  1. I don't think there is a main stock tab. There's only a player tab. But the products will stock back up on their own slowly.
  2. The Tip.It Items Database says that you can buy a cooking apple from the Culinaromancer's Chest for 198 gp. However, that's not what the Culinaromancer's Chest Shop Database says. It says it sells for 46 gp, which is correct. A picture below confirms this.
  3. I guess I will then. Item Name: Flies Item Examine: A swarm of little flies. Members Only? Yes Tradeable: Yes Stackable: No Weight: 0.0 kg Quest? No Location: Sold at Pet shops for 10 gp each Uses: Used as food for chameleons and geckos. Low Alchemy: 4 gp High Alchemy: 6 gp Notes: Category: Pet Links: Summoning - Pets, Shop Database(pet shop) *** Item Name: Beetle bits Item Examine: Some beetle bits. Members Only? Yes Tradeable: Yes Stackable: No Weight: 0.0 kg Quest? No Location: Sold at Pet shops for 10 gp each Uses: Used as food for geckos. Low Alchemy: 4 gp High Alchemy: 6 gp Notes: Category: Pet Links: Summoning - Pets, Shop Database(pet shop) I noticed that in the Tip.It Summoning Guide it says you have to feed a gecko "squashed flies and beetle bits." It should probably say "flies or beetle bits," because the item isn't called "squashed flies." If a gecko owner could confirm this that would be helpful to clear up the confusion.
  4. I noticed the Item Database doesn't have this entry yet. Item Name: Nuts Item Examine: Mmmm...nuts Members Only? Yes Tradeable: Yes Stackable: No Weight: 0.0 kg Quest? No Location: Sold at Pet shops for 10 gp each Uses: Used as bait for catching squirrels and used as food for feeding your pet squirrel. Low Alchemy: 4 gp High Alchemy: 6 gp Notes: ? Category: Pet Links: Summoning - Pets (perhaps the shop database?) Also the database doesn't have Flies or Beetle Bits either if someone wants to get those. Foodfight13
  5. Even though I support the side of the argument you lean towards, I'm going to tell you what you have there isn't really that good of an argument. A lot of players really enjoyed player killing while it was around, and that was more fun to them than increasing their skills. They made money off of it too along with merchanting (also hit by the "player-killing killing updates"), which they say has become much harder to do (I still think it's possible, but that's another argument). Your opinion by itself doesn't do much.
  6. Okay, I see your point. I think the first tip is still valid though, and maybe you can somehow use some of the other stuff I mentioned, plus what you pointed out if you think the guide could use it. Use what you can and want to use.
  7. The item in parentheses is what I used to represent the tabs. 1. Currency, runes, potions, and things such as moonclan staff, knife, pot, bowl, bucket, my collections, etc. (vial of water) 2. Anything related to herblore and farming (jade vine seed) 3. Any item that is not armor or clothing that is a Quest Item (ghostspeak amulet) 4. Anything that is used for melee or magic combat, including slayer items (anti-dragon shield) 5. Anything that is related to ranged or fletching (chompy hat) 6. Any clothing items that I would wear when I'm working on a skill, quest, or other activity that doesn't need combat (tricorn hat) 7. Tools and items used for construction, crafting, runecrafting, fishing, and hunting, and some other misc tools (machete) 8. Summoning items, food, and anything that I feel doesn't belong in the other categories (blank pouch)
  8. I'm not so sure if that's better. I looked at the the Market Prices for acorns and Willow seeds just a minute ago, and the acorn was 69 gp and the Willow seed 4011gp. That means, for the same price as one willow seed, you could buy 58 acorns and still have change left over(at market price). And while planting all those acorns is a heck of a lot slower, you will get over 28k exp from all those acorns, while only getting about 1.4k exp from the willow seed.
  9. I believe I also am kept going by a friend. The question which I am afraid to answer is if this friend quits, will I still keep playing myself? Since I don't bother to add more friends to me list(or delete old ones for that matter) I only have a few "friends" that still play regularly, one of which I talk to frequently. I think new content as it comes in will keep me playing, but also that one great friend I have that plays too. I liked the article. Then again, I always love reading the Tip.It Times.
  10. Just a few more tips to add to the Vinesweeper section: -Sometimes it is better to mentally locate a few seeds without flagging them, then flag them all simultaneously. That way, the farmers won't keep clearing the patch as you uncover seeds and the numbers around them. This is best done with a partner who understands your strategy. Just stay on the lookout for rabbits. -For those farmers who really want to get the best exp out of their points, they should use them towards acorns if they're looking at tree seeds. While oak trees don't give a ton of exp, they have the best exp ratio per point. See the chart below: As you can tell, the ratio for oak trees is much higher than all other trees. I also did some of the other more popular farming seeds and figured out their XP per point ratios: You get 120 exp for picking all 3 limpwurt roots at once. I chose 5 as a number of herbs harvested and 10 for allotment products because I think those are average numbers from my own experience. Obviously you could have more or less, which may alter these numbers slightly, but not enough to make a big difference. The 5 and 10 mean that you picked 5 herbs or harvested 10 allotment products. Looking at this table it shows that really the best exp per point is in the three lowest level herbs, which sell for just 10 points each! Limpwurt roots also come up higher than other farming products. It is up to you to decide which of the 5 to buy with your points: acorns, guam seeds, marrentill seeds, tarromin seeds, or limpwurt root seeds. It may be beneficial to note that usually it is harder to get a higher quantity of herbs with the three lowest herb seeds, even with super compost. Also, these herbs usually don't sell at the highest price in the Runescape market nor provide the best xp. Also, you will need to grow many more herbs or oak trees to get the exp equal to their higher equivalents. While it will cost you less points, it will take more time to grow all the plants. Make sure you take into consider all the factors when spending your points. *** EDIT: I am having trouble with the images, if you copy the URL into your browser, you can see the images there: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b339/ ... hart-1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b339/ ... 11. Not to steal your topic, but I have found another error in the Construction Table. In the Construction Table it says that at level 66 you can plant a "Orange Flower" in your formal garden. In Runescape this orange flower is called "Rosemary," but you still buy the plant from the Garden Supplier in Falador, and it still costs 5k gp. You cannot use Rosemary seeds to plant Rosemary in your formal garden.
  12. It's "Foodfight13," "Foodfight," or "Food". No flood, floodfight, no hurricane or any other natural disasters. :wall:
  13. No, you wouldn't drive them to less-efficient forms of money-making. You'd drive them to a game with more efficient means of money making. You see, fishing, mining and woodcutting (As well as flax picking, although not technically a skill) were the main choices because they required the least amount of monetary investment (All you need is a cheap bronze axe/pickaxe or a net) and the least amount effort (Click once, wait for inventory to fill up, run to bank, run back to tree and repeat) in comparison to the profit to be had making them. All other skills require some type of intermediate good, which is then processed into the final good. And, even then, the profits aren't that good unless you happen to collect every ingredient/material yourself. Of course, if you collected your own goods, you wouldn't be very time efficient. Since we know that these weren't bots but, as Jagex decided to label them, 'Chinese sweatshop workers', everything. If you were a 'sweatshop owner' why would you waste your time on a game in which the real life profits are lower than the profits to be had elsewhere? You wouldn't. Did you happen to poll all the "sweatshop owners" and ask them what exactly they would do if those skills were removed?
  14. For me, I had to go with the bank update. I shouted "YES!" in real life when I read that. I'm also very excited for the other updates too, including the new quest, but I hope they don't send us too deep. I hate the wilderness with a passion, just as much as before they took out player killing. I still get goosebumps whenever I go in to do a treasure trail.
  15. That is equivalent to saying that newer players or younger players wouldn't be able to kill boss monsters effectively, do quests, or level a skill efficiently because older players had more experience at those sorts of activities. you seem to love flaming virturally *everyone's* posts How is that flaming? I'm not even sure if that's mild flaming, which is allowed by the rules. That's my opinion of what Allanos was saying with that one quote, and I was in no way attacking other people. In fact, Allanos' statement is probably closer to flaming than mine, because he/she was practically saying that (to put it bluntly) "new and young players can't be good at things because they don't have as much experience as people who have been doing it longer than them." That's what I'm translating from that. I haven't "flamed" everyone's posts, I've only made valid points with a strong opinion on maybe two or three people's posts. This is the Debate Club isn't it? I'm sorry if you or others are offended by my "aggressive attacks of debate", but it's what you need to expect. I've seen a lot worse that people have gotten away with. An example of flaming would be something like this: "your idea is stupid, you're an idiot, anyone who thinks this way is stupid, blah blah blah, etc." And I clearly did nothing of that sort. I will be very surprised if a moderator shows up and says my posts are flaming. To be on topic, while you can't merchant as efficiently as before, you should still be able to do it to some degree. If you can't make money from it, then I'm sorry, but complaining isn't doing anything but keeping you from going out and finding another way of making money.
  16. I was doing the quest Rocking Out and I couldn't see the arrows used in the interface to fix the Brass-handed guy's hand. I had to log into regular Runescape to continue. I also noticed the fists are bent kind of weird when your character runs. I also heard lag can be bad when playing in HD.
  17. Also think about this: if Jagex did release quest chains all at once, how often would we get them? Not only would the quality of the quests possibly decrease, but Quests could become a rarity, and I think the worth of a Quest Cape would drop a little, because you wouldn't have to work every month to maintain the cape. That is one of the reasons I love the Quest cape, it's the cape that you periodically have to keep working at.
  18. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, there really isn't much of a stated opinion in that paragraph. The really obscure part is the last sentence, which could use some reworking in the wording (I am a grammar and spelling freak, sorry. Just look at my signature  ). To be more on topic, I will say that Jagex really hasn't made any skills easier to train in my opinion. I'm sure you may recall when they lowered the Pest Control awards and made other changes to the game because people were rocketing in their combat levels too quickly. They have done numerous things to help players get started, such as adding the tutors around Lumbridge. Also take a look at Summoning. It can be a really slow skill to train, because you have to get charms from killing monsters. You have to be really patient for that skill.
  19. No, they're probably not the majority, which means they have to learn more on how to play the game. Isn't that the whole point of a game? All new players need to learn the controls, basic goals and objectives(if there is one in Runescape), how to do certain activities, etc. That is why we have tutorial island. Playing Runescape is a learning process. It may take you several tries to be able to do something well. Isn't that the idea behind cooking? When you cook things more often, you gain experience and levels and then you don't burn things as much. Some people learn quicker than others, and some don't.
  20. Yes, you may have just revealed several revelations for some people who have not done those quests. I suggest you remove them from your post. Personally, I love quest chains. The plot and history and storylines keep me anticipating the next quest. I just love quests in general.
  21. That is equivalent to saying that newer players or younger players wouldn't be able to kill boss monsters effectively, do quests, or level a skill efficiently because older players had more experience at those sorts of activities.
  22. Since when is the removal of player killing something that Jagex wanted to do(which they never stated they wanted to do) in order to appease younger or newer people? I'm sure many of people, if they had the chance, would've loved player killing. How is player killing worse then killing any npc? There are still just as many risks to dying outside of the wilderness than dying within in it when Pking was still around. If you ever read the Development Diary explaining why they removed PKing, they NEVER said they were trying to appease a younger generation. I have actually died more times by a revenant then by a player killer. And I trust Jagex a lot more than someone who is blindly flinging accusations at a company and also fails to use pictures correctly as evidence. The only thing your pictures have proven is that the graphics have been better since the first days. By the way, the old hill giants didn't have loincloths on them as the one you portrayed does. They had pants on. Does that sound like something Jagex would do for a "younger generation"? Also, I believe your title is rather incorrect. I usually refer noob to be a term that has a meaning such as "jerk." Newb or newbie is used for newer players. And have really any of the updates that give new warning messages for "newbies" really affected you? They should be no matter to you because you already know about the dangers. If anything, Jagex is doing you a favor to you by reminding you about whatever peril you're about to walk into. And you can eventually turn those warnings off. As said before, merchanting is still possible with the Grand Exchange. In fact, it might even be easier to merchant. You don't have to wander around worlds or post all over the forums looking for a good buy, and then do the same again trying to sell it at a higher price. You can do it all right there in Varrock! Yes, Jagex is controlling the prices a little, but you can use that to your advantage. Buy at a low price and then sell high! I also want proof of your statement by Jagex. I want a link to wherever they said that.
  23. Sunday, June 29th, 2008 So I'm sure most of you know about some of the uproar over the new high requirement of the latest quest Rocking Out. I am slightly disappointed, especially because you cannot use a level booster such as a dwarven stout to complete the quest. I found that out the hard way after training on Iron using rings of forging(so horribly slow). I figured out that training on mithril with the use of the Blast Furnace was not only faster but hey! I actually earn some money even after buying all the raw materials! What's great about the blast furnace is it cuts coal in half. After smithing mithril platebodies, I will either sell them or high-alch them, depending on how much I get for selling them. I would rather high alch them. So that's what I'm gonna be doing for the next week or two. Happy Scaping all! Foodfight13
  24. Monday, June 9th, 2008 Well the forums are finally back up! I would personally like to thank all the time and effort that many people put into this, and some who probably didn't have their name mentioned. If you've looked at the last post, that was nearly 6 months ago. But that was not the last time I updated this. I have done many things since then, most of those which I reported were lost in the posts that were lost. Most recently, the new Quest: Smoking Kills; 2 clue scrolls, in which one of them brought me a guthix crozier(which suprisingly is only worth about 5k) and a Guthix blessed dragonhide body; achieved some new levels including 57 Summoning, 76 Attack, 76 Defence, and 70 Slayer; and made a ton of money when I made a very good financial move. Now I had not checked the prices on dragon armor recently, but it turns out that dragon platelegs and dragon medium helm both significantly dropped since when I last thought about how much they cost. So I sold my saradomin rune platelegs and platebody and bought Dragon platelegs, dragon medium helm, and granite body and still made at least 800k in the process. Going back to the Guthix crozier now. I decided to keep it because it only cost 5k. I did some price checking and found out that the Guthix Stole was only 19k! So after selling the Guthix blessed dragonhide piece, I bought a Guthix stole and Guthix Mitre. The Guthix mitre gives the best prayer bonus of any headpiece you might find, and the Guthix stole gives a whopping +10 prayer bonus, better than the Guthix Robe Top and Guthix Robe Bottom. Which, those two items are both over 100k each! So why have the Runescape markets set it at those prices? Apparently style has long dominated over combat benefits in this world of Runescape we enjoy. (I actually proved that when I bought the Sara plate armor when I had no good reason) This makes no sense to me. Anyone who looked over anything would clearly buy the Stole because of it's prayer bonus(which is 2 better than the other two pieces combined) and you would think that it would be demanded more(or maybe Jagex would set a higher price?). I see no benefit in buying these robes for the prayer bonus because the druid's robes(which are dropped by followers of Guthix) give the exact same bonus! And Monk's Robes, which are relatively cheap and easily obtainable in the Monastery, give 3-point better bonus! And those are practically free! -.- Yes, I am a little disgusted at that. Well I hope you enjoy these new forums, and I wish you all Happy Scaping! FF13
  25. I get on the forums maybe one or two times a week because I'm one of those people who has a real life that dominates all their time. When I do have spare time, I might go on Runescape or the Tip.It Forums, but those are just two activities out of the many things I can do in my free time.
