  1. I don't know why I didn't check out this thread until now. Saw a few people mention it in the real life pictures thread, so I figured I should check it out. Some funny ones at the beginning, kind of becoming generic as it goes on. Yep, that is the only one I LOL'ed at. A few others gave me a smile, but that one was just awesome :D
  2. I just reported this topic as spam, even though I guess it's technically allowed. See what the mods do. If people really wanted to talk about random not news stories, they should just go to Fark.
  3. [hide][/hide] OK you got me there :D .
  4. Just for [cabbage]s and giggles I decided to take the test again. After reading the very first question I gave up again. Just like in all the other topics, I finally decided to do it and then give up after the first question. When the first question is a [cabbage]ty one, you just know the rest of it will be.
  5. But this guy owned all of the cats and dogs, and it was still illegal. If I own an object, say a stereo, I am allowed to destroy it in as mean of a way as possible and then feed it into a garbage disposal (although it wouldn't like it too much). It's illegal to kill cats and then feed them to dogs though apparently.
  6. He probably doesn't know most of us enough to have an idea what to draw about.
  7. Aldous Huxley's Brave New World is an awesome book.
  8. indeed, take a look at your nation's Constitution or whatever they have that's similar. Anything about animal rights? Not that I can find. In fact, I believe animals are considered property, and what property has rights? There are animal cruelty laws in place in the US. Not part of the Constitution, but it's just a goddamned piece of paper anyways.
  9. I actually don't mind the news topics all that much. There are a good amount of them right now though, a few of them like this one, pretty much not news worthy. When I want to get my not news I go to Fark. It's a little better than some of the other phases the board goes through. "I'm leaving (which they never do)" and "suicide" topics are my least favourite runs.
  10. I don't believe animals have any rights. If a guy wants to chop up cats and feed them to his dogs, as long as he owns all animals involved then it shouldn't be against the law. I still think it's sick though.
  11. These tests always suck. I say it in every topic (which there are about 4 or 5 of, I don't blame you for not finding them via search because the search function sucks), and hohto already said it in this topic. The questions are too boolean, you either agree or you don't. Doesn't give any sort of sideways alternative, and if there is a middle option as "other" or something, it throws your score way off. Anyways I am a Libertarian, my scores are around the ends towards a free market and free society. Not quite anarcho-capitalist, but close.
  12. This is already in the SciFi books thread. It's why it was bumped up.
  13. Canadian law is a little different than US law. In the US each state has it's own minimum age, and that is the cutoff no matter what. Varies between 15-18. If the two+ people are from different states, then the minimum is 18.
  14. Wow, I have never seen this before.
  15. Everytime I hear something about cricket I get even more confused. Maybe I'll watch a game someday, and then it'll be easier to understand.

More propaganda of animal cruelty videos. Yadda yadda. Rubbish. Really? Then this topic is pretty much worthless already. Only discussion to get out of it we already have topics for.
  17. Hmm, actually I think you are right. Anyways that's not the Turks strongest point, it is the bombarding towers. If you play as the Turks your army is just there to protect the towers and your villagers collecting stone/gold. You build the towers right out of the range of enemy castles, which the towers can then bombard. I think they can reach as far as trebuchets. If you don't exploit their extra range to the full advantage then the Turks are about an average nation at best.
  18. Are you classified as human? Negative, I am a meat popsicle.

If you don't want this to go in the trivial video link sticky then you have to give us something to work with here. An explanation of what it's about maybe?
  20. Does everyone really need to keep requoting that whole pyramid? It's bad enough to see the picture over and over again, but seriously, you only need to quote one or two levels.
  21. Turks are the best land based country to play as. They are generally considered the second best country, behind Korea. Basically if your opponent is playing as the Turks, and he is building ships rather than playing to his strengths (gunpowder), then he doesn't really know what he is doing and can probably easily be beat with just a generic rush of anything. So I'll agree with what Striker said, ignore navy battles as much as possible and just attack on land.
  22. Yeah that was the only free one I could see myself getting into. It never worked quite right on my computer though.
  23. If it was in Cincinnati I would be all over this :D . But since it's not I guess I won't be going.
  24. Yes, if it is absolutely consensual. Like I said earlier that also implies that they are at an age where they can make that decision. Probably around 16, but age is really an arbitrary measurement to maturity.
