Great advice from the above, but you're going to have to do something if you find out what's happening, I suggest using a plastic washer made for mounting motherboards or a plastic stand off, either one that screws onto the baseplate or one that just props the board. Examples of what you're looking for. :) I'd also check to see if you've got enough current going to the board, sometimes a 300W power supply will just be under what you need nowadays. Recommended 350W+. :o I use a 600W in mine and it still is under the recommended current for my board, it works... kinda. :D

VHS & Betamax  VHS was inferior yet it was the one that took the crown. :P So far the DVD-R/+R is looking the same, DVD-R's are inferior yet at least in britain we can't get enough of them, yet DVD+R's are harder to source than Plutonium... Ok slight exagerration. :P AAC might be superior but MP3's have already got most of the population captured by the... Well you know.

This is why you shouldn't play with lighters. Sorry I really couldn't resist. :)

It is quite an interesting looking faith, I myself am about as close to a satanist by their definition as I could be to any religion. But I dunno what you'd call me, Atheist maybe... I really don't believe in anything of the sort. Religion is just a bit too... sad in my opinion. Don't take that the wrong way please, I'm interested to see if you people can have a proper debate about Satanism without ripping into each others faiths and beliefs.

Diablo 2 uses a file protection called Securom v2, Daemon Tools would work with this. So rip the game to the PC without the internet with something like Nero (you don't need a writer to install nero in most cases), Download Daemon Tools (google it) save it to a CD, install it on the PC without the net. Mount the Image and use it as a normal CD. Enabling the anti-protection of course. Or you could if you own the game, get a NO-CD patch and install the game to your HDD and run it completely from there.

I'm considering buying a 12 inch iBook...

If you're more suited to PC's then get a PC based laptop. You want battery power, buy a Laptop with a Pentium M processor. You won't quite get 6 hours like the Mac, but it won't be a kick in off it, plus it'll be cheaper and easier to work. More compatible with software too. -
Fastest = Network them All you need is an ethernet card or port on your PC, and one on your Laptop. Buy a 1 or 2 metre Crossover network cable, emphasis on the crossover. Connect one end to the PC, other end to the Laptop and set up file sharing etc... Read help in windows, if it's XP on both it'd be easier.

It depends on the disk, certain PC games have special protection built into them to try and halt piracy. EA Games are famous for this, Red Alert, Red Alert 2, The Sims and The Sims 2, to name a few. To copy these you're better doing it the way I do it. I take a game I've just bought, stick it in my ROM, and use Nero 6.6 to rip it to an Image. I then store it on my second hardrive and use a tool called Daemon Tools to mount the image as a virtual CD/DVD, turn the anti-protection on, and I can play it anytime I want. This way is the only way I'll tell you because this'll allow you to play the games, and unless you're selling hardrives with games on them, I doubt you'll be handing them out to your friends.

Blink why don't you find 10 topics, 5 useful ones that have been locked and 5 stupid ones that haven't. Post them here first so we can debate on their content. Then you can send the post to an administrator to see what their answer is.

The reason why so many old posts get locked when someone posts on them is because they usually dont have anything extra to add. When you have an old topic and then someone posts 3 months later and says "lol yeah" then its obviously going to be locked for bumping a dead topic. If its a long discussion like some of the religeon threads have been they are brought from the grave many times over because the people that reply post a detailed message. Yes I do think that perhaps too much locking goes on but a majority of the threads deserve it. We get so many "whats your favourite movie/band etc" and "" posts they just get annoying after a while or cause flaming. Perhaps a discussion about the future of off topic could be arranged with a few admins and mods in the irc room or something? Afterall Off Topic wouldnt exist without us lot. Saying that Off-Topic wouldn't exist without you lot is a little bit big headed is it not? Considering that it existed well before most of you made it your "home". You know back when we were all still scrapping around on Runescape General, before P2P was there and before half the boards were there. When most staff were still battling it out between themselves with flames flying everywhere. Wow.. Okay back on-topic. In off-topic. Also I've seen moderators close a thread just because the date it was posted was more than 1 month ago. Not for the spam of a "lol yeah" might I add. No, just because it's "old and pointless". Also repetition on forums that don't allow old posts to be ressurected by any means apart from posting an essay is going to happen. There's no stopping that sort of thing, the reason that you see it as a repost is you're here all the time. You can't tell by the amount of posts you have either.

Maybe if you suck ups would take into account what Mad has said, you'd realise what you could make this topic. A DEBATE! A much needed one about locking posts, the one recently that got me was GSW locking a post about movies saying there's been too many or something. Yet if someone brung up a dead topic and added onto it, it'd be locked. Also who is he to say there's been too many, maybe it'd be nice for the newer people to see a topic about movies?

http://www.pspvideo9.com/ PSP Video 9 is freeware and allows you to convert most video's for a PSP, read the instructions onsite or in any help files.

You can only upgrade a graphics card on a laptop if it is supposed to be upgraded, Rock laptops can do this. If you just have a standard laptop, Packard Bell, HP/Compaq etc... You can't, the Video chipset is built onto the board. So in turn you'd need a new laptop with a better graphics chipset. If you only want to upgrade the amount of memory it uses, try accessing the BIOS and using more system RAM on the graphics. Most laptops including mine can do this up to around 128MB.

Hard Drive Failure - Cannot Access Anything At All
Sweex replied to Bmw's topic in Tech and Computers
Only two things you can do yourself to help a dead drive. 1. Find an identical drive and replace the controller board on the top of the HDD, that's the circuitry on top btw. :P 2. Phone a data recovery specialist. The first only applies if it is the controller that's away on it, if it's the actual drive then you're only left with number two. :? PS. Have you tried switching off S.M.A.R.T status and seeing if it works without that on? -
On SB, cougar_uk_2k, lord9000, Mercifull, Miss Runite, Sonsie and ForsakenMage. Now, not much... As you can see this is my first post so I don't really do much apart from read.
