Let me get one thing straight - they're the ones who have already ruined (more like decimated) the game for us. I would never have cancelled my sub had it not for the complete loss of hope. This game was built for players, not bots. No online game dev in the right mind would tolerate cheaters.

Tbh...i never thought jiblix had a majority impact..and what we were trying to do was simply letting our voices to be heard and to stand up to a greedy and evil corporate jagex. What this result says is that jiblix do indeed represent the real, common, players. He gave them a voice. No matter how many ppl actually voted/not voted after seeing the vid does not matter -but the message seem to have finally gotten through the thick coporate heads at the jagex mansion.

Mmm..."the world's most popular free mmorpg" didn't win a category called "best free to play" in probably the largest open voting ing gaming awards? That makes a statement right there. (to add to that, gja is a uk based award too) Maybe at least jagex will stop falsely trying to claim that title.

Looks that way...found a jmod post that says exactly that - they've been detecing and 'saving up' bots...for a mass ban? Please ffs do some perm banning this time.... Nuking bots =/= giving bots a rollback or a week temp ban.

One good point from rsof - where is mmg pulling these numbers from? 1 million bots banned? those following bots will notice that there really hasn't been much banning for quite a long time. Even the 1-2 month mod chrisso had tracked banned bots - it never peaked past 30k. And now you tell me you banned 1 million? I call bs. Did they count the bots temp banned 3+ times but still botting? Or people rollbacked as b 'banned'? I really don't consider a 7-14day temp ban even a real ban...

GG jagex. Hopefully jagex knows why they lost...and finally got our message.

For me, 98% is close enough to 100%... However, I could imagine jagex completely failing and 98% of bots remained...

Although most of us know well that jagex will put a message in your inbox instead of randomly pming you, the scammers sure have gotten advanced to be able to actually have mod mark in the name....

I would like to believe this, all of it, I really do. But until I log in on the 25th and really see for myself that there are no bots, I will not fall for it again. Even if the system is as good as mmg makes it sound like, it has come at least 10 months too late. (why wasn't such a system implemented much earlier?) The extra xp and reward..mmm...sure whatever if there are no bots.

Randoms do work - if jagex just have update them once in a blue moon...aaand..actually ban bots who spend hours in randoms. The problem is still no real enforcement. The cheaters gets away with pretty much everything.

Now that's what I want to see from an mmo dev - integrity.

Fanboys will be fanboys... Anyways, apparently golden joysticks got a "record" 2 mil votes this year...this can only be good news I think. Results on the 29th.

Why was tip.it hacked? That one mention of tip.it times in the botting newspost? These cheaters are getting ruthless...

Considering just how conservative (soc and econ) the us is, this really isn't much of a surprise.

Ay, if I can go back 10 years and pick another game, I would not have picked rs again, against so much hate snd ridi ule and esp today knowing how it would end... Should've gone pro with starcraft....

I have always thought that jagex would at least put forward a good faith effort in anti botting..but definitely not anymore. They really could do a lot of what everyone has mentioned...but instead they choose to stop perm bans, do multiple temp bans and rollbacks, sell banned accounts back, all at the same time qhene they bring back free trade and the huge bot explosion. In short, they no longer give a crap. No matter what mmg or the jagex propaganda wants to claim, jagex profit off bots. And profit is thef number one word of the day for jagex now.

Short on time atmut will add that even if jagex somehow wins the gja with their shameless vote pr.... I will have gotten enough satisfaction from the community backlash and the anti botting sentiment it has stirred. Thank you jibllix and thank you for everyone in the community who was brave enough to speak up against a now corrupt company ran by investors. Whatever fanboys and bots may put forward in the results, we have already won. Gg jagex.

Nice to see them finally doing something...but Seriously, why the [bleep] aren't these lvl 3 throwaway ad bots even getting perm bans? You send a jmod out to manually find ad bots (great bot detection tech there...Can't even detect auto typers..), just to give them temp mutes? So they can mass advertise again soon? O wait, these ad bots must count toward the numbers of rs being the "number 1 free mmo". What an embarassing way to deal with an embarassment.
