Actually, say theres a lvl 90 warrior, hes probably 70 attack and str? Now imagine a lvl 90 ranger, aka a tank, with the same def and perhaps 90ish ranged? The warrior would get slaughtered. A real ranger has ranged based combat >.< A maxed ranger is only lvl 101 and challanges a lvl 126 in power anyday.... so, yeah and f2p is probably the most balanced combat system, melee>ranged>mage unlike p2p where all 3 classes are near equal

You can. It has a use though, if you wield it, you cannot be frozen binded entangles etc...

Needless to say, the bow will win. The shield degrades and is not worth recharging, for the same price as the first few charges you could buy a d sq. Meanwhile the bow owns, hits high, and is a great bow for training once its under 200k a charge
