Modern Warfare 2: Because if you're dumb enough to pay 15 bucks for a couple of maps, you deserve what you get.

Some people... (Dungeoneering)
That's called a disincentive. Jagex wants you to see the dungeon to completion, so they add a penalty for leaving early. I hate it now, but once they fix the system so soloers can get back into their dungeons if they crash (as java has done for me quite a bit, only in the dungeons), then I'll be fine with it.

Good. It's about time that the guilds were updated to include more than just a relatively useless item you can't buy anywhere else + maybe one activity.

Tip: Don't make fun of the newb the next time you pass by Falador and someone calls you a haxxor and wants to know where you got those robes that make you invisible, because it might be a Jmod's alt thinking he caught a hacker.

too many appeals.
From my understanding, the idea is that let's say you get muted once, and you appeal it. Okay, we all make mistakes at one point or another, slipups, whatever you want to call it, have bad days, etc. Two times? Well, okay, I guess it happens, but you should have a better understanding of the rule by now. Then eventually, happenstance loses its viability. What I'm trying to say is at one point, even though offenses expire, you get blackmarks for rules that you've been in trouble with enough, and Jagex doesn't let you appeal them because you should know by then how to not break said rule. Every time you break the rule, Jagex gives you less leniency in appealing it. Your totaled offenses might not lead to a permanent mute, but it's safe to say by now that you didn't break the rule unintentionally. And judging by your post, coupled with your previous perma-mute, coupled with your apparent enjoyment of Jägerbombs, I get the feeling you have a habit of getting into arguments with people.

28-April-10 Buyers and Cellars (and Thieves Guild)
If you get the code for the item just by buying the ticket, I would honestly consider buying the ticket just for the item. So if that's the case, and anyone wants to go but doesn't care about the item, I'll sell you my ticket for half price.

tl;dr of future updates: 1. Improved grouping system. 2. Doubling the number of boss monsters 3. More encounters available. 4. Revamping the first four hours of gameplay to be more dynamic. 5. Working on removing some of the grind aspects, especially early on.

Partial Requirement Listing for Achieve Diary
You need 30 farming to complete the quest Enlightened Journey. And if you think that's tough, reading the quest requirements, just wait until you try the harrowing act of boiling water, putting it into a pot, and waiting until the noodles are tender before you eat it. "OMG RAMEN SUX, the noodels r hard as rok n da soup iz hot, burnd mouf. It sez 'instent' wut a scam" Also: This Tip.It/Jagex deal is getting confusing. When did I log into the RSOF? Heh, gotta tell ya, that made me laugh. And i do feel a little stupid for that rant. I persevered and got my varrock armor two, so I'm a little calmer now. But I can't argue with your point. I will be a little more thorough on reading into things. Well I am here to entertain and inform. And rushing through without reading happens to the best of us. I'm runecrafting for levels, and cash to fund 70 prayer, and when I started I ran off to the abyss first without my pouches, then without anything to help in the abyss, then forgetting I had my hatchet on me when I couldn't get into the law alter, and finally I have a habit of forgetting to replace my glory on its last charge. My runescape character would lose his head if it wasn't part of a seamless model texture.

Dungeoeneering
Yea, coop with people you don't know rarely works out in online games, and we're talking every game across the board.

Runescape fails at skills
I had a dream that one day ten year old white kids wouldn't knock off one of the greatest civil rights speeches, in order to talk about forums or a video game.

Runescape fails at skills
Actually virtually all of your points were bad, but that's been pointed out at least ten times already. As for members skills: 1. Slayer is a huge money maker. 2. Farming is a great money maker, as you pointed out. 3. Hunter is a huge money maker with Chinchompa and salamanders 4. Theiving is a money maker, as you said 5. Herblore is huge cash, especially when coupled with farming 6. Fletching makes money, even more when you enchant what you fletch Construction is a money sink, and summoning is a lesser money sink. I left out agility because it is cash-neutral. Nothing in, nothing out. Either way you have 6 of 9 members only skills that are money makers. But going off of what you said about most money making skills being f2p, I'll look at those too because you'll find that for all of the free to play skills, the real money only comes from members benefits/areas/monsters. Attack/Strength/Defense/Range/Mage: Sure you can make some cash through combat in f2p, but it isn't much. All the cash from decent upward comes from members only creatures. Runecrafting: You have to have pretty high levels on Runecrafting in f2p to get decent cash from Runecrafting, but with the abyss and death/law/blood runes, even at 55 runecrafting, you're looking at 8k-13k per trip, depending on how many bags you have. Runecrafting becomes even more profitable with a beast of burden. Crafting: Aside from low level leather items, Crafting offers [bleep] to free players, aside from selling materials to members. Mining: This is one of the few skills where members don't get many benefits until higher levels. Free players have a lot of competition for spots with less ore, but ultimately once you get a rune pickaxe selling iron ore can be quite a money machine for free players. Members, on the other hand, have the benefit of multiple rune ore spots, more adamant spots, and the coal mine. Smithing: The real benefit for members here is speed: Location and agility bonus. Fishing: The only real sellable fish free players have are lobster and swordfish, and now that that the bank-certificate NPC is on the island, I think you'll see prices stay steady, if not go down a bit with a lot more of it being fished. In fact, swordfish have been at a 1.8% rise over the past 30 days, but went down very slightly so far today. Lobster is staying still. Monkfish alone (faster than shark) blows any fish f2p has out of the water, and that's before cavefish, rocktail, shark, turtles, and rays. Cooking: See Fishing. Aside from the cookable fish, you also have the pies that can be huge money makers. Woodcutting Woodcutting is a good skill for free players. Dungeoneering, Prayer, and Firemaking don't make money for free players at all.

In general
All MMOs have this delay. That's the end result of having a few thousand people connected to one server at the same time. Wold you bet money on that? I didn't include twitch based (Planetside, Mortal Online, Darkfall, WWII Online) because they have similar systems in place to counter-act lag while allowing for uninterrupted-combat, but yes, this is how auto-targeting MMOs counter-act lag. But feel free to prove me wrong, as you apparently can.

In general
I did this a few times several years ago, quit for a few months to avoid boredom becoming hatred. It really works well if you do it for a month or two, and then come back to check out the new stuff. The reason I kept coming back was the diversity in the skills, as well as how interlocked they were. More importantly, you weren't limited to two or three skills. In the long run, Jagex are looking to upgrade the Grand Exchange in a way that will allow them to remove most price caps and price floors, but they are going to have to work on stopping price manipulation in the Grand Exchange before the subject of removing caps can be discussed. This not many people know. It was explained by Paul Gower quite a number of years back (It was around 2005 after Slayer released and players were complaining about bank space for slayer items), but I'll sum it up for you in a non-technical term. Every space in your bank account is accounted for by an object. When there is nothing in that slot, it is filled by an item called "null," which some players will know is (when appearing in the game world) represented by a giant dwarf head. In your bank account, you cannot see it, and you cannot click on it, but if you search "null" in your bank search, you will return as many results as you have empty spaces. This is simply due to the nature of the coding and cannot be changed. Because every slot is represented, every slot takes up space on your account file. Each space takes up a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny fraction of a byte, but expand that to 400+ bank spaces, and multiply it by over 136 million accounts, and you have an enormous amount of memory taken up. In the same post, Paul said that every time Jagex wants to add more bank space, they must perform an engine upgrade to allow individual "account files" to increase their maximum space and allow for the new bank spaces. Runescape's backend servers have a failsafe where, if a file goes over the maximum space allotted, the failsafe may delete it. This is why you only see bank upgrades for big events (new skills, mainly). Your house is big enough that it is kept on its own file, on another server entirely, which is why you need to sit through a loading screen while the server fetches your house, and why if you exit and then immediately reenter your house, the load time is much shorter. Runescape is a skill based game, which means every individual skill is its own long grind (think UO, Darkfall, Mortal Online, etc) rather than a few trade skills and an overall level meter. Runescape is in the higher end of the grind, but not nearly as high as others. In games like Ultima Online, Mortal Online, and Darkfall you have skills for everything. Knives, maces, short swords, long swords, daggers, long bows, short bows, staffs, leather armor, light armor, heavy armor, metal armor, they are all their own skills with their own levels with their own grind. I understand your dismay, but it does come with the territory. Runescape has always had a unique, charming presentation to it. It looked good back in classic, and it looks good now. I think Runescape is somewhat on its own level, but in a good way. It's like...Seeing someone who is neither ugly, nor pretty, but they aren't in between either. If asked, you find yourself at a loss for words to describe them, whether it be a compliment or a bad trait. They almost seem to just...exist, and you may find yourself strangely attracted to them for reasons you can't explain. Runescape is very quest and storyline oriented. The rest of the game is all multiplayer, but as far as the quest system works you may as well be playing a single player game with occasional coop (Heroes/Champions). Players do quite a bit to change the world, but it only affects that player. But you do change a lot, and the world evolves quite a bit from when you start out to when you get that quest cape, and it evolves more. Cities open up, important people die, and more. The only MMO I know of that has an ongoing storyline was The Matrix Online, that allowed players to partake in live events, run by sever administrators. In one event, players worked to either help or stop Morpheus from setting up data bombs all over the Matrix. In the end, Morpheus was assassinated, live, and the next set of the story began. Jagex's only system that follows The Matrix Online, where the game's story leaves you behind if you weren't there to play it, is with the Mysterious Old Man, and he updates his story about once every three years. Jagex could not do this with Runescape at large because there are not a lot of quests, and the game hinges on their lore. World of Warcraft can put in big updates that destroy cities and remove quests, but Jagex cannot do that. You've never needed 60 range to use Dragon Claws. As for the second bit...What? Are we playing the same Runescape? No. Just...no. K. All MMOs have this delay. That's the end result of having a few thousand people connected to one server at the same time. Your opinion still stands...on extremely shaky grounds.

24-Apr-2010 - Jagex Presents... RuneFest 2010
I'm going to take Geoff Iddison with me . Just kidding. I'd take MHL with me as a date but her lawyers preemptively called me to remind me that my restraining order is still in effect past the event.

Should Jagex make a rule that forbids price manipulation aka "Merchant clans"?
You're the first person other than my Grandfather, who died ten years ago, I've ever seen use "kvetching" . Grandparents were Croatian.

Retirement
Their opinions can be superior to yours with regards to past events/issues in RS which are not news. Unlikely. I've seen plenty of rants on Tip.It over the years of people who talk about how much better the old days were, and they have no idea what they're talking about even though they played at the time, but are instead looking back with rose tinted glasses.
