  1. ITT: Jagex releases a newbie quest. Crybabies whine because it's not of Dragon Slayer caliber, and gives newbie rewards (What a surprise!)
  2. Then again, Bob and Ali are much more common names than "Xenia."
  3. You really have no clue why they removed the old wilderness, don't you?
  4. You could be onto something here, I remember when Jagex were releasing POH, they said we'd all have POS (Player Owned Shops), I think it's still in their news archive as well. I think they said at some point that POS eventually became the exchange. pos+the already existing ge would be pointless No they didn't. In fact, after the Grand Exchange came out they said that they were still looking at Player Owned Shops in some fashion, but that they were impossible under the (at the time) current engine.

Yea, because with around one hundred thousand people playing at any given time, it's inconceivable that .05% of them are solo'ing.
  6. Omali replied to jij29's topic in General Discussion
    Fixed.
  7. The new skill is Horatio. It will be a social skill that requires a lot of foresight and pop culture knowledge. At level one you receive the pair of shades. The higher you level, the more poignant your puns become (At level 10 you learn what poignant means). Example: Player 1: OMG, my wife just pk'ed me by accident. We were recording her hitting me with her whip and she didn't stop when I got low on HP. Player 2: You should yell at her. Player 1: I can't do that, she's my wife. Player 3: Looks like your avatar Isn't the only thing whipped http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjRG2530rwI

Have you read any of the earlier posts. I already explained more than once now that it was put in to stop bots, not for realism. Hurr durr irony.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you post can and will be used against you by Omali. You have the right to a moderater. If you cannot afford a moderater, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you? ;) That's a trick statement. No one can afford the Tip.It moderators, not even Bill Gates.

I like this idea. It ensures that the monster won't be camped to oblivion, like some other slayer monsters, so people who are actually there to train can do just that, train. More monsters need to be set like this, then the price of slayer loot won't go down so fast after release.
  12. And never post in the Rants section anymore man. Every OP will get trashed.(see previous 15 replies) You know, Langer's been here since 2004, and those of us who've been here a long time have an odd sense when something really doesn't sound right, like when my suspicions that Blood_Argon was a real world trader were bashed as slander, but were ultimately true. I thought I smelled something off as well, so SUPER SLEUTH MODE ACTIVATE! Kickler, you've got some splaining to do. Looks like the OP... Likes to trade accounts. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Extra lulz if you noticed in the first image, Kicler123 is noted January 08 with the account sale, then underneath he talks about how his account was stolen in June 08.
  13. no, it isn't. But as far as detection, I'm speculating that it would be near impossible for them to log anything other than time in between bumps. And if they did log something other than time in between bumps (for instance, mouse locations or processes running), it would be a gross invasion of privacy, and getting banned would/should be the least of my concerns. If you set it to auto-bump every 10 minutes on the dot, that's all they would need to know to get you for macroing.
  14. Part of your routine when you first log in should be to plant new herb seeds. Those that grow, you can sell the herbs (or make potions out of them). It doesn't take too long, and will end up being a simple part of each day that ends up being a very profitable twenty minutes or so.
  15. Good thing you're not a brain surgeon, then. Most of Mechscape's is now Stellar Dawn, and is still being released.
  16. I think you may be better off asking Jagex on this one. I don't think you'll find anyone here on Tip.It who knows the rules that far in-depth to know if auto-bumping your threads would be banworthy. The reason I say that is because, just remember that if they do somehow detect it (for example, seeing that your thread is bumped every 10 minutes on the spot. not saying they look for it), then "macroing" gets you perma-banned, no exceptions and no appeals nowadays. And is it really worth the risk?

I always feel a sinking pit in my stomach when I die and lose whatever I'm wearing. It doesn't come often, but when it does it's a real morale killer. You get that period where you're not sure if you want to continue playing, especially if you lost much of your money.

If you don't agree, don't post in your thread? Get your own forum and be super-kewl admin guy if you don't want anyone to post disagreement with you. The rants forum isn't for you to make some half-assed complaint and have everyone come to your aid and tell you what a good boy you are. Uf you can't handle criticism on the internet, you severely need to grow up, and then allow my constituents to offer you some sound advice:

In my defense I would have been much warmer if the OP hadn't pulled out the "realism" card. The realism card is always followed by something that has nothing to do with realism Granted, I still wouldn't support, and it's still lazy on the part of the OP, but my answer would have simply been, don't be lazy, and the mechanic is there to hinder bots.
  20. Omali replied to polo2340's topic in Rants
Sure, less likely - But it must be more profitable overall to run 4-5 bots on one pc 24/7, with the risk of a one or two getting banned, than to pay a worker to run 1 account on a pc for 12 hours a day. Maybe I should draw them up a business plan ;) Work in China is amazingly cheap, so cheap that hiring people is less costly in manufacturing plants than having machines do the job.

I agree. You'd think this game was set in a fantasy land or something. I've seen stone golems in real life, and they do NOT have that kind of hunch when they walk. No...It's not mysterious at all. It's part of the anti-bot mechanics. Sacrificing the realism of the game because you don't want to click on doors. Oh, I see. Ooh, let me make a conclusion out of an irrelevant proposition! Jagex is clearly supporting the communist movement because combining a banana and Karajama Rum makes the bottle useless! Srsly, Rushins. Exactly, what are Jagex, stupid? Who ever heard of manually closing and opening doors? IT'S JUST NOT REALISTIC. Why in my world, doors open automatically for me, and the floor moves, and when I start my four hour per day job hitting a button making sprockets, I get woken up halfway through by Mr. Spacely. I'm a busy Runescape man, I can't have these "doors" blocking my way. Who do these doors think they are anyway? Forcing me to move my hand and waste .0000000000000000000000000000001 seconds of my time I could be spending making rants about some other non-issue. You have to think REALISM Jagex, when I walk towards doors in real life, they open and close with no problems, why can't you do that in game? Realism! If I keep saying realism, maybe I'll make a point somewhere. Oh and Jagex, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDA4lcw8k1g&feature=related
  22. It's times like this that my signature comes in handy.
  23. Well standard and HD mode are [bleep]ed. For anyone who can log in, you're going to end up in safe mode, with "you can't enter this mode" for standard and HD.
  24. More importantly, the old world select page is back!
  25. Boy, you best be trollin. The new skill is sailing.
