Ive revised my thought on the composition of the armors. The base of the armor is made from bones of the brother containing a living spirit, they are then coated in strong metals, the bones providing very strong support for the metal. The armor is then coated in leather. The bones with spirits in them explain the strong defense and degrading. The metals also explain the strong def The leather explains what we see, and the decent mage def (for melee armor)

Tried a solo trip this morning, killed like 15 rexes :( nothings EDIT: make that 2 solo mage trips, and 1 team mage/melee trip. axe, 3 way split.
