Dealing with Scabaras Quest Guide Corrections
It would be helpful to add that when talking to the High Priest click "Conversion, Eh?" and then "I will submit to your authority." over and over until he finally gives in. Note that second line isn't exactly correct.

Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the editor #11
I do agree with you here. Not all rules have been rightly made and not all leaders have ruled justly and made good decisions. You've definitely shown some excellent examples of this. But the point is that I believe that Jagex has made good decisions and established good rules and that we should follow them for the best possible outcome and the greater good of the Runescape community.

Um, no. If he wrote a letter and submitted it, he wouldn't get any more articles from The Editor. If anything he would get more Letters to the Editor, and that one would be from himself.

Tales from the Legends Guild: Foodfight13
Sunday, December 30, 2007 This will probably be the last journal for the year. I hope you guys all had a good break(so far) and I wish you Happy Holidays. So today I got 63 Construction. I also added a throne room, oak throne, Teak Shelves 2, and a Spiral Staircase(Limestone). That level puts me at 1590 Total Level(and also 700k poorer  ). I'm also at 92 Combat and on the verge of 93. Well, it's been nearly a month since I last posted, and a lot has changed (you can see my opinions in this week's Tip.It Times.) Much of the impact hasn't really effected me, but I do find it a disadvantage that I can no longer give large amounts of money or items away for gifts. As some people have put it "a harsh, but necessary action." I really wasn't all that upset that the Wilderness has changed so much. It still creeps me out though. Now instead of PKers, I'm afraid of Revenants. I get goosebumps whenever I go in there. :ohnoes: That's it for now, Happy Scaping to you all. FF13

Rs2: Blaming Miniclip For All The Evils Of Runescape
I've been playing for awhile now, and I was drawn to the game right around the time when Miniclip started advertising for RS. And I can tell you there were just as many scammers, cheaters, liars, and other misbehaving and immature people as there are now. There was also a good handful of nice, helpful people.

Tales from the Legends Guild: Foodfight13
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Well apparently I can't do Tears of Guthix today, but that's ok. I'll get it tomorrow. I've been buying burnt lobsters and sharks on the GE(look at my signature!) and it's been going ok. People have caught on that there are crazy people that do such things and are selling them. I'm currently woodcutting oaks for construction. I've also got less than 200 yew longbows to alch. I unexpectedly died while woodcutting from a tree spirit(I wasn't paying attention AND I had a ring of Life on... :wall:  ). But I got all my stuff back and I made a friend in the process. So a good day so far. I've also updated my forum signature and avatar. Enjoy. Happy Scaping, FF13

Tales from the Legends Guild: Foodfight13
Tuesday, November 27, 2007 Well, I guess I should update. I've now increased my total level to 182, and the only skill that is below 62 is Runecrafting. With less than 10k exp to go, I expect will not be there for long once I get to play the Tears of Guthix minigame tomorrow. The new quest was good. Killer cliffhanger though. :wall: Yeah, that's pretty much what I was doing when the quest ended... So the Not-So-Great Exchange eh? It seemed everyone was afraid it would ruin the economy, and I don't believe it really has. Some of those prices are questionable and some are definitely wrong. It's a great idea alright, but I don't think it turned out like what some of us had imagined. And Jagex failed to put a protective Bank PIN on it, but enough people have ranted and commented on that already, so I will say no more. I have an urge to spend some of that huge amount of money in my bank on Construction. It's just sitting there. And I could get a pretty sweet Construction level(not to mention a pretty sweet house) with it. Well that is it for now. Happy Scaping, FF13

Tales from the Legends Guild: Foodfight13
Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 Well, the new quest came out and I've started it. Looks good so far. Here's a picture: The new poll is interesting too. I got a construction level along with 76 fishing(yay for sharks!) so that puts me at 1579 total level. I feel good about that. Later, FF13

Is Jagex showing a lack of attention to autoing?
They've already made bots that kill green dragons in the wilderness for their hides and bones. Here is a guide on how to kill them: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=578529

Tales from the Legends Guild: Foodfight13
Friday, November 9, 2007 Well, it's time another one of those updates that I get to every month or two. My real life is winding down and will allow me to play RS more often. I'm interested in this month's quest and that big "Great Exchange" that people think will shake up the RS economy. Not much else to report except that I have hit my half-way mark for my 20k feathers goal. So <10,000 feathers to go. W00t. But then I have to cook them all. That won't be fun. I may not get that done for awhile... Happy Scaping FF13

Are We (Runescapers) racist?
I find this thread to be titled horribly. Sorry, but it is. People of a lower combat level than you specifically are in no way whatsoever a race or creed. We may tend to dislike situations where people may be above or equal to us in some way when their combat level is lower than ours. But that's not even really a good reason to dislike them. I believe you can only dislike someone when they are doing better than you and they have a lower skill level than you in the skill applying to that situation. For example, a level 55 miner happens to get more coal instead of a level 60 miner. I could care less what his combat level is. The fact that he's getting more coal than me is ticking me off a little. And I really don't believe that you should hate that person, it's not their fault. You could hate the frustrating part of the game that gave them the ore when they have a lower level than you, but it's really nothing to blow your top off for. To naturally dislike him or her is a tendency that all humans have. How you react and treat the person could define your general attitude towards people who may be getting that ore first, or whatever it is your doing when they have a lower level than you. But still, if you naturally tend to dislike that sort of people, I wouldn't call it racism. Even if you passionately hate those people with all your might, I would only classify it as an anger control problem. The only way you can be racist in Runescape is to be racist against a race that exists in real life. I haven't seen any RS ads in awhile, but I'm pretty sure that at least a few of their advertisements include people that aren't Caucasian.

Effects Of The Coming Update "Great Exchange" On The Economy
I'm very interested in this new Great Exchange. I think it will have some negative effect on merchanting, but it also depends on what items are up for sale. For example, let's look at the ordinary rune scimitar. There are thousands of these circulating through free and member servers. To try and find one to buy with the new Great Exchange shouldn't be too hard considering the amount of these that are sold. The price will stay relatively low because of the huge supply and the not as huge demand. It will be harder to make money with an item like this because there will be so many at a standard price. With this Great Exchange, one will not have to search around their server frantically trying to find someone who's selling at a low price, because they can buy off of anyone on any server. There will be a high enough supply priced at the standard cost. This makes it hard for other sellers who are above the standard price to sell because there will be so many other sellers who have just as easy access to the consumer who will naturally buy for the lower price. Now with rare items, merchanting will most likely be easier. With a low supply and a reasonable demand, as long as there is not any one else selling at a lower price, you can bump the price up a little bit. As long as you have a buyer, you can make a profit. I'm also interested into whether or not you can sell items while you are offline. The article isn't clear on that, but my gut feeling says you can't. :wall:

Tales from the Legends Guild: Foodfight13
Thursday, September 13, 2007 Well, it seems real life has caught up with me, and so it's back to school and those other extra-curricular activities that lower my daily Runescape time. Levels are harder to achieve, and so is the 100k experience needed to keep Juna allowing me to do Tears of Guthix. There was that one quest this month, and I thoroughly enjoyed that one. I even spent my time in the new dungeon, I found the warped turtles to be great for killing. And they didn't hit me that hard either. Fishing is still slow, and at this rate, I'm never gonna get 10k feathers done by the end of the year. I have to say the new Achievement Diary is a bit harder. But I don't think I'm going to complete it anytime soon. I'm not wasting 30k to get a special set of armor that will probably compare to Steel. Not worth it right now. So long for now, FF13

Arrow Thieves
I don't think Arrow Thieves are the best term for them. In Runescape, we would classify a thief as anyone scams someone or hacks their account and takes their items. The action of stealing implies taking something in a way that is illegal/against the rules. And as evil_eye_70 posted, Jagex does not consider taking someone else's arrows that are on the ground illegal. Yes, we all know it can be annoying. But the only person we can point the finger at is yourself for not picking them up. Jagex isn't going to do anything about it if you complain.

How jagex should have selected player mods.
Ok, so you're mad that someone with a low combat level sucked up to Jagex and was promoted to Player Moderator. But, we can only assume(unless you have further information about this player) that he only had a low combat level on this account. For all we know, this player may have had another account(or more) before that was in the high 90s in terms of combat, and over 1400+ total level. He may have a lot of experience in Runescape. We don't know. And even if this was his first account, is not interacting with other player moderators really that bad? I believe all new moderators are welcome to ask the more experienced mods any questions, but I don't believe that they need to have another moderator hold their hand when moderating.

How jagex should have selected player mods.
I deleted all those previous quotes so this post doesn't get extremely long and you don't have to scroll down for forever and a half to get to the content. You didn't come out and say "I'm making a statement for all of Runescape that says 'I think everyone in Runescape will not recommend bad people to be player mods.'" That is obvious. But what you did say is that in your plan, every moderator will pick good, mature people. And we can't count on everyone to do that. That is what I mean by the statement "speaking for all of Runescape(or maybe just a portion)." In a perfect world, yes they would pick mature people. But this world is not perfect, and if it was I doubt a game such as Runescape that has violence in it would exist. So to re-iterate, what I'm saying is you can't assume that everyone who is promoted to player moderator -- and the people that they in turn recommend -- are going to pick the best people for recommendation. I also don't know when you decided that when people were making "stupid" points, it was ok to flame them. I see nothing about that in the Forum Rules. Try reading them sometime. And no, I don't believe you have been doing mild, intelligent flaming either. Neither did that moderator that warned you. Yes, I know this is your opinion. And you are one of very few who share it. And you are very much entitled to it, no matter wrong I and others think it might be. I would continue to debate the rest of your post, but Makoto the Phoenix has already done so. He has argued most if not all of your most recent points and arguments, and once again done a remarkable job of proving you wrong. And once again I wholeheartedly agree with him.

How jagex should have selected player mods.
There would be a limit of 2 nominations per person, and the people chosen arnt just going to give it to anyone. In your ever-so-perfect-plan, they wouldn't pick bad people. But your plan is far from perfect, none of the mods are perfect(even the best ones), and none of the people they would consider picking are perfect. I don't know when you decided you could speak for a good majority of people and say for them "I won't pick bad people to be moderators!" But honestly, you need to get a grip on reality. This plan has a very high chance of failure. Somewhere down the line, people who don't deserve to be mods will get recommended. Power corrupts. Also, as I and many others have said before, people who don't deserve player mod status are going to get it before those who do just because they somehow have a connection with an existing moderator. Jagex has the best system I can think of currently, and I think they should be the only ones doing the mod picking. Yes, they're not perfect, but I would trust them over a handful of player moderators who are picking from what would be a power-hungry crowd. And you said they need to be well-respected, well-known, and high level. That automatically eliminates any low levels, and there are some great low level moderators out there. Combat level does not equal maturity. And neither does total level. And while that may mean they have a lot of experience in the game, that does not by any means make them a mature player either. Some of the most immature people I've met are very high in combat level. I and other people have said these statements so many times it is getting redundant. And from what I've read, you have shown no backup argument(correct me if you have). If you're going to debate, you have to debate all the points. You can't just throw our best arguments against you out the window and act like they don't exist. Secondly, Jagex would never accept this. I can't imagine what an uproar you would cause on the Runescape Forums if you posted this there. And I'm not recommending you to either. You will get all the same replies that you have gotten here, and even more so will be from current moderators. I can't even remember if that many people have even agreed with your methods in this thread. And your idea wouldn't be any more welcome over there if you keep up your pointless flaming.

Is scamming scammers acceptable?
Two great quotes. Very true. I agree that none of those people should be able to enjoy either real life or playing Runescape to the full extent those of us who follow the rules do. Which is why we have a court system and jails in real life, and why Jagex has given us a report button. But if you scam them back, you're not helping at all. You're only making the situation worse by letting the scammer go free and also making yourself a scammer. And moving yourself in a position to get in trouble. Instead of helping to rid the world of a scammer, you've only added another one to the list. So much for helping out the Runescape community. The rule clearly says no scamming, and we can only assume it says no scamming under ANY circumstances. I'm assuming all of you can read and understand that rule. But yet you choose to ignore it. And that says a lot about the community of Runescape(and the direction where it is headed) when we choose to ignore rules without any second thought.

Is misspelling of words a crime in RuneScape?
Even taking out just a few letters, whether it be to save time or because of a typing mishap, can confuse people. When chatting with a sibling using a chat application(not in Runescape), I find that when they frequently spell words incorrectly(or use shortcuts) it only confuses me and frustrates me. And I don't think you should be called stupid for not knowing Chatspeak. I don't know of anyone who was raised on that, they've always taught me English at my school. And using bad grammar and making spelling mistakes is a sure-fire way to make people ignore you. It is "unattractive." Who would you rather help out? (Let's just pretend you're a slightly helpful person for this scenario) Person 1: "Cn u shw me wear Varoc is plz?!?!?!" Person 2:"Can you show me where Varrock is please?" The answer is obvious. I believe that typing out your words is a sign of maturity and makes you look smarter too.

There is No Point in Having Two RS Accounts
Of course this would then break the rule of having 2 or more accounts that interacted with each other. And I really don't see any point in doing so unless maybe you don't have a membership. I know bank space is very minimal if you don't have a membership, but that doesn't give you an excuse to break the rules to make up for your lack of bank space. I also noticed some people(as they stated in this thread) like to player kill and get supplies from their main account. That is also illegal, whether you were aware of it or not.

How jagex should have selected player mods.
How do you know? You're just assuming that everyone the player mods know will be good and mature and perfect for the job. A player mod really has no indication of how a person behaves unless they hear from a reliable source or just happen to be right next to the person all the time, watching everything they do. They may act a lot differently when a player moderator is not around. And what about those other people that deserve it that have no connection with a player mod? As zot_mustke said, it would be like friend politics. I believe that moderators may have a right to recommend someone, but Jagex should never have to accept nor even look at the possiblities of the that candidate to becoming a player mod. Jagex has picked all their player mods, they have done a good job so far, and they should be the only ones to decide who is a player moderator, and who is not. They know what they are doing. I also agree with all of Makoto_the_Phoenix's arguments. Now you seem to be showing favoritism to the high level players and well known players. I can assure you that being high level or being famous in NO way whatsoever makes a person more capable of being a player mod, or even more deserving of that job. Level, nor popularity is not a way to determine maturity, helpfulness, politeness, or any other good aspects of the ideal player moderator. While there is a good chance that the more "skilled" a player is, the more mature they are, it is not always a sure thing. I have seen many players who are lower in skill level but are light-years ahead of other high levels in terms of maturity, politeness, and helpfulness.

It's time for a new "Legend's Guild"
The guild itself would be something like the Legend's Guild, only better. I could see a dungeon full of monsters that drop good loot including dragon items, and maybe even something like a dragon pickaxe(we can only hope that's in the making). I'd also like to see a guild that had a nice supply of yews and/or mages, or maybe even a nice, deeply enhanced mine with lots of coal, mithril, and adamanite rocks, possibly even runite. Installing a new minigame (such as one you described) in a guild would be fun, but I'm not sure if Jagex is willing to only allow that minigame to those who can enter the guild. They like to keep minigames open to the majority of players. Sir_Erderik, I'm not sure of Guild of Myths would be the best name, because a myth usually implies something that is not 100% true. The technical definition of a myth is "man's creative way of explaining things he cannot understand." Which doesn't fit the description of a high-level Runescape player. There could be a myth or two surrounding the guild or the quest, which I would greatly appreciate for a good quest plot. But it doesn't really fit the Guild's title in my opinion.

It's time for a new "Legend's Guild"
Well you do need realize that the majority of people who do have a quest cape already are in the higher combat ranks(I personally haven't seen too many below the high 80's). So I don't think that a new guild would completely lower the amount of people who actually had a quest cape from the combat standards. And I believe a new guild with a new cape and whatever other various awards and benefits that Jagex could come up would only inspire people to work on other quests and raise their skills. I know that happened to me with Legends and other quests. I remember vigorously training crafting to be able to do the Lunar Diplomacy quest that day it was released. If Jagex releases this new quest, people will get their quest capes back in time. I like the idea. Not bad. :)

It's time for a new "Legend's Guild"
I have to say that the Legend's Guild isn't really so full of legends anymore. I'm not denying that the quest was hard, or at least seemed hard to anyone who's done it when below 80 or maybe even 70 combat. But I really think there needs to be a new guild that says "Hey, our members are extremely good. They have high skills and have done a lot quests. These people are beyond legends." I don't know what to call it, I can't currently think of any noun that would be higher than "legend." But I would very much like to see a new guild sometime soon. The ideal requirement for the new guild would be an extremely difficult quest which requires: -High combat required to complete quest, but not too high(maybe 90+ just to start?) -A very difficult puzzle/logic aspect -High requirements(50-70) in some non-combat related skills such as farming, hunter, herblore, theiving, crafting, etc. -200+(maybe even raise to 225, 230, or even 240?) quest points to begin and complete the quest -Certain harder quests done such as Mourning's End Part II, Dream Mentor, Darkness of Hallowvale, etc. -A long, good, storyline that will leave you wondering what to do next and where to go without leaving you completely clueless I would really like to see something that tied a few quests together, or at least brought one series to an end. Maybe Jagex will tie something in the the new coming Godwars dungeon, but I don't want to see something that's completely combat oriented. Something that appreciates the avid skiller who doesn't mind putting on the armor once in a while. I know skillcapes are the big thing right now, and I feel those and Fire Capes have replaced the Legend's cape. Even the Quest Points cape doesn't shine that much. I think it's time for something new, something that stands out in Runescape, a guild that has a cape that not only seperates the men from the boys, but the wise and strong men(and women!) from the inferior society. Feel free to post your opinions and suggestions.
