  1. Wrong, Jagex's subscriber number has been growing on a year by year basis and continues to grow. Get over yourself.
  2. I guess it's a good thing the rest of us graduated first grade math.
  3. so you have to drink a pot therefor it's not in a row. jesus can Jagex release a single update without idiots crying that pvp is broken again? Well PvP is Runescape's nursery-oh no he didn't-oh yes he did.
  4. Wait, is that 10% of the total cost (50%-45%) or 10% of the total bar (50%-40%)? Because if it is the latter: Say hello to six dragon dagger specs on one bar.
  5. Ban people who express dissatisfaction towards the product? What a moronic idea. As if apologists couldn't already get any more excessive around here. Expression frustration is hardly trolling, often when said frustrations are justified. You feel embarrassed for Tip.it? I feel embarrassed for Tip.it too--but for different reasons. Ever since Andrew threatened legal action against Tip.it and the subsequent take down of a particular article, this place lost its collective [cabbage] and ever since nothing that Jagex done can be ever examined critically otherwise one must fear the wrath of the apologists. And now we are at a stage where people are advocating others be banned for their opinions. How wonderful? Mind you there are still a lot intelligent and articulate people here but they are often overshadowed by apologists like you. You're adorable. But your strawmen arguments aside, there are plenty of people here who know exactly the kind of folk I'm talking about when I refer to trolls, and your teen angst on "omfg Omali iz a NAZI Jagsplax apalgist!" you've clearly never read the articles on my website regarding Jagex and some of their policies. I've regularly knocked Jagex for their embarrassing advertisement in India (showing the girl with the enormous breasts from the Poison Arrow update), how Jagex is too soft on their rule breakers, and implying that the new castle wars highest tier armor was made by a sadist who wishes to regress MMOs back into the old stereotype of no-life nerds. I've also used Andrew Gower's threat against Tip.It as an example of the company's true side, and have posted often on TIF about how Jagex is pretty much the only MMO developer to punish their players for creating fansites, and how it wasn't too long ago that they were dishing out permanent bans for mentioning "google." You obviously don't pay attention to my posts on these forums, I'm a lot more unbiased than you think. And yes, whining about a couple days of delay is engaging in a sob fest. I'm aware that Jagex expects Tip.It to sell its soul for platinum status, so any comment of mine made towards such status should be considered highly sarcastic towards Tip.It.
  6. Definitely Ivy. You can AFK it, which is perfect if you'd like to watch television or browse forums while grinding exp.
  7. Ye it's like they aknowledge they were wrong but they still gave you a ban because they couldn't just unban you, that would be something jagex doesn't do :P Jagex? Admitting mistakes? Does not compute...
  8. If I understood previous update commentsd correctly, they're working in D2.0 to make things cheaper to re-obtain if you've already bought them.
  9. That's pretty ironic that you point out "strawman arguments" and then make one yourself. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you didn't understand my original intention To clarify: My main point (and suggestion) is just for Jagex to not to set up any expectations they can't for sure make. I never said Jagex has an obligation to release on Mon/Tues of a update week. In fact, I discourage them from doing so because it seems like they often aren't prepared on Mon/Tues. They should just be very explicit when they plan to release things, and instead of leaving us in the dark, give us an exact date so we can plan around it. TT update was a promise they de facto made Sidenote: Sys update in 2min o_o Software developers will never make exact date update promises, because they will always be seeking out bugs, and often times last second bugs will cause delays. World of Warcraft has one of the largest staff of any MMO, and they still have patches that bring down servers for hours at a time because of last second issues. I had my server go down for 24 hours because of an issue that only affected a number of servers due to a patch, that wasn't seen in either the public test nor the internal QA. For another example, look at Final Fantasy XIV, which was delayed six months on the PS3 just a month or so before the game was set to go live, and that six months isn't even a guarantee it will launch in March. Mobilising Armies should have been the end-all beat all for Runescapers that delays happen, and occasionally big delays happen. I mean, Mobilising Armies was terrible, but that's a discussion for another thread.
  10. My bad, I'm strung out on hydrocodone thanks to four missing wisdom teeth, so me brain not worky so well. Either way, I get embarrassed for Tip.It every week when i see this same discussion go on with the same exact people firing off the same exact crap. Jagex adds more to their game than most other MMOs, even if you were to take the other title's less frequent patches and put them side to side with how much Jagex updates in the same period of time. I deal with a lot of different communities while working on my website, and Runescape is definitely the worst when it comes to updates, and I partially blame this on Jagex setting players up to expect beginning-of-the-week weekly updates. It's like training a dog to expect a treat whenever a bell is rung, and quite frankly many of the more vocal Scapers aren't much more thoughtful than your average Chihuahua, and twice as yappy. The sad part is that the Warhammer Online community was a lot more accommodating for a billing error that charged players in excess of $500-$1,000 in $15 increments than the Runescape community is when an update doesn't come out at their convenience or is, god forbid, delayed. I find the idea of banning someone here because of "troll[-ing] Jagex" pretty amusing Especially when constructive criticism has been offered Strawman arguments don't count as constructive criticism. All I've seen you arguing in this thread is that Jagex has some kind of obligation to put updates out on certain days because that is what players expect, and somehow going against promises they never made will make players lose trust. At the end of the day, as you like to keep saying, Jagex doesn't have to do squat but put the updates out in a timely manner, with as few bugs as possible. No one is going to quit because an update was a few days late, and for the single digit number who do, as one unnamed developer put it: "The company will not miss you or your __ dollars a month."
  11. I'd like it to end in the same way Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, where Andrew Gower and Mark Gerhard use the massive profits from Runescape to fly to all the troll's houses and start beating the crap out of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjWFZPJZTxU
  12. I figure Tip.It will never make gold status until we can get through a week without having a gigantic sob fest about an update being a few days late, and until TIF starts banning some of the people who are here simply to troll Jagex.
  13. How is not Jagex's fault for hyping up updates through various means only to people at the last possible moment after they have waited that, "Sorry, not today folks". Seems to me like they are real saddos because how hard could a message a couple ago be? And if you actually read, people did not refresh the page all day. In Northern America, it is NOT 3 PM like it is in the UK, well in some parts anyways. It is usually early morning when the updates come. So people staying up a bit, and checking at this time is completely sensible, it isn't a lack of a common sense. As usual, Jagex apologists appear, apologizing for a [cabbage] business model of procrastination. This isn't about kids moaning or (though some probably did). This is about honesty and consistency. If you need more time, be honest, don't [bleep]ing hype it up, pretend everything is going find and then around the last hour or so, come and tell us that it isn't ready--tell us before. The drama level in this thread just shot through the roof.
  14. That's because the stereotype that Runescape is populated by kids and kidults (adults with the mentality of children) is mainly true for a large portion of those who visit the RSOF and fansites like Tip.It.
  15. The image spelled "time" wrong. Also: posting in a troll thread. Only made funnier by the knowledge that Tip.It does nothing against blatant trolls like un4given.
  16. It's okay, you'll have plenty of time when the update comes out to cry about how the update sux and jagex sux and the game sux and you hate jagex and their faces are stupid and their faces sux and their kids are probably embarrassed because their parents sux and so do their games and faces.
  17. Someone's tasting sour grapes about not going to Runefest.
  18. Runescape has far more players than Maplestory.
  19. Crappy shopjob is crappy. "OMG Dat jagfalx! I changed da mod's messeg to sai dat saling wuz comin out today n it dint, dose liers!!1111""
  20. It's a well known fact that 60% of the time, RS vent servers fail all of the time. All it takes is one high pitched "HEY GUISE HOW D'YOU MINE GOLD IS THAT A GODSWORD? OH-EM-GEE YOU'RE SO COOL! ELL-OH-ELL!" and everyone's killed themselves.
  21. It didn't start draining my prayer until it was at low health, so it is likely that it drains your prayer earlier if you are actively using it.
  22. Better weapons = quicker kills Better armor = less hits = less food consumed. Higher risk makes higher reward, and in the long run can save you money on food/potions. Granted, if you see someone using trimmed rune armor, they're just doing it to show off.
  23. Wait, Omali.. still.. plays.. Runescape? I must express my sentiments. [hide][/hide] Unspam: I realized after the black knight fully drained my prayer that he healed whenever I activated it. I escaped with 57 lp wearing agile (I was foodless at the time). I must be missing something, but I don't quite understand the surprise. Also: The black knight drains your prayer randomly during battle, regardless of if you have it activated. Drain your prayer before you go in.
  24. Finished it today, missed an opportunity for the "what is this I don't even" screenshot... But leveled prayer and mining! The experiment is pretty easy once you figure out what you're doing.
  25. I noticed there's now a Redberry bush in Draynor, near the pig pen. I'm pretty sure that's recent.
