Grand Exchange - THE Downfall Of The RuneScape Economy.
Peronix replied to #Free's topic in General Discussion
Well, if things get like that at the exchange we always have the normal trade system as a fallback. While the rich merchants sit at the exchange manipulating prices people will be selling those items for much cheaper on world 2. -

This whole grand exchange things troubles me a bit. It will of course be a great thing that I'll be able to sell off my ZMI runes quickly and without wasting any time; but how will this effect the prices on nature runes? Or prices on runes in general? And what about pure ess and super energies? So soon after I decide to go for this goal, and I'm faced with uncertainties on the future of this skill. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see how this plays out. -
A couple intriguing ideas from the RSOF about the big update... Either of these two would be awesome. Thought I still think that the new bank interface would be great.
-
Yeah, because amulets, capes, and certain fashion items have level requirements  BTW, the 1 million mark for combat stats is 65 for str, 62 for attack, and 58 for def. So he could have lost rune and maybe a dragon weapon. On topic: You should know that the ring of life is your last defense. When going into a dangerous situation you should have food, a one click teleport, and any other items necessary for your survival in that particular area. The ROL can be a lifesaver if all else fails, but you should NOT depend on it to save you 100% of the time.

I think this is true to some extent, but it will have an impact on merchanting anyway. The new exchange is also going to greatly increase the liquidity of certain thin markets, which will make it more difficult for merchants to take advantage of the lone seller who needs cash fast, or the lone buyer who needs an item fast. But then it will also make it easier for merchants to buy out the the person who is selling for just a bit less and sell it for their price. This might drive the prices on certain items up.
-
I don't think it will ruin merchanting at all. But instead of sitting in world 2 now, merchants will be sitting in the exchange waiting for bargains so they can put those items up for higher prices. I do see this as a potential problem for the rares market, though. People can only speculate on how many rares are currently in the market now, but when the exchange goes up and all of the sellers put their rares in there for sale I think the prices might go down some.

All I have to say is WOW. This month looks awesome! Although I do wonder what effects the exchange will have on the economy, now that goods will be readily purchasable. Now that there will be an easy way to buy from other players, prices will probably become very competitive. As a Runecrafter, this worries me a bit. I wonder what the BIG update could be :-k Summoning? NEW BANK INTERFACE?! (god I hope it's the latter)

Not Daylight Saving Time, but Tips on Saving Time
Peronix replied to SportsGuy's topic in General Discussion
While powermining granite: only have two slots in your inventory open. Once you mine one granite ore, click the next rock, and while mining it, right click the ore in your inventory, and once you're done mining the rock, immediately drop that ore, and click the next rock, then right click the next ore... and repeat. I find this much faster than mining a bunch and then dropping it all at once. Also filling the rest of your inventory with waterskins will save you some runes on humidify. While RCing: position your small, medium, and large pouches in that order vertically in your inventory. I find this way you can empty those pouches much faster. If you have a giant pouch, it dosen't matter where you put it since the former three are usually the only ones you have to empty in sequence. BTW, if you're wondering why you put the small one on top; when you're trying to empty them fast I find it difficult when the small one is on the bottom because it's smaller and easier to mis-click. It's better if it is the first one in the sequence. Also, if you use super energies, instead of using one at the bank, I find you can do more trips/hour if you wait until your run is low and sacrifice one spot to take a sup energy with you and drink it while running to the zammy wizard/to the ZMI altar, or whatever. -

Well as I said, it's not just that I don't think it's worth it, I'm really bored with it. I realized when I crafted those 80k essences that I was having more fun doing THAT than slaying. Kinda weird to some, but that's just how it is for me. That astrals method does look pretty good though; but aren't astrals a little hard to sell? People don't use nearly as many of those as nats I think :-k -

Hmm, well yes but what do those "bonus levels" bring me if the monsters aren't worth it for either training or moneymaking? I'm not one of those players with a mind to get 2277 total. Besides, it seems to me if I really wanted to train combat, I could just train it at a place like moss giants. (VERY good exp when you use the mossies in the pirates cove... I've tried it...). Exactly why I'm considering 99 :) -

I think I can hear the tumbleweed as it rolls across this blog. Right, well it seems nobody cares one way or the other. Which seems to be a common theme when it comes to lesser known tip.iters like me. So I guess I'll just go for the one I feel I want the most. Which happens to be 99 RC. -

Right, since no one has responded yet I thought I might at least go to the planning stage for my 99 RC goal so I can implement it into this blog. As you might have guessed, I am going to be doing ZMI for 82-91 if I indeed decide to go for it. Given estimates from a thread about xp yields per 1k essence, I assume that each 1k essence for me will be about 17,500 exp. (it's about 17,265 at 75 RC and 18,030 at 91). I don't have an exact formula to go by, so I'm just going to divide the total amount of exp I need (3,449,511) by that number, which is about 197k essences. Based on that I've come up with this plan based on where I am now. 15k essence through the abyss 20K at ZMI 20K abyss 40K ZMI 20K abyss 40K ZMI 20K abyss 40K ZMI 20K abyss 60K ZMI Sell Runes from ZMI This should get me to 91 Runecrafting. Of course this isn't taking into account the cost of super energies. I might have to adjust that schedule a little bit so I can afford to buy them. Or, if I run out I might just sell some of the runes from ZMI early so I can buy them. After 91 I will be solo abyss RCing. Not much planning needed there; It'll be 800k essences of pure profit. After this goal is complete, I should have around 450m. Obviously this will take a while. So this is how I'm going to break it up: at least 20k essences a week, either ZMI or abyss. Since all-in-all this is about 1.1m essences, at that rate it should take 60 weeks to complete this goal. However 20k is just a quota; obviously I can do more in a week. The 20K is just a mark that will bring some satisfaction when I complete it for the week. Some weeks I might feel like just barely meeting it (which won't be too hard) and other weeks I might want to go all out, either way the max amount of time this will take is 60 weeks. -

Good guide, I guess. I've also done this before. 500+ names on my list so far  -

I'm getting really bored with slayer. Honestly I started this goal so I could slay abyssal demons, and after looking around a bit they DO seem a bit overrated. Like 46k exp compared to 60k+ an hour I could be getting elsewhere. The whips are only 1.3-1.4 now, too... I've all but lost that motivation. The sheer number of burthope tasks is also very frustrating. And then the Shilo master seems to be giving me a lot of the same tasks. Brine rats, suqahs, iron dragons, bloodvelds, kalphites, infernal mages, greater demons, and abbarant spectres seem to come up a lot. Some of those tasks I like, but the ones that I don't seem to come up more often than the others. Iron dragons I only do because I want a visage/d legging drop. But after DOZENS of tasks, and more than a thousand dragons, my best drop is a d stone. It seems like a waste of time. Also, as far as the 3 day rule goes, I haven't been able to slay for 3 days straight. I usually go off and do something else... then come back like a day or two later. My next goal after 85 slayer was going to be 99 runecrafting. I know, this is a huge goal, but this one seems to be much more bearable for me. I RC'd for a week straight to get my D Chain, so obviously if I can do it for a week straight, that passes the 3-day test. There is also the motivation of 91+ runecrafting, and the amount of money 91-99 will get me. That's defiantly not overrated. It would also be nice to have a cape that everyone respects. So what do you all think? Should I postpone my 85 slayer goal in favor of this much larger goal, that seems to be the one I am most motivated to get at the moment? (please post your thoughts) -
Personally I think they should cut the highscores down to 100k people and just add a feature to the website where you can look up anyone's stats (which also gives you a rank out of all total accounts). But that aside, I don't think the 1 MILLION slots will fill up with hardcore gamers anytime soon. And like others have said, when the highscores fill up again, Jagex will probably just expand it.

I agree with everything except the goals part. It's perfectly OK to set large goals as long as you don't let them take over your life. See kids outside playing basketball? Want to do it too? Miserable sitting there at the computer? GO OUTSIDE! If you would rather be doing something else, do it! Just remember that your RS goals aren't so important that you have to have them done as soon as humanly possible. If you prefer to do it that way, that is your choice.

Price Floor :) Price ceiling is a minimum value, floor is max. Huh? How does that make any sense at all? BTW, wiki is telling me differently.
-
That theory makes no sense at all... your theory would have some validity if shops were the #1 source of nats before the update, but obviously that was always far from the case. Most nats used for alching today come from Runecrafters like me and much of the high leveled community, not shops. Because the shops sell for such a high price they will never be able to compete with RCers.

Now that that little item goal is out of the way, back to slayer-ing!!! -
Haha, I agree 100%. That didn't seem harsh at all to me, the people ranting about that deserved this. I kill wild dogs all the time in the Brimhaven dungeon anyway... with some indifference, too, because they annoy me SO much when they attack me while I'm slaying greaters. And BTW, if an old scraggly dog that looked like it had rabies approached me IRL, I'd shoo it away too...

Lol at the quote trains that have nothing to do with the topic. I just hope the servers don't go down while I'm running through the wild RCing. -
Hmm let's see... 48.Tele noob. 49.Safer noob. 50.Def noob. 51.Food noob. 52.Pot noob. 53.Smite noob. 54.Veng noob. 55.Recoil noob. 56.Farcaster noob. Yeah I've seen all of those RCing in W69.

Look in forum games ;) he said longest blog. Yes he did, but he also said the only other topic he's found over 200 pages was the new bank setup one. There are pleanty of topics in forum games with well over 200, or even 300 pages  By the way, gratz wakka on 94 RC, and GL on 99. I might be going for that too after 85 slayer.

Double astrals ftw! Well not really, since they're only 150 ea. Practically the same thing for 56 RC with double cosmics. But a level is a level. -
