the ge. Merchanting in general would vary so much from player to player that it would be hard to give a generally accepted rate. It is assumed in the time calc at the moment that making money takes 0 time. Obviously this isn't the case, but for comparison purposes, it's not too big of a problem. I like the new % completed thing Gemeos.
  21. I recently got 99 slayer and all combats because of the EoC. Even if it is slightly faster in the EoC, it's just so much more effort. Plus slayer is fun in the current combat system IMO.
  22. I'm sure some people do care about those types of accounts, but I don't. I'm not saying that people shouldn't care about those things, just that personally it makes no difference to me if you're level 3 with 99 slayer or level 138 with 99 slayer or anywhere in between. You still have 99 slayer. It's not a case of being right or wrong either; it's a matter of opinion. It's my opinion that using a slower method doesn't make the end goal any more respectable. It's your opinion that it does. That's all there is to it. Also, where exactly have I been inconsistent in my position?
  23. I fully agree with this bit. However, we are going to have to agree to disagree when it comes to different methods within the same skill. If you want to do a skill by a slower method because you enjoy it, or because you want to prolong the skill, that's fine and understandable. However, doing something by a slower method because you expect your final achievement to be more worthy of respect is ludicrous. Suomi and Jake both have 200m wc. Suomi's method was significantly faster. But at the end of the day, what have they both achieved? 200m wc. You talk about putting 'work' in. If doing a skill is 'work' to you, why would you prolong it? I'm not going to give someone kudos because they spent longer than necessary doing something they don't enjoy. Just to clarify something: If someone trained a skill where the maximum xp rate was different, then that could be more worthy of respect in my opinion. For example, those who slayed before Smoking Kills, or did RC before Runespan, their xp achievements are worth more in my eyes than someone who trained those skills using current methods (and gained an equal amount of xp). But that's because they were still using the fastest possible method available to them at the time. If someone chose to do Slayer now without skipping tasks, that wouldn't be worth more in my eyes than someone who does.
  24. I don't really see the problem. People use efficiency as a layman's term when talking about RS, but you could just as easily define a ratio if you wanted to. Your progress towards goal X in time t/Maximum possible progress towards goal X in time t. That's what I would think of if I were to define efficiency in RS. If someone achieved 200m mining through iron ore, and another did it at LRC, the iron ore guy's achievement isn't greater than the LRC guy. They both achieved the exact same thing, only one of them did it faster. For sure the iron ore guy has to work longer, but that doesn't make his achievement any greater. Lol? Arbitrarily Jagex-given Xp rates are completely irrelevant. At the most, they're only a tool to help measure the real thing, the work actually done. If you pretend Xp did not exist and then looked at the history of the actual gameplay for a player, you'd get a far better way of judging a player's achievements. Tbh this shouldn't even be something I have to argue about, as it's obvious and is the de facto standard accepted by most people I know. The harder something is to achieve, the more people respect it. What you're saying is like saying Gertjaars and Zarfot were equal because they both had 2b Overall Xp or that Blocks is better than Lover Romeo because he has more Overall Xp than him. What I'm saying is nothing like equating Zarfot and Gertjaars actually. I used the example where in the same skill, training using a slower method doesn't make your achievement worth more than someone who uses a faster method. Training two completely different skills is obviously entirely different to that. 200m slay for example, is worth more than say 200m agility or fishing in my eyes, as it has the slowest maximum xp rate. What I am saying, is that if you don't use the maximum xp rate for a skill, that's your decision. It doesn't make your end result worth any more.
  25. I don't really see the problem. People use efficiency as a layman's term when talking about RS, but you could just as easily define a ratio if you wanted to.
