  1. Wait what? I'm pretty sure I got faster melee xp at Vyrelords. It was always 'fast' xp, but the removal of taunts + letting you exchange the rewards you get from dominion factor for xp books update (which was February sometime) made it 180k/hr + It's actually highly situational. Someone that has completed every quest will have to fight tough/long bosses, greatly slowing down their speed. Players that have only done 20 quests, the 20 easiest ones, will actually get waaay faster xp/hour from it, over 500k/h is possible. (Although it's unlikely to reach 110cb without having done at least a few quests that majorly screw you over unless planned in advance) But overall, even with all quests complete, it's pretty awesome xp on climber, probably still better than vyres.
  2. Wioneo brings up a good point. The average noob thinks hood is best. It's sad, but true. You can be ten times better at dungeoneering than them (Which isn't difficult) but if you don't have a hood they will call you a noob and even kick you. They also often dung together (which is such a stupid idea you should be grateful to be kicked) and if you go along with it, you're going to be the big target in any hood safe room. So if you dung in w77/w117 with random noobs, expect brain crushing amounts of irony, ignorance and stupidity in regards to using plate over hood. (The best solution is to... Not dung with these idiots)
  3. Hey! I resent that! This is what i do when runescape is up, too!
  4. Yep... I was at chaos tunnels black demons low prayer, risking bank... Looking forward to see how that turns out >.>
  5. That's true only when that constant medium is lower than their healing. In this case it isn't. I'm not talking about fighting where people tele after seconds, I'm talking about getting someone to the point where they're teleblocked entangled and rapidly draining their food, it's at times like that I'd prefer consistency. Same with a duel arena DM. If they're constantly healing, they can't attack, so they can't get breathing space to stop healing. Unlike most rushing, the idea is to guarantee the kill, not ride on the 10% chance you get a high enough hit.
  6. Ooops posted my post before reading yours. So with 227-479 without any situational boosts, equilibrium makes it 346-359? ...That can't be right, lol... Can it? :o 304-598 would become 453-448... The minimum hit being higher than the max... Lolwut. I must be doing something wrong here? I don't know how the two interact, you could be right. The average hit is still the same, so... I'm mainly thinking about for pvp. You could literally deal damage faster than they could eat, guaranteed, assuming you don't splash... It all seems a bit unreal. Tempted to buy Equilibrium to give it a test.

The minimum hit being higher than the max... Lolwut. I must be doing something wrong here? nevermind i forgot about the ring. 264-558 would be 403-418 though, making it 443-458, which still sounds ridiculous.
  8. Hmm. I have no idea how it all stacks together, but by doing: 110-270 + 7 levels * +5 for each level = 145-305 145-305 * 51% = 218-460 Again, i don't know how it stacks so that could be totally wrong. I believe I've seen higher hits than 460, too.
  9. That depends. You gain a lot of combat xp acquiring the gloves. So if you're not max combat, then it should be beneficial to do, although it's possibly slightly worse slayer xp overall. If gloves lasted 6 hours(?), and you got 1k hits an hour, with +4 max damage from the gloves, you should expect an extra 12000 damage. If it takes 4 minutes to get 5 kills for the gloves, you're wasting 22964 worth of damage if you were spending the time slaying using barrows gloves, making it 10964 less damage in those 6 hours. That's 0.53% of the estimated overall damage in those 6 hours. This is assuming 100% accuracy, calculated with true accuracy would be in goliath gloves advantage. And ignores overkill, which would be in barrow's advantage. There are definitely worse ways to spend your time than collecting the best gloves in the game.
  10. Well with a plate you have good defense over range and melee including bosses, but once you see a mage you have to protect against magic. With hood you can't be touched my range and melee, but once you see a mage YOU ARE GOING DOOOWWWWNNNN. Ahem. You'll take a lot of damage. Bosses hit you hard. Plus you'll still be attacked by all the non-humanoids, which there are many. I'm not a pro DGer, but I'm pretty sure those that are favor the plate.
  11. Hi. I understand that at 99 magic storm of armadyl has a minimum hit of 110 and a maximum hit of 270. Now. How is this effected by the +7 from roflcopter/overloads, both in terms of the stat increase I'd expect +35 for both min and max? And the +21% extra damage, does this apply to max only, or the minumum also? + the staff or arma and arcane stream are +30% mage damage, again, does this effect minimum or just the max? What would the damage range be at 106 magic with staff of arma and arcane stream?
  12. They're free and speed up kills a lot, especially if you open the interface, click attack, deploy, and click the monster they normally do around 3-500 damage per kill. I'll bring an extra extreme set and pot ever 5 min instead of 10 then. Thanks guys Yes they're free, but they still take about 4 minutes per 100, or 2.4 seconds per dreadnip. I don't think a dreadnip would speed up a kill by more than 1 goliath hit at a consistent rate, the waterfiends simply do not live long enough for the dreadnip to live to it's full potential. That's ignoring any time wasted failing to deploy the dreadnips, and the extra concentration required to use them. (I like to semi-AFK waterfiends and value the ability to do that highly :P) Although in favour of dreadnips, you do get quite a considerable amount of combat xp from doing dominion tower which you would value.
  13. I get around 160/h with max gear and 99 str/atk. I pot whenever I'm 120. The fact you're getting 150 with that gear and stats is impressive, although i guess i afk a lot :P Edit: Oh you're using dreads... I dunno if that's worth doing but i certainly don't use them.
  14. So I've been doing a lot of FoG lately. (I seriously have no idea why) and have 500 tokens... Would battle robes be worth using at glacors? I figure it would save half my (expensive) rune costs, i don't think i need the defense/prayer of better armour, and i already have the tokens.
  15. Its really limited to PVP, for practical use. Most other things you'll find the extra cost of runes is not worth whatever additional killspeed you will get. A great way to use it is in FoG. You get free runes. (Do it for the minigame armour/battlerobe charges)
  16. Gravite 2h is good for f2p pking... But f2p pking is just lame. (Sorry! It is!) I'd get scroll of efficiency, coal bag and longbow sight, just because they all have practical uses in P2P, unlike the other f2p rewards. Any additional tokens should be saved for when you become a member and want all the awesome rewards. Edit: Oh dear just saw your username... Probably not thinking about becoming a member... Oh well.
  17. I would not actively hunt for it, just train dungeoneering like you always do and get it when you get it. But i would bind the first one you find over your platebody just to try it out. It may be worse, but if you don't like it, you can get anything upto prom plate back in minutes using dung_smith FC, but the hood could take days of hunting and you would regret not giving it a chance. Also... Hedge is completely correct. If you're giving advice that is the opposite of what you should actually be doing for optimal speed, surely that is bad advice?
  18. 55. I cringe when people say "don't chin at low levels you get worse xp" well obviously, but it's still literally >*3 the best alternative and the levels come so quickly you'll be at a point where you get good xp per chin pretty fast. ...I'd also recommend sticking to reds. They're relatively cheap at the moment anyway.
  19. Prayer is really a big jump skill. You go 1-43. Then 43-70. Then 70-95. Then a few years later when you have more money than sense, you get 99. :P The reason is, theres really no reason to have any levels in between this. Having level 80 prayer will not do anything other than save you a couple prayer potions. I'd recommend getting extreme attack/strength potions though. :)
  20. Lots of people seem to do that... It makes me quite sad. 2500 * 87 = 217500xp an hour using gold charms to create barker toads, assuming you already have the charms. That only costs 1325000 coins, too. Making it about 6gp/xp. For reference, you need to collect over 500 crimsons an hour to compete with that xp rate, and the cost would be more, too. I'd also argue you can make >3000 pouches an hour using tokkul ring but whatever. Edit: For a very small loss (Still less than 8gp/xp) you can simply sell noted swamp toads to pikkupstix and buy unnoted, and make ~10000 pouches an hour, or 870k xp/hour... So yeah... USE YOUR GOD DAMN GOLDS <.<
  21. Hmm. Thanks a lot for that, Q. I do intend on getting 96 (and 99) summoning ASAP which means i will be using all crims and even green/golds, and also pushes me towards geysers... But the huge cost difference is giving me second thoughts. I put lavas in there mostly because i expected someone to call me stupid for missing out lavas, i didn't really consider actually collecting obby charms, but now you mention effigies.. I wonder what the effigy rate is with those, a single effigy is worth about an hour of charm collecting (+ a little extra for none summoning levels) which puts the fairly narrow time difference even narrower, not to mention the small amount of profit gained collecting which would cheapen the training AND the fairly impressive combat training is always a bonus... If i understand correctly, assuming i do manage 700 obby charms an hour (i have no idea how plausible that is.) Lava titans would save me 86m for 30 hours(over geysers), plus all the bonus stuff above. It seems silly NOT to do lavas now... Brb, researching drop rates of obby charms. :P
  22. Creating Geyser titans gives you 783.2xp and gives a loss of around 10k. Creating Lava titans gives you 730.4xp and gives a loss of around 1.6k. You must collect obsidian charms. Creating Moss Titans gives you 695.2xp and gives a loss of around 2.5k. So which is worth doing more, with glacors as the way to collect charms AND the money maker. (At around 45 kills/hour) Although I'm guessing there are universal GP/hour thresholds which make each one better, those would be nice to know.
  23. I like it a hell of a lot more than xp rewards. But the fact is, people only buy it for the xp, and i honestly don't mind the xp as long as we're all limited to in game spins.
  24. It is quite sad that i have to choose between leaving private chat on friends, and miss out on talking to people i have deleted due to inactivity/people i never added but they added me/potential PVM partners... OR deal with these spam bots that are getting more and more frequent. But i don't see what there is to gain from discussing it. Bots suck, yep. Jagex should do something about it as they are already aware of the problem, yep. ... Ok. Now what? Continue repeating the complaint about how much they suck? That sounds worse than being spammed by bots.
  25. Eeks is good for nex, corp, glacors, jad, armadyl... CKS is good for nothing. (There is no situation where the slightly higher defense is more useful than a dragon defender or DFS, except range vs range pvp, such as staking) Farseer is good for nothing, unless you use it as a free arcane, but arcane is cheap anyway. I'd recommend rigour and all the weapons except maybe cls and staff before any shield, though. (And surgebox above eek if you want to kill glacors)
