Bronies: Love it or Hate it?
I think the whole bronie thing was a small group of guys trying to be ironic. Then out of that other people on the sidelines got into it because you would already see groups of people posting it all over the internet. The people on the sidelines grew to love it and became bronies. The original trend starters moved on to something else already. Thats my theory but who knows maybe it all started because they really loved the show

what was your first job ! ?
my suggestion since you appear to have computer access. Find a job, anywhere, anywhen, anytime. Learn to program. Make apps in your freetime and eventually you will be able to make money off it.

Yeah, whoever set the prices is an idiot. There really is no other way to put it. There is a silver lining here, though. Fashionscapers can access the regular hairstyles from the customization menu now. thats about what they charged in maple story maybe they figured runescapers would be up to pay that much, which many fashionscapers are

Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+
the first 13 million xp for most skills isnt fun and doesnt pan out in content. Forgot 21 new levels per skill. What can those levels possible justify another 90m xp requirement for? If I am going to get 100m xp in a skill. I want roughly 10x the amount of content that is currently available to a player with lvl 99. Whoever misunderstands this needs to look at xp/time investment instead of 21 new levels

Frugal Living
Food is pretty cheap. Focus on cheap and filling things like beans and rice as a base for meals. Absolute cheapest can be $80 a month with a price range at $.50 a meal or so. Housing at least in socal for a 1 room apartment in any sort of decent neighborhood prepare to pay over $700 a month Entertainment can be cheaper. Tv doesnt need any service, if you have one an xbox + friends netflix account is all you need. A computer if you have one only costs electricty, id advise not paying for internet and leeching it off a computer illiterate nextdoor in an apartment situation. This has risks so keep it in mind. Electricty cost for entertainment $20 - 50 a month. Other upkeep can go down to 0. In reality though if you have any sort of social life the costs here can be significantly higher. A cheap cell phone service can be >$50 a month. No land line needed. Water and electricty should never exceed 100 a month. Cars are expensive. Assuming no maintenance its still registration, insurance and gas. In california a car is practically a necessity though so factor in another 200 (but realistically $400) a month. So for $1.3k or so you can afford to live on your own working full time minimum wage. As far as living goes it might be cheaper to have a roommate if you split the cost 50/50. I half wonder if I should do this myself and spend my freetime programming as spending money income/skill building. Because comp sci degrees are vastly becoming a joke for the most part among software companies looking for new developers. I feel more and more that the college path is a waste of time and money when I work for a software company as QA atm and most of the developers werent college grads they were people interested in learning programming.

200M in all Skills
well that may be true for most players. But maybe 1 in a million players actually enjoy grinding beyond completionist sake.

Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+
Even if it was fun, 120 still represents an extraordinary amount of grinding. I think Dungeoneering is actually a really fun skill, but it's still a really difficult stat to achieve, even with the super-fast XP gains at the end. You still don't see that many people walking around with True Dungeoneering Skillcapes and it's not even included with the Max Cape. Overall, it's just a bad direction in which to take the game. If a skill is fun, then the "grinding" is irrelevant because you're enjoying it every step of the way. lets say you enjoy CoD. Lets say you had a goal or there was an achievement for getting 1 million kills online. I wonder at what point it stops becoming being a fun match and it becomes kills per hour, kill farming, and other stuff that is much faster kills per hour but much less like regular gameplay. I can see some players in this situation making ghost accounts to farm, paying other players to leave their game on and stuff like that to get the achievement. Even if the regular game was fun for them I would imagine that this completionist personality type would see it as "xp waste"

99's take a long time. Unless xp rates were 5x faster then currently I dont see the need. After all it doesnt add new gameplay it just forces completionist type players to revisit content that they may have rushed to get out of the way previously.

200M in all Skills
I just did. And I play 0 hours of runescape personally, but view people who grind their like on rs to be no worse then that Forrest Gump clip, and for the most part people do it because they enjoy it. People like Zarfot did not enjoy it past a certain point and regretted doing things they didn't enjoy. To someone who did enjoy everything they did there is no loss even if you spent something like 1000 days playing

200M in all Skills
Lets say instead of runescape SUOMI was developing an indie game and had thrown as much time into learning/developing as he did into runescape. Let us also say that he enjoys developing his game for the sake of developing it, not necessarily to sell it. Lets also say that he released the game to market and this game was a colossal failure. Lets say that he still enjoyed developing this game regardless of it being a commercial failure and did not dream of stopping. How much different would SUOMI be today? He would have a set of money making skills that would still not be doing anything commercially for him, and still essentially have grinded the past 10 years on a wasted project. Even if this project was commercially successful, all it would mean for him is that he can buy fancier energy drinks for late night grinding on this games development [if thats all he cared about] Keep in mind he is free to change his mind whenever, if he felt compelled he can change his focus to becoming a Pickup artist or something. But even if the past 10 years was a total waste it was still a personal achievement. http://youtu.be/PMO3Swfc4FA ^ About as pointless as grinding in runescape

200M in all Skills
Saw this a few pages back - no, just no. I can't put a value on entertainment. If you are playing and enjoying yourself, then go for it. However saying that sacrificing what is essentially your life (16+hours a day [basically the majority of your conscious time during the day]) for a computer game is not a respectable, or positive thing. It's admirable in the case of players like Dragonseance, or My Kingz, who balance heavy loads of RS while maintaining social life's, jobs, and educations. A goal is a goal. If it's your goal, and you desire it badly enough ([read, enjoying it along the way]) then go for it, but try to do so without wasting years of your life by making it your single priority. what about if someone spent 16 hours a day building their own business from the ground up like many entrepreneurs do. Suddenly its hard working and respectful. To me I wouldve agreed with your post before but if grinding makes them happy its no different then making a business or something else considered worthwhile imo. Many an entrepreneur you that you might consider to be a vague role model sacrificed their life for a number of years for the pursuit of building an institution to satisfy their goal. Little different then grinding just a different focus.

We have RSC, why not RS2 [LD]?
Not that I was calling you old but everyone sort of remembers being a little kid and how awesome it was. Mix runescape in with those memories (or for some of us Ocarina of time or other such games) and it seems like the most awesome thing ever to have existed, even if it had its flaws. Basically a lot of us grew up out of runescape in addition to runescape going down hill, so its another element for us early adult players (im 20 years old) that started as a kid. Plus the players themselves have changed. In old runescape there was no flower game, no doubling money. The scams were different, but more generally the interaction was different.

200M in all Skills
I understand him saying that he cares less about xp gains now then before but unless his RL situation has changed he might as well finish up 2 months of skilling. Thieving especially is a skill ive seen average players get 200m xp in, its not quite cooking but its definitely not slayer. But then again it is his choice to continue at any rate that suites him

We have RSC, why not RS2 [LD]?
you werent a kid in old runescape and that makes the mix of the idyllic past with childhood (>12 years old) memories less powerful. Still with the rose tinted shades off, old runescape had its faults and even in 05 you had people saying "New Runescape sucks FU Jagex" but it sure as hell is better by comparison to now

200M in all Skills
I'm 16 and I have more than 10,000 hours invested in computer and gaming... between my <200 days on runescape. 150 days on wow. Countless hours playing console games and RTS games I probably have played everything total for longer then suomi has been on rs. + even longer if you include the days of hitting F5 on forum sites and social networking.
- So how does Jagex ban bots, anyway?
-
200M in all Skills
Wonder if SUOMI will try to be a minigame master after 200m in all skills or a super completionist

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
"Hey, look, a youtube video for a video game I like *click*" *'Let the bodies hit the floor' begins to play* idiots who complain that I don't put music on for that very reason. Commentary + background music works well.
