Noobody loves Noobs!
It comes with the territory when you're a giant crybaby. And if you're embarrased to be playing Runescape at your ripe old age of eight (judging by the maturity of your posts), then quit. Take control of your addictions and stop posting on Tip.It. Save us all.

Lol irony. Obviously you didn't get that life you're boasting about if you joined Tip.It after quitting (You joined a year and a half ago) runescape.- I HATE CONTRUCTION
Setting standards can be elitist, depending on what standards you set. As a local guy said, garbage is in the eye of the beholder. I disagree with some arguments on the rants forum, and others, and would consider some to be extremely stupid. For example in the "is homosexuality right or wrong thread" in OT, I personally think all the arguments that are just "The bible says" are stupid, but to others they are perfectly logical. Bad example. This isn't about who is right and who is wrong, it's about whether or not the OP made a discussion worthy thread, and complaining about something being broken when it's doing what it was intended for makes it a nonissue. Construction is supposed to be a huge money sink, and a huge money sink is what it is. Now if the thread was complaining about, say, the flatpack changes, I would understand.- Shouldn't users be allowed to remove posts on their threads
If people had this power, they would just whine and gripe and remove any posts that disagreed. No. There's a report function.- I HATE CONTRUCTION
The "If you don't like it, don't post in it" schpiel doesn't work, the stupidity still flows like wine. God forbid we have some sort of standard for Tip.It rants other than "baw I dun liek dat, iz baed". Facepunch is a Garry's Mod help site, run by Garry, maker of Garry's Mod (See the link?), but posting "should I buy Garrys Mod" will still get you permabanned. Alts immediately get permabanned just because of IP and cookie association. Also there are no permabans on Facepunch, everyone gets unbanned on Garry's birthday. Construction is a money sink, it's supposed to be very expensive. Ranting about something for doing what it was intended to is moot. Elitist? Nein. Setting standards.- JaGex gone emote happy?
Yea, because it's not at the bottom it's not honorable. "Nice untrimmed slayer skill cape! Sadly, your emote is not at the bottom of your list, so while I could normally honor it's honorability, the honorness is not honored anymore with my honoring your honorability." That's what you'll hear from now on, because the position of the emote on the list is totally essential to it being "honorable", and you're not just acting like a seven year old having a tantrum.- The price of gold ore!
You know someone with absolutely nothing intelligent to contribute would whine about an item being about 70gp less than they think it should be.- IMP FOR X - MAS w00t
Why are there so many non-issues being discussed on Rants currently? Someone must've broken the RSOF, it's leaking all over the place with it's shoddy standards for what constitutes an intelligent thread.- I HATE CONTRUCTION
Of course. Facepunch is one of the stricter forums, but the quality is relatively moderate. Here are some of the most common reasons for bans: "Dumb Thread" = Like this one, offers nothing. Permaban "Wrong section" = 7 day ban and thread is moved/deleted. "Troll" = Obvious troll posts. One offense can equal a permaban. "[wagon]" = Makes asinine posts like Google's URL to get someone to search. Also a first offense permaban "Banme" = Post serves nothing other than to get the post starter a ban. Permaban. "Posting in a banme" = Anyone who replies to an obvious banme thread. Instant, permaban. You can also get banned for several hours to several days at a time for the above, depending on who the moderator or admin is banning you. You can also get temp-banned for reposting an existing topic, complaining about mods (The forums are a democracy. Your choices are live with it or go away), predicting moderation (IE: In before lock/ban), and a whole host of other things that an admin may choose (IE: Not funny, image macro, missed ___ thread) But the idiot culls are the best. Last year, they culled over 200 people with a simple poll. The third option was "HURR COMEDY" (Gets you banned)", everyone who chose it got permabanned. They ban hundreds every year with this, just because it's necessary to get rid of the idiots. Tip.It needs a culling.- Holiday Season Tips
i dont think arhein is selling seaweed anymore.. or the charter ship people. just checked. As far as I know, Charter ships stopped selling seaweed.- I HATE CONTRUCTION
Joined so recently and yet, already contributing nothing. My counter rant: Tip.It needs to incorporate the "dumb thread" auto-ban from Something Awful, where a dumb thread is an instant permaban. Give me admin on Tip.It and the RSOF for one day, I could clean it up with a single idiot culling: "Don't post here or ban" with a permanent ban (with a ban on the IP for accounts created over the next week on that IP address) for anyone who posts. Easy, simple, effective. Other forums do it on a yearly basis to cull the numbers.- How many people knew this
I always get annoyed by the people who don't read the front page, but then beg everyone to give them an in-depth explanation, including charts and spreadsheets, on where the update is and exactly how they do it. I'm not referring to this thread, I'm referring to people who sit in Lumbridge all throughout the holiday events going "were u get dat emot?"- Runescape on Xbox Live/PS3 online?
Runescape doesn't resize below 800x600 (as far as I'm aware, it still doesn't), the PSP is 480x272, you would see half of the screen. The PSP also has 4mb of ram, would never run Runescape.- Advisor Ghrim and Flatpacks- BAILOUT FOR PPL WITH FLATPACKS
What scares the most about this is...Where is Advisor Grimm getting the money to buy the furniture? And where is this furniture going? Thoughts from around runescape: -Notice how they include wardrobes. Wardrobes hold clothes. Do you know what else holds things? Docks. Docks hold boats, and boats means sailing. Sailing is the next skill, if you can't see the connection then you're an ignorant 5 year old.- Should the logout timer be removed?
Other games don't have drop-on-death features that Runescape has. Remove the 3-item rule and make every item degrade like other MMO's and you'll be able to better compare the systems put in place to protect you from death.- Consistency in combat
I understand the random number generator, I said that it needs to be changed. Read post plx- Summoning(CHARMS)
I'm going to assume you can't read, since his highscores are directly underneath his post. And yes, he joined after the wilderness update. Because nobody who joined before December 07 EVER complained about having to do work. Must mean you joined after the updates as well, looking at your other thread.- Should the logout timer be removed?
The timer's fine. The only change I would make is perhaps just a tad longer. (2 minutes?) Why? The rules are against being away from the keyboard. So you hit the log out button when you go to feed the dog. I usually get logged out because I'm falling asleep while leveling a boring skill (fishing, woodcutting). I'd like to see the timer not log you out while you're engaging in an activity, with the timer activating when there's no response from the client (IE: Disconnection). This would keep the asleep-at-the-wheel people from being logged out, while at the same time protecting those who lose connection.- srry about that guys
i hit / and type i banged diff girls in 5 diff states [borat] Very nice, high five! [/borat]- ~Creative Insults~
Why is it that most "look at this idiot" rants end up making the OP look just as bad, if not worse? Also: If you lump uncreative insults together, you get one long somewhat creative insult. See my signature.- Thought Of Trade Limit Taken off at Christmas?
I purposely didn't mention "for Christmas". They're not going to remove it ever, and that includes Christmas The bit about common sense was there is no discussion value in this, whatsoever. If we all know it's never going to happen, never, ever, for the rest of forever, then there's no point speculating about whether they'll do it, is there? You know you've struck the lair of Captain Obvious when you can get practically every response agreeing with one another. /thread.- Thought Of Trade Limit Taken off at Christmas?
There hasn't been discussion value in removing the trade limit since about January 2008, and that's being generous. All that would do is invite massive drop trading, real world trading, begging, and scamming so 1% of the population can give their friend a whip. I gave a friend 20k worth of cooked shark and a garden pie so he could finish Fairy Tale. He gave me a keg of matured greenman's ale so I can do While Guthix Sleeps faster (Greenman's Ale (m) is extremely difficult to buy). There are ways to give gifts without incurring huge charges. Find something practical that isn't an expensive weapon or piece of armor And you're six light years away from common sense because of how absolutely moot the point is, wondering if Jagex will remove the trade limit ever.- 18th December 2008 - Security Reminder
