If you don't bet, how are gambling clans ruining anything for you? W67 had just as many spam bots advertising various floor selling fcs, but people don't seem to complain about that. If you do bet, go learn percentages again and read the part where you have to be 13+ to play this game.

Could have had it for $1500 more like after the dupe. What a strange thing to happen.

What really happened regarding the GP dupe - 80B/HR
Fallstar replied to jack994's topic in General Discussion
As far as I'm aware, laws regarding these things specifically mention 'tangible goods'. Runescape GP is not a tangible good, hence the reason all that happened to Viet master when he sold ~400B was his account got banned. There is nothing else Jagex can do. And since RSGP is an intangible good by law, all you have to do to be completely immune from any such legal action is sell to an English RWT site (they exist) and ask them to declare the money a gift. Legally all that has happened is that you received a gift of £s, as the trade of rsgp in return for those £s doesn't even exist from a legal viewpoint. -
Old, uncommon, or outdated training methods
Fallstar replied to HappyNooblet's topic in General Discussion
The Catherby yew spot. Picking flax. Fishing lobsters on karamja, cooking them and then going and training at the lesser demons in the volcano. Having the idea of buying logs in bulk then running them to the sawmill operator and selling the planks the day after construction was released. That was how I made my first mill for a d med, obby cape and obby shield, which was quite respectable gear at the time :P -
To be perfectly honest I don't think the abusers should have been banned. Rolled back for sure, (not that they'd have cared I guess) but it's Jagex's fault that the bug exists. You can't blame other people for the fact that you did a bad job and allowed a vast, game breaking, economy ruining bug into the game.

They might not be 'good' but they are decent. You can expect 15-20 per task. (so about 12-16k sum xp) And bearing in mind how much faster training summoning is with blue charms, it can be worth it. You have to take into account that even if you block gargoyles, the extra tasks you do instead most likely drop fewer blue charms, meaning you then have to spend more time using crims, greens or golds to actually train summoning.

After Do No Evil a 2k pop W2 Kalphite task is one of the fastest slay xp/hr tasks. Around 60-65k xp/hr. Without being on W2 or other 2k pop worlds, the respawn rate is too slow and you spend more time standing around than slaying. Gargoyles are up to you. I do them personally as they are a fast task due to low hitpoints and defence, and are decent blue charm droppers. Also greater demons can be cannoned in the revenant dungeon for good slay xp/hr, crims and again a 10-15 minute task - it's good slay points letting you block worse tasks. Just prot item, take a rapier and proselyte or something with ~2k cannonballs and a glory, in case of pkers. You can also have some fun with the massive bot trains coming through the greater demon cave for some reason every now and again :P In regard to your original question, with a slay list that favours a high sum:slay ratio, (I do sub 200 abyssal tasks, always do WFs, and do mutated jadinkos due to the exceptional melee xp/hr as my melees are lagging behind slayer) my summoning xp:slayer xp ratio is 95:100 BUT since runespan I've used my effigies on slayer, so the ratio should actually be closer to 1:1 than that. And I pick up all charms. (you can pick charms up losslessly if you can be arsed)

best hunter xp / click - while also being decent / time

3 trap red salamanders is pretty relaxed, and is still ~60-80k xp/hr. -
Depends. The term addiction usually carries negative connotations. If someone is enjoying themselves however, and the 'addiction' doesn't have a negative impact on their lives, what's the problem. That's how video game addiction differs from more classical addictions. Someone who smokes cannabis for a couple of years is at a higher risk of mental illness afterwards than someone who doesn't. Someone who plays a video game too much doesn't do significant physical or mental harm to themselves however. They might coincidentally have a poor diet or not excercise much, but that's a lifestyle problem, not the fault of the game. These people who do suffer because of poor lifestyles, that are also gamers, would probably have found something else to occupt their time whilst having a poor lifestyle. Being too lazy to exercise or eat properly isn't caused by video games.

There's multiple billions traded unevenly every hour in gambling, staking, donations, transferring gp between accounts etc. It would be perfectly possible to abuse this bug over a long period of time without Jagex having a reasonable chance of catching it. That said, it's a pretty major [bleep] up. Once the duped gold starts making it's way into the mainstream RS economy, the value of gp as an investment will drop significantly. 500m in a couple of weeks won't get you what 500m does now. Obviously the people who know about the bug with significant amounts of cash and shards will invest their wealth in other items (hence the recent fastest ever % rise in partyhat prices) but for those who do not know about it, this could have a massive negative impact.

Number1 Boss has been gaining quite a bit of xp recently, he seems likely to get back in the top 15.
-
You won't get banned for taking money off a friend who bots. In my time as a host a significant amount of money I've taken will have been botted, and I've received a whole 0 amount of care from Jagex. If that's all it is of course. If you are actually rwt'ing, the gold sellers are not likely to give away money, (or have an ip from the same continent as you...) making it highly unlikely the money is just a gift.

With a 9-5 Monday-Friday job, that's an average of 5.7 hours a day during which 0 xp can be gained, where previously they could gain xp. I guess if you compared the average max daily spins xp gained versus the xp you can get in 5.7 hours of normal skilling, that'll tell you if it's worth it. So I guess in theory it is worth having a job, using your spins on the skills where 5.7*xp/hr is less than max daily spins, and training faster skills with your other time. Then once you have maxed those skills where that is true via spins, quitting your job and plain old no lifing the remaining faster skills. It's entirely hypothetical of course, I expect front page players value their to date achievements too highly to degrade them by buying spins.

Isn't ganodermic also an option. Better mage attack than ahrim's, more affordable if Virtus is a significant investment for you, and has decent mage defense if you mess up a switch/lag. And the flakes are pretty cheap at the moment.

Just do your highest medium floor, C3+. Mine any promethium you see, the early GDs have cash heavy drops, open any chests etc. Probably best to duo it as going through the floor like that would irritate your teammates, aside from your friend.

It's Summer Party Time! - August 2nd, 2012
Fallstar replied to jayc3399's topic in General Discussion
I wonder how much cosmetic crap they actually have planned. Maybe the bucketload of clothes and emotes and a little content is going to be the norm now. -
Well there's only so many spins they could buy a day, so whilst spinning might be efficient, the xp you can get a day is also capped. Whereas straight up skilling isn't. And a job would take a lot of time up, meaning even with your newfound rwting capabilities, someone who just skills could probably do better than you anyway. There's also the question of if these players get a job, whether they would view spins as important enough to spend a lot of money on daily when they have proven themselves perfectly capable of skilling without RWT.
-
If you just want to max LFM isn't worth it. If you're more of a completionist, you'll want to get the golden mining suit before 80 mining.

Tip.It Times Tip.It Times - 29th July 2012
Fallstar replied to tripsis's topic in General Discussion
Well written post by TS Stormrage, although I would question whether we are currently getting just expensive yet crappy updates. Besides the obligatory SoF update, not much has really changed. There's always been poor and mediocre months, with a couple of well received updates. High level quests are almost always popular, as are slayer dungeons and new, challenging bosses. (So long as those slayer dungeons and bosses are actually worth doing). Whilst the QBD wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and the grotworms are basically non existent if you're not a bot, that doesn't mean anything. Jagex release bad content all the time. This is nothing new. And at least Jagex are making some changes to the beta based on player feedback (increased auto attack damage etc.). Solomon's store is pretty harmless, and that is what SoF should have been like too. But there's no use in pretending it'll be removed; Jagex have made it perfectly clear that it won't be. Endless complaining besides the obligatory groaning when they update SoF again doesn't really get us anywhere, and I expect that what little staff Jagex have going through forums for feedback just ignore anything that mentions SoF now. -
I like both that style of update, Sojournitis, and Poppe's style. Perhaps both could post updates in hide tags?

Slayer won't make you much money really, but if you're making your account a 'main' anyway, you might as well train combat via slayer.

WARNING: SwiftKit Domain Stolen (Now Resolved)
Fallstar replied to Mercifull's topic in General Discussion
Using the runescape official client in combination with MIRC is your best bet for swiftkit users until this is resolved. -
I personally did it with melee using this inv + familiar http://puu.sh/xy2k and this gear http://puu.sh/xxZc With nex armour you dont need a divine/ely so you can take the defender along to speed the kill up. I didn't bother avoiding the flame walls or anything, just sat and tanked it. W/O Nex gear I imagine it'd be the same except you need to dodge the flame walls.

Are goliaths gloves + dragon defender not > Maul?
