For starters please when you post ie 1st abstract 2nd abstract just update your thread rather than creating a new one... makes things a bit messy around here ;) Now onto your image... The render appears to be cut out poorly... I am not sure what program you are using but try to be as precise as possible (use magnify functions if needed). When you blur the entire render it makes it stand out like a sore thumb which is what you are trying to avoid ;) to make the image blend better try to either only blur the edges (so that they fade into the background) or change the opacity of the image if your program will allow you to do that. Try to use colors that complement each other will help as well ie. background colors compliment the render. Filter piles generally do not make for a good background (rather they come across messy :() try out different filters and see how they will look with some brushing etc. For help try checking out our FAQ and Resources sticky... it contains a lot of good information that may help you out :) Good Luck. ~Alduron

Please use the search function... this question has been asked many times. For quick reference all you had to do was look at the stickies in this forum... particularly one labeled Faq and Resources. Looks good but I am not too keen on that font... Not sure if it is the font style or if it could be blended some... I find Admin slightly hard to read and I do not think that color works with this sig perhaps if you stayed with a black or very dark shade? Just some thoughts. ~Alduron

Unfortunately using 1 filter in photoshop does not make a "photomanipulation" although the image has been altered it does not fit in the artistic definition. Try researching some tutorials or looking at our Faq and resources sticky. Generally a photo manip requires a hand edited (rather than just a pre-defined filter) change as you can see in the sample that was posted for you. Such changes generally contain various layers of brushing, color adjustments etc. Keep practicing :) ~Alduron
