  1. Yes IE would be safe, if you only ever used http://www.runescape.com - because we know that Jagexis a trusted company. But we know that you don't only go to runescape.com, you also go to this forum, and I daresay other websites too. It just so happens that browsing this website in IE downloads and installs some bad software onto your computer. The admins are doing there best to change this, but in the meantime, Firefox users are not affected.
  2. AOL is an Internet Service Provider, but they additionally supply you with a browser, also called AOL. Change your ISP to another company, AOL is slow and provides poor service. However, it doesn't (to my knowledge) 'screw up your pc.' A web browser is a program which allows you to access websites. If you're using a Windows PC (chances are you are,) then you already have Internet Explorer, it comes free with windows. However, it is an extremely insecure browser, and surfing the web with it will 'screw up your pc.' For this reason, I suggest you use Firefox instead, it's fast, easy to use and secure. You can download Firefox from http://getfirefox.com
  3. Download Firefox so it doesn't happen again. Have you got the latest version of Ad-Aware and the latest updates for it? Download Spybot S&D, scan with that. Run a scan with your virus scanner (make sure it also is up to date. If you don't have one, use Housecall.) When you have done all of these, download hijackthisand post a log.
  4. Yes that's Jagex's fault. They're working on fixing it at the moment.

  6. Tools -> Extensions. Click "Adblock" and then select "Uninstall." Or click "options" and search for runescape.com and delete it (I'm unfamiliar with adblock, I've never used it, but it should be fairly self explanatory. I suggest you create yourself a seperate Firefox profile so you and your brother have different settings. Go to Start -> Run and type firefox[Caution: ExecutableFile] -profilemanager
  7. The pay-for ones are usually best. Norton and Mcafee are well known. As for free ones - Zonealarm or Sygate.
  8. lsass[Caution: ExecutableFile] is an important system file, and should not be disabled.
  9. I'm guessing the most common usernames would be staff members, people with high post counts and people who have written guides that aren't stickied. Making a MOD to collect the information wouldn't be too sophisticated, but it's not really that useful and it's all extra work for the server.
  10. I actually made one once, it was awesome - I practised for ages and could get it to come back and land right at my feet :D It had a nasty encounter with some rocks though :(
  11. First thing I can suggest is STOP what you're doing. Do you know what you're doing? Next, perhaps you could explain the nature of your porblem?
  12. So far that's the worst coverup for watching porn I've seen so far. :lol:That's illegal for people my age.
  13. Can you set it up so it only displays certain filetypes that you're playing? So that people don't get caught out watching al_qaeda_application.mpg or similar :P

    Afl season

I'm not much of a big fan of afl, but I just thought I'd mention that AFL stands for Australian Rules Football for all of you non-australians :)
  15. Crikey! Drop bears are the bane of existence. They keep attacking my mob of pet kangaroos!
  16. Is that directed at "you australians," or "you non-australians"? - you don't have a location in your profile ;)
  17. ah-huh! a new zealander! :P
  18. Coober Pedy - I've been there :) And yes, from some googling I've decided that yes it is Coober Pedy, full points to Uldric!
  19. Hmm well throw us a hijackthis log just because we all love them so much.
  20. w00t 8) I've played on a golf course with a similar amount of grass to that :D
  21. http://www.phpbb.com/support/guide/#section2 OR http://www.phpbb.com/support/tutorials/ ... in_install (the last one is a flash movie)
  22. I believe they're about 1.4k from the champions guild shop, so you should be able to buy one for about 1200gp or so.
  23. Oh, and no bad feeligns meant to you Water_Faerie, but it's probably a better idea to just let Chaos do the editing. If he keeps the original image in unlimited colour mode, and pasts each seperate gif into it, and then optimises it and reduces the number of colours, there'll be less loss on most of the images. I support Chaos and believe that gif is a good format to use for this sort of project. While you do have a reduced number of colours, you don't get the blurring thatr you do with jpgs. Jpgs are designed for photos while gifs are more suited to stuff that's drawn. A png version could also be a consideration, at the sacrifice of filesize.
  24. Hmm i see :| Frankly, I'm not much of a media boarder, so I'm quite happy to give up my spot :) If however, later on some people don't submit theirs or whatever, I'd be happy to take one of them. As for what I was talking about before, it may not be possible any more, since more pieces have been taken - but it depends on how many people actually submit theirs. I just filled in the leftover spaces with colour to make the white stand out. Next try, I changed the bg and made it smaller so it was centred: I was also thinking of getting rid of the puzzle bits for the center, so it was a nice sort of curvey square thing - but I figure it'd be too much trouble because of the extra bits you'd have to add to people's images.
