Runescape fails at skills
It reminds me of the Two and a Half Men episode where Charlie and Jake watch several movies over the course of the episode, and Jake is making fun of Jaws because there is still no shark some 40 minutes into the movie. Charlie says it's a classic movie, and Jake says: "You know what's a classic? Snakes On A Plane."

You have to be an active RSC player to access Classic. I'm going to blame it on the mass that has been resting comfortably inside of my head for the past six years, slightly below my left eye, that is causing the slow deterioration of my senses. That's not true! I usually use more emoticons...

This weekend, coming to Tip.It! Are you tired of writing long winded rants that go nowhere? Are you sick of posters taking inane thoughts and stringing them out in a manner that just takes too long to read? Do you hate punctuation? Want to learn new ways to molest the English language that should be punishable by death? Well sign up for gamersean1's new seminar: Dress For Something Or Other! Learn about the good old days without actually reading anything! gamersean will teach you how to say nothing, while saying nothing! There is an intricate art in making vague statements that reference back to vague time periods, where vague events vaguely occurred in a vague sense, and gamersean1 is willing to share those secrets with you! Just send some kind of money to gamersean1 in an addressed envelope to that building, and in a time frame you will receive something that has to do with this. Warning: gamersean1's Dress To Something Or Other is not for everyone, including people prone to aneurisms, high blood pressure, graduation, or anyone with a mild to severe case of rage. Symptoms of light bullheadedness, drowsiness, rage, and an inexplicable paranoia that you're taking lessons from an idiot may occur, but should subside shortly afterward, and should be discontinued if prolonged for more than twenty minutes. Do not take Dress To Something Or Other in combination with a dictionary, thesaurus, or in the presence of any professional English or logic teachers. Side effects of Dress To Something Or Other may include, but are not limited to, rage, an unexplainable attraction of trolls, having yourself featured in a parody drug commercial, and a feeling of nostalgia for something that has never happened. So order Gamersean's Dress To Something Or Other today! These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Gamersean's Dress To Something or Other is not intended to cure, treat, or stamp out any disease, although it may cause several. Order today and get your free pair of rose tinted glasses.

Mod Tale
Then don't. It's still fun to read through what's happening. Like a...spontaneous fiction story that evolves every day. Oh and I might as well point this out now to speculators: This event will likely not culminate in an item or update, since April 10th is a Saturday, assuming this even is an actual Jagex event.

Runescape forums.
I can't spend too much time on the RSOF without leaving in rage. It's like seeing the kids of that Westboro Baptist Church. You know it's not their fault, because they are kids and they don't know what they're talking about, but you still want to slap the [cabbage] out of them for saying it.

I agree with this. In another sense this to me feels like another week of wasted membership..... Oh well, those robes are good. Yea, because you've totally done everything membership has to offer...

New Skill Tomorrow??
So we'll all see each other for next week's "Is this week the new skill update?" thread then?
-
New Skill Tomorrow??
This theory has popped up in its own thread at least once a month since Summoning launched, and every month before then. Everything pointed out here: 1. It's the perfect time. 2. This update is a hint towards it. 3. The twitter update 4. It is ___ days/months/years after X update 5. Jagex being cryptic. As for #3, is that really evidence? Jagex being too direct with their hint? I've heard that countless times since Jagex started doing hints on Twitter, and every time it was exactly what they said it would be. Jagex sets themselves up for this, and I know they love players speculating, but they pretty much trashed the concept of verbatim back in 2005 when they announced Player Owned Houses in the Behind the Scenes as "be able to sit in chairs," because for years after every ending to every Behind the Scenes was somehow a hint towards something huge, which is why so many people ranted at the end of each month. Jagex would say "We're upgrading the engine to improve performance on lower end machines," and somehow people would turn that into "Upgrading the engine? THAT MUST MEAN KEWL 3D GRAPHX ON A NEW ENGINE!" only to end in miserable disappointment when it turns out that the update was indeed just an engine update for performance. And for the record, the new skill could come out tomorrow and that still wouldn't make the OP right. Someone has called out new skill virtually every week with similar supporting evidence, since the new skill was confirmed. If I tell someone it's going to rain every morning, it doesn't make me a weather man when three weeks later, it rains. Throw enough spaghetti at the fridge, and at least one strand will stick eventually, no matter how poorly the pasta is cooked.

Skillers
You're half right. The pure skiller is taking the stupidly unproductive way, the guy who walks around with no shoes is just an idiot and an attention seeker. This is nothing new with Runescape, take a look on Youtube, you'll find plenty of people playing games like Final Fantasy with requirements like "No Phoenix Downs" "All white mages" "All black mages" "All fighters" "One Character" and more. Some genuinely do it for the thrill of a challenge, but most just want an internet pat on the back, and attention.

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Hook? BAIT? phishing? It's a scamming update. This is where Jagex announces that they are actually a Nigerian company and Runescape was an elaborate phishing operation for the past ten years to gather money from people not through illegally removing it from their accounts, but by developing and marketing a video game that is accessible by the tween market, many of whom are susceptible to bans, and thus creating new accounts and paying more than the monthly fee, due to their innate pension for bad words. The announcement will be made by CEO Anenih Godwin, or Andrew Gower as you gullible white folks know him, who will announce that Runescape has become the most successful Nigerian video game/scam in history, and will graciously thank you for your monies, and for giving work to the poor souls who have been keeping Runescape up with updates despite no pay other than some bread and water every day. He hopes you look forward to the new skill as much as he does, and remember that the monies will be transferred to your account immediately when you pay the deposit as a sign of faith. -Jagex CEO Anenih Godwin

Runescape fails at skills
Skills take a long time to train compared to other games because of one key: The focus. In games like Darkfall, combat stats raise rather quickly because PvP and focused skills are the focus of the game. In World of Warcraft, they have made the grind easier over the years because end-game is where the action is, so Blizzard needs to rush players there before they get bored. In Runesape, skills take a long time because it is about the progression and development of your character who can be anything you want, including jack of all trades if you wish to invest the time.

Manipulation Clans
If Jagex put in measures to stop price manipulation which is (at the moment) very easy with a clan on the GE, and maybe bans a few leaders of these manipulation clans, this wouldn't be an issue. I think Jagex is looking towards methods to stop manipulation, and when they do a ball is going to be dropped. They've already busted up a few attempted manipulations last year, but they can't win the war by trying to get there first.

Runescape fails at skills
ITT: Ten year old OP expects everything handed to him on a silver platter. This is what happens when you stick a kiddie in an MMO, who has no concept of time-sinks, money-sinks, and simply wants something to satiate his ten second attention span. I like how the OP's only skill he has no problems with is fletching, which also happens to be his only skill above 80, while most other members skills are in the 30-40's range, yet he's judging the skills as if he's been playing them for years. The fact that fletching is his favy only goes to prove that in order for a skill to be "successful' in his eyes, it has to level fast, and be profitable at the same time. Given your stats, quests completed, and number of posts (lol joindate elitism), I doubt anyone is going to take your opinion with anything more than a grain of salt. You don't have the foggiest clue what you're talking about, and this thread should be treated about the same as a rant from someone whose experience of Runescape comes from a friend who told him about it.

What is an 09pker? Maybe the only insult I haven't heard of so far...- I'm Back, By The Way
I did. Movie marathon, nothing huge.- I'm Back, By The Way
For two weeks I've been on a "vacation." By vacation, of course, I mean I've been house sitting and watching my sister's dog while my mom went on vacation to Aruba. Chance (the dog) is a very intelligent dog, and as pathetic as this sounds, it turned into two weeks of trying to outwit a dog. Aside from being a complete bastage, he's a very needy animal, not to mention thinking he's a ten pound lapdog. He's 80 pounds, fyi. One thing I didn't have was access to a computer, so I went cold turkey on the internet and gaming for about two weeks straight. *shudder* But I'm back! Ranters beware...- Summoning N00B?
Hey guys, this guy was acting immature to me, so I acted just as immature back to him, and now I need an internet pat on the back and a "good on ya." Also: I'm having chicken quesadilla rolls from T.G.I Fridays, with Montary Jack Cheese, and Limeade and coffee ice cream. I plan on eating the quesadilla rolls with my hands I will then eat the ice cream with a spoon. The limeade is in its own bottle, so I'm just drinking it out of there. Hell yea dinner! WOOT Chicken fingers (3/11/10) Shake-n-Bake Chicken (3/12/10) Buffalo Chicken Pizza (3/13/10) Chicken (3/14/10) Chicken quesadillas (3/15/10) Yea. I'm a total chicken noob. Lulz- Awful PKer Scrubs
With kids its because they have this feeling of godliness because they go through PvE and own the mindless goblins and other NPCs whose strategy consists of nothing more than bashing your over the head with a weapon until someone runs out of HP (er...constitution?). When they finally start fighting players and realize that they are fighting someone with a brain stem, they get pissed because that person is eating, using tactics, and outsmarting them. They want the person to stand there and die, essentially. This is why Tip.It saw a flux of "omg reverants are overpowered" (Yes, I misspelled it for effect) threads in the two years following their introduction. Players expect abundant NPCs (By abundant I mean non-boss) to be mindless and stupid, and since the revenants are among Jagex's most intelligent NPCs (Eating, speccing, tele-blocking, and more), these kiddies are at a loss for what to do. Also: Say what you want about Gidion, one thing he is not is subtle. Keep killing them, let them fume while they're in Lumbridge- No money for expensive skills
Deer Jagflax, Ur gaem is stooped. I play liek tree dais and ur liek: "Omg u knead to play 4 more den too days to get 2 endgame." I want fr33 phats, 99's and stuffs nao! Dat theevin is a muney black hol. Did I menshun itz stuped? Dere all stopid. Tanks fore lisuning 2 mi rant. Signed, Not a twelve year old.- RIP Runescape
Recipe for a successful rant: 1. Make no point at all. 2. Let the tears flow. 3. Claim the game died. Add in a shake of rose-tinted glasses, add water, add water, and voila! You've got a bomb! - Awful PKer Scrubs
