Best names you've seen on runescape?
I'm Mtomali. All names are rare, this thread should be renamed "Post some names that you like/are common words/phrases"

Behind the Scenes - July
Yes, actually. Though I only see one update they can screw up. That being TT, either they create a false hype, and the items aren't that great, or they create a glitch that gives you infinite items or something. Which they won't roll back and the few will be able to keep their "only hundreds" of items.

Gf 3rd Age
You'll have to excuse me if I don't trust the financial advice of someone who joined four days ago. Looks like the OP is looking to snag some cheap 3rd age. Shouldn't this be locked for price manipulation?

Login Server Offline?
A portion of Runescape's login servers might be down. I'm still logged in, as are the whole of my server's monkfishing area.

I Don't Like Jagex

No money for expensive skills
You don't need to keep showing us that you're about ten, it was evident back in March when you made the thread.

Dragon Defender confirmed.
I just want Jagex to make sure you need a rune defender to get the dragon. continue the progression.

PMod Corruption Much?
I hate Tip.It's platinum status. It reminds me of a time when administrators here had a spine and were willing to criticize Jagex for their counter-productive policies. Nothing personal, Cowman, I understand your position, it just pisses me off that Jagex is treating fan sites exactly as they have treated their community, which is the same way I see Apple talking to its customers, which is the same way I see civil servants talking to the [developmentally delayed]ed, like they always know what is best for us, and we're so absolutely stupid that if it weren't for Jagex we'd be in danger of swallowing our own tongues, or choking to death while chopping wood. Jagex is the adult who feels the need to blend all of our food, put little cushions on the sharp edges of the table, and make us wear a helmet and arm/knee pads when we're walking around outside so we don't hurt ourselves, and despite our lament that we have never fallen to require said helmet or pads, they insist that we wear them or receive a ban, because they love us and it's for our own good. Oh and we're shackled to the bed so we don't fall out when we sleep, and the internet is blocked out altogether because it's a bad place filled with pedophiles and gay porn. I've always said that Tip.It will never reach gold status as long as I am still here, because I am one of Jagex's strongest critics where it really matters. I have no tolerance for the fact that Jagex has, and continues, to treat their community like absolute [cabbage]. They are unapologetic in their hypocrisy, and almost always have absolutely no idea how to approach or communicate with their community. How many times has a Jagex Mod posted on Tip.It? Here are the highlights: Andrew Gower publicly threatening to sue Tip.It after an article questioning their banning practices, and the Jmod who joined to whine because players saw the double standards in Jagex's fan site relation requirements, and that Jagex was continuing their mafia style approach to dealing with the community, where they're not saying that they disapprove of whatever the action is, but if you do it you might just find your knees broken with a baseball bat. I said in another thread that the presence and mechanics of High-Alchemy are a great indicator that Jagex does not, and never will, understand economics. I will extend that and point out that Andrew Gower's open threat to Tip.It was a major clue that Jagex is unable to properly respond to criticism. There are players here who respond to criticism by flaming. Jagex, on the other hand, is like the kid who responds to your rebuttal with "Yea, well, you're a gay." Their player addresses rarely address the point, but generally end up condescending to the community and the people who made the complaint in the first place. They're like the people who get in trouble for saying/posting something racist, and then they turn around and instead of apologizing they say the equivalent of "I'm sorry you morons misread what I said as racist." /rant

PMod Corruption Much?
The idea that player mods are "just players with priority access to Jagex who can enact the rules on who they want, when they want" is a stupid idea and should be done away with. Runescape is the only MMO I've ever seen that allows player moderators to enforce the rules on a "when they feel like it" basis, and in any other game with a decently run moderator system players have their titles stripped away if they aren't going to use it for its intended purpose. If you don't want to enforce the rules, you shouldn't be a player moderator, and there should be an extra option to report player moderators for not enforcing the rules, or showing favoritism. It should be a lot easier for players to notify Jagex of Pmod abuse.

Will Jagex reply on Monday?
Well Monday has come and gone, and since no one posted an RSOF link, I'm guess Jagex didn't say anything.

Seriously, Jagex?
Apparently no one has wanted my account that much, because it's been safe for over seven years. Well at least now we know why you're acting like five year old. You got your account stolen and now you feel the need to defend others as if they are completely blameless in the situation. If you can hack someone's account with just their username, send me a PM. I've got an account called Zezima I need to steal and sell online. Actually, hack my account. The username is mtomali. Consider it an appraisal. I want to log in tomorrow and find myself two feet directly west of the second bank teller in Falador holding flowers and wearing a cape but nothing else. You see, this is the part where you're wrong. Jagex doesn't just hand out accounts unless the person has the details that you allowed them to get ahold of. There's more to your story as there is with any "my account was stolen" thread. Everyone wants to think that their MMO doesn't care about stolen accounts, but it's because of idiots like the OP that people who lose accounts for more out-of-their-hands reasons have to sit in customer support limbo. Oh look, the troll who just joined yesterday is telling me to get out. That's adorable. I can smell your incoming ban for flaming from a mile away. I wonder how many alts Gaga is going to register just to try to find someone to back him up? I've counted at three accounts total (Gaga, PI_Mike, and StolenDream), all of whom just happened to register for this thread. I hope you're not talking about legal action against Jagex because, if you are, you should be aware that you have no ownership over your account, whatsoever.

- Seriously, Jagex?
Yes, get over yourself. Get over yourself because you think I'm trying to be a "hard ass or something" with my post, like some pompous little crybaby who thinks that rants should be replied to with nothing but pats on the back and good wishes. Hold on, I've got an incoming call on this Iphone I stole off of some girl's desk. I of course, kid. I don't steal because, unlike a lot of people, I actually have morals that I stick to no matter what, not just when they're convenient for me. Those values include a sense of self-responsibility, something the OP has none of. Instead, they blame Jagex and threaten the person who stole the account in a forum where the person will never see it, with legal action that neither the OP nor his crappy private investigator will likely ever see go to court, let alone win with a complete lack of evidence (Here's a legal tip: If your evidence amounts to IP addresses, don't bother. If the RIAA has taught us anything it is that IP addresses are not valid evidence in court.) If I got something stolen because of my own stupidity, I wouldn't expect any sympathy. Theft is never justified, but was your ex acting stupidly by leaving it unattended on her desk? Absolutely. In my spare time, I'm a very staunch advocate for consumer and employee rights, and I've spent a lot of my time campaigning to raise awareness that not everyone who is a victim of identity theft fits into this growing stereotype of some idiot who hands out his social security number to the first Nigerian prince who contacts him, but many are the victims of fraud that is, in fact, out of their control. With all the identity theft that goes on due to unprotected corporate databases, local and state governments losing their laptops that contain information, ATM skimmers, security breaches at huge databases, and more, it pisses me off when I hear about people losing their information in easily avoidable circumstances, and even more so when the person refuses to accept any responsibility for their information being stolen in the first place. When someone has the exact same information as you do, yes it's practically impossible for Jagex to figure out who is the real account holder. What happened in this case was the OP found someone trying to break into his house. After calling the police, he proceeded to give the thief an exact copy of the keys, a deed to the house (under the thief's name), the garage-door opener, and the infinite love of his protective dog. Now when the police show up, they find two men claiming to own the house, both carrying deeds in their names and house keys, and the dog recognizes both as its owner. Now that the house owner has effectively rendered himself equal to the thief, they both blame the police for not knowing who is the real owner.- Seriously, Jagex?
I got a key logger earlier this year when there was a gaping security hole discovered in Java that allowed a drive-by download using a hijacked advertisement or website. (I did an article about it on my website: http://mmofallout.com/2010/04/16/virus-alert-update-java-now/). My response: 1. Run virus cleaner, delete every trace of the virus and associated key logger. 2. Delete my cookies, cached files, and temporary files. 3. Run CCleaner 4. Change my passwords. Common sense should tell you to REMOVE THE KEY LOGGER before you enter the sensitive information to get your account back. OP didn't just make one stupid decision, he made a long series of stupid decisions, and is paying for it now. Get over yourself. The rest of us don't have to worry about losing our accounts because we don't fall into the same traps other people do. I have never had a single account on any service stolen, ever. Geez, tough crowd. Looks like I'll have to... Get serious. YYYYYYEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH I don't know why you hate me, when in fact I'm your biggest fan. I'll follow you until you love me.- Seriously, Jagex?
I had to call bull here. Jagex will never discuss account issues with anyone other than the person they believe to be the original account holder, ever. Good luck with getting your account back that you lost because of your own stupidity. Until then, I guess... Your only choice is to Just dance, gonna be okay, da da doo-doo-mmm Just dance, spin that record babe, da da doo-doo-mmm Just dance, gonna be okay, d-d-d-dance Dance, dance, just, j-j-just dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knnwIMXuj1U- Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
That poll only proved how many people in Runescape are whiny crybabies. Jagex made the mistake of putting up the poll a few days after release, after a couple days of server issues (farming caused some major lag on the servers in the first couple days). By the time Jagex put up their poll, the most experience most of the people who voted "no" had was: *Plant potato* "Wtf, dis taeks longur den ten sekinds? [bleep] DAT" I was part of the group back when Farming was released that petitioned Jagex to remove the poll in the first place, and it doesn't show how "out of touch" Jagex is, as all of the skills released after Runecrafting had received the same exact initial response. Slayer: OMG dis isn't a skill, iz combat wif exp. Hunter: Itz a mini-game wtf no useful rewards Construction: Not a skill, iz house building minigaem Summoning: Omg skill level 4 followurs? NOOB Dungeoneering: not a skill, iz activity. Trying to sound like the intellectual superior loses its face value when you follow it up by showing you have the insight of a five year old.- Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
As long as High Alchemy is still a spell in Runescape, don't expect Jagex to know jack-[cabbage] about economics. In all other MMOs, you are required to either sell to a vendor for a low price or actually make something that people want to buy, rather than press a button that dispenses cash and experience.- Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
Dear Timmmmm83, There are specific ways to woo me, but if you're going to play to my fetish of debating, please make sure that I actually said what you're calling me out on. Nowhere in this thread, or anywhere else on the internet, have I even discussed the boot update today, let alone what the street price was before the update. With Love, Omali P.S: It still worked... P.P.S: I hope you like sushi, because that's where we're going on our first date.- Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
The cake as a lie, is itself a lie. You're about three years too late to go this heavy on Portal references Jagex...- Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
Ninja'd. Can't wait to try this quest, although I wish Jagex would finish up some of their other series as fast as they start/stop these.- What have I missed?
Wow didn't hold my attention, and I enjoy Runescape far more. Also, any point he might have made was overshadowed by: That just makes him look like a little crybaby flailing on his back in the Kmart parking lot because he didn't get the new toy he wanted and mommy and daddy are the meanest parents in the world.- What have I missed?
Why do you still post on a Runescape fansite if you're going to tell people not to play it and act like a crybaby all the time?- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Engine update? Can only mean one thing: SAILING! - Seriously, Jagex?
