  1. Yeah what the hell, if i'm not doing anything when it is i'll come along. I love this new minigame.
  2. From what i've heard this film is very respectful to what happened, and in that case I have no problem with this film being made. I think it's important to help other people understand what happened, and although I hope there isn't an American hero theme portrayed, the overall message of the film that the world will rally against terrorism i think is important. I don't have a problem with the timing of it, it's been long enough and if all the families involved were okay with it, i think it's purely jumping on the "it's too soon!" bandwagon. I know Ghostranger isn't doing this, but a lot of other people are doing, when really it acts as a fitting tribute and testimony to the heroism of the people on that flight, why wait for it?
  3. OMG IT'S BUBSA IN A THONG! :D Haha, well done for finishing in pla...the marathon :P
  4. Very sorry to hear about your loss Sluggy, my heart goes out to you and your family. As we've all said, we're all here for you. R.I.P. Matthew Aaron Watkins
  5. Amazingly no one has mentioned the riff from More Than A Feeling by Boston, that gets me going on air guitar everytime. And on the Boston note, Don't Look Back has a pretty good riff.
  6. I love this song, the video is very clever as well. Can't wait for the new album, should be very good. A cruel friend sent me an old Chili's song that he had renamed Dani California the day it was released saying "wow listen to the Chili's new style!" It wasn't Dani California, instead a really cool funky early Chili's song, but had me confused for a long time :(
  7. Wow, with that kind of money they can afford not to care about the odd ranting player :P Good on them though.
  8. Have you ever watched it on television before? Loads of people are dressed insanely. I just found out it's actually 35k people running not 20k so it's not suprising we didn't see him. Anyway he should be finished by now (I hope) so well done bubsa (hopefully) Speaking of insanely dressed... Am I the only one who thinks the costume on the left looks a little... wrong? Is that a rhino's horn or is that a...
  9. Watching it now on the TV, looking out for a sexy beast in a thong...and Bubsa :P
  10. Wow, I can't for the life of me think how a plane would escape the sonic boom. I can think of ways that it would be reduced but not eliminated altogether. However, at very high altitudes the "cone" of sound that creates the sonic boom will never intersect with the ground, so no sonic boom on the ground would be heard, but the sonic boom is still there.
  11. To be honest every year is better than the last, and since i've never really had a terrible year my life must be pretty good. I might start to think otherwise though when I get to my exams :(
  12. My neighbourhood's pretty boring, middle class suburbia, but if you head 10 minutes out into the direction of the country on a mountain bike there are some fantastic bike rides and walks, that's what makes it worth living here. I live only 5 minutes away from my school by car as well which is handy, 10 by bike, 25 walking.
  13. Worked in the Port Sarim's grocery store, taking bananas out of the crate and selling them to the shop for 1gp each. It's a wonder i've got anywhere
  14. To be honest I don't have that many people on Rs who i'll regularly chat to, just a small circle of close friends. It doesn't bother me though, but anyone who's ever feeling lonely or bored feel free to add me.
  15. Ugh that drives me mad. Even though I go to an all boys school there's hardly a day gone by when someone walks up to me and tries to give me a hug saying "you know i love you man" :( No there's no hidden agenda in there :P
  16. Not that I like rap, or what the guy rapped about, but it's a shame to see his life ended too young.
  17. I think I have a good balance between computer use and everything else. Hanging out with my friends and even family still takes precedence over the PC, I do a lot of sport, (rugby, running, serious cycling, tennis, karate, cricket, swimming and sailing) see my friends plenty enough for me, do very well academically but still sometimes like to kick back and relax on the computer. It's just how I do it. Normally i'm listening to and researching music, looking up stuff on Wikipedia and browsing the forums, so i'll rarely just focus on a game. But I never worry about it if I do. As for kids these days...yeah i think they probably do play on computers to much. But as Merc said better computer games than ASBO's, they just need to learn about how to play out and hang out responsibly and safely.
  18. A very interesting read. When i was reading about the cold war i was wondering how many of these false alarms the early warning systems went through, and whether or not they were kept secret. Ultimate credit to the guy, i couldn't imagine being in a more stressful position. Good find Barihawk :)
  19. A fully charged crystal bow.
  20. Yup that's it, I wish I could of put it simply like that myself :P

Haha, that was very funny :D
  22. As awesome as Lance Armstrong is, he isn't the greatest cyclist ever. It has to be Eddy Merckx. Lance Armstrong however completely dominated le Tour de France, and his fitness and training and determination are inspirational. Although velodrome cycling is tough, it's not the same as climbing a mountain in boiling heat. I do a fair bit of cycling myself, and I have ultimate respect for tour riders.
  23. Obviously the next big step would be to put humans on Mars, but that's still a long way off. Until humans develop more efficient/powerful rockets and spacecraft we won't get very far. It takes too long and costs too much at the moment. Even if we did create outer space colonies I don't see why i'd want to live there. Earth is much nicer, if we don't screw it up.

Really? I don't mean to be picky but I didn't think that was the case anymore. As far as I know there are seven countries with nuclear weapons, the US, Russia, the UK, France, China, India, Pakistan and North Korea. Out of those i'd say only the first 5 have the capabilities to deliver them over a long enough range to target countries on a global scale (ICBMs and submarines with ballistic capabilities). And ironically they're the five permanent members of the UN security council. I know that doesn't mean anything but I thought since the cold war countries only had nuclear weapons delivery strategies developed to attack their "allies" in a theoretical sense. I could be wrong but it's just what I thought. China has ICBM's, you forget that. It's practically an "Ice War." You are also forgetting countries with medium and low-range nuclear cruise missles, which foremost of all includes our ally Britain. Many other nations have this capability. It would not be hard to design an oil tanker with missile racks and shower the US with complete destruction, while ensuring that the Strategic Air Command has absolutely nothing to retaliate on. You can't break down nuclear power solely on the basis of ICBM capabilities. As stated before, Israel has racks upon racks of atomic bombs that can be delivered by aircraft. I realise that there are multiple delivery methods, but i just didn't think that there were submarines out there with their nuclear missles literally aimed at other countries. I'm sure China has plans to attack the United States in the event of a war, most countries will, but I thought since the end of the cold war they were just that, plans. Unlike in the Cold War where pretty much all America's nuclear warheads were targeted at Russia, and vice versa, and were kept ready to be launched.
