  1. Also, there's not really hard to communicate well without programs like skype. Actually, when floors go fast enough, I find it a lot easier to use the ingame chat for communication, because it's so short and consise, and because ther'es no problem with having to repeat stuff if it wasn't catched the first time. The only program used a lot in my clan (DGS) is a map-saving tool, which allows you to view the map just a little bit more, but it's still something you can do fine without. I'd have to agree though, that it's a hard step up from not doing dg to doing well executed 5-man floors, mainly because there isn't anything in the gap between, where people can be taught the basics very well. But a clan dedicated for middle-levelled players would also go out of order quite fast, because people get "too good" for that clan, leaving it with too few people. (I remember back in the days, there were some attempts at mid level pc clans, and afaik, that never went well) But even though it's hard, I think anyone can get into team dg if they give it a try. There exists guides, ranging from the very basics, to more advanced techniques, and even the high levelled dg community knows about the importance of fresh blood, so as long as you're positive, you can get into it.
  2. on the other hand, they are very fast to get to, so if you just want to do half an hour before doing something else, you can do that without much loss. (or inbetween dg floors etc.)
  3. Red sals are better all the way from 69. You might consider changing to herblore habitat somewhere between 70 and 80. The xp there isn't great to start with, but getting scentless and farming potions isn't a bad idea. Obviously from 80 it's HH all the way, if you don't want to do Butterflies, as already mentioned.
  4. Do you have a vid on this fm+bonfire technique?
  5. to the guys already saying that the rewards isn't good enough, so that QBD will be dead, please consider that with the upcoming cb update in two months or so, there's a fair chance that the stats of different gear will be tweaked, and that might make this new bow better than it is now. It might even be that the reason it is sub-par now is that they didn't spend a lot of time balancing something that would be tweaked soon anyway.
  6. I just realised I've never even entered fish flingers.
  7. Just bring a few pieces of food in addition to your bunyip, and you should do fine. No need to bring in protection prayers. Add in a super defence pot as well if you want, they are cheap as dirt nowadays. Guthan is not worth it, it's better to just use your best attack and lose a few attack rounds if you have to eat, than to bother with the spear+loss of black mask/slay helmet.
  8. No they don't. Firemaking xp in dungeoneering is still awesome though, since you light fires much faster than in the overworld (every 1.2 sec) so it's very much worth it if you c2 wc+fish.
  9. Thank you SO much! Was fearing this post would just go unnoticed. :)
  10. Thank you! That really brightened up my day!
  11. I haven't slayed in a while; not since before the effigy nerf, and considering how I've got too many effiigies in my bank, I won't get any more while slaying. So I wondered, do anyone know approx what my block/skip list should look like when only slaying for xp and charms? I have a feelling that somewhere there would be a list from best to worst xp/h, that could be interesting - otherwise, just a block list, or a comment on how good stuff like steel and mithril dragons are now would be ok. If you need to take skills/gear into account, it's mostly lacking in summoning, where I'm lvl 95 atm, and though I have acess to overloads, I don't think I'll be using those for slayer. Uhm. I can't remember what else I should mention, but ask, and I shall answer. (although I hope someone got an answer for me too)
  12. Or 'afkable' skills are a lot more fun because you can, you know, TALK and have interesting conversations that help the time fly by because you are not tied down to having to click ever 1 second or so which makes talking impossible without denting your xp rates. It's not like it has to be either as afk as ivy, or so click heavy that you cannot talk or communicate at all. Slayer is a skill that have found a nice balance between these two. You can choose to only click once in a while, it's not hard to talk while doing that skill. But if you bring in a cannon, and a familiar with scrolls + spec weapon etc. then it can be very click-heavy, with an increased xp rate if you choose to. (I usually do something inbetween these)
  13. Although this looks like a good month, with both a quest and QBD, I must say I'm a bit disappointed about bonfires. I do agree that firemaking needed an update, as most people didn't like spending their time making endless lines of fire - this has been called for years upon years. My problem though, is that they are making this another AFK skill. Jagex have realised that people don't like grinding out their skills, and I'm ok with that. And they hear a lot of people say they like Ivy and being afk. But why on earth would a gaming company want their skills to be afk? It's even more boring than before, and the only reason people like it is because you can do other things in the same time. Isn't it a bit weird with a gaming company that seems to be content that their game is only something to be played in the background while the gamer can play another game (be it GW2, COD, or the sims) - just because the other game is actually fun? In my eyes, skills should rather be upgraded to take some effort. (not mindless clicking either) Some variables that make it so that you have to react to what happens on the screen. Just this amount of variation and the increased attention needed would make these skills at least a little more fun.
  14. the answer would be slaying, even if you don't account for this weeks nerf of effigies (drop rate is lowered)
  15. It's not the xp rates that makes a skill fun or not. At least not for me. Slayer for example is a very slow skill, but I'd rather train slayer than most other skills. Hunter is a fast skill, but it is so boring (for me) that i'd rather train agilty to 99 than hunter.
  16. People stopped training skills legitimately once effigies came out. Now they are butthurt that they don't have an easy way out of training skills. No... It's Jagex's fault for making the game function this way. It makes absolutely no sense that I now have to go find someone with the required skills to open my effigies. This is a stupid update. I put the blame on Jagex for creating Effigies in the first place. I am disappoint about the update too, but all I see is Jagex fixing a mistake they made long ago. Except it doesn't fix that. People will still use effigies, they will just spare skills like slayer for after their 97 effigy skills. So it just makes more troublesome, without solving anything. You have heard the phrase "Don't fix what isn't broken" right? Effigies were pretty broken, and they were fixed. I agree that effigies turned this game in the wrong direction, since I think skills should be trained by doing them. However, my point is that this didn't fix effigies. I can still train my rc level by effigy-scaping, I just can't hoard effigies before I get the skills to do them. If they lowered the xp an effegy gives, made them more rare, or even took them out of the game, then it would be fixing the problem they created.

  18. No more slaying before I can do my effigies then, I guess. 40-50 of them banked =/ Doesn't hurt the near-maxed players much though, does it? You can just use the effigies as you get them. It's worse for anyone that lacks skill to open all of them (or have to get boosts to do them)
  19. This goes for slayer, since I can't think of a crashable activity I do outside of that. If I see someone else in the spot, I hop, unless I've been hopping a long time, or that the spot can hold two people to some extent. (like kuradal steel dragons, if the other person is not using rapier/turm/extremes) If someone else come, I try to ask the other if they can hop, often they just don't understand that you both loose out by sharing the spot. If they refuse, I just hop (maybe adding a comment about him/her being egoistic) Or I just hop as soon as someone comes, since I can't be bothered to argue and stuff. Also, it's not often I get crashed when I'm cannoning. People seem to respect a cannon, so I usually get crashed (or "sharing spot") in Kuradal's.
  20. you know... That's got me thinking along the same lines too but nothing has been confirmed on that yet. We'll soon see wont we? That would slightly spoil the challenge, we can already have hours of potions in a single invent, new caves shoudn't take more than 2 hours imo. Combat famils (steel titan?) would also make it easier. Making it so that you would need steel titan for damage output, or a unicorn to keep up with the healing could be a solution though. If this is supposed to be a test for the guys that have all the combat gear and skills out there, then leaving out summoning wouldn't make much sense.
  21. I meant the Jad we already had with updated graphics. He's pictured doing his ranged attack (stamping his front feet in the ground)
  22. I actually laughed a bit when I saw the face of the new jad. But it looks like it'll be a good update of the tzhaar lands! :)
  23. Considering how the fremennik names follows the norse tradition of adding -dottir and -son depending on the gender, thor thorsdottir would be just wrong. The thing is that girls can have -son as a last name, because the name can be taken up as a familiy name. But if it's -dottir, then it's always a daughter. I can't think of one example where -dottir have been adopted as a family name.
  24. If that's the case, the comp-cape should get a bonus around +15 or maybe even +20. May I ask why you think that? As long as the comp cape is the best, it will be used, and the same or slightly better strength bonus, +prayer bonus, would assure that. Also, the difference in requirements for using a fire cape and the new one is beating the caves, and results in +4 strength. The difference between the comp cape of today, and the one that requires this new cape is exactly the same. Why should it give + 11-16 str?
  25. Do you think the new caves will be a requirement for comp cape (untrimmed)? Wouldn't the best solution to have it as a req, and then have the comp cape at +8 str too (or 8.5, although the rest of the stats would make it better anyway) In my eyes you haven't completed Runescape if you can't beat these, and the "problem" with this cape eventually being better than comp would be gone too.
