UK population could soar to 90m
I'd give a long and considered reply, but i'll be frank and cut to the chase. The only justification you could possibly have for cutting the UK from potential immigrants is blatant racism. No economic or social argument could support such a policy. Why on earth do you support them in the first place? I'm genuinely curious.

On Lies
I agree, you made a lot of big claims there dressed up in big fancy words then completely skimmed over them. For example: "Motion is an illusion" What are you on (about) ?

Christmas-What do you want, what will you give, and more!
I'm thinking about asking for a DigiTech 100 Whammy-Wah effects pedal for my guitar. Or at least I might buy it for myself about that time, Christmas always seems to make buying things more special, or at least more of an event. Damn, Christmas shopping, another thing I need to do.

Nuclear Bombing Of Japan
Good question. I actually did a history paper on whether or not the mass bombing raids by the RAF on Germany could be justifiable. Franky, no, not if the targets were non-military and not if the war was coming to an end (as it was when we started fire-bombing places like Dresden). The bombing is too indiscriminate. And, no doubt, you'll have covered how strategic bombing doesn't by itself serve much purpose? The city of Hamburg, for example, which was reduced to just 20% of its original size in one of our 'Thousand Bomber Raids' was back, and fully operational in terms of production within five months. All it really seemed to do was give the Nazi propaganda machine more meat to chew on, and strengthen the resolve of its people. Yeah I know, but that only says something for the effectiveness of our bombing crews/bombs/other equipment, not the morality of it. At least there's some kind of purpose behind strategic bombing.

Weddings- Extravagant or Basic?
A marriage should be whatever the people getting married want it to be. Personally, I'd rather have a small affair with only close friends/family invited in a more special location, probably a place I go on holiday to. That would be much more special to me than a massive function somewhere with hundreds of people and all the usual wedding cliches.

Anonymous survey
1. In your opinion, what is truth? There are different kinds of truth and I don't think there is any one particular answer. In terms of absolute truths, all I can think of are mathematically proven statements. In terms of other kind of truths, "true/false" statements etc. we can only ever know what we perceive to be true through empirical observation and experiment, the scientific method is the ultimate vehicle for finding the truth. "Truth is beauty, beauty truth" - John Keats 2. Do you believe in God or Allah or Buddha or any other deity or higher force, power, or being? No. 3. Can you give any reasons for why you believe/disbelieve in the above? Give me a reason to believe in something for which there is no evidence. The only justification for believing in a higher power could be that it is simply a matter of faith, I don't take anything on faith.

Nuclear Bombing Of Japan
Medellin, don't forget the different intentions of the attacks which have been stated before by others. Pearl Harbour: attack on military targets. Atomic bombings: attack on civilian targets They are not equatable, and [bleep] for tat doesn't work as a justification.

The UK government loses 25m records.
Unlikely. They are more likely to sit on these details for months possibly even years before registering accounts in the childrens names. Those children ages 17 are the ones most likely to have their identities used by criminals when they turn 18. Yeah, apparently there's some kind of system in place now which is watching for any accounts created in those names.

Sand And Glue - I Am Kloot Any Morrissey or The Smiths fans, it'd be worth checking these guys out. A brilliant Manchester indie band with a lyricist who's lyrics are as dark and witty as Morrissey's. Bizarrely, the drummer is my old art teacher's brother.

OH TEH NOES! [My Lit Teacher is a PETA Activist >_>]
That's not the issue at all, he wasn't saying that he felt offended, the issue is that a teacher is using her position of influence over children to try and push a one sided personal agenda which is not related to the curriculum.

The human mind never ceases to amaze me...
Yeah this is pretty cool, saw it a while back and it amazed me then. But...research at Cambridge University? I'm slightly doubtful, probably just added to lend it a bit of credibility. Fun none the less.

Favourite Song Lyrics
Lover, You Should've Come Over - Jeff Buckley Looking out the door I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners Parading in a wake of sad relations As their shoes fill up with water Maybe I'm too young To keep good love from going wrong But tonight, you're on my mind so You never know Broken down and hungry for your love With no way to feed it Where are you tonight? Child, you know how much I need it. Too young to hold on And too old to just break free and run Sometimes a man gets carried away, When he feels like he should be having his fun Much too blind to see the damage he's done Sometimes a man must awake to find that, really, He has no-one... So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn Will I ever see your sweet return? Oh, will I ever learn? Oh, Lover, you should've come over Cause it's not too late. Lonely is the room the bed is made The open window lets the rain in Burning in the corner is the only one Who dreams he had you with him My body turns and yearns for a sleep That won't ever come It's never over, My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her... It's never over, All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter... It's never over, She's a tear that hangs inside my soul forever... But maybe I'm just too young to keep good love From going wrong Oh... lover you should've come over... Yes, and I feel too young to hold on I'm much too old to break free and run Too deaf, dumb, and blind To see the damage I've done Sweet lover, you should've come over Oh, love, well I'll wait for you Lover, you should've come over 'Cause it's not too late. Coming Back To Life - Pink Floyd Where were you when I was burned and broken While the days slipped by from my window watching Where were you when I was hurt and helpless Because the things you say and the things you do surround me While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words Dying to believe in what you heard I was staring straight into the shining sun Lost in thought and lost in time While the seeds of lifeand the seeds of change were planted Outside the rain fell dark and slow While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the moment had arrived For killing the past and coming back to life I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the waiting had begun And headed straight..into the shining sun
